“Have you ever considered a less...um, violent job?” she asks, nausea coiling in her guts at the mere thought of harming— let alone killing an innocent animal.  
The inky sky has turned into an even gloomier hue, and if it wasn’t for the luster of the moonlight illuminating their journey, they wouldn’t be able to see a thing. However, it’s still a challenge for them (her) to evade the thick roots hiding underneath the spongy moss and brittle lichen— she thinks her fingers aren’t enough to count the times Rafe has had to prevent her from toppling over onto the soil with a steadying grip on her arm.  
At this point, she can’t comprehend how he even knows where they’re going. She thinks that every rock and tree trunk they pass resembles the last but apparently, he’s using them to track the route to his cabin— something he tried to teach her about two hours ago, but gave up the moment her attention was captured by a tiny squirrel hurriedly scampering off into its hiding spot.   
“If I’m bein’ honest, I think killin’ is the only thing m’good for at this point,” he murmurs while inspecting a fallen spruce in the middle of their path. 
“I’m sure that’s not true,” she argues, rounding the obstacle while he simply steps over it.   
“Tha’s cause you don’t know me. Listen, m’not…m’not a good person, I’ve done some, uh, real shitty things, alright?” he looks over to her, gemstone eyes sullen.   
She wonders if the real shitty things include other people’s blood on his hands. After all, the queen wouldn’t have asked him to end her life if he’d never done it before. A shiver creeps up her spine when a vivid image of him doing something so remorseless flashes in her mind.  
However, it’s soon replaced by him dropping the knife and sparing her life, even if it meant complicating his own.   
“I think…a bad person wouldn’t be helping me right now,” her words are honest but he doesn’t offer her a reply, merely flits his eyes over her frame with a furrow in his brow.   
They fall into a serene silence, wordlessly treading further and further into the somber forest while she keeps getting distracted by the glittering stars above them; mesmerized by the beauty of something so far away from all the cruelty on this planet.   
However, when she goes on to take her next step, the ground (or what she thought was the ground) suddenly cracks underneath her, the partly frozen lid of the pond shattering with a loud crackle— only a surprised squeal leaving her throat when she loses her footing and tumbles right into the frigid water with a splash.   
Turns out, it’s not just some small little puddle that’s partly covered by fallen leaves and branches, but a rather deep one; saturating her all the way up to her neck as she gasps for breath when the coldness surrounds her helpless limbs.  
“Shit.”   
She hears Rafe hiss before humored laughter bubbles from his chest.  
“Rafe, this is not funny,” she complains with her teeth chattering when the icy liquid soaks through the fabric of her dress in an instant.   
“M’sorry, you jus’ look like a wet kitten right now,” he shakes his head, chuckling as he extends an arm towards her— pulling her up and steadying her with a firm grip on her waist.  
“Ow,” she cries out when she leans her weight on her left foot.   
“What’s wrong?” he seems almost concerned as he scans her for any visible injuries.   
“Think I sprained my ankle, it hurts,” she frowns, reaching for his forearm for balance.   
“Of course you did, told you to be careful,” he clicks his tongue, slightly annoyed at the fact that she really is a helpless case. “Can you walk?”   
“I don’t know…” she mumbles; face crumpling up when she tries to take a step forward.   
“Right, uh, c’mere then,” he huffs out before his hands are on her waist once more and he’s lifting her into his arms like a bag of flour.   
“Oh, you don’t have to—”   
“There’s no way you’re walkin’ right now,” he scoffs as he shifts her into a better position before he’s continuing their trek. “What would you even do without me, hm?”   
“Probably freeze to death like you said,” she pouts, eyes despondent when she leans into his supportive hold.  
“Yeah.”   
“M’sorry,” she sniffles, the ache in her foot combined with him being mad at her causing her eyes to burn.  
“Shouldn’t be that long ’till we’re there, princess. Think you can manage not to cry before we get there?” 
“I don’t know…it hurts and m’cold,” she sulks, feeling miserable, even if she knows she should be grateful she’s not dead or alone in the woods right now.   
“You’re a big girl, know you can take it. You’ll feel better soon, yeah?” he attempts to provide her some sort of comfort with his limited knowledge of handling something so fragile.   
She hums out something incoherent in response, weak arms wrapping around his neck as she takes in a shaky inhale— damp skin prickling under the chilly air that’s making the leafy trees sway back and forth, reminding her of shadowy ghosts.

