912: Diana Zimmerman - The Enchantress

Diana Zimmerman is an enchanting woman in every sense of the word: personality, charm, abilities, looks, intelligence, skill, and so much more. She has led a life of magic like few other women. And she is being recognized for her achievements by being inducted to the Los Angeles Times Global Magicians Hall of Fame on July 9th, 2025. Married at 19 to Dick Zimmerman, magician and creative genius, she performed around the world on television and stage with her one-woman performance. She traveled with a giant gramophone then later switched to a thumb tie and pick pocketing. She developed and still works with the Magic Castle Junior Program (which just celebrated their 50th year) and is the author of several books of fantasy. But she also authored the definitive collector’s edition of the Siegfried and Roy book.

Diana has so many stories that she shares with us this week including her early days working with her then-husband, Dick Zimmerman, then how Cary Grant encouraged her to form the junior program at the Magic Castle, and many stories about the late Siegfried and Roy. She was a close confidant to the illusionists and shares some “behind the scenes” stories from Little Bavaria to “the Incident” that ended their Las Vegas run.

Anneliese Cousland: She was 19 on the night castle cousland was attacked and one of howe's soldiers was the first person she ever killed. She had been thrown to the floor and was being strangled to death when she was able to grab one of the daggers that the soldier carried with him on his belt and she stabbed him in the neck with it, throwing him back and then grabbing this one sword she kept hidden underneath her bed (she never thought she would need it, but she kept it there as a precaution) to finish him and the other soldier who just entered. She was. very traumatized from this and she barely had time to process what she did. Like even after during the rest of the fighting, she was just trembling for the most of it, because one thing is hitting straw dummies, the other is actually living breathing people and having the blood stain your hands and sword. i think lowkey duncan has to help her process All That while on the trip to Ostagar.

Elizabeth Hawke: She was 10. The twins were 4 and Leandra was tending to them, and Malcolm wasn't home when a Templar showed up in their doorstep, asking about suspicious magical activity that some people had reported (the little house that they had was farther apart from where people lived, this is before lothering, but they would frequent the local market a lot and ocasionally people passed their house by). Elizabeth panics a little, and stammers as she tries to tell this templar to go away but he's all 'im bringing you in for questioning', grabs her arm and begins to take her away from home - just as he does that, leandra finally hears the commotion and screams at the image of a templar dragging elizabeth away. Elizabeth, who was panicking, gets even more panicked from her mother's screaming, and she uses mind blast to get this templar away from her. He falls on the ground and grabs his sword and just as he's about to run at her, she casts flame blast with her bare hands (hence where soem of her first scars on her hands and fingers are born) and just. fries him to death. Leandra just runs and hugs her kid while looking at her hands, and Malcolm finally appears and sees the burning templar and his wife and kid, and they move to another village that night. if i begin talking about the repercussions of this this post will be longer than it already is btw

Asala Adaar: Her first kill was during a mercenary job. Originally, she had been hired solely for support - freeze this guy, heal this other one, and just stay back for the most of it. She was alreayd pretty old here by the way but i wont give a specific age. The work was going mostly fine, until they were ambushed out of nowhere and a huge fight began. Asala tried to keep close to the actual fighters of the group, and keeping enemies away, but when someone gets in close contact to her and grabs her, she turns around and beats them with her staff. The force of her swing plus the way they hit the ground, the guy died almost on instant. She felt a little weird, but one of the other mercenaries quickly congratulated her on the kill and they move on, so Asala is not super affected by it. I think its after this that she grows more comfortable using offensive spells. Before this, she always tried to not kill people, like even her ice spells were mostly to freeze and run then to kill, and she didnt even use lighting spells then, but afterwards it just. becomes smthg she has to do. (she almost. nearly had to kill someone when she was younger, when their commune got attacked but her father landed the killing blow then so it doesnt count)

Dawn Thorne: Dawn was 17 and she had just become a Grey Warden when she and other new recruits/junior members were sent on a small scouting mission. They got ambushed by darkspawn and this was her first time in real combat, which was difficult because circle mage from the gallows doesnt know what to do in a situation like this. She sees a darkspawn jumping on top of one of her colleagues, and the first thing that comes to her mind is wacking it with her staff, which is what she does. It gets up from the ground and jumps at her, but she uses the pointy end of her staff (imagine this is one of the DA2 staffs ok) and stabs the darkspawn. A lot of blood oozes on her but she kinda feels nothing as she sees the darkspawn die. Its an odd feeling, because it looks vaguely human but it really isnt and the others quickly tell her not to feel too bad about it, but she was also raised Andrastian so part of her feels bad for the sin of killing in general. She just gulps and goes along with it and tries not to think too hard about it.

Dating/Crush?: Gilbert Flamme (Dating against the wishes of both their fathers.)

Comes across as a very serious person, but it is just her mother at her core. Speaks in formalities in public, swears like a sailor in private/with people she's close to. Lowkey hovers over the Chaotic Evil alignment. While evil at her core, she's been raised with love and understanding. So, to show that love, she's made the choice not to become an evil dictator until Malleus has passed.

To make up for her weak magic skills has become very good at hand to hand combat (WHO TAUGHT THE TANK JUDO????)

Is very open about her goal to overblot one day.

Gets periods like her mother. (Literally sends out a period ping to make her mother and Charsya start theirs as well before sleeping through hers entirely)

Unique Magic: Dragon's Hoard (Working Title). Though her magic radius is painfully small compared to her brothers, she's able to absorb the magic of offensive spells and use it as her own. Hasn't needed to use her own magic for a few years now. Discovered during a failed assassination attempt when the triplets were 8.

The easiest to approach of the triplets. Loves talking to people and finding new things to connect over. More of a 'trap card' style fighter than direct attacks.

Chaotic Neutral to the core. There for a good time and kind of hates that Malgona makes him be the brain cell at times. Potentially has a crush on Jabari that he's purely confusing for friendly admiration.

Terrible at jokes. They either fall completely flat or get so out of control that a small nation is being destroyed in a civil war. This has happened TWICE. (Malacent: I can't joke with anyone...)

Unique Magic: Undiscovered. Unbothered and in no rush to figure it out.

Dating/Crush?: No time for that romance mess, hes got magic and sword fighting to learn. (Claimed he was going to marry Sebek when he was young. DON'T BRING THAT UP)

The friendliest yet pettiest of the triplets. Has cursed his classmates multiple times over small things like someone taking the last pudding cup at lunch or not saying 'bless you' when someone sneezes. Strong magic but prefers sword fighting, enchants his weapons in his spare time. Claims to be Lawful Good but is Chaotic Good at best.

