✨️My Undertale Headcanons✨️

When they came out of the underground, most/all of the characters live next to eachother like a neighborhood. Mettaton has a big mansion and it's a little far from the rest of them, but it's still close enough to be part of it. He helped to afford a new "Blook Acres" for his cousins, Dummy, Napstablook and Mad Mew Mew (Shyren and her sister live next to them). Sans and Papyrus made their home exactly how it was when they were in the underground. Toriel, Frisk, Asgore and Flowey's house are right next to theirs. Alphys and Undyne live together and it's right next to Sans and Papyrus' house. Muffet and the other spiders have a Bakery and Grillby has a bar/restaurant.

Some of the monsters stayed in the underground. It's very silent there now that almost everyone is gone, that's one of the reasons why some monsters stayed — because of the silence. It's a bit depressing sometimes thinking about how that place is now so empty when there were so much people and happiness everywhere. Now it's just the snow and empty houses in Snowdin, waterfalls and water drops in Waterfall, and the sound of lava and the core in Hotland. MTT's resort is also closed. Monster's history is still preserved there, so some humans go to the underground to learn about history.

Mettaton loves chick flicks and that's how his love for the humans started. He found some of them at the dump, they came from different decades and not all of his collection is about romance, he once found DVDs about talk shows and quiz shows, also black n white movies from the golden age of hollywood. He didn't know the name of most of the actors or where those movies came from, except that they came from the surface. He knew at that moment that he wanted to be like them. He also found some CD's and even not knowing them so well, he absolutely loves pop singers like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé. He just never had enough information to know about their other albums or their personal lives. That was too far from his reality. Now that all the monsters are outside, he really wants do befriend them and it's a big fan of Rupaul's Drag Race. He would love to be on that show. Mettaton now has a lot of human fans now too. He loves to post things on social media, having thousands of followers in each one of them. He also has two or more shows in a human TV channel, maybe even his own MTT channel.

Mad Mew Mew ABSOLUTELY LOVES Babymetal. The RAGE mixed to that japanese kind of cuteness. IT'S PERFECT!!! Her favorite song is Doki Doki Morning (She likes meowing during the "mew mew mew" part and when the metal finnaly strikes it's just RAGEEEEE but then the song is cute again and she's all "mew mew mew :33333"). She listens to Babymetal alongside Alphys and Frisk. Now she's an otaku too just because of Alphys. They are friends. Mew Mew still has a little crush on Undyne, but it's not like she wants to date her anymore.

Alphys dances to Babymetal alongside Frisk and Mew Mew. They live in good terms and Alphys let them have the doll because she's more happy with it than Alphys was for just having that doll. She has a little crush on Mad Mew Mew by the way, because it's a living version of her anime waifu. They became good friends and Alphys watched Mew Mew Kissy Cutie with her so that she could understand the lore, because of her Mad Mew Mew is now also otaku. Alphys loves Saylor Moon, Pretty Cure franchise, Candy Love and other kinds of anime. She likes to read yaoi and yuri sometimes.

Papyrus turned out to be a big fan of Iron Maiden. Sans sometimes listen to their songs with him and both skip the songs that talk more about violence because Papyrus don't like it much. What is funny to Sans is that Papyrus' timbre perfectly matches the musical notes of the band's vocalists (especially Bruce Dickinson, who, let's face it, is everyone's favorite) and because of this it is more comfortable and free for him to sing all the notes. His favorite song is CLEARLY Alexander The Great, for obvious reasons. Sans' and Papyrus' favorite album is Somewhere in Time. Sans relates a little to the lyrics of "Deja Vu", but Papyrus likes the band a lot more than him. Undyne likes Iron Maiden too and sometimes sings them on karaoke with Papyrus, both acting and making heroic poses while they sing. Flowey enjoys it too but his kind of metal is a little heavier.

Sans reminds me of Porco Rosso. It's not a headcanon I just wanted to tell you guys. Their personality is very similar and that's how I see Sans' character.

Sans likes to listen to Iron Maiden with Papyrus but also enjoy some calmer songs. I'm not sure who is his favorite artist, but I think that he would listen a little bit to Lana Del Rey. Especially her latest albums. He really likes the instrumental ending in "If You Lie Down With Me". He knows that some people consider her too "girly" for him to listen, but he really doesn't mind, it's good music after all. He likes calm songs with good instrumental and good lyrics.

Flowey starts living with the other monsters too, like in the "flower pot au". Most of his 'friends' know that he's prince Asriel, but he asked them to call him Flowey, even Toriel and Asgore. When worried, sad or having a deep conversation, sometimes Toriel or Asgore call him "Asriel", mostly Toriel. This makes him very emotional. He's also learning how to develop emotions again and it's being hard. Flowey discovered that listening to metal can calm his nerves, letting it all out. It's very funny to watch a little flower headbanging to a death metal song. He also enjoys singing guttural and he feels better after doing it so. It's like he can express his angry side without harming anyone in the process (Frisk is teaching him how to do it).

