The way Rollo kisses you is chaste at first. It's his first time being intimate with anyone and he's rather shy. You had to ease your way into his personal space very slowly. He starts trying to get used to having a person close to him in life. He would prefer to make it quick, and there were times he'd bump his nose into yours. When you two begin to know each other longer, he starts holding you tighter to him and he feels and tastes so desperate when you kiss, but he retains gentleness so as to not scare you off. It's hard not to notice his change in demeanor when appearances are the most important thing to him, even in private. If you point it out, he'll look away and deny it, but then he begins losing even more of his inhibitions. It was gradual, but you feel like it snowballed when you kissed his handkerchief in front of him, a personal belonging that's always pressed against his lips. He knows what you meant by that. When he used to lightly push you away to preserve his peace, now he won't let you go. There are certain days where if you move while he's close to you, he'll grip you thinking you're trying to get away, and there comes that delirious expression you can't ignore… He's obsessed with you now. Rollo is the one initiating it, and then he blames you for tempting him to act like this. When there's no other person in sight, somewhere secluded, you should grow used to anticipating a pair of hands grabbing your shoulders and turning you around to meet the stern gaze of your lover.

On the other hand, Fellow has more experience as an older man. He must've had flings with other people in the past, so he knows just what to do with your lips. In the first stages of his relationship with you, he thinks everything is a game at first. He just treats you like the others, fast-paced and teasing, occasionally lightly grazing your neck with his fangs. He knows you love it when he does that with the way you shudder and even bare your skin for him to mark with kisses. You play along with the fox, and for every time he tricks you, you return the favor. He stole a kiss from you once in passing, so you took his wallet. There's nothing in it, of course. He doesn't know whether to swoon or curse at how you've outsmarted him. He'll only start treating you like a valuable doll when you both start taking it seriously, which took a while to establish. You find him becoming more easily flustered with you as you unearth the real him underneath the layers of lies. His showbiz-like persona starts fading away when you two are close together, and his voice becomes slower and softer... It's more obvious when he's speaking right against your ear. In comparison, nothing about you has changed. "How do I know you're not playing tricks on me again, Fellow?" You pout with your arms crossed. He smiles with his teeth and he stutters a little bit as he places his hand on his heart. "I would never lie to you, my dear, or my name isn't Honest John!" Yeah, right...

Castiel wakes up covered in self-inflicted wounds, struggling to figure out what he's supposed to do next. Dean and Sam are also struggling to figure out what to do next, but it's fair to say they're looking at the situation through a completely different lens.

It's also worth noticing Castiel now has bear arms. Not really sure why. Maybe a witch got inside the bunker and cursed him.

Keep in mind, this isn't like the dean of a school, which would be, "The dean." This is The Dean. The Dean to End All Deans. The Ultimate Dean.

Castiel is opening. What he's opening, I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it's like open mic night, and he's opening for another angel? Some kind of stand up comedy routine?

Dean just sorts of assumes sometimes.

Castiel is off the market, ladies and gents. He's never going out.

if you don't have access to word, is there a way to write directly into ao3?

You can always write directly into ao3 where you go to post, and some people prefer this, but be aware that it doesn't automatically save and won't save if you close the tab. Ao3 encourage you to have a back-up copy of what you write there in the "work text". So it is possible to write directly on ao3, but I would recommend writing elsewhere to avoid loss of the text.

I tried to encapsulate the feeling that this fic gives me — I've lived near Atlanta my entire life and some of my best childhood memories come from that city (and from DC comics). This fic really captured the feeling of Atlanta for me, and left me feeling a nostalgia few fics have before, both in the inclusion of a location so close to me and the themes that the fic carries. I wanted to pay respects to that in the formatting.

A bit of this will likely change! Looking over just the images now, I see some things I want to edit to match official book prints more closely (Mostly how with how I have it formatted now, the author's not is going to be on the back of the full title page, and that's generally not how it's done in official publishings).

The fic pictured is A Meditation in Railroading by @eggmacguffin! It's a truly phenomenal work of writing and I highly suggest it to anyone who has the time to read it.

Now I just have to make some cover art (and figure out the logistics for printing that), get the materials I need, and take lots of advantage of my local public library's printing service (because I am definitely not paying for all that ink).

I’m trying to organize notes and things for a writing project and feel like I need a better system to group and visualize my material. is there a particular site, strategy, or program you use for your writing? a timelime with adjustable entry logs would be a gamechanger but I don’t like any of the ones I’ve seen on a superficial search

Hello hello! I am well, I hope you are as well!!

I don't do anything crazy myself, honestly I've tried other things, but I actually do most of my writing, including drafting and notes, just in a single document, even for some of my longer (100k+ stories).

I do have some stories that have multiple docs, but for those just having a file folder with multiple Word documents in it works for me. I use Word 2013 to write, and often will just open two documents side-by-side if I'm doing a rewrite or working off notes. I often put things in notepad as well to have an additional little window. But I, overall, work within a single document and just sorta...roll with it. Most of my organizing is in my head, and then it's in notes that I write in a scatter around the main document for the story.

Also a good old-fashioned bit of pen-and-paper suits me well too, I often write base timelines or draw diagrams physically when necessary. At the end of the day, a timeline is just a bulleted list, which basically any writing program can handle.

That being said, I have tried out a few different writing programs. The types that gamify the writing process never jive with me, and the one I felt was closest to what I want is Scrivner! Scrivner is paid, but there's a trial you can try out. It basically lets you have a bunch of documents related to each other, which makes it easy to write and add notes, and to open things on top of each other and such.

I've also heard decent things about Ellipsus, but haven't looked into it personally myself!

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.

Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.

I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!

EDIT 2: I almost forgot to mention, if you are unable to write/type your story, you can also narrate/dictate your story to your preferred recording device!

If you're doing a Recording only and it doesn't automatically generate a transcript, it would obviously be hard to judge the word count -- but you're also working with a lot of obstacles, so I'd say if you're able to complete your story via voice recording from start to finish, you've definitely achieved the goal!

Edit #3: added the title "Novella November 2024 announcement post" to the top to make it more standard with my Ominous October and Drabble December posts (will be updating Outline October shortly) , added "Official Announcement Post 2024" to the tags so people can easily find the monthly events for 2024, and added a bit of bold to the third bullet point in the original post from September 2nd 2024 for emphasis.
