02/07/2024: Gwenpool

Continuing Marvel Month here's Gwenpool. Now I like the whole look of Gwenpool but I don't quite get her anti-hero name Identity.

... Like with Deadpool it makes sense! Wade named his Antihero alter ego after the "Deadpool" at the Bar he goes to but Gwen Pool all I think about is Gwen Stacy in a Pool �� erm there's probably more too It than that. Anyways Gwenpool was a Fun character to both draw and Colour in... I'mma gonna work on some more Marvel Month things this week!

Hey um I know there's a large chance that you most likely won't see this, but I just have to say this. When you had first spoken up about leaving the fandom I was confused as to why because I didn't really realize how dry it was becoming. I just wanna say how utterly correct you were. It has declined even moreee since your leave (not saying you caused it or anything). I sometimes find myself comparing the notes/reblogs from Tom!peter fanfics to the tasm!peter ones and the difference is astounding ( it has me wondering if anyone even knows that Tom!peter exists). It's really sad, the fandom honestly can't be revived, like where is everyone??? I have so many questions about the decline of content in the fandom ( I know the interactions from the readers played a huge part, but I also feel like there may have been other factor that lead to this.) Did everyone in the fandom just grow up or something?? Anyways, I miss you lots and hope you are doing well and your new fandoms are treating you right.

wow this was a doozy to read but in a good way 😭 the delusional main character side of me wants to think my absence had an impact of any kind lmaooo but to be honest, the fandom was already in really bad shape.

lack of reader interaction personally wasn’t that big of a factor for me, i was incredibly lucky and am still grateful for the consistent feedback and love y’all gave me and i still sometimes look through reblogs on my fave fics for writing inspo :”) it meant so much to me and i look back with so much fondness on all the fun times we had with more interactive series, especially break my heart.

not to sound like i’m giving a ted talk, but what drove me away more than anything was the toxicity of the fandom. granted all fandoms have a certain level of it, but this one was really, truly bad in 2021-2022. there’s only so much consistent harassment and suicide bait a girl can overlook while still feeling welcome and excited abt this space 😭 when i look back at that stuff now i’m honestly shocked so many people stayed as long as we did.

rabid shipping culture aside, i personally feel like the mcu spiderman franchise took a big hit in no way home that drove a lot of ppl away. obviously they couldn’t keep going forever with a 30 year old guy playing a 19 year old, but their creative decisions in nwh are questionable at best to me. the end of mcu peter’s story was so final and abrupt that, combined with how flip-floppy the writers were abt a follow-up trilogy with new characters and a time jump, didn’t leave much room for fanfic to carry on. they quite literally erased mcu peter as a character and individual from the mcu itself lmao it would be pretty hard for people to write copious fanfics about a guy who has no one bc no one knows who he is and his family is dead as hell.

that being said, i really am sorry you feel like it’s difficult to enjoy and share your passion in this space. that feeling sucks and i hope that, if you write fanfic, the lack of engagement and content doesn’t stop you from being creative and sharing what you wanna share. trends and fandoms come and go in waves, you never know when a piece of media or an actor has a revival in the general public. i don’t know what roles tom has going on but if you feel inspired to engage in them when the time comes, i’m sure there will be ppl there to interact. you’re never too ‘grown up’ to enjoy fandom, especially not one as iconic and timeless as spider-man in all variations. if there’s a character, there’s ppl out there creating art for them.

27/07/2024: The Masked Parkour runner and Phryge.

Has anyone here been watching the Paris Olympic games? It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since we had the last one in 2022. The opening ceremony was a bit odd, and very "disjointed " and the Ceremony took place all over Paris and not within a Stadium.

But there were a couple of characters that stick out during the Opening ceremony, one of them Included this Masked Parkour runner, Running over rooftops and leaping into other Buildings with the Olympic torch in hand. Although not for too long as It started to rain in Paris.

I also drew a Phryge the Olympic mascot running along side the Masked Man. And If you're trying to work out what they are, then I shall tell you! The Phryge is based upon a Phrygian caps, and I've only just found out there was some controversy with the Phryge as some people thought they were based on the Female Clitoris 😐.... Get your Mind out the Gutters people come on...

The largest cultural impact this years Olympics will have is the introduction of a new tumblr sexyman

"I work alone, Superman," Bruce insisted, his frown deepening because he just knew Clark was right behind him with his brow quirked.

"That's rich coming from you," Clark pointed towards the makeshift kitchen area Bruce had built because his wife insisted on having one so she could make something when she came around. That kitchen area currently occupied by none other than Mrs. Wayne herself.

And Dick.

And Jason... and Tim and Damian.

They were currently arguing about whether they wanted pancakes or waffles before they go out. Damian was standing on the countertop, pointing his sheathed sword at Tim.

"It would be easier for mother to make waffles," Damian hissed at the older boy, a scowl that resembled Bruce's marring his face.

"You know what, you are right," Tim raised his hands, "but we should pair it with chicken, maybe we should cut open bat-chicken and fry it."

The smug look on Damian's face turned into a pure horror as he imagined his beloved chicken—the one he had gotten just two nights ago—on a platter, fried. "Mother! Father! Did you hear what he said!?"

Mrs. Wayne gave her son a noncommittal hum as she flipped the pancake she was cooking—she was making both waffles and pancakes, while Bruce grunted quietly, the parents were not taking sides.

Jason laughed so hard he fell off the stool, continuing to lay on the floor, clutching his sides. "I can see the light," he gasped, trying to get some oxygen into his lungs between laughter.

