this set of images comes with a winged apollo headcanon (,,,or canon ig??) His wing movements are usually very reserved, but when he gets really lost in thought, he will start hovering without noticing he’s doing it.
Realized after writing this that I never really explained how his fear of heights manifests, so allow me to here :33 :
Just like in canon, Apollo has a fear of heights that is stronger that Phoenix's. However, Apollo's doesn't kick in until he's x-distance above the ground, so he has no problem with hovering. As opposed to Phoenix, who hates the feeling of not having his feet on the ground (at least in the og trilogy).

I want yall to know that it was technically Torbek’s entire character that made me realize what Kremy and Gideon’s character arcs are, and that they even had character arcs in the first place
And I have an actual explanation for this. I’m not just pulling this out of my ass here.
Torbek from the get-go is everything that Kremy and Gideon are not. He is honest (or as honest as he can be), kind, compassionate, morally decent (I’d say the goblinoids are the 2 party members with the highest morals), and is incredibly emotional (and forthright with said emotions).
Not to say that the husbands are incapable of being any of these things—in fact, Kremy and Gideon both have repeatedly shown signs of kindness and compassion, both to their friends and to strangers. But also…im not gonna sugarcoat it, they’re not good people. They steal, they destroy, they murder (and actively enjoy the murdering process—or at least Gid does), etc. Kremy’s whole character is built on lies (literally his part of the opening poem says “when turned to words, could only lie”), and Gideon is very emotionally stunted (I’ve made a separate post going into this fairly in-depth, so I’m not gonna get too into it here, but he clearly hides behind a mask of anger whenever he feels genuinely sad, nervous, frightened, etc).
Anyway, I didn’t realize that Kremy has been going through a sort of character arc regarding his lies until they met Pincushion, where Kremy tried lying and bullying his way into getting what he wants (and it not working), and Torbek tried being kind and truthful into getting what information they needed (and it working wonderfully).

Kaeya visits the Dawn Winery... a lot.
He has multiple reasons and excuses that change every time he is greeted by Adelinde.
An investigation on the Darknight hero.
A mission he received from Jean.
A short detour from his patrols.
One time, all he did was ask for a glass of wine before he went his merry way.
Another, he spent a bit more time within the building, creating jam with Adelinde.
Diluc occasionally catches the man approaching the winery from a distance. If he was lucky enough to evade Kaeya's attention, he would send Adelinde to talk to the cavalry captain in his stead. As for the other times, Kaeya would glance up to meet his eyes from where the cavalry captain was standing by the entrance - thru his tinted windows somehow. The younger man's eyes would be glinting mischievously, his ever-present smirk slowly growing on his face.
"Gotcha," his face seemed to imply.
Diluc simply huffs in frustration before leaving his room to spend a couple of moments bantering with the other.
Diluc knows how frequent Kaeya's visits were. He fully expects at least 2 visits in a week...
...The idea that Kaeya frequently visits but never stays... leaves a bitter taste in Diluc's mouth.
Kaeya himself had said that Dawn Winery was his home. If he thought so, why was he always doling out excuses just to be here?
Doesn't Kaeya know he is welcome any time?
Does Kaeya know he could stay?
.
.
.
Like clockwork, Kaeya visits the Dawn Winery.
This time, Kaeya manages to meet his eyes- thru the tinted windows somehow.
Diluc huffs, leaves his room, and meets the other by the entrance.
Kaeya tries to give an excuse for his visit.
Diluc interrupts by saying "you don't need a reason to come home".
.
.
.
'Gotcha' Diluc thinks. He feels as if he won something upon being met by Kaeya's stunned face and hearing Adelinde's giggles at the background.

