Shit shit shit. Blood was never a good sign, Yelena knew that. Even in pain and feeling small, Yelena knew that blood was supposed to stay inside her body. Her new black suit had covered the blood throughout the fight but now as she was cleaning up afterwards she’d found a deep cut across the side of her torso. It stung but she was used to the pain, it wasn’t the first time she’d been injured, but the blood was bad and the sight made her head feel fuzzy and small.

This didn’t make her incapable though - Yelena had been cleaning up injuries far worse than this since she was 6. She cleaned and bandaged her cut, albeit with a fair bit more wincing and whining than normal. It still hurt though, worse because feeling small always made her a bit more sensitive. She couldn’t help crying a little bit, she never ever cried when she was big, ever, but she wasn’t big right now. James - Bucky - who had gone on the mission with her was sitting right outside the motel bathroom and Yelena did not want him to see her cry. Yelena rubbed at her eyes frustratedly, huffing and puffing and stomping her feet when she couldn’t stop the tears. “Yelena? Is everything ok in there?” Bucky called out. Yelena pouted, not wanting to lie but not wanting to worry him either. She opened the door with uncharacteristic hesitancy and a pout on her face.

Bucky immediately noticed Yelena’s regressed state and sighed softly with an understanding smile. “Oh little pup, what’s the matter?” Yelena huffed and shuffled across the motel room to where Bucky was sitting on the edge of one of the dusty old beds.

“Owie,” she frowned, crawling into Bucky’s lap.

“Oh kiddo,” Bucky frowned, rubbing firm but gentle circles on her back with his non-metal hand. He knew she had to be pretty injured to regress so quickly and so openly in front of him. Whilst they’d known each other for a while now, and he’d known about her regression almost as long, Yelena was hesitant to trust anyone - especially when it came to her little side. “Do you need me to clean it up?”

“No.” She grumbled, taking offence to the insinuation that she didn’t know how to clean up her own injury.

“Alright, alright, just checking, wouldn’t want you to get an infection now would we little pup?”

“‘Nfection bad,” Yelena mumbled. Bucky nodded in agreement and gently petted Yelena’s hair. He held her for a moment longer before Yelena grew restless, squirming around in Bucky’s arms. “Wan’ play.”

“Did you bring any toys?” Bucky asked, assuming Yelena hadn’t expected to regress while on the mission.

“No,” she frowned sadly, remembering her toys which had been left in the safety of her apartment.

Bucky thought for a moment, glancing around the bland motel room. “Ok, give me five minutes kiddo and I’ll figure something out.”

Yelena shuffled off Bucky’s lap, being careful not to irritate her injury too much. She watched in confusion as Bucky moved around the room, picking up blankets and pillows. It took a few minutes before she figured out what he was doing. Yelena hadn’t been in a blanket fort since she’d lived in Ohio. Her chest fluttered with excitement as she squirmed and clapped her hands happily. “You excited Любимая?” Bucky questioned, glancing up from the blankets he was spreading over the table with a smile.

“‘Essited!” Yelena squealed, all discomfort forgotten.

Once Bucky had finished setting up he beckoned Yelena over to him, she slipped off the bed and crawled across the floor and into the fort. There were blankets all around the table and pillows on the floor creating a cozy nest just the right size for Bucky and Yelena to cuddle. Bucky let Yelena burrow against him, finding safety in his firm presence beside her and the small space blocking out any possible threats. Whilst they hid under the table Bucky pulled out a small torch and held it up to a blanket. He used the lights to create shadow puppets. Yelena had never seen anything like it! She clapped as he displayed a bunny and then a butterfly. With the help of his metal hand allowing the extra flexibility, Bucky became more adventurous - creating dinosaurs and flowers for Yelena to watch. She giggled and awed at the sights, calming down completely.

Is it just me or is there way less fanart being made for this game than the previous ones? Kind of makes me sad, I remember with dai I could check the tags every few hours and find something new weeks after launch, now I only can get away with only looking a few times and week and miss nothing.

