i cannot emphasize enough how much my entire academic situation is currently hinging on receiving an email from one (1) person

#quil's unholy underworld #i emailed her a couple weeks ago but like. that was summer so i wasn't surprised to have no response #but i would've expected to hear from her in the past week. since the class is a special situation. and that's what she's done in the past #and now i'm like. please. the class on the schedule starts TOMORROW #i need to know if that is correct. OR. if like the other semester. this one starts a week late #AND if it's actually t tr or if it should me m/w in the system #which THEN impacts this OTHER thing that is really crucial #if it's for sure t/tr #i need to fill out a form explaining why i still can't take this other required class #which is marking me in the system as 'failing to make academic progress'#literally one class one credit hour.#that i have been unable to take purely because of these classes #and I need to petition them to be like hey. i'm actually do a whole shit load of stuff this ONE class is an outlier #but if it's m/w. then I need to resign up for that class. and drop another one #and then i WON'T have to petition #SO PLEASE FUCKING EMAIL ME ALREADY

BUT IT'S 7PM!!!!!#fresno oilers.txt #also at work we have this college freshman who is u know very female college freshman still learning how to advocate for herself #and that she's allowed to take up space in this world. i am sure many of my people who were women in college know what i mean #and she had been doing this task for like 4 hours and i said hey has anyone checked on r lately and everyone said why would we do that #and i said. bc she has been doing a task for 4 hours and no one has seen her???#and they were like oh she knows she can takes breaks #i was like i guarantee she is too scared to do that. so i went and asked if she wanted me to get her water or a snack or anything #and she was like oh. i'm allowed to take breaks. um i'm gonna go get a snack. and she ran to the breakroom #i was like GUYS!!!!!! but then i remembered i'm the oldest by like over a decade except for some of the supervisors and the managers #so i couldn't even really get that mad bc it was like well this is just stuff you learn from being old #like no one comes out of the gate thinking huh i better check on my young coworker who doesn't know she's allowed to exist #as a human with needs such as ''snack'' or ''break''#anyway. every shift i learn something new about humanity. today a finance bro told me he had a hole in his arm #i said why do you have a hole in your arm #and he said oh i got tased. and i said why did you get tased. and he said oh me and my friends were tasing each other #and i said why did you and your friends just casually have a taser #and he said oh we found it. so we decided to try it out on each other. you get used to being tased after a couple rounds.#and the housekeeper told me to go fish beer cans out of the trash and i was so grateful to have an exit to that conversation

So I actually sat down to watch the BBC special of TT Boybands Forever cause I was really interested after the way Robbie talked about Gary being stitched up and also I just love watching this kinda stuff just finished the Boyzone Documentary. Let's just say I have thoughts - I'm going to put them in the tags (and I had a lot of thoughts). I'd say it's worth watching yourself and making your own opinion.

thank you <3 to be clear so far i haven't encountered anyone who's been uncaring or unaccommodating about it. i'm mostly just frustrated at...not necessarily myself, i guess, but at the mere fact of experiencing new existential challenges in my daily life. it's hard and scary to admit that i'm struggling, it's hard to ask for help, and it's hard to do so with the knowledge that most people have very little real way to help other than going "that's rough, buddy"

#sasha answers #anon #'existential challenges' ie namely coming to realize that my migraines are a bigger problem for me than i thought #and that my most recent medication adjustment in the effort of preventing migraines is causing different (arguably more pressing) problems #by making me. just. so tired. like not the usual 'in grad school and working 2 jobs and playing oboe' tired that i'm used to #but 'slept in til almost noon; got groceries; and felt like i needed to take a nap immediately after' tired.#'weeks behind on assigned readings' tired. 'turned in an assignment days late' tired #and beyond just being drowsy and physically exhausted i'm not thinking as quick as i usual am.#i don't think i've understood what brain fog really felt like til now but i really feel like i'm just. out of focus now #like realizing you need to wear glasses suddenly. although i've been wearing literal glasses for a decade and a half by now lol #anyway. i appreciate your care #this is all quite new to me. and i suspect a product of my most recent medication adjustment #since my symptoms line up with the common side effects and reported anecdotal experiences of other users of this particular med #i messaged my doctor about it for advice. so hopefully i can do something about it soon #and re: 'most people can't help' i mean to say that i live alone and have to like cook and clean and take care of myself alone #and the world outside of my brain is also experiencing some crazy bull shit that's just added stressors for myself and everyone else #from my university going through. some stuff. and the country.
