In reality, he spent several weeks learning seal biology and researching the most productive way to incorporate more seafood and fat into Jay’s diet. Going so far as to blend shrimps and mussels into his smoothies

During a mission with the JLA Robin was still onboard a ship when it went down and got swallowed by the waves. This was pre-Selkie reveal. It was the one and only time people have ever seen several JLA members lose their cool on Batman, screaming at him how he could just leave his sidekick to die. Bruce was very confused for a second because he could clearly see Jason splash happily in the water a couple feet away.

Jason loved pulling drowning pranks and people who didn’t know he was a Selkie

Orm offered more than once to fight Batman for the right to raise him. Jason was very touched, Aquaman found more Bat contingencies about Atlantis after each attempt. (Bruce was less than amused. Dick kept laughing his head off)

"Jesus Christ," Sirius says at the sight of you. A tiny vest, a pair of boxers he's sure are his. He forgets he thought they were lost almost immediately. You've got a laundry basket held to your hip.

"Sirius," you say. Really gently. Soft and sickly sweet. You don't flinch like he'd thought you would. He likes that more than he should. "Baby, when did your flight land? You didn't Uber here did you? Have you been home?"

He doesn't answer a single one of your questions and you shift on your feet, soft socks twisting into the crush of your rug. The anklet on your left leg clinks.

He drops his neck pillow next to his forgotten suitcase and closes the space between the two of you. He almost knocks into your dining table. You drop the basket on your couch like you know what he's about to do.

He hugs you so hard he worries you might bruise. He trusts you'd let him know if it might be too much because he still feels like it's not hard enough. He wants to feel you against him. Your hip pressed to his, your chest against his shoulder, the way your chin falls into the pit between his shoulder and neck.

"Sirius," you say into his skin. Right behind his ear where you know he likes it. "I was supposed to pick you up. You were supposed to ring."

"Don't care," he says and means it. "I didn't want you to drive through the traffic, I know you hate it."

You do. Last time you picked him up at Heathrow you almost had a prang. He was just as upset as you were. He had to drive the two of you home.

"I would've been okay," you sigh. He knows what you mean. "I'm sure you're exhausted."

"I am," he says. He starts to walk backwards until the backs of his legs hit the edge of your sofa. He sits down and takes you with him. You gasp like you weren't expecting it. Silly. "I am, but Christ, baby, I missed you."

You tuck your knees into his sides where he's got your legs parted over his lap. Pressing your palms into his soft hoodie, right over his chest. "Missed you more," you say before kissing his cheek. You pull back and he's frowning.

He reaches his hands up to your neck to tug you back down to his face. "That's really not possible," he mumbles before kissing you. Properly, he thinks, warm and slow into your mouth to show how much he means it.

You pull back, and despite the slow nature of his kiss, you're breathless. A little gaspy as you blink slowly and try to tamp back your shy grin. "Sure," you say.

"Promise."

You tuck your hands into his hair and look as lovesick as he feels. Pushing flat locks of hair behind his ears. Kinked where he's had his headphones on for the past thirteen hours. If he's lucky, he thinks he might get you into the shower later on with him tonight while he washes it. If he's even luckier, he might not have time to wash it at all.

"You gonna let me make you some dinner?" you ask, twisting a strand of hair around your finger.

"No," he says and means it. You're not going anywhere if he can help it. "No, stay here, baby."

"You're not hungry?" you ask. Your hand stills and he doesn't have it in him to ask you to keep twisting his hair. He knows you would but he thinks he's being whiny enough.

"Not really," he lies. He’s starved. Plane food is awful. "Thanks, though, honey."

You smile at the nickname like he'd expected. "You don't want me to make that linguine? The one with the little shrimp? I think the market might still be open."

Sirius wants to kiss you again. He wants to kiss you and hug you. He wants to tuck his arms under your shirt and hide his face in your neck until he gets bored. He doesn't think there are enough days left in existence to achieve it.

"We could order in?" he suggests. "Not that I don't love your cooking, it's just, I can order from my phone and you can stay right here in my lap."

"Sirius," you mumble.

"Yeah, and then while we wait, you can tell me about everything you did while I was away." He's smiling so hard he can't help it. It's an amazing idea.

You pretend to think about it but then reach down to pull his phone from his pocket. You hand it to him, smiling, and say, "Two conditions."

"I'm listening."

"We order from the Indian place around the block. Girl and The Goat?" He knows you only suggest it because it's his favourite. He tosses up arguing with you over it. He knows you'll want Greek. You always do.

He doesn't. "Right."

"And," you add, "You have to tell me everything you haven't already about tour."

