like, i'm not even liking shōgun. leaving aside how embarrassingly eurocentric, biased and racist the book is. (go read musashi if you want to read a genuine japanese epic saga with strong main characters)

as far as shōgun the show is concerned, i'm only on episode 2 and i already can't stand the white main character, with his 'american exceptionalism' yeah I know he's english but the show isn't and it shows, with carefully constructed poor wet meow meow personality and action-hero ''charisma'', and it doesn't help that the actor is a piece of wood next to titans like sanada hiroyuki et al

that said. i am living for the way these actors, previously confined to supporting characters and racist stereotypes are now dominating shows about their own country's history.

(also personally fangirling because sanada hiroyuki has been a fave for years and years! he's been acting since before the 80s iirc he's absolutely captivating in twilight samurai! and asano tadanobu became my favorite actor when i saw his incredible range in gohatto, zatoichi, ichi the killer and last life in the universe, all from the 90s/early 2000s)

i am so happy for their wins last night, good for them!!!!!!

The way armys just be helping jjks get away with all the shit they’ve done to Jimin even just this past week cause they don’t want their actions to reflect on that man poorly pisses me off so fucking bad.

Had absolutely nothing to say about them in western stans dm trying to falsely accuse Jimin of streaming fraud in the states and even tagging Spotify about it throughout the entire week. But as soon as they get the smallest opportunity to turn the animosity onto pjms no matter if it’s a set up or not, they jump on it.

They let jjks manipulate them every single time half because they’re dumb ash and half because they also want to divert the attention off of Jimin and his music.

the thing i love about bill cipher is that even after i've learned all of this stuff about him, seen him at the most vulnerable he'll ever get, seen him at his most innocent, i still can't give a flying fuck about trying to justify his actions. yes he's traumatized, yes he was twisted into what we know today, and while it gives a semblance of context to why he did what he did, it doesn't matter. he still ruined ford's life. he still drove and baited multiple humans to suicide. he still tormented every human he saw as his ticket out of the consequences of his own actions. he still took delight in his actions. he was willing to commit genocide for fuck's sake!!! (freezing all of the humans into statues). trying to explain away what he did does not get rid of what he did, but it certainly puts it in perspective. you won't be catching me being a bill apologist any time soon <3
