Good evening everybody. Despite this being the month of #shocktober, I’m not dead yet and just like the title character: I’m back with a vengeance. The character in question is the invincible Black Adam from DC. My boy @brianshiarappa and I went to see the movie a few hours ago and needless to say; it was freaking epic! So well paced and action-packed. The Rock was perfect as Teth-Adam and the way he decimated the battle field was practically icing on the cake 🍰. Hawkman was kind of a prick, but Dr. Fate was awesome AF! Plus, the movie has a great moral: not every conflict can be seen in black-n-white. Sometimes life’s just one big shade of gray. Black Adam definitely fills the role of anti-hero perfectly. I highly recommend you check out this movie 🎥. 🩷BOOK REVIEW🩷

I love a good retelling of the fairytales and Alice in Wonderland is my favourite so I was so eager to read The Alice Curse.

The Alice Curse was so easy to fall into and once I started reading I didn't want to stop. This retelling had a unique twist and one that was done very well.

The world building in this novel was so richly enticing and vividly described I felt like I fell into that tree hole with Eliza.

The characters in The Alice Curse were all just fantastic straight from Finn to Chesa.

Finn being a rabbit as well as a human man, I didn't find this odd at all and maybe it's because I've read so many shifter novels that my brain actually understands it. The relationship dynamic between him and Eliza was brilliant and I was really rooting for them.

Chesa, as soon as she hit the page I knew this was a take on the Cheshire cat and I loved it. I thought her character, frustrating at times, was a fantastic concept. I really loved the way the characters were created and they all brought the story to life.

I honestly loved this read and that ending!

This novel gave me all the feels, it's just perfect.

But our mark isn’t the only one keeping secrets, and Theo’s proximity is… doing things to me. This man could fulfill every dark desire I’ve buried beneath the surface. Things even my twin doesn’t know I crave.

Too bad exploring my fantasies isn’t part of the plan.

At least, mine did.

Wolfy’s original instructions were clear—get in Theo’s head, get the intel, and get out. But I took our eldest brother’s words as more of a suggestion than anything.

And my idea is better.

Because I see the way Theo looks at my twin—like he wants to eat him alive. Never mind that the man is a potentially deadly being of unknown origins, or that I want to discipline him so badly I can taste it.

Gabe is the bait.

Theo is our prey.

And if I get to play with the brat before we end him, well, what could be the harm in that?

It had been so long since I’d enjoyed a proper hunt, I was nearly giddy with excitement.

And what delightful prey I’ve found!

The twins are perfect. Broody angel Gabriel is pretending to resist my advances, while practically begging me to take what I want. And Andre is playing his cards close with absolute control—which only encourages me to defy him more.

As there’s nothing I love more than misbehaving.

I do have an agenda here on earth, however—one my interns can legitimately assist me with.

So, while I can’t wait to make a pretty pair of puppets out of these unsuspecting humans, I’ve decided to at least try to lure them in slowly. Really savor the experience.
