Covert Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Covert NPD is a more internalized or hidden form of NPD. They are often more sensitive or self-doubtful and may put themselves down which conflicts with the 'traditional' image of a narcissist.

Viceroy butterfly to symbolize how they can be mistaken for being “normal” since they blend in more than an overt narcissist the same way viceroy butterflies get mistaken for monarchs. Green and brown to represent idfk being hidden or something.

Overt Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Overt NPD is the standard definition of a narcissist. They may overestimate their abilities compared to others and aren’t as likely to self-deprecate. You get the drill

Antagonistic Narcissistic Personality Disorder

A subcategory of overt narcissism, antagonistic narcissists are heavily engaged with other people to ‘compete’ with them. They’re characterized by their extremely likely tendency to argue and hold grudges, as well as antagonize others.

Fox as the symbol as they're competitive/territorial animals. Blue and Yellow (Gold) to symbolize first place medals or winning. Self-indulgent.

Communal Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Communal narcissists, another subcategory of overt, believe they’re better than others because of their high moral standing. They believe they’re morally superior but often do not follow what they preach and struggle to see their own insensitivity.

Lions cause they're often see as more superior animals. Blue because it's the most popular color.

Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Malignant narcissists, share traits with overt narcissists, but tend to be significantly more malicious and aggressive towards other people. They’re more likely to struggle with laws and often show antisocial (ASPD) traits.

After months, I am still on the rocks as to whether I have ASPD, or just display traits. Maybe there are some things we are never meant to know /ref /lyr /lh

So, I made this flag for NPD + ASPD and adjacent! It is general so it can be used by anyone who has either traits of NPD or ASPD or the disorders themselves.

Demon NPD / NPDemon flag: a flag for those with NPD who relate and/or identify as a demon, have a connection with, or are (whether in an otherkin way or another) a demon because of their NPD or some other reason; flag also strongly related to the rampant demonization of the disorder and the way people with NPD are treated like and compared to literal demons (black eyes, beast mode, sucking people's souls out, demonic spirits inside them, as well as the devil, the crowd cheered, obama was there, etc) by ableists, as a way to reclaim it; or if you don't know/are bald/some other infinitely nuanced explanation behind it

SUSPECTED NPD / MIDNIGHT NPD

someone who either suspects, has traits of, or otherwise cannot be 100% sure they have NPD, but still find it important enough to mention as they relate to experiences and need to note how they interact with others.

examples may include people who :

aren't able to properly self-diagnose (ex. memory issues, focus issues, not enough resources) and choose to say they're suspected instead

are in the process of getting diagnosed or on a waiting list

are an alter who has npd traits while the rest of the system doesn't have these traits

are unsure whether their symptoms are pervasive/affect their day-to-day enough to be a personality disorder

It may feel dull, inconsistent, or otherwise different from how those without NPD experience these things, and may cause issues in forming relationships or bonds. May or may not be part of the user's orientation and/or considered aspec.

This was coined to serve as an NPD version of Anisolix (link).