Asgore and Toriel are getting well together. They are becoming friends again, even flirting sometimes. Both of them talked about how they felt after those events in the underground and explained their point of view, finally ending that stupid distance. Asgore feels guilty for what he did, and Toriel understands that he had to do it because he thought it was the only option. They've been recovering from the greif of their children and everything seems to be better now. Being eachother's bestfriend again really helps a lot dealing with the guilt. They understand that they had to go and it wasn't their fault.

Frisk is a big AURORA fan due to her pacifist songs. They feel like her songs give them the energy to keep being a good person, caring for other people and helping the world. Papyrus enjoys some of her songs too because Frisk explained to him what the lyrics meant. Frisk tells Flowey that "Churchyard" makes them think of him (he understands why but gets grumpy because of it)(and it also makes them think of Sans, but they never told him because these are memories from other save). Some of their favorite songs are Animal, A Different Kind Of Human, Apple Tree, All Is Soft Inside, Soft Universe, It Happened Quiet. Toriel pretends that doesn't relate to the lyrics of Midas Touch to avoid explanation (she heard Frisk listening to it one time and paid attention to the lyrics, so that's how that happened).

Asgore and Toriel enjoy some calmer songs too. Sans is one of Toriel's best friends, and one day he came to their house and Toriel asked him to put any song he likes. He choosed "Let The Light In", which is another one from Lana that he listens to, and that's how Toriel started listening to her too. Again, only her latest albums (they feel that her older albums are too sad). Because of them Asgore also started to listen to her songs. They like to make "tea parties" for their friends while Toriel brings her butterscotch pie and Asgore makes the tea, hearing those songs playing in the background. It brings such a cozy feeling.

And then the karaoke moment starts and Papyrus and Undyne are screaming on the microphone. Mettaton likes to sing too (sometimes with Shyren), Napstablook controls the audio. Asgore tries, but he knows he's not the best at singing. Mad Mew Mew wants to sing Babymetal, Alphys really wants to sing with her but she's too embarassed to do it so Undyne helps sometimes and encourages her. Frisk dances with them because they're not really into singing. Sans is too lazy to sing and he says that he's not the best at it.

I wanna add more headcanons to this list. Gonna keep updating when thinking about new ones!

But the mansion + the castle is doing secret Santa. Everyone pulls a name. BUT. rather than a gift they have to do a PowerPoint presentation on the person, just going off of what you can find in history books. You cannot talk to the person for information.

Imperial Japan is a great example of a non-Western nation adopting Western practices out of a worldview you could say relates to white supremacy. For instance, they reorganized their nobility to be more like European aristocracies because that was seen as more fashionable and cool, although keep in mind that kinna thing is hardly unique, there was a very long time when the nobility of England were Francophiles and mostly spoke French, and Japan itself already had a long history of ripping off China.

Something more specific is that they might be said to have criminalized homosexuality based on Western influence. However, while copying and looking good to the West did play a large role in what was done about it, Japan, like Rome, was not any kind of LGBT paradise, and there was already a mounting backlash against homosexual practices within samurai culture.

Furthermore, Ming China banned homosexuality in the 1600s entirely on their own. When the Qing legalized it in 1907, it was due to Western influenced attempts to "modernize". To be clear, I'm not saying Western influence made China better - for as much deserved shit as I give the PRC they call that period the Century of Humiliation for very good reason. The Qing may have been a mess at the best of times, but foreign powers (including, you know, Japan) were basically stomping all over them every chance they got. Only a few years after the latest attempt at "modernization" they finally collapsed into decades long civil war.

However, it can hardly be said that the West has been going around exporting queerphobia. That always existed in Asia. That was always a thing.

To return to Imperial Japan, it has to be kept in mind that they were primarily wowed by Western culture insofar as it came with concrete upgrades on the tech tree. This led them to adopt certain Western cultural traits like styles of dress, yes, but mostly they wanted the big fucking boats with giant fuck off cannons, and maybe some of those guns you load on Sunday and shoot all week. While IJ held the West to be "superior" in terms of physical might, and thus their ability to shape the world, every possible opportunity was taken to assert Japanese culture to the point of being a right-wing nationalist death cult that makes MAGA look like little babies. Everything they took from Western culture, their attitude was always - subtly at first, more openly contemptuous as war with the US loomed - "anything you can do, we can do better".

That includes the racism and colonialism. IJ saw what the West and they decided that's what they wanted for themselves. Literally it was like "the West has all these great ideas about dominating cultural and racial inferiors, but we think we prefer it'd be us on top, actually". At this point it's like, did they internalize white supremacy? Or did they maybe see some bullies beating a kid up and decide that beating kids up looked fun?

So I have alllll these problems with the idea that white supremacy is to blame for like...literally every bad thing ever on the planet. And I just don't get how it isn't erasing the individual histories of other countries to reduce them to poor little meow meows brainwashed into evil by Western hegemony.

as far as shōgun the show is concerned, i'm only on episode 2 and i already can't stand the white main character, with his 'american exceptionalism' yeah I know he's english but the show isn't and it shows, with carefully constructed poor wet meow meow personality and action-hero ''charisma'', and it doesn't help that the actor is a piece of wood next to titans like sanada hiroyuki et al

that said. i am living for the way these actors, previously confined to supporting characters and racist stereotypes are now dominating shows about their own country's history.

