ill never forgive the world for what they did to midge. in 1990 they made an entire set dedicated to Midge's marriage. she was just a girl, Barbie's best friend who wanted a more simple life.

she just wanted a husband and kids and a wonderful family !!!! so in 2002- 12 YEARS! AFTER SHE GOT MARRIED! why was it such a controversy that she got pregnant and a pregnant doll was released?

the doll was intended to be for children who are expecting siblings into their family, to introduce them to the wonder of life that came with a new baby. such an incredibly sweet premise!!!

and midge was the perfect doll for it, she got married to alan 12 years prior and come onnn LOOK AT THEM!!! they are such a cute family.

and yet the public freaked out. and her entire character plot of being a wife and having a loving family was wiped from her character when introduced in 2013. midge ill never forget what they did to you and midge ill always love you 🩷

So this is my earliest memory I guess???? I was 5. I remember getting this Barbie bc my grandpa and I were watching golf and I bet him if the golfer got a hole in one, he would buy me a Barbie. He was probably gonna buy it for me anyway, and figured it wasn't likely the guy was gonna get a hole in one, but the dude got a hole in one and I got this Barbie lol

My Scene Instagram Profiles | Barbie 💅🏻💕

This is so fucking blurry I'm sorry, click on the pic for better quality. I was not about to miss the opportunity to post a Barbie-inspired My Scene IG profile on the same day the Barbie movie premiered, so here it is! This one was actually a bit harder to make. Obviously, Barbie is known for being hyperfeminine and pink-obsessed, however, I didn't feel like Barbie was always like that in My Scene. She was still pretty girly though and I wanted to make it true to her My Scene personality but still have it look cute. Eventually I just said "fuck it" and made most of the pics have some kind of pink in them because it would've felt boring as hell otherwise. You can't have Barbie without pink, that's just not a thing. I still tried to incorporate other aspects of her personality in My Scene, mainly her being a party girl and loving iced coffee lol. I'm pretty sure she was the one who planned Nolee's sweet 16 and also helped with that Masquerade Madness party. But yeah, happy Barbie movie premiere day! Make sure to watch it in theaters with your tackiest pink cowgirl hat bc that's what I'm doing. 💖

I know this not my typical post but also I just saw Barbie and I JUST have to say:

This whole movie is absolutely AMAZING from the sets to the costumes and actors and everything but I gotta talk about one thing: that one part (keeping this spoiler free but those who have seen the movie will most likely know what part I'm talking about anyway lol) completely SHATTERED me and I cried in my car for like TEN MINUTES ABOUT IT!!!!! That one particular sequence was just. Superbly done. And it's not even the first time that it has been done either but just. It hit me that no matter what there will always be pain and disappointment and anger and everything else, but through that there is still beauty in this world and opportunities and love and you can CHOOSE to find all of it throughout everything. The world is so full of negativity, true, but it's also filled with love and joy and beauty through the pain, and THAT is what makes this life worth living. There are actually a couple of scenes that made me feel this way, but that particular one was a boiling over point for me lol

In case you haven't noticed by now I hecking LOVED the movie lol PLEASE GO SEE BARBIE!!!! If not for anything else, then for that one scene! You deserve this reminder in your life no matter who you are :)

Another thing I picked up before leaving toys. I was looking for it pretty much all month and thought it probably wouldn't appear until around the time the movie came out. I took a peek in the bins at Wal-Mart a few times but never really looked through the pegs much when when we were leaving I went to look at the Hot Wheels pegs and there it was! it was right out in front! I didn't even have to look through them I was like "Wow! that was easy!" I have to say I wish I could find everything that quick but I was happy to to get it.