“Uh, think there should be a dry shirt for you here somewhere…” he trails off as he goes through his closet. “This is probably a little too big but should be fine, yeah?”   
The cabin is small and secluded; the darkened walls blending in with the rest of the forest and concealing them from the outside, making her feel strangely secure. However, his taste in decor makes her rather uneasy as she tries to desperately focus on the crackling fireplace beginning to warm up her trembling limbs and not the assortment of dead animals and their fur or other body parts on display.   
“Oh, it’s perfect, thank you,” she tears her eyes from the elk antlers presented on the wall, offering him a tense smile when she takes the cottony shirt from him; the material surprisingly soft between her fingertips. 
However, before he has the chance to leave the bedroom in order to give her some privacy, she timidly speaks up again, words clumsy and hurried. “Could you— um, could you help me undress? This corset is quite impossible to take off by myself…especially now that it’s wet.”  
“Uh, right, yeah,” he clears his throat, gesturing for her to turn around before he’s pulling her closer by a grip on her hips, the wooden floorboards creaking underneath their feet making up for the sudden silence.  
She doesn’t know why the gesture feels almost intimate or why it makes her hold her breath when he begins to unfasten the strings holding the corset top together, but a strange shade of suspense colors the air around them nonetheless. 
“A tight little thing, huh?” he rasps as his fingers deftly work on the satiny ribbons— a process that feels eternal while she tries not to pay any mind to the way her heart keeps thumping louder and louder by each passing second. 
When she finally feels the silky material loosening around her middle, she has to will her erratic breathing to slow down as he unhooks the rest of the dress— the fabric forming a pearly white puddle on the floor.  
Then, he’s wordlessly slipping his shirt over her head; the sleeves far too long and the hem fitting her more like a short nightgown.  
“Thanks,” she swallows before she’s gingerly turning around, lacking the courage of looking him in the eye for any longer than a glance.       
“Right, uh, we should get some sleep. You can take the bed ’n I’ll sleep on the floor, yeah?”  
And she’s already nodding before the words register in her disconcerted brain. “Wait, no, it’s your bed. I can sleep on the floor,” she argues immediately, momentarily forgetting why she was so shy in the first place when the weight of being an inconvenience builds up on her shoulders.   
“Nah, m’not gonna let a fuckin’ princess sleep on the floor. S’fine, jus’ take the bed, I don’t want it. Need to make sure we weren’t followed anyway,” he grumbles, attempting to leave the room once more.  
“Rafe, you need sleep just as much as I do. It’s the middle of the night, my stepmother doesn’t even know what you did yet. She’s expecting you to return tomorrow, right?” she tries to reason, not willing to give in because letting him sleep comfortably is the least she can do to even begin returning the favor.  
He lets out a weary sigh before shrugging off his jacket, far too worn out to argue. “Yeah, alright, guess you have a point.”