Has an odd blessing on him that in dire times, he will always be lucky. No one is sure where the blessing came from.

Managed to snap one of his horns completely in half as a child. Because of that, the other horn had to be shaved down to keep his head level, so Malicent's horns are noticeably shorter than his older siblings. (Malgona tried to bolt cut her and Malathew's horns off in an act of solidarity, but Lilia managed to stop her)

Unique Magic: Undiscovered. Bothered and pouting about it since Malgona got hers.

Hannibal:

Elizabeth: The first kid that Hannibal taken a liking of due to having something in commons: witnessing a death of a parent (mom die from giving birth to her and Hannibal witnessing the last moment of his dad’s life), being used by their own family, and loves eating hotdogs. He will regret in letting Elizabeth go because she chose to live with her dad and extended family because she is suffering in the long run, thus she will be send to be with her paternal grandparents, who are castle servants in Lumenia Royal Palace, for a short while. When Elizabeth enroll in Ultimos’ school, she wants Hannibal to be her host parent. The two will be low key wants to be a family together, as father and daughter, but cannot expresses how they feel.

Velvet: He just took her, after he saw staryummies outcasted her in the village they made in Montagne Mansion. She gave up her dream and lost her passion. To thinks that Stella was her idol and she pick Emo Junior to be the mascot of her new clothing line! Yeah, she was one of the cousins who bullied Elizabeth, but that does not means she deserves to become furless to the point of being unrecognizable and get disowned by her own mom. Hannibal made an agreement with Pakmar that he will fund Velvet’s business in the future, as for now partnership, and be teaching her the ropes in business as a part of the partnership if someone else give her the bare minimum and love. So it is a temporary co-fostering to official co-fostering to adopting. (I am still working on it. Sorry for that.)

Blake, Nash, Uma, Mimi, and Marin: Despite Elizabeth’s half siblings get free housing and foods provided in Ultimos’ school for the underprivileged, they want Hannibal to be the dad. So Ultimos persuaded to make Hannibal a host parent and will get a payment provided, then allows him to think about adopting them once he spend time with them, because they magically fly to his house. Oof.

Bluey: Hannibal will be given Bluey the choice of continuing to stay with his parents, be in the foster system, or stay with him, his sister, Velvet, and cousins. He chose to be with Hannibal after he see his mom left him behind, stole Hannibal’s money, and ran off, after Hannibal had provided protection to his mom after the staryummies started justifiably attack her. The mom, Umbra-Violet/Umbra-Victoria is in jail by the way.

Vinnie, Vanny, May, Ben, Helena, Aurora, and Yumi, Delilah, Meena, Laurel, Poppy, Roxie, Aiden, Jewel, and Gem: Dorana the Second ask Hannibal to take them in because their parents are severely neglecting them and other reason.

Blake: He followed Hannibal. Why he does that? Why he stays in his house? I don’t know. Probably to learn about the world around him, and staying with Hannibal gives him an adventure of risks and dangers that will traumatize him. Which he did because he stop eating artificial tiffins and hamburgers.

Max: I don’t know.

Unknown numbered and unnamed Staryummies: When all the kids grow up, they are left in Hannibal’s front door, banadaged up. Let’s just say one of the Lumenia’s royal family member have a craving for lumens, both corrupted and non-corrupted.

After getting into Mario with a more “fandom” kind of mindset, and more specifically getting a bigger interest in the RPG games, something that amuses me a lot are the people in youtube comments trying to argue that the Koopalings aren’t Bowser’s children.

Like, don’t get me wrong, I know Miyamoto retconned their link to Bowser. But the funny thing is, even to this day, Nintendo themselves are still writing those kids as if they were related to Bowser !

Seriously :

- In New Super Mario Bros Wii and Wii U, the Koopalings are attacking the castle along with Junior/Bowser, thus putting them on the same level of importance as Bowser and his son. The ending cutscenes do the same thing, especially the one in Wii U that just screams “they’re a family”. Plus, all the Koopalings serve as world bosses, which was kinda Junior’s role in DS, yet again putting them on the same level.

- In New Bros U, they all have their own ship. The only character to have a ship with their face on it before had always been Bowser.

- As I’ve seen someone point out in a comment section, the Koopalings are different skins of Junior in Smash Ultimate, again putting them on the same level as Bowser’s son. They might also be skins of Junior in Mario Maker 2 but I’m not sure on this one.

- In New Bros 2, they’re using a giant clown car, which is implied to belong to Bowser as Bowser and Junior are the only ones with a recurring clown car and Junior’s is too small. I doubt Bowser would let just about anybody use his car.

- On top of that, each has their own clown car in Smash.

- You know that icon/logo of his head thing that Bowser has (the one we see in games like 64 when we die) ? Bowser Junior had had one for a while now and more recently each Koopaling were given one (I think you can see them at Nintendo World in Bowser’s castle ?).

- Since they were originally created as Bowser’s children, they’re the same type of Koopa as him, and that fact hadn’t been changed in recent years. Hell, outside of Ludwig in Mario World and the fights in Superstar Saga, the Koopalings are never shown to breath fire, yet in the remake of Superstar Saga, they chose to keep the fire breath (except for Ludwig ironically enough). They could’ve easily removed the fire breath to make them more similar to Boom Boom, especially since Boom Boom has recently been shown with spikes on his shell, but they chose to keep this ability. Granted their shell plastron is different from Boom Boom, but that’s another design change Nintendo could make to set them apart from Bowser (giving them the same shell as Boom Boom to make it seem like they’re the same species, instead of keeping them as “Royal Koopas”).

In short, the Koopalings’ design wasn’t changed after the retcon, making them, Bowser and Junior the only members of that specific type of Koopa, thus implying they might be related. It’s also not helped by them having magic (which only Magikoopas and Bowser have) + being high-ranked members of the army. They might also be the only minors in the army, which raises a few eyebrows as to how they got the job (why would Bowser hire a bunch of children/teenagers to put in charge of his army ? Granted some like Ludwig, Roy and Wendy might be adults by now but I can’t bring myself to see Lemmy and Larry as anything other than teenagers).

- Saw a video of the bosses in Paper Mario Color Splash, and the minions (paratroopas) address Ludwig as “your evilness”, which is pretty reminiscent to how Bowser is called by his army, most notably by Kamek (“you grouchiness”, stuff like this)

- Baby Bowser and Bowser Jr are referred to as “young master” by Kamek. In the RPGs, the Koopalings are sometimes called “master [name]” (and “mistress Wendy”) when talked to individually. Note that both this point and the previous one are for the English version tho, not the Japanese one (no idea how they’re called in Japan).

