I really like Shuake, and I mean I really really like Shuake-

I think one of the reasons I like them so much is the idea that Joker saw the absolute worst of Akechi. To hear Goros story with his mom growing up, seeing the murder, the breakdown in the engine room, the entire way he acts in third semester (rude, abrasive, no detective prince charm anywhere). Yet still goes ‘I want that one’. To see the absolute worst someone has to offer and still love them is something so beautiful to me.

I also think about the third semester where Akechi wished to play chess with Joker. To me for the ship it kinda represents how when you truly love and care for someone you don’t need them to do something for you. Don’t need them to give something more than just their presence. Despite all the regret, all Akechi wanted was to be able to spend time with Joker, because in the end that’s what true connection is to me. The simple love for someone else’s mere presence

To me their ship is a whirlpool of trauma, bad decisions, mistakes, and conflict. Yet it’s also whirlpool of understanding, connection, forgiveness, and finding the place where you belong in a person

Sure your romantic interest murdering two friends father plus mother and then murdering you (trying to) is a major red flag- but they’re still cuties

They bring me comfort. The thought that my mistakes are not the end of me and there will be someone out there who will put in the effort to support me. Better yet someone who wishes for and enjoys my presence.