They end up sharing the bed.    
And once they’ve both settled into the opposite sides, she’s far too intimidated by Rafe’s disgruntled aura to utter out anything other than a whispered goodnight before it’s quiet once more.    
However, as the night stretches on, she begins to grow restless; tossing and turning on the creaky mattress and driving Rafe mad in the process.
She doesn’t mean to, the last thing she wants is to disturb his rest but her thoughts are racing and she can’t seem to close her eyes for more than a few seconds because truthfully, she feels terrible— everything familiar has been turned upside down in the span of a day and the only life she knows has practically ceased to exist. All she wants is to go home but that’s not an option anymore and it’s scary. 
“Hey, uh, you good?” Rafe’s sudden drawl makes her flinch.    
“Sorry, can’t sleep,” she peeps out, expression apologetic when she twists to face him, causing the sheets to rustle around them.    
“Yeah, me neither since you keep movin’ around like a lunatic,” he grumbles, irritation clear in his tone.   
“M’sorry. Just can’t stop thinking about everything and I just…I’ve never understood why she hates me so much,” she breathes out, features contorting into something heavy-hearted as she chews on her bottom lip. 
He blinks tiredly; movements lethargic when he runs a hand through his hair.   
“The queen? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, she’s, uh, not that alright in the head. M’sure you’ve done nothin’ wrong, okay?” he attempts to reassure her, albeit to no avail.   
“I just— just feel like...this is all my fault, you know? And now you’re in danger too because of me,” she rambles, not able to let the thought go.    
“You don’t need to worry ’bout me, princess. There’s enough people that want me dead already, what’s one more?” he lets out a dry chuckle that makes her frown.    
“What do you mean?”    
“Nothin’ just, uh, listen…the worst thing that’s gonna happen is that she’s gonna have me killed when I don’t return, ’n once she finds out you’re still alive, she’s gonna send her soldiers to bring her your—”   
“Rafe, that’s not helping. Why would say that?” she interrupts him and apparently, he finds her scowling face to be the most hilarious thing in the world because next thing she knows he’s laughing, sleepy features scrunching up as he shakes his head. 
It’s safe to say she does not understand his humor, whatsoever.    
“All m’sayin’ is that we’re gonna have to find someplace good to hide.”    
“We have to leave the kingdom?” she asks, worried.    
“Yeah, think so,” he says, sounding far too impassive for her liking.    
“But I can’t just leave, this is my home.”   
“I know, but s’gonna be okay,” he murmurs, mouth stretching around a yawn.   
“But what if— what if something happens?” she sounds panicked, all the worst-case scenarios bouncing around her skull because she’s never even been this far from the palace. How on earth is she meant to survive in the real world? 
“I’ll keep you safe, yeah? Now can you let me sleep?” he lets out a drowsy exhale, seemingly fed up with the conversation already.   
“But what if—”   
“Shh, c’mere,” he hushes her before he’s tucking her flush against his chest— a heavy palm resting on her thigh to keep her from moving because he’s exhausted and more than aware that tomorrow is going to be a long day, especially with this overthinking princess who he wishes would just shut up.   
It’s something he’d tell her outright if he wasn’t certain that she’d start crying all over again in response— the rest of the hike here with her sobs and hiccups thrumming in his ears more than enough for one day.   
And the sudden proximity seems to work because instantly, she stops shifting around; nearly stops breathing altogether when she swallows. “What are you…”   
“Just, uh, need you to calm down, yeah?” he pats at her hip before she’s clumsily humming out another apology.  
And despite the slight trace of the muddy water, her hair still smells of forest berries and wildflowers, making exasperation worm its way into his veins. He doesn’t understand why she’s trusting her life in his hands so thoughtlessly; it’s like she has no sense of self-preservation with the way she’s blindly following him anywhere, when not even a day ago he attempted to murder her.   
He wonders if she’s always been like this; naive and dumb, always seeing the good in people, even when there isn’t any. All it took was a few remotely sweet words and she’s already allowing him to hold her this close— a foolish deer resting peacefully next to a starving wolf and expecting not to get hurt.    
Momentarily, he gets the urge to just finish the job right now, wrap his arm around her throat until the flame burns out, leaving her eyes dull, lifeless. After all, it would make his life considerably easier. He can almost feel it— the moment her heart comes to a halt in her ribcage as she turns into nothing more than flesh and bones, freeing him from this burden.  
And at the end of the day, it’s part of his nature to kill for his own benefit, muscles nearly stinging with the self-serving temptation because that’s what he’s always been; selfish.    
“Rafe, that hurts,” her voice is small, nervous, nonetheless forcing him to resurface to the current; his rough fingertips mindlessly sinking into the bare surface of her thigh, harsh enough to leave a bruise. 
Her entire form is tense, breathing shallow and limbs unmoving, resembling a rabbit rigid with fear, only amplifying this ever-growing itch under his skin.  
He clears his throat.  
“Sorry,” a mutter through his teeth before she can finally feel the pressure dissipating— his thumb smoothing over the sore patch while he tries to decide what the fuck he should do with her.

As I mentioned before I’ll be updating more challenges this summer and since June is just around the corner, I’m kicking things off with a 25-day weight loss challenge for the girlies !

But first a big disclaimer:
I’m completely against toxic wonyoungism and unrealistic body expectations (you know the type eating two cubes of ice and calling it a meal? Yeah, no). If you're looking for that kind of harmful content, this blog isn’t the place for you.

💡 Things You Need to Succeed
To truly succeed in this 25-day weight loss challenge, you need to surround yourself with the right tools, routines, and mindset that lift you up. First, build a supportive environment. That means preparing your space clear out the junk food that makes you spiral, stock your kitchen with foods that actually nourish you, and make your space feel calming and focused. Have a go-to playlist that keeps your energy up, a journal or calendar to track your progress, and maybe even a small reward system (like a movie night or self-care day) for every few days you stay consistent. You also need a structure that fits your life, not one you copy from someone else. That might be walking instead of running, or doing stretches and Pilates in your room instead of going to the gym. The challenge is yours, not theirs. And don’t underestimate the power of visual reminders: write your goal where you can see it. Stick motivational quotes on your wall. Save a note on your phone that reminds you why you started. You need energy-giving habits like drinking enough water, eating protein with your meals, getting sun in the morning, and allowing your body time to rest and recover. And most importantly, build emotional resilience. That means learning to forgive yourself quickly, and knowing how to get back up without guilt when you fall. Success doesn’t come from flawless days it comes from choosing to try again, every single time.

