nobody asked and idk anyone who is still reading for haikyuu (much less osaaka and atsusuna with me 😭) but I still like this bit from an old soulmates WIP that I want to share a bit of bc I'm so inspired by writing this one these days!!

“What?” Atsumu asks, a bit of panic making its way into his throat. “Who the fuck is it, Samu?”  Osamu doesn’t answer, eyes still stuck on the name written across Atsumu’s shoulder. Atsumu grabs the hand mirror perched on the counter and maneuvers himself to see his back in the larger bathroom mirror with it. At first, it’s too far away, looks like a scribble. Then he leans in closer and the scribble takes shape. Suna.  What? Atsumu looks again.  Suna.  “What?” Atsumu asks aloud, pure confusion in his voice. “How can he be both our soulmates?”  That seems to shock Osamu out of the daze he’s been in. Atsumu watches as Osamu snatches the hand mirror from him, taking his spot at the counter and peering at his own shoulder. Atsumu tries to read the name written there, but can only make out a few letters. It's a noticeably longer one. He reaches out to touch the name there, almost in an effort to make sure it’s real.

SunaAtsu/AtsuSuna headcanons you didn’t know you needed:

- these two absolutely love crappy reality tv shows. We’re talking shows like, real housewives, dance moms, toddlers and tiaras, love island, all that type of stuff

- they quote the shows so much to each other that some people think they’re two aliens speaking to each other

- one time during a school assembly there was an empty chair up on the stage. Atsumu turned to Suna and said “oh my God Sunarin…the empty chair is doin its solo”. They were promptly told off for snickering to themselves instead of paying attention

- one day Gin brought up how them watching these shows together was practically like a cute stay in date

- they started forcing Osamu to watch the shows with them from that day forward. They had to bribe him with the promise of snacks

- if they happened to end up somewhat snuggling after Osamu fell asleep out of boredom, they didn’t tell anyone

- Suna has a folder on his phone that’s labeled ‘school notes’ but it’s actually just pictures of Atsumu

- after they left school and joined their respective teams they organised a time to see each other every weekend to binge watch their favourite shows. They would switch who’s house they stay at every weekend. Osamu just so happened to have ‘business stuff’ every weekend just so he wouldn’t be forced to 3rd wheel those two oblivious idiots

- when Suna finally confessed Atsumu just stared at him before saying “did Samu turn ya down or somethin?”

“What the fuck do you mean by that Atsumu?”

“I mean my answer ain’t no but it would be nice ta know if I was yer second choice.”

“Why would you be my second choice?”

“I’m always people’s second choice.”

- Suna didn’t say anything to that and just kissed Atsumu. When they finally pulled apart Suna just said “you are my second choice, but you were my first choice too.”

Suna knew what he was getting into when he started dating, he really did. Having known each other since highschool he’d imagine he’d know everything he needed to know. What he didn’t know though was how extreme his boyfriend’s pettiness would become.

“Tsumu, babe. Come on, you can’t be angry at me forever.” Another pout that drove Suna absolutely crazy, how could he look so cute while being angry, it was ridiculous.

“Babee, I said I was sorry and I bought you another box of chocolates, what more do you want me to do? I’m begging here.” He could tell that Atsumu’s resolve to stay mad was dissipating so he came close to him.

Close enough to pepper him with little kisses and Atsumu laughed, all the petty anger gone.

The first time that happened he didn’t think that much of it.

But when his boyfriend kept getting pissed at him for every little thing for it to end the exact same way –Suna kissing him silly–, he started getting suspicious.

Those suspicions were proven right very soon, Atsumu had always been an honest drunk.

“Hey, Sunarin, babe.” Atsumu said, while poking Suna’s thigh. “Wanna know a secret?” That made him perk up.

“What secret?” He asked.

“Ya know all those times I get mad at ya?” Suna hummed at that, he’d been driving him crazy lately.

“I wasn't really mad at ya, I just wanted ya to kiss me.” Suna laughed and Atsumu smiled brightly at him.

The next day Atsumu didn’t remember a thing.

Suna kept the secret, he never said anything to his boyfriend about it and when Atsumu came back acting all annoyingly pretty about some stupid thing, Suna just came close and kissed him for hours.

In the end, any excuse was perfect if he got to kiss his stupidly beautiful boyfriend.
