U18 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

The women win the FA Cup, the U21 women become national champs, the U18s win the northern league, and now they have beaten Chelsea 2-1 - at Chelsea - to be crowned national champs.

In what was a tough and slightly nervy final at Stamford Bridge, Manchester United came out on top against a strong Chelsea side to be crowned U18 national champions.

Both sides traded blows early on but United mixed it up between the high line and high press with sitting deep and playing long balls for Ethan Wheatley to run on to, which saw the young striker unlucky not to score when he hit the left post.

United's front 4 of Ethans Williams and Wheatley, Jack Fletcher, and James Scanlon look strong though, and it was Wheatley who finally got his deserved goal in the 21st minute with a cool finish off an outstretched Williams pass through the centre.

Chelsea fought back and used the physicality of RCM Ampah to push past United LB Harry Amass, as well as having chances from Runham and George, but good defending from Louis Jackson off the line and keeper Elyh Harrison kept United in front at the break.

That lead lasted for 120 seconds. Sake.

Chelsea held possession at the start of the second half and built a nice attack up the field, before whipping a deep cross in to back post and letting the tall Acheampong dwarf Harry Amass and easily pressure him off to nod home the equaliser. United were very bunched up in the box though, especially towards the front, and the coaching staff will be disappointed with the team's poor marking and positioning to allow Chelsea back into the game.

Chelsea's confidence shone through George in particular, and United's attacks were met with equally fierce counters. The boys in red smartly slowed the tempo down though to allow themselves a foot back in the game, which gave Ethan Wheatley the chance to break on the right side of the Chelsea box for a lovely cutback to Jack Fletcher. His effort was spurned, but the deflection from keeper Merrick fell perfectly to Ethan Williams to make it 2-1 United.

Some great footwork in the 63rd minute by Ethan Wheatley could and should have put United 3-1 up but for a good save and an average shot, but that's experience - and the footwork to get through the box defenders was top notch. Same can be said for James Scanlon the Gibraltan international; a right-sided attacker drifted central and coasting through the Chelsea midfield. Confidence, composure, and determination. Lovely stuff.

Poor defending in the 81st minute from the Chelsea goalscorer Acheampong let Ethan Wheatley in for a shot on goal but again, experience would have helped as the striker was indecisive and tried a late shot on goal rather than the pass to either Williams or Fletcher.

Chelsea continued to attack hard, and had United sat deep and scrambling to stay in the lead, but their wasteful finishing allowed United another two chances on the break - both to Ethan Wheatley again. How he didn't end the night with a hat-trick, let alone a second goal, is baffling, but perhaps it was the pressure of the final or bad luck or fatigue... who knows.

All that matters is that United won come that final whistle in a tough battle against a strong Chelsea youth team, and I'm sure it's a battle we'll see in years to come for some of these aspiring professionals.

Im procastinating on studying so i'll take this as an opportunity to ramble lmao it's vaguely set in the age of sail but with a few tweaks and so.

My marble hornets sea au (name pending kekw) it's a psychological horror au focused on the isolation and paranoia that ravages a small ship (The Hornet probably lmao, I am NOT that original) after it's left stranded on the sea.

With the captain and most of the more experienced workers dead, Brian, Alex, Jay, Tim, Seth and Sarah are left adrift on the ocean for almost 5 months. The ship is eventually found by a whaling ship, however, only Jay is found aboard. passed out and hid beneath the deck between the empty wooden boxes that once held the cargo.

The only thing Jay is left with is the memories of the night before the incident that left most of the crew dead, a week of the isolation the new crew was left in and the incoherent ramblings of the logbook of the ship.

He remakes his life back on land, having gotten an intense fear of the sea for reasons he can't recall, and becomes a small journalist for a local paper in a whaling town. However, after 3 years and increasing curiosity, Jay decides to try and find out what happened to the ship, for both himself and in honor of the few memories he has of his friends.

However, as Jay starts joining different ships in search of the truth, following an old letter that claims to have been sent by his old friend Alex, he begins to feel increased paranoia and fear as each ship he joins has a tragedy happen upon it.

It's almost like he is being hunted by something...

I know that every Ranger with a Wolf theme is legally required to have a 'Go it Alone' episode, but was there REALLY a point to this with Merrick? This was not only something that felt incredibly forced, but also just...dumb. Although his showing true affection to the pub owner was nice.

Master Org confirmed Nice Guy Incel. Who did not have to wear that bald cap, but apparently did it for the bit.

Annnnnnd we continue with Max being played up as Team Child once more. Just gonna throw this out there to appease myself: he was absolutely an only child, probably homeschooled, DEFINTELY over eighteen, but in that weird place where he's so socially awkward that he hasn't even kissed someone yet and doesn't know how to interact with his teammates beyond being the voice of hope and excitement.