If you really want to grow during these 25 days, there are some dangerous patterns and toxic habits you must leave behind. First: punishment disguised as discipline. Pushing yourself to work out when your body is exhausted, starving yourself to feel "in control,” or replacing food with shame none of that will bring you real progress. Avoid turning this journey into self-abuse. You also need to avoid obsessing over numbers. The scale, calorie counts, your waist size these are tools, not definitions of your worth. If you’re constantly checking the scale and letting it ruin your mood, it’s time to step away from it. Another trap is consuming too much “fitspo” content online. What starts as motivation can become a mental war when you begin comparing your real life to someone’s filtered story. Social media should never make you feel like your journey is less valid. You also need to avoid starting over every time you “mess up.” One bad day doesn’t mean you failed. What really breaks people is the all-or-nothing mindset when one slip turns into a spiral. Let it go and move forward. And finally, avoid negative environments, whether that’s people who mock your goals or friends who constantly invite you into situations where you feel pressured to break your own promises. Your energy is sacred. If you don’t protect it, no challenge will ever stick. Cut the noise. Cut the guilt. Cut the things that drain you. This journey only works if you stop letting what’s behind you control where you’re going.

Let’s get this straight workout is the core of this challenge, workout is the core of the weight loss journey not starving yourself. Not pretending you're being productive while you scroll in bed n listen If you think eating one apple and then just laying there like is going to make the fat magically disappear? be serious. You are not going to lose weight by kicking your feet on the bed and waiting for the scale to change. That’s not health that’s self-sabotage. You have to move. You have to sweat. You need to get your heart rate up. That’s when your body wakes up and starts burning
Essential workout components checklist
𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
▢ Aim for 150 minutes of moderate cardio weekly this could be brisk walking, cycling, swimming, or dancing .
▢ Include 2-3 high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions lternate between intense bursts and recovery periods
▢ Mix up your cardio activities ,prevents boredom and works different muscle groups
▢ Start with 20-30 minute sessions ,gradually increase duration as fitness improves

▢ Don't skip leg day : ur legs contain the largest muscle groups and burn the most calories
▢ Allow rest days between strength sessions : mscles need time to recover and grow !!!
𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲
- Incorporate 10-15 minutes of stretching daily : Improves mobility and prevents injury
- Try yoga or Pilates weekly : builds core strength and flexibility simultaneously !
- Schedule active recovery days : light walking or gentle stretching on rest days
- Prioritize sleep quality : 7-9 hours nightly for optimal recovery and hormone balance (especially it's summer ! )
Weekly workout structure
⚠️ : u can structure ur own not forced to do the exact one
- Monday: Full-body strength training + 20 minutes cardio
- Tuesday: HIIT session + stretching
- Wednesday: Upper body strength
- Thursday: Active recovery (stretch or walking)
- Friday: Lower body strength + cardio
- Saturday: Longer cardio session (20-30 minutes)
- Sunday: Complete rest or gentle stretching (in ur bed )

eating just one apple a day or skipping meals thinking it'll help you lose weight faster is completely wrong and dangerous. Your body needs consistent, quality fuel throughout the day to function properly, maintain your metabolism, and support your workouts. When you starve yourself, your metabolism actually slows down, you lose muscle mass instead of fat . Real weight loss happens when you eat regularly with natural whole foods that nourish your body and keep your energy steady all day long. Ain't nooooo wayyyyyy eating one meal will help u ain't nooooo way !

Lunch (Midday Power Meal)

Afternoon Snack

you should be fueling ur body properly in order for ur body to function well when ur in ur fitness girlie era. if ur goal for example is to gain weight but u notice that u have a habit to eat very little, make a log.

i started a what i eat in a day log for a couple reasons. one bcuz i love lists and documenting things about myself, and two bcuz i wanted to make sure that i was eating well and eating good quality foods. bcuz i notice that when i eat well -> i feel well.
eat to fuel your body, dont eat just to eat
include fresh foods
make sure that you eat healthy portions (calling four almonds a meal is NOT healthy, and calling six pizza pies a meal is NOT healthy)

