Okay now i'm getting real thirsty for some new gay-undertone kdramas

I desperately want to know what upcoming kdramas (specifically thriller/crime genre) that have potential shippable pair of male lead characters (or supporting char) or have gay-undertones mxm pairing or have homoerotic antagonism vibe (even better)

There are two upcoming netflix's series that seems pretty good, Killer's Paradox (Choi Woo Sik and Son Suk Gu are the leads) coming out next month and Weak Hero Class 2 but it will come out last year i'm afraid. But I NEED MOREEEEEEE.

I already read a list of some upcoming drama this year but major of it has male-female leads so i don't really have much hope tho 🥲

Just read the news that Shin Minha might play Navier, in the kdrama adaptation of The Remarried Empress. I want her, because before I read the Novel, I didn’t realise Navier is in early 20s, which I personally felt was too young and given how the narrative hails her as perfect empress, she needs time to show results which I felt was at odd with a 20 something young empress.

When I read the webtoon I always think of Navier as someone beautiful and mature like Shin Minha or Shin Hye Sun in my head. A mature empress in her 30s who slogged behind the scenes for years. And if she is in her 30s it does much better for the whole “heir” debacle to make sense and flourish. Otherwise it makes no sense why Shoveshit is so desperate for an heir when Navier is only in her 20s.

I just wish Trashta was not a slave girl, as much as I love to hate her, I feel remorse for her too. Because that is an uneducated exploited slave girl who had come from nothing then given so much without a proper help, guidance or care. Who was left to overcook things in her head that literally made her the worse version of herself. If only she was not a slave girl then it would’ve been perfect!

Apparently Yoon Chanyoung was casted for the kbl about a mafia guy reincarnating as a highschool kid??? Chanyoung, of all of us are dead and hope or dope fame! It's on his MDL already, but I think he's still in talks. Have we finally entered the era of already established actors being in kbls? Or am I forgetting someone?

I would question the BL aspect of this. They may make it bromance. After all, we all labor under the corrupted shadow of At a Distance, Spring is Green. Korea will censor down to bromance if they feel it necessary.

Also I am 150% sure I have seen this drama already (not gay). Possibly even from Korea? MDL doesn't say it's a remake but maybe Japan?

Evilive's trailer is out and it is what I've expected it to be

There's no english subtitles but I've already translated the whole trailer (by gg translate cuz I don't know Korean) because i'm so crazy about this film *sob*. It's a bit rusty (ofc it is) but still enough to smell "something fishy" between our leads 😏 It's only a trailer but their sexual tension is already through the roof.

In conclusion, Evilive is a love story about 2 partners in crime with unhinged, problematic and possessive relationship. I'm totally 100% on board (for 2 weeks tbh), 3 more weeks to go 😭

ANYWAYS, i'm excited for Jisung's new drama Connection. Hopefully international fans can watch it immediately too on 25th May or is it 24th hmm

*sigh* this has been a rather underwhelming kdrama year for me so far

No Gain No Love tried some interesting stuff and Son Hae Yeong will forever live in my heart, but i will forget the drama itself in a couple of weeks

the only other drama i somewhat remember by now is The Atypical Family, because it was different and it wasn't boring for sure

now it's Dear Hyeri, which is fascinating to watch, one of those dramas that you can start picking apart frame by frame, line by line of dialogue and you will keep finding things that may or may not be there, one of those dramas that can spark interesting lengthy discussions (if the viewers are not too busy deciding who the FL should end up with). it might still all go to shit, but for now it's such a welcome feeling to be looking forward to the release dates, i have really missed it