Money down, the only reason they had Ransik get half-blown up by three powerful beings and undergo REVERSE mutation was so they could show off Vernon Wells being fucking sexy.

I rolled my eyes so hard at the "fight" between Shayla and Merrick over their "music date" that I think I gave myself vertigo.

*Throws a wrench, an axe, a lawn chair, and a whole ass piano at the writing staff and directors* NO to Alyssa being made into a furry to beg at the feet of a gross monster! SHAME ON YOU!

Like i said her prefer phone calls especially when he is free.

His voice is calm and steady, but you can tell he relaxes when he hears you.

Keep thinking about unhinged Walker boys. Not even after Rorke took Logan, just in general.

Like, their late teen years were very tumultuous because of ODIN/joining the army, they are 26 and 28 during the game, they’re still YOUNG.

Mid-late 20s and they’re fighting an intense war for their country, fighting on their father’s behalf, fighting a grudge from HIS past, etc. I absolutely believe, aside from their training keeping them in line (and the other Ghosts), that they’d understandably be a little manic at times.

I think you can mostly see it in the way Hesh acts sometimes in the game. Not to say he didn’t have every reason to lol, but he did act bratty and defiant at multiple points, and I think that’d be multiplied in a way we didn’t even see.

Before Elias died, he knew exactly how to keep them in line, being their father and all, but after he was gone, I see the rest of the Ghosts (especially new Captain Merrick) having to reign them in more than anticipated. With Elias being dead and Rorke still being a flaming cunt, they would struggle even more.

Keegan, Kick, hell even Neptune would have to participate in Operation: Keep The Boys Sanity Intact, because they certainly don’t have the mental bandwidth to do it themselves all the time (their brains are very FRESHLY fully developed…)

And I love that in game, Hesh has a specific monologue after Elias dies where he’s all calmly and solemnly stating that they’ll take over for their dad, finish the mission, etc. And yes they are grown ass men, been through a fuck ton of training…but let’s be so for real lmfao, that’s a lot to have on your plate for two dudes that are hardly cresting 30 years old.

I just think, aside from the few moments we see in game where they (Hesh lol) are loosing their shit a little, it’d be much more chaotic on a personal level than was shown.

I wrote something about the mentor/mentee dynamic I think Merrick would have with Hesh AFTER Logan’s taken, but I like to think he’d literally have double on his plate before Rorke snatched the baby off the beach.

I just like looking at both sides of the same coin. They grew up too fast, they’re no doubt traumatized, have been through extensive military training, and all the personal experience we see them gain….that definitely sobered them up real quick and knocked their maturity levels up several pegs.

But at the same time, I just don’t believe they’d always be that put together in the ways that we see, especially not compared to the more experienced elder Ghosts. Perhaps a sort of “we’re mature but you guys are seasoned” type of vibe.

And despite the only real description of Logan’s personality being that he’s a quiet, cold blooded killer, and an excellent soldier…bro is quite literally 26 years old and in the damn trenches, you can’t tell me he wasn’t routinely being a brat when he was able to be lol (babies of the family lock in!).

Even more interesting on Logan’s part, who would really be keeping him in line primarily when he acts up, pre or post Elias death…? Davey poo I’m afraid. And I think Hesh would get to a point where the weight of it all, plus keeping Logan in line and on the general right life path would have him tweaking.

Imagine having all that on top of you, then your dad dies, and your only surviving family is your clingy little brother…lmfao. Of course Logan is more than capable on his own as we can see in the game, but, and it’s been said before and will continue to be said, Hesh was parentified to the max. And it only becomes more clear when you read between the lines.

I just think in similar, but also their own separate ways, they’d be a little off their rocker sometimes. I like to imagine Keegan having the common fanon agreed bond with Logan, and helping him keep his eye on the prize, and I feel like Hesh would attach himself to Merrick (even older male authority figure, he lives and breathes the slivers of validation he’d get…)

And then there’s Kick…lol. In an unforeseen way, I imagine him being like a sort of glue in this scenario honestly. We don’t get much info on him, he’s hardly even in the damn game very much, but I think of him as being oddly very wise (not too far off since he’s not younger like the Walkers, but he’s probably not a whole lot older than Keegan/Ajax either) despite his nervous system being just as shot from fighting a war. He’d be like the cousin with some randomly sage advice for Hesh and Logan.

TLDR; the Walker brothers are frazzled, they need an Ativan, therapy, and a long winters nap

I’m heartbroken over the loss of Matthew Perry. But I’m seeing so many posts about him in Friends and not enough of his other awesome projects. 4 of his characters are in my list of comfort shows. I’ve been through so much, and watching my comfort shows with him, has been with me through those times.

Matt Albie - Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip

My favorite show he’s in by far. If you haven’t seen it you should find it and watch it! It’s only one season, but it’s soooo worth it. I don’t think it’s streaming anywhere without buying it, but if you’re talented enough you can find it elsewhere.