(also personally fangirling because sanada hiroyuki has been a fave for years and years! he's been acting since before the 80s iirc he's absolutely captivating in twilight samurai! and asano tadanobu became my favorite actor when i saw his incredible range in gohatto, zatoichi, ichi the killer and last life in the universe, all from the 90s/early 2000s)

4. what did you name your hero and partner characters? and why?

rt hero (mayar) - my hero is a skitty and mayar is an arabic name that means "moonglow." it's also a spanish verb meaning "to meow," so the double meanings fit skitty perfectly. also while fact checking for this i learned that in balochi it can also mean "under the protection of god." i could only find one source for this meaning so i'm taking it with a grain of salt but i like it as a representation of hero's relationship with gardevoir in a way.

rt partner (newlin) - newlin is a welsh name meaning "new pond." other than the water associstion (since my partner is a mudkip), i like it to fit with newlin's backstory of finding a new home after he was exiled from his old one.

explorers hero (asta) - asta is a name with multiple origins and meanings but the ones i like most are "rebirth" (for being transformed as a pokemon, changing history so that the future can be renewed, and coming back after being erased at the end), "divine strength" (for partner looking to hero as a source of strength), and "star-like" (asta is an eevee and even though i can't actually do this in-game i like to imagine her evolving into a sylveon, so the name just feels fitting for the fairy-type).

explorers partner (dustin) - dustin is a name of english, german, and norse origins that mean "thor's stone" and "brave warrior." i wanted a name that meant brave to fit with partner's character arc of becoming brave, and the "thor's stone" meaning added another layer with my partner being a shinx. you could also make an argument for thor being the god of lightning and dustin's whole deal in my writing that i can't go into because of spoilers but you know what i mean teehee.

gti hero and partner (nadine and kazuki) - putting these two together as their names actually have the same meaning, that being "hope." wanted them to have names that fit with gti's overarching theme of hope. the origins are also french and japanese respectively, which fit serperior and samurott's design inspirations (nadine is even kalosian in my lore for him!)

psmd hero and partner (zaya and dalia) - same deal as with gti. these names have the same meaning, which is along the lines of "fate" or "destiny," as i wanted to take the angle of them being fated friends that meet in every lifetime. dalia also has the meaning of "branch" so it suits a treecko partner.

5. what's a pokemon you would like to be able to play as or with?

.......do i even need to say it. avoiding the obvious answer, pretty much all of the current starters, and for some curveball choices i would like rockruff, espurr, hatenna and pawmi.

7. how do you interpret the future trio's relationships to each other?

obviously coming at this from the angle of someone who likes their weird little polycule but i also think each of them has an inferiority complex about the whole thing.

dusknoir will always feel like he doesn't deserve forgiveness or that he's always going to fuck it all up for himself in some capacity even if he's doing nothing wrong (ocd warrior). celebi really doesn't have any beef with him (less so after they start dating too) and grovyle assures him that while the past happened and had consequences, what he does with the future is what's important.

celebi already expressing in-game that she wants grovyle to slow down and spend some time with her and i feel like that becomes a bit of insecurity (but not bitter jealousy because fuck that. celebi's a fujoshi warrior) once grovyle gets with dusknoir romantically. she doesn't mind the polyam aspect ofc but she still longs for some one-on-one time. this changes once dusknoir picks up on her feelings and tries to bond with her on his own. this is when celebi realizes she has a thing for pathetic men considering it's happened twice now and she and dusknoir start dating. grovyle is confused about where that came from all of a sudden but is supportive nonetheless.

speaking of grovyle, someone did art of this which is where this idea comes from and i'll have to find the link to it but basically he still hasn't outgrown his self-sacrificial complex and because he's already been displaced in hero's life he feels like it's happening again with dusknoir and celebi starting to get along really well. of course those two aren't having any of his shit and put that to bed (in both ways) immediately.

What fluffy hcs you got for shang tsung,raiden,fujin,and kung lao?

SORRY this took a bit to answer lol (got distracted)

Shang tsung:

usually this man pulls out the klassic nicknames a villain of his stature would give. "Darling" "love" "my dear" "my flower" but there would be one little nickname he'll give only to one who has his heart and soul. "Little mao mao" (which is "meow" in Chinese. Like "nya" is meow in Japanese)

Shang tsung sings and dances really good, however he doesn't like to do this in front of ANYONE. He feels insecure in an odd way, highly unusual for someone so full of himself. Perhaps such a simple, genuine, innocuous and human act would tarnish his reputation of "evil sorcerer". Perhaps he doesn't wish to be made fun of for something he genuinely and deeply enjoys.

If shang tsung's beloved is sick, he will strongly fret over them. He'll be annoyed like "clearly you should take better care of yourself" and bombard them with the finest medicine and highest quality tea and tiger balm (works wonders). He may appear annoyed and inconvenienced but really he's screaming on the inside bc that's the only person he ever gave half a shit about, let alone a whole shit about. Shang tsung will have what he desires and not even the elder gods are gonna take his beloved away without a fight.