Things I and my mutuals draw now are getting less notes/reblogs than they did even one year ago, regardless of the fandom. Fanfiction is getting less comments and kudos on ao3 too (not that they were getting many comments in the first place) Less gifs are being made because gif makers weren't getting reblogs. Hell, most of the post I make have a huge discrepancy between likes and reblogs and add polls into that? A thousand people voted on something and only a dozen people reblog it. It's a hollowing feeling when you realise you're calling out to an empty void, I don't blame people for creating less art because of that.

I don't see a vast majority of the people who follow me in my notes because I have likes disabled. Multiple times someone has sent me an ask apologizing for spamming me with likes and I don't understand it? That is not a bad thing And unless you reblogged anything along the way, I didn't even realise you were doing it in the first place. And the people whose notes I do see are not annoying in the slightest, I love the tags you add and I'm sure the original poster does even more so

I'm not trying to shame anyone Into interacting with the fandom spaces they're in but the whole point of Tumblr and what makes it a blogging platform and not social media is that this is a show and tell website. You're supposed to look at something you think is cool and then wave it around for your followers to see and then they pick it up and do the same regardless of how old it is

When you reblog an ask game from someone it used to be common courtesy to send that person one of the asks from it. Folks used to leave comments analysing paragraphs from stories people wrote and theorising about what would happen next on every chapter. We used to send each other asks just asking about our ocs unprompted

If there's no interaction or community when you create something, then what's the point of creating it? It sucks that fandom is morphing into something to be consumed and thrown away the second it's more than a week old unless you're one of a handful of blogs that got lucky and picked up traction at just the right moment

I'm sorry for the rant but I get emotional when I think about the decay of fandom spaces for too long. And this goes without saying, but you guys can reblog anything on my dash if the button isn't disabled on it

I really want to see a more fucked up version of Charlie in canon. Like, okay, I am a die-hard for sweet bubbly girls in media. But I always see how some people make Charlie actually, oh I dunno... demonic? And it's so refreshing for her type of character. I could honestly see her having low empathy (and we kinda see this with how she handled Angel's situation or even Vaggie's nervousness about taking control on an activity). An exploration of that trait (if it was intended) would be interesting to see for a protagonist, especially when her main goal is about helping others. I would love to see her actually have a level of difficulty in understanding others' feelings from the other residents, sinners, and even her father.

But give her a fucked up side. Not a "she gets more power when she's angey uwu", but a "oh, she's a little fucked in the head". It would give so much to her character that she just doesn't have.

@/murmurmurena (don't wanna bother them so slash there we go) has some fun ideas with Charlie. I highly encourage people to check their stuff out! So many fun dark ideas with her character while also still keeping to her canon personality pretty well! Personally, I think Charlie being a bit more naive to her own messed up traits would work best but her also being aware of these traits can make for some interesting character for her.

THIS FIC, "A Game Between You and I". RIGHT HERE WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER. A bit of spoil for the fic here: but I love how they handled Charlie’s absolute ignorance as to why the idea of Russian roulette is horrifying to Angel Dust. It doesn't feel like her being intentionally malicious or aware that she's the odd man out here. This is also a pretty old fic going by only the pilot, but the point still stands that it was such a fun take for her character!

Charlie is one of my favorite characters in the show in part of the POTENTIAL she could have as being the most bubbly sweetheart character while also being the most messed up character in the show. I can't say I have strong confidence with the show's writing and fully expect them to stick with Charlie being the "nice girl but oh no, don't get her angry or she gets scarwy". Which isn't bad for a character mind you, there's just so much more potential to Charlie outside of that trope, especially when you get into the theories of her either being a doll, Roo's biological daughter, or what have you. And for the MAIN CHARACTER of the show, it would be not only interesting but also bring the spotlight back to her.

