🍯 aka A. A. Milne’s birthday (Jan 18th)! These books/movies/shows/characters have been my absolute favourites since forever (or since i was physically a toddler anyway)!!

🐻 Pooh Bear was first published in 1926!

🍯 Fun fact - Winnie the Pooh (the original teddy bear) was named after a canadian black bear ‘Winnie’ at London Zoo! Winnie has her own kids book by Lindsay Mattick called ‘Finding Winnie’ about how she was rescued by a Canadian vet when she was a cub!

🐻 Owl n Rabbit were the only two not based on toys! Instead they were inspired by animals on AA Milnes’ farm!!

🍯 Cambridge University’s Pembroke College has a Winnie The Pooh Society! They meet every Saturday at 4pm during term to drink tea and read A.A.Milne’s books! (I just thought this was cool!)

🐻 Poohsticks is a real game you can play, and theres a world Poohsticks championships held each year in Oxfordshire, England in May! Theres also a Winnie the Pooh festival held annually in White River, Ontario, Canada in August!

Regressor Emotions Headcanons (Inside Out 2)

@imjustaspie and Anon suggested regressor Anxiety headcanons, but I just could’ve leave the others out. XD Bonus Nostalgia!

Anxiety

She is incredibly nervous about regressing for the first time. Relaxing is hard enough for her; being emotionally vulnerable is terrifying. But, with the others’ help, she eventually starts regressing.

She is a crier. Any little mistake starts the sad tears, and the slightest kindness makes her weepy.

She is super snuggly, cuddling up to everyone. She needs all the hugs.

Her regular life involves a lot of long nights, so when she’s regressed she’s a frequent napper.

She LOVES visiting Imagination Land when she’s regressed. She runs wild in the pillow fort and blows giant soap bubbles and completely forgets her fears.

Embarrassment 

He’s the only purely involuntary regressor out of the Headquarter’s crew. He usually slips after he’s done something he feels is super wrong.

He needs a lot of patient reassurance to convince him that his mistakes are fixable and that he’s not bad for messing up once in a while.

His favorite activity is coloring. He loves coloring sheets and always runs to show his completed pictures to Sadness.

He often forgets how big he is and asks to be picked up. The other emotions make him a big hammock swing so he can feel like he’s being held.

He’s a pacifier guy, and almost always has one in his mouth. Even when he’s not actually regressed he finds them soothing.

Ennui

She’s obviously a tech kid, constantly playing games on her phone.

She can be very whiny when she doesn’t want to do something. “That’s boring! YOU’RE boring!”

(But she always does the thing anyway, because she’s little and the others are The Boss.)

She LOVES action movies and regresses even deeper while she’s watching them.

All her pleases and thank yous are in French, and she says them sparingly. You know she’s really grateful when she mumbles “Merci”.

Envy

She’s a major hair toucher; she loves to play with (and tug on) hair, both her own and other peoples’.

She loves being carried around and gets all wiggly from excitement.

She frequently borrows one of Embarrassment’s hoodies and runs around, dragging fabric and giggling like crazy.

She loves to play with the others, though she sometimes needs a reminder to not snatch toys.

Everything she sees is cool! Everything is awesome! She wants to experience everything!

Nostalgia

She prefers classic cartoons and movies; things like “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You” and “Fantasia”.

She also loves children’s books - “Matilda”, “Little Lord Fauntleroy”, “The Swiss Family Robinson”, etc.

She’s not a play-pretender, but she loves looking at and collecting toys.

She crafts glasses chains for herself, and changes them out frequently. (They are a necessity, by the way - she will lose her glasses in seconds without a chain.)

She likes to watch memories of Riley playing. Even if she doesn’t play along, watching makes her feel smaller.

Things to Do with Plushies that aren’t Traditional Pretend Play

If you regress/dream to an older age range, you might not play pretend as often, if at all. That said, there’s no reason why you still can’t enjoy your plushies’ company.