Raiden:

Raiden takes note of how people like their tea or (elder gods forbid) coffee, and makes sure to make it exactly how they like it. Also raiden has a disdain for drinking coffee himself, despite liking the smell of it. Regardless of how much he shit talks sonya for drinking coffee, if he's making drinks he'll make it how she likes it. Pitch black with only half a spoon of sugar.

Raiden picks up modern day jokes just enough to have a basic understanding, and its not hard for him to get it as humans often repeat history a lot. So occasionally if someone tries to hit him with a "bofa" joke, he knows how to turn it around. All gods like to troll mortals every now and then. Wouldn't you if you were eons old?

Raiden might be serious at times, but will always indulge a tiny child's wish to play around. He knows when a kid wants to hide his hat away to spend more time with him and raiden pretends to totally not see the obvious place it's hidden at. Children's laughter always warms his heart and its hard for him to not smile at such sweet innocence only a kid could have.

Fujin:

Likes to make paper cranes and use the wind to blow them around, occasionally making tons of origami animals to create a scene with wind blowing them to life.

Some memes fujin gets and other times it flys quite literally over his head. Many times the victim of cassie cage's classic "master bofa detsu" joke. And yet surprises everyone with an "amongus" joke.

As a wind god and protector of earthrealm, it's not his only job, For annoying his brother by touching his stuff is what any good sibling does. Fujin bangs on raiden's taiko drums when raiden specifically tells him NOT to TOUCH. Fujin has been struck by many a thunder and lightning, but it's worth it.

Kung lao:

He takes good care of the rabbit in his hat (yes he does absolutely have a rabbit in his hat) and doesn't even mind it's actually a demon trapped in the body of a fluffy rabbit. For it befriended the great kung lao a long time ago and attached itself to his hat (that is now kung lao's, which has been modified with the blade)

Kung lao likes to whittle wood. He's very good at making tons of small wooden figures. One time, he and night wolf spent half an entire day making small wooden animals and talking about many things. Kung lao has made an entire wooden train track, complete with a wooden train. And it's his greatest creation.

Kung lao likes hip hop and rap, it surprises everyone except liu kang, who shares his taste. Although liu kang prefers old school rap. They both love dancing and if given the opportunity, tear up the dancefloor like nobody's business.

TMNT Victorian AU

A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Victorian AU for @augustwritingchallenge event AU August 2024 day 26 Victoria Era. I know that it would be wrong to add a fifth turtle to the usual four men team, but I found a way to work around Venus name by making Splinter got the name ideas from a book on the Renaissance.

New York City has been slowly become the America's version of London after the horrors of the Civil War during this era known as the Victorian Era, with many coming to move into the city to make a living in the great city, despite the increase in crime. There are rumors that begins to formed in the city of five green creatures that walk like men but they disappear into the night like ninja of Japanese legends. The public worry these green creatures as break ins of factories begins to increase, threating the jobs of workers.

On a nice day in the city and inside a building, April O'Neil watched as her boss Baxter Stockman, a African American inventor, said to a board of businessmen, "Gentlemen, this city is starting to have a rat problem, and I, Baxter Stockman, hold the answer to that problem." Placing a strange knee high machine with a head with sharp teeth and two legs on the table, Baxter said to the businessmen, "I give you the Mouser. My assistant April O'Neil will aid me in showing you how its works." April bring in the mouse maze and the rat on the table and Baxter turn on the Mouser, which let out a machined meow as it goes after the rat, chewing through the maze walls with its steel jaws, until its caught it, to the shock of the businessmen. After turning off the Mouser, Baxter said to the businessmen, "The Mouser is the perfect rat killer as you can see, gentlemen, but this lone Mouser couldn't deal with our city rat problem by itself, so I wish to buy one of your factories to build a unit of Mousers to deal with the rats. Do you gentlemen agree?" and the businessmen look at each around with worry that they would cut the usual work of their steels to make sure killer machines.

April and Baxter left the building with the red hair woman saying to her boss, "I guess that they has not chosen yet, Mr. Stockman." and a upset Baxter said, "Oh, they will, Mrs. O'Neil. They will accept me. I will be among the greatest men of science in the history books with my Mousers. Mark my words, Mrs. O'Neil." Baxter said as he start to leave, "I must return to my office for some time. I think you should head home yourself." and April nod her head to Baxter and head home.

As April enter the poor neighborhood where she lived, a group of men with purple tattoos of dragons walk in front of her and their leader said with a smile, "Hey there, leader. Are you lost? Why don't you come with me and the boys?" and the scared April said, "Sorry, I must get going." and try to leave before one of them grab her arm. "Don't you go anywhere unless we said so." said the man holding April and she realized the danger she is in as the men drag her to a alley. Just then, the man holding April got hit by a stick and the user, hidden in the shadows, said to him, "Leave the lady alone, buddy." The other criminals see the light of steel as four ninja figures surrounded them with the leader saying, "I don't know who you are, but this is Purple Dragon territory, and no one mess with us." The Purple Dragons try to attack only for the five ninjas to defeat them along with using their weapons to disarm them, and soon round up the defeated criminals in a pile and their leader said, "I'm sure we should leave them for the police to pick them up." April walk up to the ninjas and said to them, "Thank you." and one of them turn and step forward to the sunlight, revealing the ninja to be a anthro female turtle wearing a white headband and a pair of tessen on her hands whose said to April, "You are welcome." April was shocked and said, "Y-Y... You are not human...." before she faint and the other ninjas, whose are anthro turtles with differenent colored headbands and different weapons, walk up to April and the turtle in blue said, "She has seen us. We have to bring her to Master Splinter."