"Don't go towards it!" Dick nudged his 'dying' brother with his foot.

Clark looked amused, "you brought the whole army here, we don't need Justice League anymore," he added with a chuckle.

"They wanted to come," Bruce responded, turning around so he could take a look at his family. The scowl he had softened just a little without him knowing.

"If you guys are all here, then who's protecting Gotham?" Diana came around the corner, looking majestic as usual, taking her spot beside Mrs. Wayne so she could learn a thing or two.

Bruce had a little smirk on his face, "Alfred."

Steph's Year of Recovery

So! Danny noticed that a new face had made it's way into town. Two new faces actually, an older lady known as Dr Leslie, and a girl about his age called Steph.

He first met them when he was at the hospital for one of his parents. They had stood too close to an explosion again, and he met them while he was in the waiting Area.

Dr Leslie was a strict but obviously caring older woman, who seemed to be the one taking care of Steph as a kind of maternal figure, or maybe more like an Aunt. She greeted him simply and then walked away to talk with the Secretary, leaving him to talk to Steph.

Steph was a blond girl in a Wheelchair, and he could see bandages piking out of her clothes as he talked to her. She explained that she had been in an Accident a few weeks ago that left her wheelchair bound for a while, and that she had come to Amity for their surprisingly good Medical Centers.

He and Steph got along really well, and by the end of it he asked her for her Number so they could continue talking later. They stayed in touch, and when she was finally permitted to leave the Hospital, he introduced her to his friends. They all got along like a House on Fire, both figuratively and in one memorable case very literally (Vlad had pissed them off okay!)

Eventually Steph recovered enough that she moved from a Wheelchair to Crutches, and their shenanigans got even more chaotic (Vlad hadn't even pissed them off, this time was just for fun)

The only thing Danny could complain about was the fact that Steph was hiding something from them.

She said that she had been in an Accident a while ago, which was why they had come to Amity in the first place. But Danny knew it was more than that.

He could sense lingering traces of Death coming from her after all.

...

Steph honestly loved her current life.

Sure she had lost everything, her home, her health, her friends, her life, but she had gained new things too! Like Danny and the Gang! They were honestly some of the best friends she had ever had, and for some reason they just clicked with her instantly.

Danny was interesting and funny, Sam was vegan and a badass, Tucker was smart and witty, they all fit with her personality perfectly! It almost felt like she bad been friends with them for years. (She ignored the way her heart skipped a beat when she saw them)

But she still couldn't shake the sense that they were hiding something from her.

She knew it had something to do with the Ghost Problem in the town. And wasn't that a kicker, there was a whole Supernatural Ghost Outbreak in this Town and nobody knew about it. Dr Leslie had said that Amity was off the map enough to hide from Bruce, but she hadn't mentioned it was hidden from the Justice League itself!

Danny, Sam, and Tucker definitely knew more about it than they let on however. Whenever a Ghost Attack would happen, at least one of them would rush off with some practiced excuse and return after the Ghost Attack was over all dirty. She could guess what was going on, and she really didn't like it.

(This had killed her, she had died doing what they were doing, she didn't want to lose them)

Eventually she had to confront them, coincidentally on the same day they decided to confront her.

"Are you Vigilantes?" / "Did you die?"

"..."

"What?" / "What?"

Black mask: but a woman like Gotham? she is forever.

Black mask: Even though I was so mistreated in recent years.

V/n: So you want to date Gotham? Wow, the biggest hear me out I've ever seen and I don't know if I support it, I don't think so- *gets hit in the head*

*Red Hood giving Y/n a look that says "what the hell are you doing!?" (Y/n interpreted it as this since they don't know)*

V/n: Oh shit! It hurt! But I understand, I'll shut up *crosses arms*

Red hood: I'm sorry about my partner.

Black mask: It's not a problem, they are very interesting guys.

V/n: Scary *mumbles and grabs Jason's arm*

The Justice League knowing Bruce's Civvie ID aside, have they never consider the thought of Bruce Wayne being a Villain/Crime Lord?

Bare with me right now.

A majority of the Gotham elites are corrupt or some kind, and with Oswald Cobblepot, Black Mask, and Harvey Dent ending up being Rogues to prove that point, its normal to doubt literally any Gotham elite.

And It's most definitely normal to doubt Bruce Wayne.

He's got the Villain backstory. Dead parents? Grew up in a crime infested city? The CEO of a multi billion dollar worth Company? One of the most suspiciously successful men in the globe? Has a butler who quite literally looks like he'd be a secret agent? He's got it all! Gotham is lucky he didn't end up actually becoming a Villain. Not to mention, the similarities and the comradeship with Lex Luthor, a publicly known nemesis of a Justice League member(cough cough* Superman).

What about all the fundings and donations you ask? Since a majority of them are perfectly timed after a certain catastrophy happens or quite literally raising fundings for a rebuild of some property damaged from a fight or so, they think it's just Bruce trying to fix the flaws of his plan, fixing the mistakes of the people he is in charge of, and so on.

Even the Villains and Rogues have the same opinion about Bruce. The way they see Bruce Wayne changing his whole personality and posture whenever a threat is around, the way his glare shows the calculative and knowing glint all over, and the way he negotiates and make deals with the seriousness and the coldness of his whole presence. They know Bruce is definitely onto something.

Being suspiciously nice and too skillful as a public celebrity may be a mistake on Bruce's side

But at least no one would think Bruce is Batman... This is somewhat better than that.