- There’s that one Super Mario Adventures comic made in the 90s that was apparently re-released a few years ago (something like 2017-2018 ?), aka well after Nintendo retconned the kids’ relationship with Bowser (around 2012). Yet, in this comic, at least in the English version, the Koopalings are explicitly said to be Bowser’s children, with him saying he wants to marry Peach so they can have a mom + the kids calling him dad. And I don’t think they changed this dialogue in the re-release ?

- Bowser Jr’s Journey. Just, Bowser Jr’s Journey. After seeing all the cutscenes of this game, it is a crime that those kids aren’t related ! Hell there’s literally a moment where Junior pulls out the “I’ll tell dad !” card on Roy ! And let’s not forget stuff like the interactions between Junior and most notably Ludwig/Morton/Roy, Junior saying “us Koopalings” at some point thus including himself amongst that group, or stuff like him singing “I’m the one who wears the crown” making it sound like he’s saying “I’m the one chosen amongst the eight of us”. Then there’s the “family drama” vibe in the first half, the cute moments etc (Also unpopular opinion but after seeing that game, Ludwig should still be the heir of the throne. He has what it takes to be a fantastic king ! Granted Junior is still extremely young and could learn and mature.)

- Also about Jr’s Journey, the main conflict actually works a lot better if you imagine the kids to be siblings, with the Koopalings talking down to Junior because he’s the baby of the family + they resent him for taking the throne from them, while Junior is tired of his siblings babying him + he’s that kind of kid who orders the older siblings around because he thinks he has the power to do so. Them being siblings also justifies why Junior changes his mind so easily during the beach scene and then is quickly shown to be strongly attached to the others (getting happy when Iggy gets his memories back, ordering Ludwig to stay with him from now on, that whole adorable scene with Morton etc).

Meanwhile, if you see the Koopalings as nothing more than high-ranked underlings, it’s weird why they would have such an issue with Junior, the son of their king who is also their boss, and likewise it’s weird why Junior would take such issue with them only to have such a quick change of heart. Idk, I feel like if they weren’t siblings they probably wouldn’t spend that much time together, making both their whole conflict and strong bond a bit weird. And in general their interactions in this game read more as people who are widely different and wouldn’t usually be friends yet still love each other, which is the kind of dynamic many siblings tend to have (isn’t there a poll going around about whether you’d be friends with your siblings if they weren’t your siblings, and the option winning is “we wouldn’t be friends” ?)

- According to their page on the Mario wiki, during an interview revealing them in Mario Kart 8, Miyamoto used a word that means either “underlings” or “adopted children” when mentioning their relationship to Bowser (btw I know it’s the most popular headcanon anyways but them being adoptive children is just perfect. It would explain why 1. Some might be young adults while Bowser is younger than 40 depending on how old you see him, 2. Why they look so widely different from Bowser and each other, 3. Why Junior is the rightful heir).

- Also according to the wiki, the Italian and German versions of Mario and Luigi Paper Jam has mentions of them being Bowser’s kids, which I find hilarious. The translation teams didn’t give a fuck !

So yeah, when it comes to the Koopalings not being Bowser’s kids : who’s gonna tell Nintendo ?

(Side note about the whole idea of “Bowser clearly likes Junior more and neglects his older kids” : what if instead it was just that the Koopalings are teenagers/young adults now so Bowser is giving them their space + have them busy with royal duties, hence why he doesn’t spend that much time with them ? Plus, in all the examples that put the Koopalings on the same level as Junior, it’s pretty evident that they have the same privileges)

okay, so here’s my Gamer Theory *youtuber voice*: so i’m firmly a believer that ralsei is 100% related to kris, more specifically kris’s anxieties of being the only human in their family and wanting to fit in as a monster. other people have theorized that ralsei may be the green crayon, or the red headband. i personally think the last one is more likely, but ultimately may be a redherring, (i can easily see the headband appearing later on, “disproving” the theory). but imo both elements are connected: i think ralsei is a drawing.

first the crayon labels that "have long faded" and the "old papers" in the supply closet may be connected. i'm mostly shooting in the dark here, because, you know, two chapters out of seven, but the buildings of castle town seems a bit paper-like to me, my impression is that these papers are from the time kris was a small kid. ralsei being kris’ old OC monstersona where they projected their desire to be just like the other members of their family. 

color-wise: the reason the green crayon is missing is because kris used all of it to color ralsei's clothes. the reason that ralsei has pink horns unlike the "red headband", has eyes with the same pink unlike kris' red eyes, and has a "red scarf" despite being another shade of pink may have been simply artistic liberty or there just wasn't a red crayon available for some reason. how many times as a kid one had to do with just the materials available? something like that

the long-theorized anagram name: so in another post i not-so-seriously-maybe said that when noelle "recognized" ralsei in the dark world she didn't recognize asriel or toriel or asgore but rather, ralsei the monster oc that kris used to draw as a kid. with the over-present running gag of the dreemurs being bad at naming stuff, how does kris come up with the name? by mixing up their brother's name on one of ice-e junior jumbles.

some random miscellaneous thoughts that i don't know how to expand but i think are worth mentioning: - this could "explain" kris supposed ambivalence towards ralsei in the game: if they at some point accepted that they never could be a monster/they would never fit with their family in the way they wished, looking at him may not bring the best memories, especially if ralsei is from a pre-certain traumatic incident.

- but why do ralsei and kris uses different pronouns? this is when an already off-the-rails theory goes off-the-rails and if i may speculate, maybe all of this was done before kris figured out their gender. i don't know if mr toby fox has any plans of exploring kris' transness furthermore in the story, but the transgenderizer blue dress already made an appearance in deltarune alongside ralsei, so anything is possible.

- even if the dark world version of ralsei's change at the end of chapter 1 can be explained with his magic hat or so, that difference can also be explained in the light world version: what does a kid do to a drawing if they are angry at the results, didn't like it, etc? they scribble all over it. hence chapter 1 ralsei.

- similarly, what is under all the robes and scarf in ralsei's defeated sprite? maybe eraser dust

- a lot of people draw college asriel wearing these round nerd glasses, probably with the assumption that ralsei represents their brother but based on the aforementioned theory that he is instead an idealized version of younger kris: i think "wears embarrassing glasses and ditches them once they become a teen" fits kris' attitude much more.

- ralsei's manual shows various drawings that he made of himself, presumably. just thought that was funny.