As April wake up, she find herself in somekind of underground lair and ask herself, "Where am I?" and see the five turtles sitting at a table as the turtles wearing a orange handband said, "Hey, she is awake. Can we keep her?" and a older male voice said, "No, Michelangelo. She is our guest here." The five turtles then said, "Hai, sensai." and April see a anthro gray fur rat in a purple kimono with a walking stick come out of a room, which shock her, while he said to her, "Greetings, young one. Don't be afraid. My name is Splinter, and me and my children are friendly. We brought you here because of both the attack on you and that my daughter Venus has made us be seen by a outsider. We have to bring you here for our safety." April ask Splinter, "How could you be what you are?" and Splinter answer, "I support I will tell the story of a young man from Japan named Hamato Yoshi, whose story is linked to ours."

Hamato Yoshi was a member of a clan of ninjas known as the Foot and he was one of their top members, but Yoshi want to fix the corruption of his home. When Japan open their ports to the outside world, Yoshi saw it as a chance and ask for the Foot Clan to work with the outside world, but the Foot Clan leader refuse and their son, a prideful man named Oroku Sawaki, call Yoshi a fool, which set Yoshi in a fit of rage that he injured Sawaki. For this dishonored attack, Yoshi was exile to America, where he move to New York City and live in the sewers with his five baby turtles that he keep as pets and the local rats. One day, when Yoshi went out with his pet turtles, he saw a pair of strange men threating a old man and Yoshi rush to stop them. During the fight, Yoshi kick a strange jar of ooze on himself and the turtles out of one of the men hands and it begins to changed them. That ooze appear to changed animals and humans into what they last touch, with the baby turtles becoming the five that you see before you, while Yoshi, whose last touch a nearby rat, was changed into a humanoid rat.

April said to Splinter, "So Hamato Yoshi was.... you." and the turtle in the red headband said, "Look you got figure it out." Splinter continue his story, "After I managed to bring us to my home in the sewers, I understood that the surface world wouldn't accepted us, so I retrain my new body in the ways of the martial arts and ninja, which catch the turtles' interest and so I choose to teach them as well. Soon, with a book on your Renaissance that I owned to make me understand your culture, I give them each names." and point his walking stick to the turtle wearing a blue headband and have two swords on his back, "Leonardo, master of the twin katanas, and leader of his siblings." Splinter then point to the turtle wearing a purple headband and with the stick in his back, "Dontaello, master of the bo and a genius in heart. He has been taken in by your steelworks that he bring in scraps home." and Splinter then point to the turtle wearing a red headband, "Raphael, master of the sai." The turtle with the orange headband said, "Raphael seen himself cool but he can be rude at times." and Raphael said, "Don't make me hit you, Mikey." while Splinter said, "That is Michelangelo, master of the nunchaku. As the younger of his siblings, Michelangelo is mostly not all there." Splinter then said as he point to the turtle with the white headband, "Finally, there is Venus, master of the tessen, and the one whose allow herself to be seen by you." and April said to Venus, "You are the only girl here." which made Venus nod.

As April stay with the turtles, Leonard soon come with food and news paper, saying to his family, "You are not going to believe this." and show it, which April reads, "Scientist Baxter Stockman goes missing!" and April said in shock, "Mr. Stockman! He was building a new machine yesterday! Someone must have kidnap him for that machine!" and Dontaello said, "Maybe whosever is stealing those steelworks factories must have been getting metal to build copies of that machine.” and he then asked April, “What was he building?”

In the cover of night, April and the five turtles exit the sewers and the turtles use the rooftops to head to Baxter's house, as April follows.

Checking out Baxter's place, Mikey ask, "Who do you think want this Sickman..." before she corrected him, "Stockman." and Mikey continue, "Anyway, are aliens behind this?" and Leo said to his younger brother, "I don't think it was aliens, Michelangelo. I find a clue to who it could be." showing a note that read a address.

April and the five turtles arrived at the factory where the address would be and the red hair woman was quite surprised that there seen to be a factory working at night. She and the turtles peek into a window and see Baxter working with a man as they oversee the building of a army of Mousers, and Baxter said out loud, "I must thank you for the stolen metal, Mr. Krang! With this factory, I will build my Mousers and use them against those that mock me, destroying New York in the progress if it come to it!" shocking April that Baxter is plotting to destroy the city.

The turtles clash into the factory and Leo said to Baxter, "It's over, Stockman!" and the shocked Baxter said, "What in the name of science are you?" while Mr. Krang said, "Those are turtles. Mutant Ninjas I must add. Well, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." and Mikey said to Krang, "Hey, that is a good name of our group." Baxter said to the Turtles, "My Mousers will end you, turtles!" and a horde of Mousers come toward the turtles, whose used their blade weapons since the Mousers are machines.