There's really no question that the side characters steal the show, particularly all the male characters. If I'm honest, Charlie does not feel like she gets a lot of love from the show itself when she's supposed to be the main character. She feels far more flat compared to the rest of the characters (again, the male cast in this "female-lead" show has more depth than most of the female cast currently. I wouldn't be pointing this tidbit concerning the genders of characters if it weren't for the fact Viv defended Helluva's lack of development with their female cast by saying "Hazbin is a female-lead show and Helluva is a male-lead" and Hazbin ended up with it not feeling female lead (to me) and the male cast just completely stealing the show. I don't normally care about gender stuff, especially since I do personally lean interest towards male characters. But using one show as a defense for poor development of the female characters, and then that show not really holding up with no very interesting well-developed feeling female characters irritates me. It's just very clear that these shows don't seem to care much about the female cast :/)

If you like how Charlie is written that's totally fine. PERSONALLY, I just think they're missing so much opportunity with her character by just making her the standard female character type. I honestly don't have a lot of faith they'll actually do something with Charlie's character though. She's a pretty static character in S1 being the same from start to end. Not changing or learning anything to create any development. What does the end of season Charlie do that start of season Charlie wouldn't do? Fight back? Because we see with the pilot (which is the “first episode”) that Charlie does fight people if pushed like with Katie Killjoy and even Valentino. Static characters can work in media depending on the show or their role. But Charlie is the MC of a show about “bettering one's self”. So to have her as a static with not a lot of strong dilemmas for herself (like we see with Angel Husk Al and even Vox) seems silly. Plus, considering Hazbin is telling a whole story and it's not a fun episodic thing, characters are expected to grow on some level. Or else, what was the point of their hero's journey?

i know world tour rewrites are probably overdone by now but i wanna see an alenoah world tour rewrite where pretty much everything is the same but (predictably) it changes at/around i see london

so in this rewrite, pre-london, similarly to canon alejandro is flirting with other teams to get them off their game and eliminate them (cough cough bridgette, leshawna, etc) but he thinks it’d be a good idea to flirt with someone on his own team- not to throw them off their game, but to get a closer bond with them and hopefully a steady alliance once merge rolls around. after all, it’s easier to get closer to a team member than an enemy right now.

he’s weighing up his options and he Hates owen, izzy is Insane, and tyler serves no use to him, which leaves noah.. alejandro thinks he’ll be a good choice since while noah is weak he does somewhat try in challenges and he is very smart, so having him as an ally will benefit alejandro, also he genuinely enjoys noah company, viewing him as being on the same level as him in levels of wit/intelligence/humour, so boom it’s settled, noah will be his ally post-merge

anyway back to i see london, the episode goes the same up until the elimination ceremony, alejandro yaps in the confessional about it being unfair that chris let team amazon win since his team were the ones that actually caught the ripper-type guy. he also knows that since he was caught before the challenge even started, he’s probably going home !! so he needs to figure out a way to gaslight gatekeep girlboss everyone and stay in the game

he, like in canon, is of course irritated at noah for talking about him behind his back and thinks about eliminating him, despite previously thinking he’d be a good ally. this is where i diverge fully from canon and say he can’t really risk losing an ally here and maybe, without noah having the influence of anyone else, he’ll be able to turn things around with him. izzy is already gone so if alejandro eliminates owen, then noah will have no other allies and most likely be searching for one, so this is where alejandro can swoop back in and continue to ally with him (while definitely planning to use him for his intelligence and double cross him later as revenge for gossiping about him, and also because alejandro wants to win)

so with 2 votes for ale and 3 votes for owen, the big guy is sent packing and things are playing out the way alejandro wants them to. when he approaches noah for an alliance he’s surprised at how little convincing it takes, and he thinks this plan will be easier than he thought

hoooowever noah is also planning to double cross him and he approaches heather, despite disliking her, because he knows shes currently the only other one that can see through alejandro. he may not like heather but he knows she’s smart and a very capable player and hey, if things go south then it can’t be that hard to get her eliminated, because she’s literally heather

so just . AUFHHR i need this dynamic of noah and alejandro thinking they’re one step ahead of each other and they’ve got each other all figured out but they’re actually both just playing each other’s game and they have all the stupid flirty rival banter while they tango around their feelings for each other it’s great

and they dont even have to be final 2 !!! maybe their plans crumble and they end up voted off and get into some tense aftermath segment and have a very chaotic game of “truth or volcanic eruption” !!

