[OC] Halloween! Raina (2024).

Another Halloween repost! This was a difficult one, but it was a fun one! I wanted her to look half-cute half-scary while having a cool costume that reflected both parts of her worldbuilding and backstory. I like to think she put the whole thing together by herself (and the help of one of her coworkers, perhaps?)

Hopefully working at the Halloween Exposition went well for her.

Raina and Skye are such interesting Foils, they're so similar but also so different. everything happens to them in reverse to the other, like mentioned in this lovely post a few while back, and this is soooo prominent in season 1.

they both join organizations to fulfill their personal agenda

They both use their conventional attractiveness (albeit differently: Raina's stays here like it's her default, like when she talks to Po about getting in good word for the Clairvoyant, or when she talks to Garrett about the Gravitonium. Skye's is more like a facet of hers, like when she infiltrates Quinn's party in Malta, or duping Ward when she knew he was Hydra) to get what they want, both of which are technically about the same thing. Raina's about her gift, Skye's about her parents, which includes her Inhuman heritage

Both of them inevitably help Coulson realize what TAHITI really was

Garrett needs both of them to live, Raina distilling the GH components, Skye to unlock the hard drive for access to Simmons's research

Raina continually saves herself (Hong Kong Centipede laboratory, taking over from Po, leaving with Quinn to evade Coulson and co.) while Skye continually sacrifices herself (volunteering for Malta, breaking up with Miles, literally almost dying)

and they both happen to be inhuman, too, like. wow.

season one Raina is so funny, she's all over the place, she's Centipede's top recruiter, and she accomplishes this by naming random people like she's taking in stray dogs, knowing damn well they're going to be brutally experimented on and probably murdered, never even spares a though there, she's the Clairvoyant's top and probably only real believer, and is incredibly annoyed and disappointed when it turns out his powers aren't real, and there's so so much hype about how good she is at reading people and manipulating them, how its a gift, and she's just such a natural, and then you find out that she was just quoting Coulson's shield file back at him directly

[OC] "Raina" Mystralath's Reference Sheet (2024).

Here I present to you, by any and all definitions, my current main D&D character! She's the ttrpg OC I get to play the most thanks to the rapid frequency of our sessions (I am knocking on wood and hoarding good luck charms as I say this-!!) and she's extremelly dear to my heart. Our party plays in the DM's homebrew world, which I quickly fell in love with alongside all its quirky little inhabitants.

"Raina" is an elven sorceress that has recently moved to the city of Thevos with the aid of a famed rogue detective! During the three months she's lived there, she's managed to obtain a prized position at its facility research centre: the Daystrom Institute, where she aims to make something great. May she too make the most out of it, before the sands of time begin to turn again.