Sometimes you remember that all we know regarding Argit's mom is that he sold her for top dollar and that Kevin doesn't seem to hold this against him at all, instead defending his honor on the matter of whether he got a good price. We have no context for what happened there, when it happened, or why.
Just, an interesting thing.

the "big picture" - whether that refers to some detached, calculated greater good; ruthless ambition and progress for the sake of progress; or even the dear listeners' cosmic indifference - as an antagonistic force in wolf 359 is so fascinating to me because of the way eiffel as a protagonist is set up to oppose it, just by nature of who he is. eiffel retains his humanity even under the most inhumane circumstances. his strength is in connection, and with that he's able to reach others who share his core values, but he's operating under a fundamentally different framework from the show's antagonists. he can never understand where they're coming from or be swayed by their points of view because, for better or worse, he can only see the world through a close personal lens.
it's an ideological conflict he has with all of them, but notably with hilbert: "you talk about helping people, but what about the real, live people around you? [...] that's your problem. you're so zoomed out." eiffel will never, ever see that "big picture" because he is so zoomed in. at his best, he puts things into perspective and grounds the people around him. at his worst, his perspective narrows so drastically inwards that he becomes blind to everyone and everything else. his failings are deeply, tragically human - they're personal, they're impulsive, they're self-destructive. they're selfish. no matter how much he might try to narrativize or escape from himself, he's still left with doug eiffel: "it's taken me this long to realize that running from everyone else means that you're alone with yourself." eiffel could never be convinced to harm others on purpose, but he has hurt people, and it's never been because he didn't care. the very fact that he cares so much, that he's incapable of reconciling the hurt he's caused with the things he values, is what keeps him from real growth for so long. where many of the other characters in wolf 359 will justify their cruelty in service of something they consider more important, eiffel is so caught up in vilifying himself and the fear that he's always going to harm the people he cares for without meaning to that he shuts himself off from the people who care about him and perpetuates his own self-fulfilling prophecy.

nooooo not your first two reasons for staying in the city you are legally trapped in instead of absconding forever with billions of dollars worth of stolen art being the married couple who have slowly but surely absorbed you into their relationship and welcomed you into their life. a guy who has never had a place he wasn't obligated to leave feeling at first trapped by his circumstances but then coming to enjoy the idea of a permanent home and unwilling to be pressured away from it . surely no further events will transpire that might cause him to lose faith in this ideal and, feeling it necessary, strike out once again into the lonely world as a traveling thief with no port of call and no living name

So, recently I've been rereading the Batman Beyond tie-in comics & one of @theycallme-ook fics, which brought me back to a character that's criminally underrated: Julio "July" Jimenez.
(You can read the full story using this link. Sadly, it's his first & only appearance.)
I really wished the writers had utilized him more bcz good lord, he has so much potential as a character. We know Terry once mixed with the wrong crowd. However, Charlie's the only character from that part of Terry's past who made an appearance. Now, he was a pretty good antagonist (esp how he paralleled & subverted Bruce & Harvey's friendship) but at the end of it all, he's, again, the only character from that part of Terry's past that a wide audience got to see.
It would've been refreshing if July got to show up on the screen too bcz he would've been a perfect foil to Charlie in these 2 words.
Charlie -> greed July -> hope
July is one of the people Terry managed to successfully save. Whereas Charlie remained alone & went back to crime for personal gain; July was one of many who was pushed into it to support his family. However, unlike Charlie who manipulated & betrayed Terry's trust, when Terry offered July hope, he took it. He accepted Terry's hand & found himself standing on better ground with his own two feet.
If writers wanted to take it a step further, July could've been brought into the loop, having been inspired to pick up a Red Hood-esque mantle to help other ppl in his place (or remain a family guy, that works too. Man has a wife & 3 kids after all). Maybe Melanie & Jack could've bumped into him after they left the Gang, sensing kindred spirits in each other.
(Maybe he, Jack & his wife could've become a throuple bcz god knows that guy deserves love & a chance at a decent family after what his bio one put him through but that's a rare asf ship for another post on another day.)
Anyways, yeah. Batman Beyond has an amazing cast but this is one side character that has sadly remained unrecognized. I hope this post can change that.