LAES SPOILERS AHEAD

So I just finished catching up on all the recent episodes and OH MY GOD DO I HAVE THOUGHTS (specifically about Eclipse and the newest laes episode because holy hell I’m reeling from it)

In the second half of the “HOW TO DEAL With The GRIEF of Losing SOLAR” episode on the laes after Monty leaves and Eclipse appears, I was very much expecting him to make his usual snarky remarks and mock Earth and Solar’s death in some way (though I was hoping he wouldn’t ofc)

Imagine my shock when he does none of those things and instead is much more mellow and even softer/nicer—by his standards at least—and just looks around briefly and asks questions and just stands and actually LISTENS to what Earth says with barley if any semblance of his usual snark. The fact that he actually lets her talk about her feelings and everything and rant without cutting in to be his usual snarky self is EVERYTHING TO ME.

AND WHATS EVEN MORE; the fact that he asked her “do you really need him (Solar)” and when she said “yes” he didn’t say anything and just sighed as if in defeat. I think we all knew before from the previous episodes that he was battling with wether to actually help aid in bringing Solar back or not after his encounters with Puppet and Frank, but it seems to me that with this scene with him and Earth AND how it was mentioned by Sun that he was wiping the floor in Sun’s and Moon’s house that he has maybe decided that he IS going to help, or at least is reasoning with himself as to if he should or not.

With all the questions he was asking Earth it makes me think the ladder is true.

I also love the fact that despite her still very much grieving and breaking down at the loss of Solar (as we all are), she still expressed sympathy towards Eclipse and him not having anybody to lean on nor him being able to understand that kind of bond or trust. Even with this is brought up Eclipse just…kind of agrees to some of it and then deflects as usual but one thing caught my attention when he said “it looks like you need it (sympathy) more than I do anyways” and though he doesn’t directly offer it, I think the fact that he just stays there for a bit to listen to her and maybe even take in her opinions and feelings towards Solar and Ruin into consideration for whatever he’s planning to do is his own way—however unintentional it may be—of offering his own small bit of support. Hell, he definitely got Earth to talk a bit more about what she was feeling in regards to the situation and Solar.

Hate him all you want, everyone is inclined to their own opinions ofc, but Eclipse was so different from how he usually is this episode and I think things have slowly been changing for him for awhile. Before it was almost certain that when this was all over that he’d be dead in an instant without a thought…but now? Now I don’t think that’s going to be his fate anymore, and this and other recent episodes have only proved that to me.

He actually listened to Moon about not killing Ruin, he is obviously at least considering in helping to bring back Solar if what he did at Sun’s and Moon’s house and the questions he asked Earth are any indication, and the way he was just willing to stand there and just listen to Earth with barely if any a hint of his usual attitude and hold a rather peaceful conversation with her and even be quite NICE about it by his standards.

I think wholeheartedly that Eclipse is improving steadily and slowly and I am very much manifesting not only a redemption arc but a friendship between him and Earth because so far she has been one of the most sympathetic and in some capacity caring of him and the borderline softness he showed today only brings my hopes up.

Okay rant over, I just really needed to put my thoughts out there because damn is my brain reeling with so many thoughts and feelings about this

🍯 Fun fact - Winnie the Pooh (the original teddy bear) was named after a canadian black bear ‘Winnie’ at London Zoo! Winnie has her own kids book by Lindsay Mattick called ‘Finding Winnie’ about how she was rescued by a Canadian vet when she was a cub!

🐻 Owl n Rabbit were the only two not based on toys! Instead they were inspired by animals on AA Milnes’ farm!!

🍯 Cambridge University’s Pembroke College has a Winnie The Pooh Society! They meet every Saturday at 4pm during term to drink tea and read A.A.Milne’s books! (I just thought this was cool!)

🐻 Poohsticks is a real game you can play, and theres a world Poohsticks championships held each year in Oxfordshire, England in May! Theres also a Winnie the Pooh festival held annually in White River, Ontario, Canada in August!