Sirius rolls his eyes like that's an inconvenience. He really did want to let you ramble away. He's been gone two months. "Okay."

You smile like you're actually excited. "Yay."

Sirius pulls out his phone and finds the right number in his favourited contacts. He holds the dialling phone to his ear. "Good, I can complain to you then. James is such a fu- Hello, could I please place an order?"

You laugh until he finishes the order.

you will never catch porter with dirt on his shoes. it's a product of his paladin training; somehow, no matter where he goes or how long he wears them for, his shoes are always spotless. he has a cleaning kit that he brings everywhere with him during his free period you can find him polishing his boots.

jace prefers to stand over sitting but if he has the opportunity to sit on a counter or somewhere where he can kick his feet he prefers to do that instead. he's such a bad hoverer when they're at ruben's house he'll just stand in the threshold like no please. continue. i'm just hanging out.

love language hc:

porter's love language is quality time. he won't admit it, but he misses jace when he's not around and makes up excuses to spend time around him. he'll text jace at 2 am like u up but in like a hey wyd i miss u way. but ofc jace will read it in a fuckboy way. they do usually end up fucking when they're together for any extended period of time because porter refuses to tell jace that he just wants to be in the same room as him.

you would think jace's love language is physical touch. and you would be right. that's how he shows it, anyway. "always a duo"? yeah that's because jace literally always wants to be at porter's side. touching him, kissing him, fucking him. the first and only time they've ever spooned jace felt shrimp emotions.

what he really wants, though, is acts of service. he's so used for people making him do things for them, and with porter, it just becomes kind of another part of jace's normal routine. fall in love, get used, get hurt, rinse and repeat. but then porter starts helping him clean his house when his magic has him too wired to concentrate (paladin), washes the dishes that have been in there for too long, brings jace breakfast in the morning because he knows otherwise he's surviving on nicotine coffee and a dream, and jace doesn't really know what to do with that.

OMG I thought you would never ask!! 🥰

First of all, and most obviously, he's an AMAZING dad. Before the Kira case, he showed up for everything, and took as much paternity leave as he could. During the case, he obviously struggles with work-life balance, but he knows his kids come first. I think before the time skip, he had a really hard time missing out. He hated how much he was gone, but he also struggles with the guilt of feeling like he abandoned Ukita, but as he heals his grief, he accepts that he can be there. And soon, he's there at almost every game, performance, concert, play, you name it. If he's not, Eriko is recording it for him. He's also the kind of dad to pack his kids' favorite lunches when he gets the chance. It doesn't matter how unhealthy they are, Aizawa just wants to see them happy. Eriko is a little annoyed when Yumi comes home with Cheeto fingers and a stomach ache though lol.

Speaking of Eriko, I know this is super niche, but I head canon her as Jewish. I know that's super rare in Japan, but as a part-Asian Jew, I love the mix lol. I imagine her making matzo ball ramen and lox sushi! I think Aizawa, while goyische, is super supportive. He's great on Shabbat. On Saturday, he makes breakfast before the kids and Eriko wake up so they can have something warm without needing to use appliances. Although, even after being married for ten years, he still forgets if shrimp is kosher, but he remembers when Eriko gets mad at him for putting his leftover tempura in the fridge ("I accepted a trief husband, but I will not accept a trief house!!!").

Oh and I totally imagine Matsuda making quite a few blunders about this hfkjdfhjdjk. He means well, but it comes out wrong sometimes. Like the first time he learns she's Jewish, he immediately says "Oh so that's why you guys never hosted the Christmas party" and Soichiro is quick to be like "MATSUDA." He definitely accidentally gifts Eriko a pentagram... Twice. He really did his research the second time, but they look so similar!!! He does finally get her a Magen David the third time though lol.

I also think Aizawa is a car guy, like the kind of car guy who can see a single frame of a car go past in a movie and identify the make, model, and, year. He's always browsing those vintage car auction sites and he regularly shows Eriko the old car he desperately needs, and she has to be like "your money needs to go feeding our children and not a 50 year old car" and he's like a little kid when he says "but I waaaaaaaant it," and I definitely think he takes Yumi to cars and coffee with him. He always gets her a pastry and hot chocolate. She always wants to try his coffee and every time she freaks out at how bitter it is, but he has such an emotional moment when he takes her as a teenager and she orders her own coffee, and he's like "my little girl is growing up 🥺."