overall just be mindful of what u decide to fuel your body with. an easy drink that helps to be mindful with what u fuel ur body with is with SMOOTHIES.
im so sick of ppl sleeping on smoothies cuz if u dont like to directly eat vegetables or if u want an easy way to intake fresh fruits and veggies smoothies are the way to GO.
ROMANTICIZATION ;
the fun part of the whole journey, romanticization. made a pinterest board for ur fitness journey aesthetic and make it super pretty. invest in cute workout clothes to motivate urself to workout.
formulate a playlist for ur workout, something that gives u energy and motivates you. find a workout class or a youtube channel that you love. dont make working out BORING. get a workout buddy, make some video diary entries about working out/ur workout for the day.
make a blog that records whatever workout that u did. find fun ways to work out, like dancing or going on hot girl walks. create an atmosphere where u can work out and treat the time that u spend working out as a time to nurture and nourish your body.
PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE ;
motivation isnt going to get u through a sustainable fitness girl journey, motivation can only get you so far. its DISCIPLINE that gets you the results that you want and consistency.
be patient with yourself even if u fall off ur routine and grind, ur only human so let yourself live. as long as you dont make falling off a habit, you'll be okay.
make sure that u emphasize the mind -> body connection bcuz thats super important. working out is not just about working up a sweat; it's about connecting with your body and embracing the mind-body connection.

The warmth and the chatter of the kitchen staff provided a stark contrast to the crisp morning and icy atmosphere of the Reach. You smiled as you worked alongside them, determined to make yourself useful and lend a hand where you could. The staff initially hesitated about your presence in the kitchen, but they gradually accepted your help.
The head cook, a stout woman was instructing a young scullery maid, her voice gentle but firm as she explained how to chop vegetables, as you knead dough properly. 
“You’re quite the natural in the kitchen, my lady,” the head cook remarked, offering a warm smile as her hands deftly worked.
“I’ve always found comfort in cooking,” you admitted, sparkling more flour into your dough. “It reminds me of my home.” 
Sharing fleeting smiles, the other servants nodded in agreement. A comfortable, almost familial atmosphere began to cherish the cold, unyielding walls as activity hummed around you. 
The kitchen door swung open with a loud creak, and the room instantly fell silent. Turning with your dough in hand, you saw Lord James standing in the doorway, a dark expression of displeasure. The blue in his eyes deepened as they locked onto you, and the room's tension almost suffocated. 
“What are you doing in here?” he demanded, his voice cutting through the silence like the blade of his sword. 
Wiping your flour-cover hands on your apron, you straightened your posture. “I’m helping with the preparations for dinner, my lord.” 
A muscle ticked in his jaw, eye narrowing. “You are a lady, not a servant. This is not your place.” 
“I wanted to be useful,” you refused to be intimidated as you met his gaze. “Contribute in any way I can.” 
“You are the future Lady of Winter’s Reach,” he snapped. “This is not how you should be contributing. Your place is not among the servants.” 
Uneasy glances were exchanged around you, as the staff retreated into the background. The head cook, who had been friendly toward you moments ago, now avoided your eyes, a worried expression clouded her features. 
The lord stepped closer, his voice lowering yet it did not lose intensity. “You will leave the kitchen, immediately. We depart for the Prince’s wedding to your sister in three days and begin your preparation for our journey. It will be a month-long ride, and I expect you to be ready.” 
The reality of his words sunk in as you swallowed hard. “Yes, my lord,” you replied quietly, offering him a small nod. 
You felt the weight of the staff’s sympathetic gazes on your back as you turned on your heel and left the kitchen. The sense of belonging the kitchen brought had begun to slip away, replaced by the reminder of your status and the expectations that came with it. 
As you made your way to your quarters to prepare, your mind raced with the thoughts of traveling with Lord James. A month of enduring his harsh demeanor, you were determined to use the journey as another opportunity to break through his defenses.

The courtyard was abuzz with activity, three mornings later. Preparations for the journey were finalizing as horses were being saddled and supplied were loaded. Dressed in travel attire, you approached Honeybreeze, a mixture of excitement and apprehension as you stroked her mane. 
Standing by the Reach’s entrance, Lord James oversaw the final preparations. He watched as you approached your horse, his expression unreadable as his eyes flickered with a hint of something softer. 
“You are to ride in the carriage,” he stated firmly, snapping your attention to him as his tone left little room for argument. 
“I prefer to ride Honeybreeze,” your voice was calm but resolute as you replied. 
His gaze hardened as his brow furrowed. “The journey will be long and treacherous. It would be safer for you in the carriage.” 
“I appreciate your concern, my lord, but I’m more comfortable on my horse,” you insisted, with practiced ease, you mounted Honeybreeze. 
Unaccustomed to having his orders challenged, his jaw tightened. “The terrain is unpredictable, there are other threats along the way. You do not understand the dangers.” 
You met his gaze steadily, looking down at him from your horse. “I’ve ridden through difficult terrain, we can handle it.” You smiled as memories of riding Honeybreeze around Belova flooded your mind. 
“This isn’t a leisurely ride, Lady Romanoff,” his frustration evident in his voice. “It’s a month-long journey, and I don’t need any additional complications.” 
“I’m capable,” your voice firm as you countered. “I won’t be a complication.” 
The tension between you both grew as he stared at you for a long moment. Finally, the rigidity in his posture softened and he sighed. “Very well,” he conceded reluctantly. “Stay close to the carriage and follow my lead.” 
“I will,” you said, a smile tugged at your lips. “Thank you, my lord.”