- is not a secret that UT and DR borrow heavily from the MOTHER series and so far i believe the dark worlds are inspired by magicant from the first two games. in the first game magicant being a little escapist paradise that the party can travel and end up being a fabricated world in someone else's memories, and in the second game being a fabricated reality in ness' inner mind. on this one, there's a little bit where a younger ness meets his older counterpart and seems a bit disappointed by how more serious he seems, and that he doesn't have any time to play anymore. the theme of "more cheerful idealized version of the protagonist meets an older counterpart who seems a bit more jaded than before" can be at play here.

-you know how kris knows to play the piano, and "my castle town" seems a more piano-based song than the rest of the ost? yeah

- the last thing and if all this rambling turns out to be true, that could mean that the whole dark fountains adventure started with a drawing, so. thematically, that may resonate with how (if we go by the prequel interpretation) the last remnant of the deltarune universe as seen in sans undertale lab is a poorly drawn picture, but this time of three smiling people, instead of just one kid who just wants to fit in.

Got any more tired dad duckula au headcanons?

This ask is like, years old by now and I doubt the person who asked is still waiting for an answer, (but, if you ARE reading this I am so sorry ) but I'm gonna use this as a jumping off point to share the headcanons I've been concocting

So, headcanon time!

But first, a changed headcanon! I've decided that Duckula and Goosewing are actually Violet and Lena's (great) uncles in this Au! ^-^ Because I realized I really liked the idea of Goosewing having more family that doesn't disown him for marrying a vampire.

So one of Violet's dads is Goosewing's nephew! I haven't figured out which one yet, but it's a win-win for me, the whole Duckula/Goosewing family gets more people who love and appreciate them, and I get two more underdeveloped characters to sink my grubby little paws into! ^-^

Now for new headcanons!

-Goosewing and Junior play chess together on the regular, whether either of them are any good or not is entirely up to you, it just makes them feel smart(I like to think they make up their own rules on the fly)

-Lena and Duckula first bonded over having family members who would much prefer them to be evil and/or dead

-Related to that, Igor has chilled out considerably since the series and Junior was born, Duckula thinks it's because Junior IS interested in villainry, or maybe that Igor's just biding his time until Duckula dies and can be reincarnated again.

-The real reason is that, well, it's so much more LIVELY when the whole family's around, not that he'd EVER admit to enjoying something like that, of course

-Lena calls Duckula her second favorite uncle

-She calls Uncle Donald her first favorite uncle, mostly to mess with Duckula

Duckula: But-but- he's not your. . .?

Lena: Uncle Donald's like, everyone's favorite uncle, you can't fight it. You'll understand once you meet him.

-He didn't pick up on the fact that she was messing with him, but either way, he DOES understand when he finally meets Donald.

-Goosewing tends to stick to a couple more common endearments, albeit a couple from three different languages (German, Romanian, and English), that he translates willy nilly

-(I am not at all sure about the non-English endearments, and I couldn't really find any Romanian ones, at least not ones I was sure were used for family members. So if anyone who actually speaks either of those languages want to give me some tips, go for it)

-Junior gets bored with Danger Mouse not too long after DM discovered he was a teenager, because while it's amusing to try and get DM fired for assaulting a minor, it won't really make him FAMOUS.(He actually realizes that it might make DM MORE famous, which is the opposite of what he wants) So he sneaks the castle off to Duckburg while everyone else is asleep to try and find some new ideas

-Junior meets PK and immediately decides he wants to be a superhero.("Superheroes are always like, SUPER popular right?" He hasn't thought this through very much. This is why you never make decisions at 3 in the morning) So he starts following him around calling himself his sidekick

-PK is. . . extremely concerned by this.

PK: You're like. . . 13? Where are your parents?

Junior: I'm 15! Why does everyone-! GAH! Whatever! ANYway, my parents are asleep, DOI, where ELSE would they be, out clubbing?

-This answer, while true, certainly doesn't make PK LESS worried, he starts assuming Junior's an orphan or something, and decides to keep him from getting himself killed playing hero

-(On that note, there's definitely an Au of this Au where Junior IS a reincarnation of 80s!Duckula, gets separated from the castle somehow, and gets adopted by Donald. Because that would be both hilarious and adorable)

-Eventually someone notices Castle Duckula showing up on the outskirts of Duckburg and Danger Mouse shows up. Not really sure how that goes down yet, but there are definitely hijinks involved

HAYAO MIYAZAKI

"I believe that fantasy in the meaning of imagination is very important. We shouldn't stick too close to everyday reality but give room to the reality of the heart, of the mind, and of the imagination." -Hayao Miyazaki Hayao Miyazaki was born on January 5, 1941. His father was the director of Miyazaki Airplane, which manufactured rudder for fighter planes during world way 2. Miyazaki had the misfortune of growing up during the second world war, and would recount memories of bombed out cities at the small age of four. Miyazaki's family evacuated to Kanuma, after their early city of refuge, Utsunomiya was bombed. Miyazaki was diagnosed with severe stomach issues at a young age, and it was estimated he would not live over his 20's. However, he pushed through. Miyazaki began school in 1947, and went to multiple elementary schools. He would attend Omiya Junior Highschool. Miyazaki had developed an interest in art at a young age, and would constantly draw planes, tanks and battleships, which were sadly an impactful part of his childhood. The influence war had on Miyazaki's stories is evident from his movies such as Grave of the Fireflies, Nuasicaa and Porco Rosso, these films would reflect Miyazaki's dislike for militarism. Miyazaki was influenced by several manga artists, such as Osama Tezuka and Tetsuji Fukushima. Miyazaki would also go to see movies with his father, who was an avid moviegoer. Miyazaki would go on to attend Toyotama Highschool. It was around this time Miyazaki became interested in aniated films, after watching Panda and the Magic Serpent in 1958, which h stated moved him to tears. During the years, he became interested in drawing manga and, although he would not write any stories, would complete thousands of pages worth of drawings. Miyazaki majored in economics and political science at Gakushuin University, graduating in 1963. However, his heart still belonged to the world of art. He pursued his interest in comic books as a member of the university's children's literature club.

In April 1963, Miyazaki became an animator for Toei Animation. He found the work enjoyable and learned to properly draw characters, while earlier, his main interests were in props and landscapes. He impressed many of his coworkers with his detailed animation and proposed numerous story ideas to the studio. He would quickly become a front runner in the animator's union. He played a major role in the creation of the movie Prince of the Sun, in 1968 , the same year he would marry another animator, Akemi Ota.