And, going back in time a little bit, when Eriko is pregnant with Yumi, I don't imagine Aizawa being super open about it since he prefers to keep his work and private life more separate. So, it's not until his wife is like 8 and a half months pregnant that he goes to Soichiro to ask for paternity leave, and Soichiro is like "YOU'RE HAVING A BABY???? YOU'RE MARRIED???" and he gets absolutely peppered with questions and excitement that he has to awkwardly accept from the whole office before he gets his paternity leave approved lol.

SYNOPSIS ꒱ Jake just wanted to buy some shrimp tacos for him and his friends. But instead, he left with one empty taco shell and a flustered face— and all because of a Taco Town worker named Y/N.

“…You’re here for an interview?” Jaemin asked, with an eyebrow raised at the boy who stood in front of him.

Jake, known by Jaemin as ‘Taco Shell Guy’, grinned. “Yes! Is the manager here?”

“I’m the manager.”

“Oh… Can I have an interview then?”

It was clear to Jaemin that he had never interviewed for any previous jobs. In a way he found it funny, but he didn’t want to hire Taco Shell Guy. It was just a feeling that Jaemin got from being around him.

Still, Jaemin couldn’t let his personal bias get in the way of hiring new employees, so he proceeded to lead Jake into the employees room and sat him down at the table.

Jaemin pulled out a notebook. “Okay, let’s start. What’s your full legal name?”

“Sim Jaeyun, but you can call me Jake.”

“I’ll stick with Jaeyun...” Jaemin sighed. He did not want to hire this guy. “Do you have a resume I can look at?”

Jake pursed his lips. “Did I need one?”

He was already annoyed with Jake, for a reason he didn’t want to confirm, but he had to stay professional so Jaemin just shook his head. “No, it’s fine. Can you tell me of any past work experience you’ve had?”

“Hm, well I used to babysit mom’s friend’s children!”

“So would you say you’re good with children?”

Jake chuckled, and then paused while nervously biting his lip. “No.”

“What about any hobbies you like to do?”

“Does soccer count even if I’ve been benched for most of the season?”

Jaemin nodded. “That still counts.” It was less impressive, but it was still a hobby. “How would you describe yourself in 3 words?”

At this, Jake perked up and snapped his fingers. “Jaeyun, certified, rizzmaster.”

“Okay… Why do you want to work at Taco Town?”

Jake opened his mouth to give the real reason, because he wanted to work with the cute girl who gave him an empty taco shell, but he figured that wasn’t the best decision. “Because I love tacos and also I love towns! So tacos inside of towns are my favorite kind, and towns with tacos are also my favorite. Therefore I want to work here.”

Jake pulled that out of his ass.

It seemed that he was a lost cause, or at least it was very unlikely Jaemin would hire Jake. It wasn’t as if Taco Town needed new workers anyways, and having someone as inexperienced and unlikeable (at least in Jaemin’s point of view) as Jake wouldn’t be of much help.

But Jaemin still had one question to ask, and he figured he might as well ask it before not hiring Jake.

“Okay, last question. Can you speak Spanish? It’s not a requirement for working here, but we do like to know if any possible incoming workers can communicate effectively with Spanish speaking customers as this is a taco restaurant.”

“¡Sí, en realidad puedo hablar español con fluidez! Estudié en Ecuador durante aproximadamente 2 años, y en ese tiempo pude perfeccionar mi español y realmente conectarme con la cultura.”

Jaemin blinked at him. He didn’t expect Jake to respond in fluent Spanish, and he certainly didn’t understand a single word he said.

Despite his past biases towards Jake, he was exactly what Taco Town was missing. He just needed a little bit of… shaping. But Jaemin would keep a close eye on him for a while.

“Congrats Jaeyun, you’re hired!” Jaemin gave him a thumbs up.

“Really?!” Jake gasped. “Now I can see Y/- I can be around tacos and towns all the time!”

Jaemin really had to keep a close eye on Jake, especially around a certain someone.

Jake was just lucky he could speak Spanish.

♡ - i'd like to think that jade has always looked up to and respected trey, but when he realized "oh, this guy is not as normal as he says he is" he is just infatuated and needs to study him. like a freak.

☆ - i think trey is someone who sees the best in people. like, he could be seeing the scary parts of jade, he just finds him silly and interesting though. riddle is distressed like, "you DO NOT want that guy." but trey is like "i could fix him" when jade is Actively trying to make him worse.

♡ - jade definitely fell first, but that doesn't mean trey didn't Also fall fast. trey was sort of interested in him, and jade instantly picked up on this and started toying with him. anything from offhanded comments about how nice he looks or how polite he is to just straight up "i heard you were interested in dentistry. can you look at my teeth" and then he does Not wait for an answer. trey is conflicted about this!!! floyd and azul are so disturbed at jade just opening his mouth like that in public.

