#silm#silmarillion#lotr#rivendell#maglor#erestor#i hope you do not mind me borrowing garthaglir like a particularly cool rock on the playground#i imagine glorfindels arrival at rivendell like#he walks into the library and runs into garthaglir#both of them scream#but then later glorfindel sat him down and taught him to do fancy braids#now they are friends#later he was part of the redhorn pass search and rescue team out of loyalty to the people who took him in#(bonus points if he was originally a caradhras orc...)#he has joined glorfindel in Team Hair Down During Battle and elrond is so tired#although later he teaches elrond the local dialect of black speech#they spend weeks in the library transcribing texts and poring over the etymology of particularly quenya-derived words#orcs are kind of undead (see: aure entuluva battle) and elrond is weird and somewhat maiarin#somebody eventually forces them to go take a break after three weeks of nonstop linguistics-bonding#feanors ghost is Proud#(he also is glad that erestor eventually befriended lindir because hey! thats one grandkid who didnt disown everyone)#the one old feanorion and thingols guard both refuse to modernize their armor#elrohir is like 'you know mail is a thing now right?? leg armor has existed for two ages and youre still wearing your fancy battle robes'#to which both of them will yell something only vaguely understandable about modern armor being poorly made#and then proceed to fight about whose armor was actually more effective at the dagor nuin giliath#(theyre that old)

I dont think some people understand how truly awful and hellish withdrawals from some psych medications are.
#I feel like many many people see it as an overreaction when in reality someone actually feels like they are dying from wds#resent the fact that SO many doctors just prescribe shit all over the place nonstop without explaining the full risks n side effects#it’s scary as fuck honestly#I cannot tell y’all how many meds I have been put on that made me feel worse#or how many times I’ve ran out and not been able to pay for the shit#resulting in an absolute living fucking hell that does not let up until taking the substance again#meds are tricky.. it’s hard to have a definitive opinion in either direction (anti vs pro medication) because each individual is unique#sometimes meds save people’s lives#sometimes they make people suicidal#sometimes they cause complications that literally kill people#sometimes they’re exactly what someone needed to be okay#you just can’t generalize and say statements like ALL MEDS ARE BAD because that simply isn’t true#and you can’t assume everyone’s body/mind will react to a certain medication the same way yours did#oops#accidentally did a tag rant#rant#medical#psychiatry#medication#withdrawal#withdrawals#mental illness#mental health#psych meds#psych medications#medications#prescription medication#prescription medications#american healthcare#healthcare

while i’m on this topic. to anyone with “freaks dni” in their bio, do you know the history of the word ‘freak’? do you know that it came into common use because of freakshows, which largely showcased disabled people (specifically physically deformed people) and intersex people? do you know that to a lot of folks, even today, “sexual freak” is a direct synonym for “person who has consensual sex with someone of the same gender”? are you aware of the subjectivity of the word you’re using, and the historical (and current) hatred behind it, and the fact that people cannot read your mind and will not know what random groups of ‘disgusting’ people you’re talking about just from a single broad-purpose word?