After joining multiple animation studios since then, Miyazaki would establish himself as an outstanding background artist. He worked on both animated features and graphic novels during this time. In the 1980's, he began one of his most popular manga series, based on the character Nausicaa. In 1982, the Takuma production company approached Miyazaki with the idea of making Nausicaa into an animated feature. The film was released in 1984. Out of it's success, Tokuma created studio Ghibli, with Miyazaki as the co-founder, who would pronounce it "Jee-blee". Studio Ghibli would go onto give birth to some of the most influential animated movies of all time such as My neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery service, Howl's Moving castle, and ofcourse, Spirited Away, which would go on to win an Oscar, all directed and worked on by Hayao Miyazaki. As of now, Miyazaki has been a part of the art industry for nearly five decades, with his most recent film being The Wind Rises, in 2013. Now aged 82,he has attained international acclaim and is widely regarded as one of if not the greatest filmmakers in the history of animation.

864: Michael Campion - Coming Into His Own

In our second installment in this “Month of Boo'“ on The Magic Word Podcast, we feature a “family friendly” entertainer, Michael Campion. He is a young “heart throb” for adolescents who watched the five year series “Fuller House” online where he starred as the character, Jackson. It has been six years since we last visited with Michael when he was then just 16. Today his interest in magic has come to the forefront and he is currently performing on weekends in a one-man show at Beetle House in Los Angeles called, “Haunted Mystery Show of Magic.” The reason we revisited with this young man is to discover his journey from a family entertainer to a magician who is now featuring a seance as part of his show. Michael is not the first actor in Hollywood to have a love of magic and performing and balance it with his acting career. Another one who comes to mind is Steve Valentine.

Many who listen to this episode are much older than our guest this week. But there is a lot to learn from as Michael Campion shares his insights and journey to write, develop, find a venue, and market his one-man show. It shows his determination and will hopefully inspire other listeners to follow their dreams to produce their own shows.

When the young prince finds friends with some of the newcomers it all seemed fine. Until they get older and the prince has taken a liking to one of his friends. The looming question of why the town was attacked, who the parents are of the Guard, and the world at large threaten to either tear the friends apart or make them bonded together foerever - most developed vv gay

Fly Away - Magical war set in current times, teenagers/young adults got stuck with the curse/chosen-ness cause the last generation didn't fix the curse or reset it right. Started back when I was 13 and has a self insert lololol

Listen to the Band - two juniors find themselves unexpected friends. Paul, one of the drum majors of their highschool marching band and Tyler the older brother of a trumpet player in the band. As the two learn they have more in common than they think their personal and school lives only get tougher as they get older (HAVENNNTTT fully decided to commit to the gay on this one, v fraught around Ty's fam and some drug use)

School Psychics - Alex, an empath who sees peoples emotions as auras around them, creates a school club for other psychic kids in school. Anne - telekinetic, Caleb - postcognition/seeing the past, and Ron - precognition/seeing the future, all fit the bill but Brent is mystified as to what this all means. As they learn to control, accept, and support each of their powers and their friends, they start to realize they aren't alone in the world, for better or for worse

The Science of Love - Weird gay oneshot that got away from me. Tony, a delivery boy... man? loll and a college student has noticed a man using the subway at the same time as him all week. They have a drunken one night stand and Phill (subway man) has a broken ankle from a fall the night before. After a friend picks Phill up at the ER they go to Tony doesn't think he'll ever see him again, till he delivers some medical equipment to a lab in town and runs straight into Phill. Overall they're a terrible couple and I over developed Tony's story rather than Phill's. If I ever do write it, it'll be more of a TONY'S ESCAPADES IN LOVE than the original idea

NOW WE'VE ARRIVED IN COLLEGE ERA/TEGAKI ERA (not that some of those weren't developed more in college at the same time)

WEIRD ALIENS IDK! - This never had a name and if it did it might have been Adrian's Harem OTL. Started as a vague backstory for an alien boy OC who was WOOING a friends OC -cough @ryngtail cough- Adrian is the future ruler of loll... idk the planet??? and he was given a ""harem"" but more just a group of ppl around him that would BE FINE TO COURT IF YOU ARE GONNA PICK A SPOUSE. Adrian, terrified by the pressure steals a ship and runs to earth. The story, if told today, would focus much less on Adrian and more on the effects on the Harem as multiple of them fall in love w each other ROFL two of my favs being Jazz and Charlie

AYRES ACADEMY - Tegaki drawing/rp group for a supernatural/magical all boys school. You were "allowed" 3 characters (3 students/2 students 1 teacher/1 student 2 teachers/3 teachers) BUT ME BEING ME, overdeveloped all their stories and threw in so many family members and friends and storylines

Jay - Dragon, yes legit a dragon. His father was the pack leader of a mountain pack but was violent and ruthless. When Jay's mother hid them from his father, she was murdered for it. Jay wasn't found, was raised by a dragon who felt indebted to his mother. But when he his teenage years he started experimenting with his magic and learned to shapeshift into a human form. The banished dragon who lived with the humans at the base of the mountain happens upon him and manipulates Jay into a ""relationship"" (vvv statutory and abusive). This dragon convinces Jay that all dragons are violent and evil and need to behave more like humans. The town healer and her granddaughter use dragon scales in many things and get them from the shitty dragon and now Jay. Through their care and friendship he realizes the other Dragon is shitty and tries to leave. However his father realized that Jay is in the human town with the shitty dragon. He sends another dragon down to get Jay back and murder the shitty dragon. Shits mcgoo fights the assasin and is mortally wounded, Jay finishes off the assasin. The grief and trauma of losing shitty dragon and the rage at his father send him into a murderous rampage up the mountain, till he gets to his father and kills him too. With the father's dying breath he says he's so proud Jay is strong and just like him. This finally wakes Jay from his grief rage and he goes back down the mountain to the healer and granddaughter. He runs to europe to go to university and pretend to be a human. But his unwarranted guilt and grief are a constant companion. -college antics cut for brevity- After graduating he headed to Ayres Academy to be his first job as a school councelor and the psych teacher. THIS WENT POORLY LLLOL and i've apologized to everyone whose character he ""counseled"" we were all oddball teens tho and they graciously forgave me lolol. At Ayres he met Lorcan, the school chef and MYSTERY SHARK MAN and they hit it off. Lorcan is prone to disappearing for months on end and Jay has literal and mental scars from him last relationship and it's rocky. We left off w Jay finally telling Lor about his past and Lor taking it with SOME SHOCK LOL. The endgoal, in my head, is that their married, in a wonderful condo w their mildly adopted son (the step son of the healer's granddaughter)

Milo - ELF BOOOIII (started as a FOKKEN CENTAUR JFC) idk his story, he's a good elf, left the elf town, is a teachers aid/parapro, HE HAS MANY FRECKLES IS TOLL AND LOVES THE MATH TEACHER TRE!!!