☆ - trey has a horrible sense of humor. jade also has a horrible sense of humor and will laugh at any of his godawful jokes or puns. (have you seen the shrimp flied rice comic)

♡ - as for how they got together, trey would probably confide in cater about his crush (and he is Absolutely eating this up btw it's so funny to him) and he's like "oh dw trey-kun, i'll be your wingman kk??" and trey is like "oh my god no.." but it's too late.

☆ - with cater on the case, he is like. coaching him on what to say and what to do. "sit with him at lunch, compliment him, get to know him better, walk him back to his dorm, Ask Him Out OMG WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG..." and trey somehow fails at all of these things but this is amusing to jade. "your eyes are like... um. leucoprinus birnbaumii and. tilled soil?" "aw, are you flirting with me?"

♡ - azul also gets wind of this information also and is like "i can tell you any amount of information on jade's interests right now if you become the dessert chef for the mostro lounge exclusively- sign here." trey said no, but azul is still pushing. so now trey has like the shoulder angel and devil thing going on with azul and cater... but they're both devils.

♡ - in the meantime, they're Not Dating, but jade keeps asking trey to spend time with him. "i was just about to check on the mushrooms i've been growing, would you like to accompany me?" "if you aren't busy this weekend, i was wondering if you could join me on my next hike. it's just so lonely on the mountains by myself... camping would be so much more fun with friends..." trey says yes because his internal monologue is like "how could i possibly say no..." (riddle is shaking his head defeatedly, like, "just come back alive").

☆ - trey is about to just Give Up at the end of his third year, since they won't be on the same campus or anything anymore, but suddenly jade is like "can we exchange contact information, i think i'll miss you the most.." and so they do that. And are Not Dating Still.

♡ - during his off-campus year, trey studies dentistry and also spends a lot of time messaging jade and when they're both free they arrange meet-ups. cater is still trying to wingman over the phone and trey is like "no, we're still just talking..." and At The Same Time floyd keeps asking jade when he's gonna break up with that guy and jade is like "oh, but we haven't even started dating yet."

☆ - after trey is done with his studies at NRC, he decides to spend a year back at home with his family. as luck would have it, jade is spending his 4th year in the queendom of roses to study mycology (and a little bit of anthropology also, but mostly the mushrooms, molds, and yeast interests him). and he reasons "what better place to study yeast than a bakery!" trey feels absolutely insane when he asks his parents to let jade stay with them for a year. but they say yes because they as just so nice ("as long as he helps in the bakery" was also a condition).

♡ - they were not expecting a merman though and are quite shocked by the very tall eel with razors for teeth politely introducing himself one day. trey's siblings like him though! they ask him all about the ocean and his studies and nrc and even just about what trey was like at school (trey keeps shutting this specific topic down). jade helps with cooking and cleaning around the house and mr. and mrs. clover both appreciate him for it.

☆ - at some point, the two stay up really late together (they're both studying) and trey just finally blurts out that he likes him. jade just goes "i know." with a smile and asks him out. trey is shocked because he had waited Forever to ask it but its too late now. he laughs it off and says yes. they kiss (followed by jade quipping that it was not customary to kiss on the first date, to which trey responds that is was Hardly their first date and jade goes "touché")

♡ - you would think i would end this here because you asked about how they got together but i can't because i havs not gotten to the part where trey 1) actually comes out to his parents and 2) tells them that he's going out with jade

☆ - but anyways, yes, he comes out to his parents and they accept him for who he is. his mom also mentions that she assumed that he and jade were Already dating and he just wasn't ready to tell them yet. trey vehemently denies this and jade is just laughing. trey also texts cater and cater replies saying "tell jade i said i'm so happy for him and his ugly fking bf i'm serious /ref <3333" he also tells riddle who Actually says something positive. jade tells floyd and azul, who reply "can you divorce him yet" and "congrats! is he willing to work for me now" respectively (they really all are happy for them btw)

♡ - they do go on dates mostly outside on walks or hikes when they have time to spare. trey talks about the history of the area and jade identifies different organisms and infodumps about them as trey listens intently. if they see the same thing again, jade will say its name and trey will recall something jade said about it before, which makes jade happy.

☆ - neither is big on pda (unless they get jealous, which is infrequent), but they will hold hands when they're alone. they both tend to go more with acts of service and just quality time with one another, so generally they will do things like cook for the other or engage in activities that the other likes.

♡ - they do visit the coral sea, but it's more of an annual trip. usually, if jade wants to see azul or floyd, it's on land because azul's franchise is on land.