The turtles escape as the factory blow up as well Mr. Krang and Baxter escaping as well.

Back in their lair, April and the turtles tell their story to Splinter and he said to them, "I see... at least you did well tonight, my students. Still, I think destiny set us on a path, for I overhear the two men whose was respond for us said that they work with one named Krang." The turtles were shocked and Leo ask, "Is Krang behind what we are?" and Splinter reply, "We don't have the whole story, Leonardo, but we must try to protect this city from the shadows, my students. I think April would like to join us." and April reply, "Sure. I can see if I can also get a job as a reporter so I can get the scoop on any crime."

Meanwhile, Krang take Baxter to a strange metal base and said to him as Krang start to take off his coat, "Your factory loss cost me dearly, Mr. Stockman, thanks to those turtles. Now..." showing a brain like creature in his torso, the creature said in Krang's voice, "Let us discuss business face to face, Mr. Stockman."

fuuta analysis pt. 2, visual edition

i swear i like fuuta the normal amount, it's not like he's my little meow meow and it's not like I'm projecting to him in any way whatsoever.

lmao anyway i'm here to talk about the visual of backdraft. i'm mainly going to talk about the possible symbolism, the story in the mv, and hopefully can convince you to vote forgiven at least in this turn. long post ahoy (i even included the pictures to the point tumblr said "you used too many pics bruh")

we'll start the analysis with this image. i believe the can and him facing the camera to spray the paint was him saying that this is his time to tell the story through milgram. the can itself (+ barcode) actually led you to milgram's judgement page, so in a way it's like "this is my story, but I'm telling you through this medium (spray can/milgram)"

also just love that red color. red can either means passion, love, or danger. so in a way the color red REALLY suits him. just remember the color red for his "tag".

before we continue, let me write down the history of graffiti because it is heavily used in this instance. graffiti can either signifies the marking of territory or as part of a social/political movement. the marking of the environment is especially popular where gangs are prominent, so the graffiti sign can either act as a deterrent or just to show who actually owns the area. so in a way, it is connected to identity. a person's life. so let's use the graffiti as the symbol of someone's identity.

in the beginning, we see him looking forward with a smile on his face. this might mean that he was looking forward to and anticipating the task at hand.

using football/soccer terminology, he kicks off the first shoot. so he is the one who is starting the job.

in graffiti, you can use tags to show who created the graffiti. kind of like a signature. we can see there's "backdraft", "SAP", and one that i can't read. perhaps in Japanese? there's another one but i can't get a clear glimpse of it at the beginning of the graffiti on the left.

there's also this one, but much like the last tag on the first graffiti, this one is also unreadable.

but seeing that we have multiple tags in two artworks here, meaning that this is a collaborative act. this isn't just fuuta just leading them and them being ignorant, this is "them" working together to create an artwork, or in this case, a situation.

this is the first set of "pressure" graffiti that we've seen. no eyes, warm color, all bright and fiery. this shows that the pressure actually fueled fuuta's ambition. he's still all smirky and smiley, even looking at his target with a smile on his face.

remember when i said remember red as his tag? with this, it's low-key a confirmation that he started the action of erasing someone's mark. in fuuta's case, we know that he bullied people online, so this is him basically erasing the other person's identity. he started it, then followed by other people, signifies by the other color of the spray.

we can see 5 colors here, so it can mean that he was bullying a person with 4 other people. note that the character being erased seems monstrous in nature, so i believe this is fuuta basically saying "we have erased a monster!" which then continued on with another monster, started by fuuta and followed by other colors.

still the same 5 colors, meaning that this squad was the "original" so to speak.

i think fuuta has an extra grudge against the second person he targeted because he's taken the extra step to REALLY cover the artwork with more red. and he thought with this, his "task" is over.

he lets go of his spray can, or his medium to tell a story because he probably thinks that he doesn't need it anymore. his grudge is satisfied, and he can rest easy.

using the spray can as the symbol for his medium for a story, i think his modus operandi is basically overwriting the other story's person. with him covering the artwork/story of another person, instead of him being upfront in his attack, he might've worked by spreading rumors, thus overwriting the old story/artwork with his own spray, destroying the artwork. but he let go of that responsibility, he's done with it. BUT.

even though he let go of that spray can, it still followed his footsteps. the story/medium demanded that he continued by appearing once again, even though he wanted to walk away.

i think this marks the first time a milgram prisoner acknowledged the current reality--mahiru and mikoto are tagged "red" means that they are guilty, while yuno and shido aren't, so they're innocent.

i think that the red spray specifically marked the worst damage the person had in the fight. so mahiru broke her rib (or maybe her collarbone), mikoto has his whole torso marked, amane has less spray on her (which made me to believe that kotoko didn't attack her as much but still though.), and fuuta on the left side of his face. he's currently using an eyepatch, and according to the voice drama he could no longer see in that eye... so...