Joe Quincy - The West Wing

Just a fantastic show. Please watch it! It’s on Max.

The Good Wife and The Good Fight - Mike Kresteva

Two great shows!! And Mike is a fun character.

Fools Rush In - Alex Whitman

Romantic comedy. Very good! I’m not sure where/if it streams. I haven’t watched it in a while but it was always a favorite.

Three To Tango - Oscar Novack

Such a good movie! Funny funny and a great cast!

Ally McBeal - Todd Merrick

It’s a short guest spot for him, but he is great! Plus, it’s one of my top 5 shows and simply wonderful and fun.

Matthew Perry - Studio 60

Obviously, these are not all of his roles, but they’re among my favorites. He deserves to be remembered for his roles outside of Friends. I truly hope you check some of these out, because he was so great in everything he did.

The first What if scenarios.

Context

So I had a thought. What if in the timeline where William lives, instead of more suffering porn for Chloe, it's Max's parents who die in a car accident. With no relatives listed, The Prices take Max in as their legal guardians. Chloe does the best she can to help Max heal, but Max is still traumatized. Chloe retains her free spirit and positive energy, Max becomes a a goth, with a penchant for taking pictures. Like Lydia Deetz.

Losing her parents makes Max more withdrawn, while Chloe is there to help build Max up and help her throughout her mourning, just like she knows Max would be there for her if something happened to William. Since Chloe is technically Max's step-sister, there would be no Pricefield. But there would be potential for Marshfield and Amberprice.

Karen decides to stay for the kids, at least until Daniel graduates. Because Karen stays, she plays zombie with Daniel, avoiding Brett ruining everything and avoiding the Seattle incident.

Joyce finally chooses to be a mother for her daughter and stands up to David's abuse. What I mean is instead of only siding against David because Max said so. Maybe in episode 3, Max and Chloe talk about William, Chloe and eventually David. Max doesn't understand how they got together or how she can put up with David's treatment of Chloe. Joyce defends it like in episode 2, but a sudden crack in her voice. You can properly convince Joyce that David’s mistreatment of Chloe is wrong was wrong. Then David returns and David's blinded by rage and snaps at Chloe right in front of Joyce and Joyce has had it and finally stands up for Chloe by kicking him out. Joyce then hugs Chloe and apologizes for taking his side for all these years and Joyce realizing that she made a mistake and that all they really needed was each other

Always bothered me that Joyce only begins to side against David by Max's word. She might as well have screamed that Max was the golden child. Joyce spent literal years watching David treating Chloe like crap right in front of her, and even now that he’s raising his hand at her she’s not reacting, but the second he talks a little too harshly to Max, she jumps to take her side and honestly. Chloe cannot not have noticed that. Obviously she wasn’t going to start a scene about this since they were already all fighting with David, but I’m pretty sure she would’ve under different circumstances because. The audacity. I would’ve gone mad.

Lying to Rachel about the truth leads to Rachel being found alive. In LIS1 Chloe says her parents don’t believe she’s missing. So my suggestion is they give up on her if you choose to tell her the truth. But if you lie, then it leads to a search/manhunt lead by James to find Rachel and it results in Chloe, James and David finding Rachel alive and arresting Jefferson, Frank and Nathan

Frank and Damon are dead. Sera leaves. Chloe finds herself in the criminal underworld. She's had to deal with Damon's loyalists, many turned to be loyal to her. But those loyal to Damon tried to screw her over. Chloe killed them. She's in too deep now.

Chloe has gotten accustomed to a life of crime and the new drug kingpin of Arcadia Bay and Rachel is her partner in crime. At some point, Nathan is encroaching on her territory and she doesn’t like that. Not. One. Bit. So, Chloe sends Rachel to entice Nathan and lure him in a trap. Chloe busts into Nathan’s dorm and sees enough evidence that she could make it look like an accidental overdose. “Don’t mess with the Prescotts? More like don’t fuck with the Price” Chloe gets a reputation as the Raven and whatever the Raven says goes. “Quote the Raven, Nevermore”

After learning of Safi's very clearly evil plan and instead of given the choice, she wakes up. If you chose Bae, Max wakes up in Chloe's arms. Chloe comforts Max. "Have a bad dream, Supermax?" "Not just bad, it was dumb." Max sees she and Chloe are in New York. Max's entries in New York have been framed in a Gallery and they are living large and they resemble their LIS 2 selves, meanwhile Chloe runs a Tattoo parlor and a garage on the side. They got their happy ending. If you chose the Bay, she wakes up in Warren's arms and sees they graduated Blackwell and UO, living their lives as a Photojournalist and successful Chemist and they are on their way to Arcadia Bay to pay their respects to Chloe. All is well.