Emmet - Step son of Katy and ""nephew"" of Jay (Katy is the granddaugther from Jay's story) Dad has cancer cause I hate myself :CCC Emmet meets Rai during the many visits to the hospital w his dad. Emmet doesn't have magical powers but Rai is from a long line of sorcerrers. He goes to Ayres while his mom is struggling to cope w the prolonged death of the father and her newborn twins. (This is where Jay and Lorcan psuedo adopt him loolol) Rai ends up enrolling. Little sister of Tre, Charlie, would be roped into their friendship and they would GO ON MANY MISADVENTURES

Silas - teeeechnically an old flame/college boyfriend of Jay's. But their relationship now is SASSY BROTHERS. A dragon from a pack in ROUGHLY New Mexico. His great uncle knew Jay's mother and acts like a father to both Jay and Silas. He and Jay are very bonded w the kids of the pack and help them learn to handle their powers

Kai and Real - jfc omf i'm ... this... okay Kai and Real are TECHNICALLY A COMET AND A START RESPECTIVELY. (Spoiler loll turns out they're symbiotic aliens that attach to the celestial beings and do it so young they almost never remember - magic powers, GLOWING, empathic abilities, flying) they've been raised as brothers and Kai ""orbits"" Real

Kai is a fantabulous comet, and takes a super femme boy appearance, loves dancing, and his BF Kyo the werewolf (rofl look)

Real is a star and slated to be the next wishing star for earth (idfk man i was 16 when I first made him) he has great power and is wonderful with magic. However when he has his first heartbreak at the school, he finds himself overwhelmed by his own power and ... gets sick... for brevity lolol. As he tries to tell his adoptive father somethings wrong with him, he is increasingly brushed off. As his school life and love life continue to be stressful at best, he has another episode and now fears he's too unstable to be the wishing star. Terrified of what this means, as it was his only goal in life to become a wishing star, he's lost and unmoored.

HAD it gone to plan, Real would have been put through a confusing hell of not being able to use his powers without hurting himself and everyone around him being confused and unable to help. Millenia down the line, Kai a fully grown "adult" would be part of a group of time keepers. As far as I remember, he begins being sent to the past, almost cruelly to run into Kyo (who would have died again, millenia ago) about the same time as they finally figured out that Real connected with his star at a little too old to fully grow with his star's power and that's why he's been so overwhelmed and sick. It never had a truly satisfying ending, with future Kai, unable to watch himself and Real go through the horror again, telling present Kai/Real what's wrong and then having Kyo hold him as he ceased to exist. And the only real answer for Real's dillema is to live on earth as a human, completely cut off from his life and ideas for what they should have been.

the only bright spot in all of it is Raein <333 (@netlexia's) who, HILARIOUSLY AFTER THE GROUP DIED OFF, became Real's soulmate

Medieval AU - Made for Raein and Real, includes all my ayres characters and some friends ocs. Raein has been possesed by a demon after it killed all of Raein's friends, fearful of letting the demon harm others he turns into a hermit, but happens upon Real, a young man with some sword training who has been cursed to cry when he fights. Real has been separated from his magic tudor, Jay and has been searching for him. He stays with Raein to take a rest and begins to fall for him. A month passes and fall begins to set in, when Raein's possesion worsens and while being attacked Real seems to erupt with magic. They agree to head out to a city known for it's magic to help themselves and have the STRANGEST ROADTRIP OF THEIR LIVES.

SIDEPLOT Cien (@netlexia's again lol) is a young king in the magic town, Jay has been attacked and is being treated and healing in the castle after saving the Knight's Captain. However, when Cien comes to see Jay, Jay mistakes him for the Captain and not the king. HIJINKS ENSUE. Endgoal was Jay Cien, but now we've got Silas to factor in so idk lol

COLLEGE AU - Again for Raein and Real. Real is in the law track, Raein is in the computer sciences track. They meet while Raein is barista-ing? loll at the in school coffee shop (two AUs one stone) they study together and quickly begin to become attracted. They date, is good. 10/10 soft and nice

Merm AU - Made more by Net than me but overembellished on my end rofl. Raeins a merm, Reals a human (turns out to be half merm half human or a "sea witch" in the world of the story)

Storm Chasers AU - Jay, a college student taking an internship w burnt out weatherman Cien, chase storms to report on them for news stations. Making my way up the palace steps, I took notice of the lack of angels tending the gardens or palace. Oh well, I thought to myself. It is still too early for any of them to get to work. Michael led me through the castle towards the throne room. It was the same route we took on my first day here, only this time, I had a sneaking suspicion that it was about to be my last. Stopping in front of the door, Michael announced our presence and waited for the angels inside to open the doors for us. I’ve been in the throne room a small handful of times since my first day. Today, however, the atmosphere felt a little off. Normally, one would feel a sense of dread walking into this room, as it usually meant punishment. All ceremonies took place in the garden, the throne room being deemed as an unofficial courtroom. Today the atmosphere felt almost, denser than usual. Michael and I made our way towards the throne and kneeled before Father.

“Rise”

Both of us responded with a “Thank you Father” as we stood. God turned to face me.

“I apologize for calling for you this late. I do hope I didn’t wake you.”

“Not to worry Father, I was actually up finishing this week's work when Michael came to get me. If I may ask, why did you want to see me?”

“I called you to make an offer. I have observed how you ran the council this past millennium. I’ve seen your leadership and your dedication to your job. I’d like to offer you a permanent spot on the council.”

“Father, I’m sure-”

“I’m well aware of our initial deal. Bear in mind that this will not impede on your ability to see the Sins again. As head of the council, it will be your job to oversee business in the Devildom as Michael had been while you were here. You will be able to travel between the realms for business and visit the brothers while you’re there.”

“But I’d have to return and continue serving you, won’t I?”

“That is correct. You are a unique individual Y/N. You are a human with the blood of a fallen, you accepted the demons and was still elevated to the Celestial realm. As such, you have experience from all three realms. This is a powerful tool to have.”

“For you. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I am not interested in staying, nor am I interested in allowing you access to this “tool” as you so crudely labelled my experience. I made it abundantly clear that I serve you under the condition that I return once Lord Diavolo has been crowned. As the Father of the Celestials, I expect that your promises would be kept. Unless that is your telling me I’d have more luck trusting a demon if I wanted promises kept?”

“Y/N! While you’re here, you still serve Father. You cannot speak to him like that!”

“I’m not wrong though am I? If that is all, I’d like to get some rest before reporting in. Good evening, or should I say morning?” I didn’t wait for a response as I bowed to Father and walked out of the throne room without so much of a glance back.

“I apologize Father. I will see that they don’t speak that way to you again.”

“That’s quite alright Michael.”

“Father?”

