Ok so the ability to process lactose is a genetic mutation that is/was mostly found in (and in those descended from) ancient societies that reared cattle or goats n shit.
My theory is most or all or most of the alien characters would likely be lactose intolerant which makes the scene where Teal’c and Jonas ate ice cream a lot funnier. They fighting for their lives twice that day.
LMAO CANON also I made the perfect meme for this like four years ago and it’s FINALLY relevant so thank you for this unique opportunity that 21 year old me was looking for
I present to you now: Jonas and Teal’c in the Cheyenne Mountain washroom after the Ice Cream Scene

The concept of a childhood home is so strange to me. Like you had the same room as a kid? The whole time?? You lived in one place for like more than 3 years? Next you're going to say your parents are still together

i played the remastered alan wake a while back and am replaying the original on steam, and, honestly, they’re so similar, I couldn’t tell which is which if you held up comparisons. ive come across reviews about the game looking outdated and bad (mostly compared to other releases in that time), but the original looks great and I like the hazy dark lighting for both this and awan
#might delete#I can’t wait to run into all the product placements#like yeah I know it’s not. top graphics of that year. but I’ve stopped and looked at the environment So many times. it’s pretty!#this is because im biased but I *loved* AWANs choice of scenery. although I wish it was as detailed and expansive as the original games#all of remedy’s games do pretty great in terms of the environment. ignore controls terrible map and the Oldest House is an incredible space#to navigate just by following signs and all the little details. the atmosphere!#don’t even need to explain how aw2 is good with that#but even Max Payne 1 has this beautiful eerie quality where everything is this fever dream of grungy or old environments#even before the literal nightmare sequence it felt like navigating a dream of this Not New York City. like of course it’s likely born from#the limitations the developers had when making it. but the emptiness and placement of npcs added to the experience#QB so far is my least favorite in its style and environment but it’s still had some good moments. the use of flashbacks + time overlapping#onto abandoned and destroyed environments was genius. the college campus itself and the train(?) cargo(?) area was neat to go through#there’s some really good stuff there! *im also. not done with QB so im still hoping things get more wild!!#im honestly more forgiving of QB as a whole and find it interesting since it went through a lot of hell in its development#this might seem negative but it’s not! it’s a shockingly beautiful game. graphics exceed expectations#the style and some locations is where it’s more boring for me. but still good. im so tempted to buy it on steam to finally finish it#endless apologies if u opened this and ur entire page opened up an essays worth of tags

A Place for the Lord
LORD, remember King David and all the troubles that he suffered. He made a special promise to the LORD. He promised you, the Mighty One of Jacob. He said, ‘I will not go into my house or get into my bed; I will not sleep even for a moment, until I find a house for the LORD. Yes, the Mighty One of Jacob needs a proper home.’ — Psalm 132:1-5 | EasyEnglish Bible 2018 (EASY) EasyEnglish Bible Copyright © MissionAssist 2019 - Charitable Incorporated Organisation 1162807. The Whaley House
The most famous of all haunted locations in San Diego, with its stories told in magazines, movies, and television shows.
Even before all the tragedy that befell them, the Whaleys told the local newspaper that they were experiencing a poltergeist that they believed was the ghost of James “Yankee Jim” Robinson, who was hanged on the property for stealing a boat years before the infamous home was built.
Not helping matters is the fact that the Whaley House was built upon an old cemetery. The Whaleys long maintained that they heard footsteps in the house, with passersby corroborating the Whaley’s claims by reporting apparitions in the home’s windows from the streets.
During the house’s later periods of restoration, workers and visitors claimed to hear strange, unexplained sounds, sights and even smells. Most felt a powerful presence whenever inside the residence.
This is believed by many to be the lingering ghost of Jim Robinson mentioned earlier. He would torment the living by leaving footprints, stomping on the floor, and making chilling noises throughout the abode.

Mad that the only way you can appreciate Fallout 4 is when you have the option to Fast Travel removed.
And I mean like, physically disabled. The game will not allow you to fast travel (except for using the Vertibird grenades).
I was so sad by the distress call from Fallon's (even though I allowed it to loop for 30 minutes as I tried to get a Perfectly Preserved Pie). Listening to the crying of the woman trapped in the Jewelry Department safe.
Her final words were about how thirsty she was.
I left her skeleton a can of purified water and closed the door.

How are things going post-move? How many boxes left unpacked? Anything hung on the walls yet? What’s your kitchen like? Said hi to any neighbors?
So far so good! Bébé's new daycare starts Monday, and I think things will feel a lot more normal and relaxed once we're all truly back in our routines and her various grandparents (who have been heroically covering childcare for the last three weeks) clear out.
There ARE some things hung on the walls, but mainly because the previous tenants left a number of nails and hooks behind, most of them in convenient places. The walls are plaster and I've been finding it unexpectedly difficult to hammer new nails in so far, so we're gonna see if the handyman can work some magic there.
The boxes question is complicated because there are some things we're just not planning to unpack, like gardening supplies (our current landladies are responsible for yard upkeep) and clothes and toys and things Bébé has grown out of but that we'd like to hold onto in the eventual event of a younger sibling—not necessarily in this house, though. Fortunately, we have a TON of space and had planned on storing such things, so nothing's feeling cluttered.
The kitchen is a good size and our stuff seems to fit! It hasn't been updated/renovated in a good few decades, so while I think the appliances might be newer, there's no island (an old IKEA table is doing that job) and generally it just needs some zhushing. But it's comfortable and serviceable.
That's been the case with the whole house, really—great for the year or two we intended to live here but not something we'd want to own, or deal with renovating in its entirety.
We've met a few neighbors (including the landladies, a married couple who live around the corner), and every single person has been lovely and welcoming! One next-door neighbor also has a very friendly gigantic black lab puppy, and Phoebe has seemed to enjoy racing him with the fence betwixt. (Benedict is big enough that I actually think she's more comfortable that way.)
Perhaps also of note is that there is a positively aces corner café literally three houses down from us on the main drag! We have all but moved in there as well.

today has instilled a new zest for life in me. oh god things could be so so much worse!
#was hanging out w friends yesterday and my one friend got pulled over going through a toll booth near my house#turns out his registration was expired and he didnt know and they towed him car#he had the cops take him to my house bc the dmv doesnt take walk ins. stayed over. we took him to the dmv in the morning#2 hours in there to fix the registration + another 2 to get his parents to transfer him money for it#go to the towing place and they cant release his car bc theyre a private company that works for the state#(he was pulled over on the parkway so it was a state trooper)#and they need a release form from the state police who are located at an unmarked building off the side of the parkway#like its not on the map#we go. finally get an officer to come out. officer comes out. says he cant give him the form bc his license is suspended#because he got a ticket 1 year ago and had a court date but he had just moved and the courts had his old address#so he never received his summons and the court just assumed he was ditching them#PLUS. once the state trooper found the actual ticket my friend remembered that he had gotten pulled over bc his phone#was in his hand but he was using it as a GPS bc he was new to the area. and the cop wrote up a ticket but never gave him one#so he didnt even know he had been written up#so now his car is stuck in south jersey. he has to take the train up to north jersey. beg the brooklyn courts to let him appear online#and then somehow get back down here and get the paperwork to get his car. meanwhile its also $250 every day the tow people have the car#i just cant believe how this didnt all happen at once. how it was quite literally one thing after the next in a straight line of disaster
