Mini-review:

I finally got the chance to watch this, and it didn't disappoint at all. I love me a good horror thriller, a genre that's very in rare in the world of k-dramas, and this one ticks all the boxes for me. Sure, it's not super scary or anything, but it does know how to be creepy as hell. And while it was the central mystery that kept me hooked from beginning to end, I also appreciated the way they used individual "cases" to build up the main plot, especially during the first half. On top of that, the show is superbly acted, with Kim Tae Ri being particularly excellent in a sort of dual role. But really, I don't think I have a single complaint. Revenant is truly that good, and I will certainly add it to my favorite dramas list.

P.S. There is a lot of triggering content throughout its twelve episodes, so be careful with that and make sure to check warnings.

This was a beautifully written drama that had a few hiccups along the way. It definitely won’t be for everyone, but it has a lot of heart and a lot of well written characters. For me it fit into my favorite genre perfectly and gave me a slight feel of the western drama ‘Pushing Daisies’ void that I was missing. It does have its problems, it gets sometimes a bit uneven throughout the series and the romance did get a tad bit cliche with the whole love triangle bit, but it didn’t really matter since both leads had an extraordinary amount of chemistry together. I actually wished it used it more towards the somewhat meh ending. And for the episodic ‘ghost of the week’ stories….. I can’t count how many times it had me reaching for the tissues. Overall definitely recommend.

Loooooooved it! I held off until about six episodes were released because I read Kim Hye Soo was carrying the drama and it's true she is the best thing about this drama but I thought the rest of the cast were pretty good too. The story was well done and the queen was just amazing. She projected motherly love and you just wanted to protect her character. I had two favorite support characters, Consort Tae who was just adorable and Crown Princess Chung Ha whose love story with the crown prince was totally cute. An extremely surprising plot point that was so heartfelt and genuine was the story of Grand Prince Gye Seong, I thought the love the Queen showed towards him was absolutely heartwarming and what an incredibly progressive storyline, absolutely loved it. I can't say enough about this drama and I definitely recommend!