“I find it to be one of their more enduring qualities. They don’t take anything from anyone, regardless of their position. It’s a valuable trait to have, if used correctly.”

“Father, you weren’t really going to cement their position as the leader of the council, were you?”

“No, I knew they wouldn’t have agreed anyway. I wanted to test them. By offering the position permanently, they would have gained an abundance of power and authority.”

“Instead they turned it down to be with Samael and his brothers. I still don’t understand what they see in them.”

“It would be wise to re-think your opinion on Lucifer and his family. Contrary to what you think, they haven’t changed much. If you looked at it from an outsider's perspective, perhaps you’ll find that they’re still very much angelic.”

“Are you seriously telling me that with a straight face? I appreciate your suggestion Father, however, I highly doubt my opinion on them could change.”

“I am not telling you to change your thoughts about them overnight.” Standing up God stepped down and put a firm hand on Michael’s shoulder.

“I’m just reminding you that Pride is a sin.” God exited the throne room towards his personal chambers leaving a perplexed Michael standing in the throne room.

“I’m not prideful.” Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew he was wrong.

~3 Months Later~

“That is all for today. Does anyone else have anything that needs to be brought to attention before we leave?” I looked around the council table and took note of Azrael's continued absence. The angel of death was called for a quick meeting with God before the start of this meeting and had yet to return.

“Alright then. This meeting is adjourned. If anyone has anything they’d like to drop off, I’ll be working by the fountain." The council of 7 stood and started chatting amongst themselves as I packed up and left. A few weeks into leading the council, I found that much like the Devildom, I couldn’t find much peace anywhere indoors. As such, I turned to the gardens, in particular, the stone fountain. It reminded me of the one in my old village square back on earth and found a sense of peace here. I’m guessing the other angels got the hint of me needing some peace and quiet to complete my work as I’ve never been disturbed while I worked here. Anywhere else though, and it’s anyone’s game.

About halfway through my work, I decided it was a good time to take a break and get something to eat. Making my way to the makeshift kitchen area in the council building, I passed by Azrael and Michael conversing with each other. We exchanged some polite hello’s when something Azrael said caught my attention.

“I apologize for not making the meeting. There was an issue with a soul’s candle that was fluctuating that I had to deal with.”

“Fluctuating? I was under the impression that a soul’s candle can only slowly burn until the soul’s time runs out and the candle burns out or someone snuffs them out. How can a candle fluctuate?”

“It’s more like the candle was shifting, evolving. The flame itself is fine but the stick itself was changing. You see, the flame is just that, a flame that will never burn out until its designated time, or if as you put it, someone snuffs it out. It’s the stick that holds most of the magic. The type of wax used identifies the soul, its nature, and where it’s destined. Only angels of death, or reapers, can tamper with the stick and alter it, however, it seems this stick is changing itself without outside interference from myself or another reaper.”

“The stick is evolving on its own and this is a cause for concern because this type of thing shouldn’t be possible and has never happened before?”

“Essentially.”

“What did you do about it?”

“For now, nothing. We’ve tried manually altering it ourselves but it keeps rejecting the change. I have a junior reaper watching it now. He’ll update me if anything changes. That is all I can tell you for now.”

“That understandable, thank you for sharing anyway. Good luck with the candle.” At that, my stomach rumbled.

“Go enjoy your lunch” Azrael replied, walking away with Michael.

“Why did you tell them all of that?” Michael demanded of Azrael.

“They have a right to know. Besides nothing would be gained by hiding it from them. It’s best they are aware of the situation.”

“That’s not your call to make Az.” Michael responded angrily as he stopped. Azrael turned to face him, a calm mask slipped on.

“Yes, it is Michael. It’s my call as the leader of the reapers and the overseer of their candle. What isn’t right is how you keep insisting that they be left in the dark, blissfully ignorant. Despite what you may think, they are a bright soul and have brought much light with them, even to the brothers. I understand why you feel about them the way you do, but times have changed. They have changed, and so have the rest of us. Everyone but you. It’s time you change too before you do something you’ll regret.” With that, Azrael left, leaving Michael standing there thinking about what the reaper had said and thought back to what their Father had said 3 months ago. Threading his fingers in his hair, he made his way to his office, hoping to distract himself from these thoughts with some extra work.

~7 Years later~

“Y/N'' I woke up realizing that I fell asleep at my desk again. Looking up, I saw Uriel looking down at me. His hand on my right shoulder shaking me awake.

“Father would like to see you. Go get dressed please. I’ll be waiting outside.” Uriel left, closing the door behind him. I leaned back thinking about why God would want to see me, especially this early in the morning.

Not wanting to Uriel waiting for too long, I tidied up the papers at my desk, and sleepily made my way to the bathroom to take a quick shower and get ready. Once I finished, Uriel and I set out except this time, instead of heading to the palace, we headed for the gates.

When we arrived, I found that the rest of the council including Azreal and Simeon were already there and waiting for us. We landed and bowed our respects towards Father. Uriel joined the council in a semi-circle behind God.

“Y/N, as I’m sure you realized, the time has come for you to return to the Devildom. I offer you one last chance to stay here. You should know that once an angel falls, they’re not allowed back. Y/N, if you through with this, you will be cast out from the Celestial realm. Are you ready to make that sacrifice?” Looking to the council standing behind God. I recalled the past millennia I spent with them. While I tried to keep a professional relationship with them, they ended up growing on me and we became a little family of our own. I realized that I was going to end up missing them. None of that matters though, not anymore. I’m finally going home, to my real family. To the brothers. Ignoring God, I addressed the angels gathered behind him.

“Thank you, all of you. Despite our differences, you all still accepted me and let me into this little family of yours. I’ll be sure to remember all you’ve done for me and I hope we could meet again someday. Oh and Mike.” Michael looked at me, surprised that I singled him out. “You don’t belong down there. Don’t forget that.” I turned back to God giving him my answer.

“Yes, I am willing.” Giving me a nod of affirmation, God addressed me for the last time.

“Y/N, Virtue of Loyalty and former leader of the virtues.  I hereby strip you of your angelic status and cast you out into the Devildom for the sin of misplaced loyalty.” I faced the edge, ready to jump when I realized I had forgotten something. Turning around, I looked God straight in the eyes and threw the strongest right hook I had ever thrown in my life before jumping backwards, tucking in my wings and closing my eyes. A content sigh leaving my lips as I let the darkness engulf me whole.

Emilie and Amelie are twin cat demons (not like the panther demons, there more equivalent to how the dog demons are to wolf demons in comparison to the panthers). But Emilie met a human prince and fell in love (Amelie thinks this is foolish but let’s her do whatever, she already has her own demon child to care for and doesn’t have time to be running after her sister).