Cuddle them as you go to sleep. This one is pretty obvious, but I think it deserves a place on this list.

Make them little Kandi collars with their name in letter beads. You can make a matching bracelet or necklace for yourself too!

On that note, sew clothes for them and dress them up. This one might require some supervision because of the pins and needles, but it’s usually worth it.

Set them up so that they look like they’re doing the same activity as you are. (Putting a controller in front of them if you’re gaming, pretending to feed them bits of your meal, setting them up in front of the TV so they can enjoy the programs with you, etc) This one veers into pretend play, but it’s not as involved so I figured I’d include it.

Put them into your purse/backpack/bag so they can keep you company on your errands or other trips you take.

Set them up in nature or around the house and take photos of them. You can even scrapbook with the photos.

If they are sturdy enough, give them a bubble bath and then either stick them in a pillowcase and put it in the dryer, or air dry them in the sun. This is good for bonding with them, and general maintenance to keep them clean.

Write about them. You can make little character profiles for them, or even full stories! This is good if you have a hard time playing pretend but you still want to feature them in imaginative contexts.

Draw/paint pictures of them and hang them on your wall!

Finally, if this is something you’re up for, set up a side blog for your favorite plushie and document their life online. Make blog posts from their perspective, have them take “selfies” etc!

Caregiver Emotions Headcanons (Inside Out 2)

Anxiety

She in incredibly protective, doing all she can to ensure you’re safe and happy. (And yes, she can be a little TOO protective at times, but she’s trying to get better about reigning herself in.)

She always has your regression gear with her and she has emergency regression hiding spots mapped out for every place you go.

She is a huge ball of energy and always up for playing with you.

If you’re a quieter, calmer regressor, she feels a little less confident in herself; but with the help of the other emotions, she’s getting better about relaxing, and she tries very hard to apply these calming techniques when she’s with you.

If you have panic attacks, Anxiety does absolutely everything she can to help you work through them, and she’s a source of immense comfort in the aftermath.

Embarrassment

He worries a LOT about whether he’s a good caregiver for you…

But when you need him, he steps up big time. All his doubts get put on the back burner the second you start crying or get scared of something.

He doesn’t feel comfortable giving you rules, but he “strongly encourages” you to do certain things.

(One of these things is to stay offline while you’re regressed. He worries you might stumble across something scary.)

He’s not always much of a talker himself, so he completely understands if you like to keep things quiet or if you experience verbal shutdown. He never presses you to talk when you’re unable or uncomfortable.

Ennui

You thought Disgust was good at helping you act big when you’re regressed? Ennui is even better. If you regress when you don’t want to, she lets you copy her behaviors to seem as unaffected as possible to others.

She has all the kid games on her phone. All of them. Every single one.

If you don’t know French, she’ll teach you. If you DO know French, she’ll treat it like it’s a secret language the two of you share.

Her hair is long and straight, and if you’re the kind of regressor who likes to play with hair, she’ll tolerate literal hours of braiding and styling.

You see her smile more than anyone else does, because absolutely everything you do is interesting to her.

Envy

She is the worst (best) when it comes to spoiling you. She constantly showers you with new toys and blankets and pacifiers; she can’t help herself, you just deserve it!

She is constantly complimenting you, going on and on about how cute and sweet and small you are.

She loves to look at moodboards and agere outfits with you, admiring all the cool styles other people create.

(And then she encourages you to create your own, and spends literal days obsessing over what you make.)

As small as she is, she always manages to make you feel smaller.

Bonus: Nostalgia

(Yes, she was barely in the movie, but I still love her XD)

Nothing you do can upset her; even the loudest tantrum is met with fond chuckling and affectionate words.

She loves to bake with you, and she makes the absolute best cookies.

Yes, she has heard of that weird obscure children’s movie; and yes, she would love to watch it with you.

She’s definitely a scrapbooker and has a half dozen books filled with pictures of you.

She has a nursery full of vintage toys for you to play in.
