The book is finally out!
Tumblr media
Here's a line:
Amidst her chant, she mumbles under her breath some noises that sound like self-directed arguments where she can find no answers to as she spirals into a dark pit of trepidation and angst. Her anxieties have never been clinically diagnosed but are plain to see. Her chronic compulsions have blistered her palms and fingers; they are almost always wrinkly from endless washing. In thirty minutes, her chore is complete and she meticulously hangs her clothes piece by piece, flatly on a rack to dry under the sun.

Thinking like what if Su Xing has a nickname for Ganondorf, or specifically since Ganon, that being "Ganonga"
Not "Ganon-ga"
But "Gan-nonggg-gah"
Assuming people reading this have more western accent, it's kinda like
"Guh/Gah-nongg-gah"
I think from the way Su Xing says it, it's always a very playful and loving sounding name. I think even in the very earlier games where it was just Ganon he called him this, and when he is Ganondorf, he also still calls him this but of course with more conscious thought that he's okay with it.
You could also interpret it as Su Xing's accent, he always says something like auuu, lah, lao, lo, or such so maybe at first it bloomed as an accent thing but I think it's deeper than that.
Like -dorf notes on Ganondorf's human gerudo form, but for Su Xing to use "nga" especially in the context of when he was just Ganon is Su Xing's way of accepting Ganon as his family, as one of him. Which in the place of a naga, especially in an Agua Zhu'er context, that is very personal.
As Su Xing is a naga I think it is like a more personal suffix to add "nga" to his name.
Perhaps with -dorf, Su Xing may say his name as "Ganongadoh" or if he is speaking more slowly, "Ganongadorf", but the f is still not strong and more of just a huff of air in the way he pronounces it.
I think this makes more sense if you know what a malay accent sounds like and how people generally sound like when they are speaking malay, and it's also to note this may lean more to malaysian chinese type accent cause Su Xing is malaysian chinese and so am I as we are both malay too.

Sometimes im reminded that Malaysian tend to have like the habit of switching up languages with no big issues and forgot that not everyone can do that
I went to the local food market, the type that is out in the open with several stalls all placed together closely and its crowded and stuff right
So I talk to my brother and sister in English, Mandarin + Cantonese to my mom and dad. If we're ordering food from the aunty uncle, we either use hokkien / fujian or Malay (depending the race of the seller)
There was a neighbouring customer who were white(think they were from America judging from the bag and general mannerism) that started talking to my dad and he was just saying how insane we sounded switching languages around HAHA