As the procession moved along the roads, Lord James glanced at you with a mixture of irritation and resignation on his expression. You had positioned yourself alongside him, Honeybreeze keeping pace with Alpine, his snowy white horse. 
“I told you to stay by the carriage,” he snapped with a sharp tone. 
Undeterred, you met his gaze. “I believe it’s important for us to ride side by side, my lord. It will show a united front.” 
“This isn’t about appearances,” his eyes narrowed. “It’s about your safety.” 
“And, I feel safer riding Honeybreeze,” you calmly countered. “Besides, my lord, the people need to see us not together as just a lord and lady, but as partners.” 
“You’re too stubborn for your own good.” He sighed, clearly frustrated. 
“Maybe so,” you offered him a small, hopeful smile. “But, it’s because I believe in this union, despite it’s duty.” 
Rolling his eyes, Lord James had a hint of a reluctant smile at the corner of his lips. “Stay close, and don’t wonder off.” 
“Of course, my lord,” relief washed over you as you replied. 
The rhythm of the horses’ hooves against the dirt road created a steady and comforting beat as you rode south, the landscape of Winter’s Reach slowly giving way to rolling hills and forests surrounding the countryside.

Silence marked the first few days of the journey, with only the sounds of nature and commands toward the Reach’s soldiers to break the quiet. You allowed yourself to bask in the beauty of the land, taking in the change of scenery. 
Your nights were spent in makeshift camps, Lord James and his men stood watch as you retired to a tent. 
The full moon cast as silver glow over the campsite, as the fire crackled one evening. Seated beside Lord James, you found yourself sharing a rare quiet moment with him. The moonlight bathed you in an ethereal light, a fitting ambiance. Your future husband was known throughout the realm as the White Wolf, and help anyone who dared to enrage him. 
Staring into the flames, he was lost in thought, and you wondered what haunted his mind. 
Breaking the silence, your voice asked softly. “Do you ever miss it?”
His gaze met yours, his eyes reflecting the firelight. “Miss what?” 
You lost your train of though as you marveled at the newfound warmth within his eyes before you managed to find your voice again. “The life you had before the war,” you clarified. “Before all of this.” 
Lord James’ expression hardened, a flicker of pain danced over the warmth. “There’s nothing to miss. The past is gone.” 
“But, it’s shaped who you are,” you persisted gently. “Just as my past has me,” 
He sighed, evident in the lines of his face, the weight of his past lay heavy. “The war took many things from me,” you noticed how his left, vibranium hand clenched as he spoke of loss. “It’s not something I like to dwell on.” 
“I understand,” you said softly, placing your hand gently over the top of his fist. “But, I believe there’s still more to you than the soldier.” 
He seemed to soften for a moment, the walls around his heart crumbling ever so slightly. “Maybe,” he conceded, his fist slackened under your touch. “If so, it’s buried deep.” 
You offered him a small smile as you met his gaze once again. 
His gaze lingered on you before he looked away, pulling his hand away from your touch, his mask of stoicism slipped back into place. “Get some rest,” he said quietly. “We have a long journey ahead in the morrow.” 
Nodding, you obeyed his wishes. You understood that you had received as much as the Lord could give you, and you were satisfied with his openness. As you made your way to your tent, you looked up at the moon one last time, praying to the old gods for a safe journey.

fall is here. It's time to lock in. weight loss edition. final update.
Out of all my posts on here, this has gotten the most attention, and I can tell it's probably because it touched on a really sensitive and very popular topic: weight loss. Unfortunately or fortunately, I didn't complete the challenge, mainly because I didn't have a strong enough mentality to complete the challenge. I also fell sick mentally and physically, and well, most of the habits were kind of unattainable, especially in my environment.
Well, here is everything I learnt from this challenge and how I'll be applying these lessons to my daily life.
calorie counting x eating 1200 cals every day
First off, I'd like to say calorie counting works short-term, not long-term, as after a while I started hyper-fixating on food, and that just led me to eat more because I was too hungry and led me to be ok with eating too much unhealthy food just because there were fewer calories, so I learned volume eating, eating intuitively, and eating at the right time. I'm going to start eating at the right time to not spike my glucose levels and to also choose the healthier option when I can. I understand it is ok to have a snack when I feel like it.
overexercising x movement cycle /3
I found that it was hard to keep up with stretching, working out, and working. Also, from now on, I'll at least try to do 2 out of the 3; maybe 1 day I'll work out and stretch another walk and workout, After some reflection, I want my movement to be versatile and different Maybe I'll try some sports and the likes.