this then continued by him marking his own neck with the "off with your head" gesture (you know this gesture used over and over again to mean that 'you're dead') with now the eyes appearing, first staring at the fuuta who killed his graffiti-self, then to the graffiti itself. i think that the fuuta who "killed" his graffiti self was the fuuta who got beaten up by kotoko (so our current fuuta), while the graffiti fuuta is his old story. remember when i say that the graffiti represented the identity/the story of a person, him killing it off means that he doesn't like his old self, but the eyes are judging him now. that's pressure. what is Very Interesting is the color used for the pupils. the purple and the blue is the exact same one as the color tag, and the green and magenta one is new. it might signify that two members disappeared, but two new people took their position. they wanted the old fuuta back, and the current fuuta is horrified by it.

the eyes then multiplied, not just the original four. it means that the eyes on him have increased, and the pressure that once upon a time fueled his ambition now became poisonous. the purple here probably meant as poisonous than mysterious, because the shade reminded me of the poison-type pokemon. it's bright purple instead of royal purple which signifies a mysterious person. so now, all this pressure added with the eyes on him made the whole thing... unbearable for him.

when he turned around and realized his impact, he just realized that there is a fuck-ton of people who followed his example. see that the spray cans are now a lot more than just the previous five, and we even see colors that did not show up as the eyes, which probably means that they weren't exactly actively pressuring him, but only followed along for the ride.

remember when i said that the other graffiti reminded me of monsters? this one is the closest one we've got to a humanoid artwork. meaning, that this person (which then we see as a high-school girl) is different from the previous target. this one is a "human", so to speak, so he basically targeted an innocent person.

fuuta of course jumpstarted the attack on the person but notice that his spray is a lot lighter than before. he wasn't covering the face of the artwork, he literally barely covered it. this means that his story was flimsy at best, and he relied on his "friends" to cover the person in the spray.

it is now literally a group effort instead of just him being the leader and doing most of the job. his part even covered by another color, basically saying that yeah he only started it, but the others genuinely followed his steps. and fuuta didn't like that. fuuta is genuinely terrified of it. and if i see the color correctly (i might've missed some, sorry) the color used here is the same color on the pupil that starred at fuuta to pressure him.

again with spray as a medium to tell a story, they are quite literally covering the person with their "story" and we can see that it's not just teenagers who did this, noticed the person on the left with a ring on their finger, meaning that they either already married OR had a fiancee. that's an adult. not just male hands, we also have female hands. fuuta's army is literally filled with not just people his age, but both older and younger. and that terrifies the absolute shit of fuuta who only watched the attack from afar.

under "fire", the girl became a statue and broke under pressure. the hands reaching upward mean that she's probably asking for help, but there's no one to save her. so she broke up with no one by her side, and killed herself to end her suffering.

notice how the statue fell pointing to him. i think this represent the fact that the girl might've asked for his help or he might've saw her reaching out to him post-her death. it might be when he knew that his action has killed a person. sure, it's unintentional, but he created a situation where she might've considered death than surviving. and look at fuuta's expression.

he was also under "fire" and he is feeling the effect of the attack AND the guilt, and moments later his can of spray/medium of story exploded on him, both damaging him AND not allowing him to tell the story. this marks the moment where his "squad" turned their backs on him and now attacked him, probably for his moment of weakness. i also find it interesting that the can is "bloodied" so to speak, to basically say he's no longer innocent and his hands are now covered in blood.

he is running for his LIFE. notice that the gray color on his hand reached up his forearms now, meaning that he definitely did not leave his confrontation unscathed.

and now es, with their own medium to tell a story, covered him with black spray, meaning that "his story" is now overwritten by es, or by extension, milgram, and of course, the judgemental eyes that followed es' steps.

so this mv basically tells the story of him starting something and it went so big that it's uncontrollable. he never meant it to go this far, but it did, and someone died because of his action. he definitely bite more than he can chew. he showed remorse for his action, which is more than i can say for some people... *cough*

Why there is almost-dangai suddenly again -- possible reason

Some thoughts about ALoN, dangai dramas, and politics, under a cut for spoilery reasons.

I was talking to someone I have known for years on Discord about "A League of Nobleman", my newest media obsession, and my specific little meow-meow in it (Gu Qingzhang AKA Shulin AKA Tan'er) and argued he has very good reason to be the way he is, being up against the drama's ultimate villain who was responsible for murdering every last person (but two) in his home village Moluo-cun. "Well my guess is that he’s kind of like Magneto? A little bit?" my friend said, right on point.

This is actually a very good comparison; the people he grew up with were all murdered before his eyes as he had to watch from a distance, powerless to help.

In fact, on second watch, I realised that yes, the Moluo-cun villagers are coded as non-Han Chinese 'barbarians'. Han Chinese murdering 'barbarians' and being deeply, deeply in the wrong about it is actually quite a political statement in the current climate with Xinjiang etc.

ALoN (and several more dangai-adjacent dramas like it) was on hold for almost two years following the media crackdown after WoH & some interested parties throwing Zhang Zhehan to the wolves over it in 2021; I suspect that letting ALoN pass censorship now is part of the Chinese leadership picking other hills to die on after the Corona related almost uprising. Letting go of unimportant things like Corona restriction, media censorship, and probably a few more things means they can keep control of the important points, which would have become threatened if the Corona protests had evolved into full scale riots. In the end, people might have claimed their leadership had lost the Mandate of Heaven, because riots are a sure indication of that.

