“You really didn’t hear a single one of my alarms going off? You’re late anyway, so come back to bed. Let’s sleep some more, hmm? You turned off the alram, didn’t you? No. Where are the black socks? In the laundry basket. I told you not to wear mine. Or at least wash them. Where’s my jacket? Look carefully, it must be somewhere. Oh, it might be at my place. Why is nothing where it’s supposed to be? Damnit.”

Alienoid: Return to the Future
Movies watched in 2024
Alienoid: Return to the Future (2024, South Korea)
Director & Writer: Choi Dong Hoon
Mini-review:
I'm gonna be honest: I barely remembered anything about the first part, except that it was a pretty fun piece of popcorn entertainment. Now, after a quick recap, I can say this sequel lives up to the first one in that sense. The plot gets more convoluted and some of the twists left me flabbergasted, but the outstanding cast makes it work. As with the first one, my favorite part was the mixture of sci-fi and fantasy elements with the period setting, although the parts set in the present are very entertaining as well. Also, while the CGI leaves a lot to be desired, the sets and costumes are all stunning. Anyway, Alienoid: Return to the Future might not be a landmark in sci-fi cinema nor Choi Dong Hoon's best movie, but it's engaging and fun enough.

aight ok while i attempt to process my Blind emotions rn i think i've figured out what's f*cking me up the most at the moment about Ryu Sung Hoon and it is this: he reminds me of Lee Chang Joon and Yoon Se Won in the same breath and if you've watched Secret Forest you will understand
#tv: blind#tv: stranger#blind#tvn blind#blind tvn#blind 2022#블라인드#tvn secret forest#tvn stranger#secret forest#ha seok jin#yoo jae myung#lee kyu hyung#kdrama#there's a bit of Dong Jae in him too if you strictly look at the bodily trauma/some of the emotional#but Chang Joon. Se Won. pushed to the brink enough times that they've had to go after their own justice bc the world is not kind#to them. it does not care for them. and so they act and so everyone else believes them to be cruel but who was cruel first?#'ani. i never thought of you as my brother' is just Chang Joon admitting that he used Si Mok as his knife to cut through corruption.#Sung Hoon taking his blows when Sung Joon hits him in his anger and grief is just Chang Joon stepping back like he has been shot#and all the fight has gone out of him when Si Mok asks him to come with him on that rooftop and he keeps going.#Sung Hoon sprawled out on the ground in the rain bleeding and soaked is just Chang Joon with his halo of blood#arms spread out like Calvary#and Sung Hoon's reasons for this are Se Won's reasons. his motives are Se Won's motives#but even amidst all of this it does not mean that they (Chang Joon/Se Won) did not love him (Si Mok)!!!!!!!#it does not mean that he (Sung Hoon) did not love him (Sung Joon)!!!!!!!!!#yes i had to go back to SF's last episode in order to make those connections so f*ck all of this i am seriously unwell today#local gay watches kdramas.txt

Dr. Romantic: The Way to a Dream Come True
Dr. Romantic is made up of three seasons with a lapse of 4 years between the Season 1 and Season 2 and a 3 years lapse between Season 2 and 3. The first season we are introduced to the regular Doldam Hospital and new arrivals: Kang Dong Joo and Yoon Seo Jung. Master Kim helps these two young doctors and his regular staff to sharpen their skills and find realize their dreams. We see their growth as professionals and as human beings, while healing people and fighting to keep the hospital open. This first season ends with Kang Dong Joo and Yoon Seo Jung heading to new challenges but leaving a hope for their return.
Second season, Master Kim and his regular staff are still healing people while fighting to maintain the hospital running. We are introduced to three new doctors: Cha Eun Jae, Seo Woo Jin, and Yoon Ah Reum. In this case we have doctors returning and a doctor from a capital hospital, Park MinGuk becomes Holdam Hospital director as part of Chairman Do's attempt to take Master Kim down. But at the end we leave the hospital with a secure standing (no one can touch the property) and Dr. Park decides to partner with Master Kim and work together towards making Master Kim's dream come true - have a trauma center in the hospital.
Season 3 seems to be the conclusion to his story. Now they have the trauma center building connected to the old part of the hospital and they are about to open, but they need government funding to help run the center since this is a non-profit hospital. The staff is divided into two areas and those working at the trauma center will need to deal with their new director. Master Kim's Plan B - Dr. Cha Jin Man, who is also Dr. Cha Eun Jae's father and later Plan A - Kang Dong Joo.
I must admit that I was so excited to see Kang Dong Joo back and to see that Yoo Seo Jung returned, along other doctors that were part of the staff in the previous two seasons. It is satisfying to see Master Kim's dream come true: have the trauma center ran by his students.
You would've thought that he would want to run the center - after all, it was his dream - but he decided to stay in the old part of the hospital and have the another person run the trauma center. I loved the love stories and the new young characters. It was a really sweet way to bring this story to an end.
This story is one of my favorites on the doctors-drama category. A most watch, the three of them. I would watch them back to back, that way I would catch on things I probably missed since I saw them when they came out and time has past between each viewing.

Nome: Lee Kyu Faceclaim: Wi Hajoon, Ator Data de nascimento e idade: 12.08.1992 — 31 anos Gênero: Masculino Etnia e nacionalidade: Sul-coreano, Coreia do Sul

Daily Dose of Sunshine
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2023
Daily Dose of Sunshine (2023, South Korea)
Directors: Lee Jae Kyu & Kim Nam Su
Writers: Lee Nam Gyu, Oh Bo Hyun & Kim Da Hee (based on the webtoon by Lee Ra Ha)
Mini-review:
When I heard this drama was coming out, I got a bit worried, since k-dramas don't have the best track record when it comes to handling this topic. Thankfully, this show's team mostly pulled it off. Sure, it falls into stereotypes from time to time, but its focus is always on empathy, acceptance and tolerance. It really tries to make the viewer understand how hard and undeservedly misunderstood mental illnesses are. For better or worse, that also means the drama doesn't shy away from showing the darkest parts of these illnesses, so please be very careful if this topic is triggering for you, cause there are a lot of hard-to-watch scenes. In terms of acting, the entire cast is great, especially the actors playing the patients, and Park Bo Young. In fact, this might arguably be her career's crowning achievement. The one thing I didn't really like were the romantic parts. I just didn't care for any of the romances, and the show would've been better off without them. Anyway, Daily Dose of Sunshine surprised me by handling a complex topic in a much more humane and hopeful way that I expected.