The half demon offspring of Emilie and Prince Gabriel is of course Adrien, Amelie’s full demon child is Felix. Felix doesn’t really care about Adrien or whatever his Aunt did with a human. He does become interested however when his aunt takes the twin rings and gives them to her halfbreed child! I think the rings will turn into crazy powerful magic swords in this version. Emilie and Amelie are both daiyōkai warlords with control over huge areas of land. With Emilie’s death the claim to the land goes to her sister and she gives it to her son.

Gabriel raises Adrien for a bit in isolation (he won’t loose another member of his family and his only reminder of Emilie, also to keep him away from the prejudice against hanyō). He becomes a sort of mysterious figure in the palace. People know lord Gabriel has a child but no one is ever allowed to see him (they say he is too frail). Gabriel eventually dies and people see Adrien for the first time. He’s easily identified as a demon with his cat ears, cat eyes, and claws. He’s chaises from the castle and blamed for any problems the castle had as well as his father’s death.

He is physically around 4 years old when Gabriel passes (about 40 years after his birth) (doing the math with the numbers given to us Inuyasha ages at about a 1 year to every 10). He is beat down a bit but manages to keep his attitude of most people are good and have reasons to do what they do. He gets pretty decent at playing either human or demon to avoid conflict. Eventually he makes it to a village where he meets a miko named Bridgette.

Marinette is just starting her final year in junior high (lower secondary school). On her way there she passes an old boarded up well near the road at the edge of a forest. The sound of a cat scratching and yowling from inside the well gets her to go over and try to help. She sees the old seals plastered on top of the well but the yelling cat gets her to loosen one of the boards. As soon as the board comes loose the phantom arms shoot out of the well and grab her (a black cat jumps out and streaks off as soon as the space is wide enough) and drag her through the portal.

I assume she still meets mistress centipede and unseals Adrien from the tree, shatters the Shikon jewel, and needs to go on the journey to gather all the pieces again.

Alya is a demon slayer, Ella and Etta get taken by the Naraku equivalent.

Nino is the traveling monk.

Chloé is a wasp demon that begrudgingly gets closer to them overtime (Sabrina is her Jaken) (is this based off of pre-miracle queen headcanons, fucking maybe)

Luka gets to be one of the higher ups of the panther demon tribe. (If we want to keep the Koga parallel kitty section could be the other members and their cat forms could look a bit like their masks, if not we could stick with corresponding animals and make him a snake demon that’s partially in charge of a group of several other demons (tiger!Juleka, pig!Rose, ox!Ivan, mouse!Mylène)

Hogwarts!AU: Kim Namjoon - Gryffindor!

Kim Namjoon counted the days to his eleventh birthday, just so he can finally receive his hogwarts letter the second it arrived.

His father, a muggle lawyer, and his mum, a pureblooded Slytherin and a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic, always held the highest esteem for education. Naturally, Namjoon grew up to be knowledgable in both worlds.

As a kid, he was always so proud of the books his family owned. There were magical books on one side, some that moved on its own (one was even chained because it kept growling), and also muggle books on the other.

His excitement for Hogwarts is mainly based on the gigantic library he had only ever heard about.

Like this kid was the only one who was actually excited to study.

He's a big fan of the Minister of Magic - Hermione Granger - and wholeheartedly supported her campaigns for equal rights for all magical creatures.

In his first year, Namjoon was so astounded by the beauty of the Hogwarts castle that he leaned a little too far from the boat and fell to the lake.

Hagrid had to drag him out of the lake and back on his boat after Jung Hoseok screamed in horror.

McGonagall did a quick drying spell when he finally stepped into the castle just so he wouldn't embarrass himself during sorting.

But then he was sorted to Gryffindor, and people were confused. But when they finally got to know him, they finally understood why.

Rumors about his mum being the direct advisor of Hermione Granger and Harry Potter didn't go unnoticed, so the crowd had suspected him to be sorted into Ravenclaw.

He thought he was an obvious Ravenclaw, himself.

Jung Hoeeok, who he made friends with on the train, was sorted to Ravenclaw and Namjoon was already smiling ear-to-ear because he was so certain they were going to be sorted together.

Madam Hooch always had one eye out for him during flying classes. He's so clumsy that Madam Hooch made him fly no higher than three meters high, because no, she shall not risk a kid's death in her class. The broom just wouldn't listen to him!

Kim Namjoon's perception on justice and his knowledgeable traits made the Sorting Hat mumble to itself for five minutes straight, arguing for and against Ravenclaw and Gryffindor before eventually yelling Gryffindor in the proudest way possible.

He excelled in all his classes (all but flying) - it was a no-brainer to him. Namjoon could theoretically perfect every spell and charm to exist. That is, if he doesn't break his wand or accidentally slipped while performing a spell and thus ruining his magic coordination.

Namjoon kind of envies natural Jung Hoseok, who Madam Hooch was keen on recommending to the Ravenclaw quidditch captain effective immediately after the first flying class.

But soon he became Hoseok's number #1 supporter, and later added more names on his supporting board (namely Jimin, Taehyung, and Jeon Jungkook).

Is in the chess club and debate club since first year.

Got into rap music in second year when Hoseok brought an MP3 player to the train and showed some music to the group.

When Hoseok found out that MP3 players don't work in Hogwarts, Namjoon made an alternative that works under magic, instead.

He could've sworn Hoseok shed a tear.

"...Thanks, mate."

Kim Namjoon, who thinks that Hagrid's hut is the most comfortable place ever, loved dragging Jung Hoseok and Kim Seokjin down to the hut (sometimes Min Yoongi as well if he actually caught him out of bed), to have a cup of hot chocolate and listen to Hagrid's many tales of Hogwarts' students.

"You're welcome."

Later on, he dragged his juniors, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook as well, and the hut became their studious escape.

His Hagrid's hut trips may or may not include curious questions about Hermione Granger and her two friends (yes, he knew of Harry Potter, but couldn't care less about him. Hermione was his star) and their adventures in Hogwarts.

He also loves befriending the magical creatures that Hagrid introduced him to, and is later on able to excel his Care on Magical Creatures subject without opening the monstrous book (although his mum had one at home and had made a non-monstrous copy).

All his peers respected him for: first, his extremely good grades; second, his unrivalled arguments on most values and campaigns that he promoted to his peers (and many students supported his campaigns because of his many speeches); and third, his membership as one of the notorious six at that time and later on seven that kind of ruled Hogwarts (also, maybe his good looks helped).

Also, by third year, he had broken three different wands.

By third year, Kim Namjoon had an unwavering leader charisma.