The Chinese people might not remember the Tian An Men uprising in 1989* because of relentless censorship, but the leadership most definitely does, and they don't want it repeated. No longer enforcing unimportant strictures makes sense in that context.

We finally get the censored dramas (with Mo Du up next) released because these are the "circuses" a dictatorship is giving its people; bread is probably already a given in today's China.-

Not my first name, but my middle name belongs to one of my mom's best friends, who I love :)

2. When was the last time you cried?

Hmm... I recently teared up while rereading The Silmarilion, does that count?

3. Do you have kids?

No, and it's not something I see for myself.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Sometimes, but I prefer to just outright criticize things rather than being sarcastic.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I notice how they treat me and others around them.

6. What's your eye colour?

Blue.

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings! Although this frames it as a choice between two things that are not really opposites, so... I also happen to love tragedies.

8. Any special talents?

Depends on whether I'm actually talented, but I think I'm a good writer, and I also have some skill with drawing/painting, although I don't do it often enough these days.

9. Where were you born?

In the Pacific Northwest.

10. What are your hobbies?

Reading, writing, drawing/painting, photography, hiking, and martial arts.

I'm currently reading two books: one about the Coastwatchers in Solomon Islands during World War II, and the other about the Guadalcanal and Bougainville campaigns... also WWII.

I'm also currently working on some writing projects, namely the one giant writing project that has consumed the past three years of my life, although I've been taking a long-ish break for the holiday period (I've been too busy).

I'm also working on my first digital artwork, which has taken a few years at this point... partly because it keeps getting bigger and bigger! Ack!

There are a lot of things I'd like to learn how to do or do more of, like scuba diving, archery, and getting a pilot's license (but I need to save up money for that).

Two cats that I love very much. One of them is a tortoiseshell named Minou (there are pictures of her in the link). She is tiny! She is only 6 pounds. She doesn't really know how to meow, so when she wants food or attention she will gently and politely tap me with her paw (it is SO cute).

The other one is an orange cat with white socks named Percy, which is short for Persimmon. She is a troublemaker, and will steal ANYTHING from the kitchen. I once saw her running out of the room with a very long udon noodle trailing from her mouth. She is very cuddly and likes to spend all of her time on my lap, purring. Otherwise she's dashing madly around the house.

I also have a Juniper bonsai, which I think counts as a pet. I have had him for about three years.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

I played soccer as a child, and loved it. I played basketball for one season and it was not for me - neither was cross country. I started doing Muay Thai and boxing when I was 17 and I liked that a hell of a lot better. Then I started doing Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo in college. Nothing makes me happier than getting to do MMA multiple times per week, and I only wish that I could train regularly right now! I don't live close enough to the school I want to go to - but once I find a new apartment I'll be able to. I also enjoy weightlifting.

13. How tall are you?

5′4″... I would like to be taller, but this IS average height for a woman in the United States (where I live), which is what I remind people who tell me I'm short!

14. Favorite subject in school?

History, to be sure, which was my major. I also enjoyed Philosophy, Russian Literature and my language classes - over the years I took Latin, Japanese, German and Russian. Unfortunately my language skills are a bit rusty now, but I don't regret the time I spent studying them. :) I would like to learn some of the languages of the Pacific Islands - there are certainly a lot to choose from.

15. Dream job?

The one I have now, basically! Although I would like to live in the South Pacific one day. I work for a research institute and my field of study is the Pacific Islands. I love what I do, I get to travel, my coworkers respect me - I'm literally so happy! It's a big relief, because I was not happy at my previous job, and it's hard to find jobs in my field, at least where I live now.

today i took part in a panel about autistic students. as someone who spent a lot of time in school trying to figure out why i was the way i was, i've learned a thing or two about it, so when i was asked to be a panelist a while back, i readily agreed.

it seemed daunting, but once we got into it, it was easier.

it was kind of fun, actually. but i ended up needing to stim big time after it because it was all exact words and expressing thoughts to other people. so that was difficult. but otherwise it was fine.

after job 1 i stopped for food and went to work with the kids, and they worked on some math first and then each moved on to work on vocabulary. they bought home their folders of computers work and i'm delighted to say that they're doing well in their classes. i think that --

hm. i want to see if i can get the statistics about the state tests from the school about the whole school, about individual classes. i want to see that information. i don't think they'd give it to me, especially since i'm just a tutor and not a parent, but it'd be something to look at to better see their placement among their peers in their school. they would prove to be an interesting research project.

anyway.

the kids are delightful.

but i gotta say that my shoulder was hurting from the inside today, and i have never been happier that i have physical therapy tomorrow than i've ever been before.

anyway dinner was from pressed café, and it was surprisingly good. we got back from dinner and joel and i hung out downstairs, and i figured out my subscription to crunchyroll has expired??? so i renewed it and watched a handful of episodes of meow meow japanese history, which is HYSTERICAL. just superb.

anyway, i haven't gotten to spend much time with joel today, but i'm also not gonna get a chance to see him much tomorrow, either, since i work late and he's got game until however late it'll go.

but the short time i did get to be with him was nice. he's always sweet. i love him so much.
