APOC Survival Katana with Hidden Kozuka Knife – Designed by Angus Trim

The A.P.O.C. Katana is an all-business tactical Katana designed for maximum usability, practicality and lethality and this version has an additional hidden-blade Kozuka knife which serves as an excellent utility knife and a backup close-quarters self defense tool – it slides and slots into its own pocket on the scabbard for concealment and swift removal when needed.

Designed by renowned swordsmith Angus Trim, the clean lines of this katana emphasize decisive cutting coupled with robust construction; the spine of the blade is thick and strong and in profile the blade has an elongated, chisel-like geometry designed to give it a long cutting plane – this is a blade built to cut, hack, stab and slice with authority. The blade is constructed from 9260 high carbon steel and is finished with a Black Oxide coating to minimize maintenance and maximize stealth.

The thickened tang is very wide for optimum hilt durability; the grip scale slabs are both simple and sturdy G10 Fiberglass laminate which is triple anchored into the tang. The grip design is flush with the tang and has no notable hard edges so as to prevent blisters and lesions on the hands from extended field use. A hooked notch at the base of the blade prevents the hands from sliding onto the blade during a strike. A pre-drilled lanyard hole accommodates your own lanyard or hanging loop. The sword comes with a tactical sheath of fiberglass with MOLLE system-compatible hanging slots. Two knobs in the sheath lock onto matching indents on the the sword to secure it into the scabbard when sheathed.

The Kozuka Knife has a sharp and slender blade crafted from High Speed Steel to ensure that it has a high level of edge retention and hardness. This type of  tool steel is often used for applications where durability is paramount, such as for saw blades and drill bits and it finds great utility in this Kozuka utility knife. The knife has full tang construction with a handle of G10 riveted to the tang for a tough and lasting construction.

Sometimes I think about how the entire history of the advancement of human weapons can be boiled down to: “we found more elaborate ways to hit things with rocks…”

Swords/axes? Sharpened refined rocks.

Guns? Sharpened, refined rocks, propelled by explosives…

We discovered how to make explosives, and we fine tuned that technology to better propel refined and sharpened rocks at insane distances… we are still hitting things with rocks… we just became experts in the science of hitting things with rocks… The human race is basically just a “dump everything into geology” build…

everyone always talks about ‘medic reader’ this and ‘teammate reader’ that but what abt weapons engineer/mechanic reader ?

just a silly little fella who helps out the 141 with their weapons when they go out of whack, who works very closely with the team to coordinate certain weapons for specific missions .

they’d probably have a really close bond with soap , both having fun with testing demolitions together . who’s able to add in ideas and carry conversations with you when you ramble on about weapons . johnny pulls you close to him when they get startled from the loud noise of an explosion , laughing a little at how they excuse their sudden vulnerability with ‘not expecting it to be that loud’.

price who seeks them out when he’s having issues with his cm901, having to endure your age-long lectures about not accidentally slamming the barrel to hard. he subconsciously makes sure the brush his hand over yours when he finally retrieves his now-fixed weapon.

Expected to be just as mature as an adult, this kid knowing guns and being able to fight, but also carving their name into the wall where they're hiding from enemy fire, y'know just for fun

Constantly out-adapting the adults (kid brains are designed for learning FAST). Whumper is training them to fight their enemies, and whumpee is secretly training whumper to teach them how to eventually escape...

Whumpee using every metric they can to convince whumper they're loyal so they can be given the freedom to run away.

Whenever whumper figures out whumpee outsmarted them they lock them up, take away every tool they have for learning and make them do exhausting reps, "I'll just have to train that will out of you then!"

Whumpee slapped or beaten for glaring at whumper, but anyone else, it's encouraged.

"Careful, he bites." (Whumpee is expected to snarl here.)

If whumpee failed to intimidate whumper's enemies, there's hell to pay.

Whumpee being totally gullible about common sense stuff but you will not fool them about army politics, human body science, or weaponry. They can tell you whether you want a 9mm or a .380 but have no idea why you would brush up your appearance to meet the opposite sex.

Awkward teenager whumpees who just really want to score in social interactions but they're only allowed around adults, so they're always bullied out by shared cultural stuff they don't know about.

Big-eyed kids that just eat their meat with their hands in the corner, cough, and go out to punch the punching bag while the soldiers eat and talk

Whumpee being lonely. Until one of the soldier groups decides to take them "under their wing" (then you have like a carewhumper situation?)

Little whumpees that rely on ranged weapons or long spears because once it gets close range, they're getting literally thrown into walls and stuff

Them getting thrown into a bookshelf and kind of bouncing off onto the floor. Stomped back down into the carpet. Yelps of pain, and then a hard breath as they just take it. They're used to pain by now.

Picked up by the throat kicking and squirming, but they have fighting training so they kick their opponent in the face.

It pisses me off so bad the sheer lack of disability rep in people's fma modern aus so I made this because I think I'm actually going to commit acts of violence if I see one more au where Al is able bodied or Ed has both arms.

I did a bit of research on prosthetics for this because I'm not an amputee so I don't have any personal experience with prosthetics. Ed's leg is fairly standard as far as electric above the knee prosthetics go but he has a leg cover so it resembles his automail from the show. (he probably has other options too so he can change them out as he pleases) Ed also doesn't have an arm prosthetic. From what I can tell there's not many options as far as prosthetics go for people who've lost their arm at the shoulder and I'm gonna be honest I don't think Ed would really want a prosthetic arm until modern prosthetic technology is more similar to what is available in the FMA universe.

I haven't exactly decided what Al has but whatever I do decide will have to be genetic because he inherited it from his mother. I'll definitely have to do some research on what might have symptoms that are kinda the real life equivalent of Al's situation in the show. I also forgot to mention he has insomnia. I wasn't sure how to adapt the Al is a sweet little kid stuck in a suit of armor that scares people thing but you win some you loose some.
