#sketch#comic#ocs#oc:romsir#oc:penny#oc:end#this was intially going to be a dtl comic would you believe that#anyways this is about the character development romsir goes through at the beginning of deep breath#they go from being listless and kinda unreliable to having something to live for and work towards#they and penny bond extremely closely after the collapse. each was under the impression that no other humans survived#they experience a similar bond w jia but thats more paternal/fraternal in nature#penny and romsir have something borderline unhealthy going on#but theyre deeply in love and by the end of the narrative theyre in much better places#also im so glad i could draw romsirs fucked up skeleton arm finally. they only have it for a little bit before it has to be amputated#but i think its so funny#BTW THEY ARE NOT JUMPING OFF A BUILDING. THATS NOT WHATS HAPPENING#the 4th panel out of those 6 is the collapse closing in on them and their hand being fucking vaporized#3 seconds later daemos pulls them out of the collapse but theyre like chewed tf up by then#and 5th panel is them ~8 days after dying catching their first shard of the end#this being a dtl comic would have been so funny actually maybe i should revisit it#ANYWAYS GOODNIGHT MWAH

oc-tober day 4 complete with iorek, one of my more under-appreciated ocs... underappreciated by me, of course 😭
iorek (pronounced yore-eck) is a iotere (pronounced yo-tare-ay). iotere are a serpent-like folk that live in vast cave systems on a planet with low gravity. their bony masks are the only truly hard parts of their body, and they can squeeze through any space they can fit their heads into. their diet largely consists of shellfish that live in underground aquifers.
iorek lives with my characters romsir, areson, xalei, and eno, but beyond that i haven't developed much of his character... i know he's quiet, stoic, and serves as a paternal figure due to his advanced age. but other than that he's got nothing 😵💫 go grandpa! i guess 😭
#digital art#sketch#ocs#oc:iorek#oc:areson#oc:romsir#oc:eno#bweirdoctober#i made iorek in high school so i have no excuse for him being this underdeveloped its kinda embarassing#i have more lore for his species than him as a character so. ig ill put that in the tags#iotere have a diminishing population due to prejudices in the greater universe. theyve been treated rather poorly for a long time#their societies are matriarchal in nature and are sort of similar to bees#iorek is like analogous to a drone but hes unique in that hes lived a lot longer than expected after being kicked out of his maternal nest#also in regards to physical appearance iorek is chubby. he lives on a planet with much high gravity now and its harder for him to get aroun#so hes gotten kinda sedentary and gained a bit of weight. homeworld iotere are a bit slimmer#also hes soft to the touch. like velvet. iotere are covered in a fine down all over their bodies#also they dont have true eyelids. theyve been underground long enough to lose those#they have something like a transparent nictitating membrane to keep the eye moist and clean since they havent lost vision yet#but iorek struggles to see in full sunlight and operates best in low to no-light environments#what im trying to say is you'd lose a staring contest with him bc you cant tell when he 'blinks' and he would cheat with a straight face

uhhhh more ocs but theyre pokemon but this time im actually thinking about it in context of my canon
Uhhhm Romsir and Meyrin(+Mimic) are in this constant reincarnation chase where Romsir is desperately trying to live a normal quiet life but Meyrin quickly follows them to whatever new life theyre living and inevitably kills them. Usually accidentally, and usually killing himself in the process. In this lifetime they were pokemon 👍
Meyrin is usually a few years behind Romsir because it takes him a while to catch up/find where they went but this time around he was basically right on their ass when they woke up in the pokemon world. He probably would have killed them immediately if some rando Houndour hadn't stumbled across them and scared Meyrin+Mimic away.
Houndour looked after Romsir and nursed them back to health even though they were initially extremely extremely hostile to him (innate Buneary instincts + they saw a vaguely dog shaped thing attack them), but they warmed up to him eventually. He's the one who gave them their signature pecha scarf, as a reassurance against Meyrin's poison fang attack that initially made them faint.
Romsir got to spend at least a good decade in the pokemon world, right up until the point that their friendship with Houndour finally got high enough and they evolved. Right after evolving, they got into a fight with Mimic (who had been maxing its own friendship stat in preparation for Romsir's evolution) and Meyrin. Meyrin made a rash decision and used explosion in the heat of the battle, immediately killing all three of them. Houndour survived and just kinda has to deal :/