TBH, this challenge was a good experience, and I learnt a lot. Now I realize how much I want more of a wellness lifestyle and to feel good in my body, not just to lose weight; I also want to enjoy the journey and my life all in all. and the drinking water thing, I still don't know the benefits It's just a lot of pee, but I'll continue to do that. I actually like drinking the water.
PS The weight scale broke during this challenge, and I don't know my weight at the moment, but it actually helped, and I'm not obsessed with my weight as much. So yh tis all love you all.

✒️..hope. It’s something we all talk about, we all need, and yet, we seldom understand in its full depth. We hear phrases like “Keep hoping,” or “Don’t lose hope,” but what does hope truly mean, and why is it so vital to our well-being?
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪs ʜᴏᴘᴇ?
Hope is more than just wishful thinking . It’s not simply wishing that things will get better without any effort. True hope is the belief that a better future is not only possible, but within reach. It’s the feeling that even in the darkest moments , there is potential for light to shine through (we often see this in sad dramatic moment or anime lmao ). Hope is both an emotional state and a cognitive mindset that enables us to see beyond present circumstances, empowering us to take action towards a brighter tomorrow it's not motivation ! There is a diff ! (motivation is the drive to act and hope is the belief in possibility ) so It’s the force that keeps us going when life feels overwhelming, the quiet but persistent whisper that says, “You can do this, just keep going.”
Unlike optimism too , which is the general expectation that things will improve, hope involves a more active, personal belief in the possibility of change. It’s rooted in the understanding that our choices matter, that our actions can lead us to a better outcome, and that we are not at the mercy of fate alone.
ʜᴏᴡ ʜᴏᴘᴇ ɪs ʙᴜɪʟᴛ
Hope is not something we are born with . It is something we learn and develop over time. It is cultivated through experience, through resilience, and through the belief that no setback is final. Just like any other muscle in the body, the more we exercise hope, the stronger it becomes. It’s built in the small moments when we face challenges and choose not to give up, when we take that next step even though we don’t have all the answers, when we look at a failure as a lesson and not a limitation.
It is fostered by connection. Having supportive relationships, where we feel understood and encouraged, helps build our belief in a positive future. Hope grows when we see others overcome difficulties and when we learn from those who have faced hardship and emerged stronger. In this sense, hope is contagious when we see someone else hold on to hope, it reminds us that we can too .
But most importantly, hope is built through action. It’s easy to feel hopeless when we are stuck in a state of passivity. When we take deliberate steps forward, even in small ways, we send a message to ourselves that we are capable of making progress, no matter how incremental. And with each small success, hope is reaffirmed.

Hope is the antidote to despair frrr It gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning, even when the weight of the world seems too much to bear. Without hope, we can easily fall into apathy or worse, depression. It is hope that helps us find meaning in our struggles, to see them as part of a larger journey rather than insurmountable obstacles. It is also crucial for mental health. Hope has been shown that individuals who cultivate hope are more likely to bounce back from setbacks, maintain a positive outlook, and experience better overall well-being. It is linked to resilience because when we have hope, we believe that we can navigate difficulties and emerge on the other side, stronger and more capable. is essential for personal growth. It fuels ambition and provides us with the courage to dream beyond our current limitations.

Even if you’re unsure about the outcome, saying “I’ll try” or “I can figure this out” signals to your brain that you are not giving up, that you are willing to take action despite uncertainty.

Hope thrives when we experience progress, no matter how small. When we accomplish even the tiniest task, it reinforces the belief that we can make a difference, that our actions matter. This sense of achievement builds momentum, turning hope into a habit.

NGL I do this all the time when I feel hopeless. listening , read , or watch stories of individuals who have overcome adversity can be a powerful source of hope. These stories show you that no matter how dire the situation seems, it’s possible to rise above it. They can inspire you to believe that you too have the strength to get through tough times.
Surround ourselves with people who uplift and encourage us.
Hope is contagious, and when we are surrounded by individuals who believe in us and in the possibilities of the future, it becomes easier for us to believe the same. Our environment plays a significant role in shaping our mindset.
Find Purpose in Your Struggles
One of the most powerful ways to build hope is by finding meaning in your struggles. When you view challenges as opportunities for growth or as stepping stones to something greater, you begin to see them as part of your journey rather than obstacles. This shift in perspective can help foster a deeper sense of hope and resilience.

for me, it was touching and straightforward. i see that currently, you might be experiencing moments where you doubt yourself and wonder if you will reach your desired destination, but yes, you will. much depends on us and our well-being, on how our mind is doing. i see you as an intelligent person with potential, but you have been neglected and diminished in the past. there may be psychological issues that hold you back and eat away at you from the inside. fear of not finding love? nah, you will find it. even though you may not have that next version yet, i see positive aspects in you that help you get through all the difficulties you have faced. you are strong and can protect yourself from many things, but there are still challenging things. your intuition and life situations will guide you to where you belong. don't swim against the current; if you feel like doing something, just do it.

