Captain King dice doodle?

So I’m posting this doodle here for the sake of answering this ask, but just in case for anyone new - I have a pirate au for Cuphead! It’s mainly centered around King Dice and the Devil (plus the King’s Court), and the writing/artwork is still in the works, but my point is that this au also has a blog on tumblr! A little post about the parallels between Sophie and Howl and Justin and Suliman because I cannot be the only one seeing this

Fist of all — and I've already mentioned this in one of my older posts but it's worth mentioning again — Witch of the Waste is apparently rather repetitive in her plans, because she took Ben as "a bait to fetch Justin" the same way she has to get Sophie in order to catch Howl.

And the fact they were both very adamant about it: the loser Howell went to search for Sophie looking like a SCARECROW and Justin was arguing with his brother for month without changing the topic before he just RUN AWAY TO FIND BEN ANYWAY.

They say lovers are crazy, after all.

Second of all, whatever is happening here. I mean, I get it, Sophie is too happy too look away from her horrible husband but THESE TO GUYS DOING BASICALLY THE SAME THING THEY'RE DOING TEN STEPS AWAY FROM THEM? (Except they weren't holding hands, but well, there was no chance of happening anyway).

And the fact that there's no dialogue — all of these guys are basically just looking at one another in silence for some amount of time.

(I do not now how to comment this third quote. Besties seemed to be really happy to see eachother as this shaking hands-hugging stuff happened immediately after the horror that was Percival)

Third of all — and there's probably more but I'll stop on these one cause it needs context and one of my favs — this small moments in CITA hinting on both soldier's and the genie's real identities through Ben and Sophie accordingly.

This becomes even funnier when you remember that Howl and Justin were affected by the same kind of spell (although Justin's were lighter) and these two were a bit desperate to notice something familiar, anyway.

(Also I find it especially funny how Ben still stands on his take of knowing the solider even when Abdullah told him pretty clearly that's a random guy from Strangia. "Then he reminds me of someone who I know" HE LOOKS LIKE HE HAS BEEN THROUGH TEN WARS, HAS A DIFFERENT HAIRCUT, UNIFORM, HASN'T SHOWERED PROPERLY IN SOME TIME AND YOU LOOK AT HIM THROUGH DUSTY MIRROR?? These gives me Sophie's "what genie" vibes)

Haha what a silly character I relate to on a normal level :)

I wish we’d have him in season 3 depressed and miserable and aimless. We get to see him struggling. He stood up to his abuser and he feels no sense of victory or peace. If anything, all he wants to do is go to him and apologize, and beg for forgiveness- Even if he’d probably face even worse treatment as punishment for his betrayal, which in his mind, would be deserved.

Johnny was all he’s ever had, companion-wise and motivation-wise. This new freedom is terrifying to him— How do you adapt to freedom when the cage is all you’ve ever known? He’d be confused and in shock, probably withdrawing into isolation until he physically or financially can’t.

Chet seems to be isolated— And knowing Johnny, this may have been intentional, always keeping Chet too busy to maintain any relationships, and keeping him from his old fraternity brothers, leaving him entirely reliant on him.

So now he’d be completely alone, with nobody to tell him where to go or what to do, which, for over two decades, has been the only life he’s ever known. Even when he’s gone, he can still feel Johnnys influence. Pretty much everything he’s ever done has been for or was influenced by Johnny, whether directly or indirectly, and now that’s all gone and there’s a void in his heart and he feels like he’ll die if it’s not filled.

And none of the other characters really interact with Chet, and according to his planner, the only time he meets with other monsters is for work related reasons. Since his schedule revolves around Johnny, I’m lead to believe that the “Lunch with (ROR member)” stuff is meant to mean it’s Johnny meeting up with them, not Chet- hence why he writes “Hopefully next time I’ll get to attend as well.”

The only other monster he interacts with in the show as well as the only one who’d maybe notice and/or care to help him is Tylor— Actually, pause. That could pose as a potentially interesting dynamic that can be explored; Chets’ apprehensiveness towards Tylor caused by how he’d managed to become the center of Johnnys’ attention in such a short time. That, and, well… The uncanny resemblance he holds with Johnny.

Oh, and also he’s definitely on Randall’s revenge list. So that’s fun.