Gale Talks: Why Nemona is the perfect Rival introduced in Pokemon games.

Now I understand that this is Quite a bold claim, with the plethora of rival characters. Many are strongly for Blue, Silver as having a Jerk Rival is what inspires you to get better. Others say there are stronger Rivals Like Barry. Some even go hard for Wally because having a character arc about overcoming Growth and getting a dope theme song is what its all about.
Nemona is your Guide
Nemona is your Friend.
You are her goal as much as she is your goal
I will address these below
Nemona is your guide
Nemona is the first student you meet at the start of the Game. She is also the first trainer you actually battle. Immediately helping you get the hang of the battle system for those starting out. And like with the recent trend of Rivals she picks the starter that is weak to yours. Which considering her experience makes sense as she already COMPLETED her quest of being the best. This is her being there to check your progress.
Nemona is also the one that helps give you the free study goal of taking down all the gyms. She is the guide to your gym challenge.
She even introduces how Terastallization works. She is the one that gives you all the mechanics you need to know how to battle.
What is also amazing is during the time you are taking on Gyms, she will meet up with you and battle you, being at a comparable strength to you. But unlike with other Rival fights, Nemona's wins or loses will still progress the story. And its only after the first time you play that you realize, Nemona was showing MASSIVE restraint in all her battles with you. She is training you to be stronger. Her strategies evolve with each battle, and she has great coverage.

Nemona is your Friend
A lot of recent pokemon games try to have your pokemon rival be your friend. And it is with mixed degrees of success (I think they only started getting it right by the time Hop was introduced.) Nemona's friendship is more interesting because YOU choose how it develops. Outside of battles, there are events with Nemona that let you get to know her better, you find out how she was sickly in the past (like wally) and while she wasnt ignored by her parents, they were busy. And people saw all of her success as coming from her family's wealth, which was not the case. And she loves battles but most people are afraid of her because she takes them to seriously. She is in a way, the perfect blend of all previous rivals/ rival friends. (Except Gen 6 but thats because those werent friend rivals, they were caricatures)
She is a champion level (Blue)
People are intimidated and scared of her (Silver)
She was sickly but got better and gained confidence (Wally)
Works to help you through the world (Brandon/May)
Loves Pokemon battles and is super hyper. (Barry)
Is analytical and smart with pokemon battles (Cheran)
Friendly and has some deep seated insecurity (Bianca)
tries to be very chilled out but is passionate (Hau)
Has a burning desire to prove themselves (Hop)
Nemona has a blend of all these qualities and it works perfectly.
Nemona is purposefully holding back as to not scare you away. And its why when you finally become Champion rank she is even happier than you. Because now, SHE can go all out, and there is someone that can handle it. She finally has a friend that can handle all of her, and thats worth its weight in gold.

Nemona was someone that went through her journey. She won, she was a champion and not even Geeta could compete with her. And that skill made her intimidating to ANYONE she battled. And even when she would hold back she would trounce them. (even in the DLC, she is the strongest trainer outside of you and the Blueberry academy head).
She was bored. she had 'completed' her journey and was never challenged. So when you show up, she sees something within you. The spark of a champion. She could tell that you were the one that could challenge her. So she found a new purpose. Getting an all out battle with you. You would be her goal, and she would help you progress in anyway possible. She would check your strength, show strategies.
And while this was happening, you start to realize that she is your final opponent. She is your endgame. That's where things get interesting. As you find out how strong Nemona really is. With the reactions of the trainers that see her, and even after you beat Geeta (the champion) even she admits how she is no match for Nemona. Which really puts into perspective how this journey played out. Nemona was your first battle and she would be your most crucial battle.
Its just a great full circle moment that gives the trainer a welcome feeling. And at the end, when you finally beat her at full strength, she is excited. She isnt angry or sad. She is just so happy to give everything she has. You were able to give her what she was desperate for. And without realizing it, she became your goal. And she is finally, truly your rival.

Nemona has so much going for her character, and it adds so much to the rivalry you develop.
It is nice that GameFreak managed the perfect blend for this rival.
