The Canonicity of the Digimon Wonderswan Games
I am right now a bit back into my old Digimon hyperfixation I am afraid. So let me nerd out a bit more about it, or in this case rant about another thing.
See, I am in a bit of a weird position in regards of this fandom. I am from Germany, where we got the dub names and stuff, but the Japanese cut of the anime. But also, I switched to watching the sub already by the time Digimon Tamers was starting to air in Japan, and had fairly easy access to most of the Japanese media for the franchise through the magic of the internet.
As such I grew up with the Japanese stuff for Digimon in the most part. Including the Wonderswan games, that are kinda legendary in the west. And man, let me tell you: I love those games. They are not really good games, I would argue. Like the game mechanics are just not very polished, and like in a lot of Japanese games at the time you needed to grind quite a lot. But I loved the story and the way it was portrayed. And I adore the game version of Ryou. He is my cute baby boy, who needs a serious hug.
However... Something that I have already been annoyed with was the fact that a lot of western fandom has always seen these games as canon. And I kinda get why - at least in regards to Adventure/02 - given that Ryou gets referenced in the canon a lot. It is canon that Ryou exists in this universe, as well as Millenniumon. And it is canon that Ken and Ryou travelled through the digital world. However... The game as it is, is in fact not canon and never was meant to be. This is because games very much contradict several aspects of the primary canon (the show). Let us go through those things, okay?
Anode/Cathode Tamer
This game takes place on New Years Eve 1999, so about 4 (or really 5) months after Digimon Adventure. Millenniumon, a Digimon that has been formed when the data of the defeated Machinedramon fused with a Chimeramon, messed up the digital world and brought back the villains the Chosen Children had already defeated. Being brought back, they kidnap the Chosen children. Agumon turns to a human child - Ryou Akiyama - as he needs a human to evolve. So, Ryou on his own has to fight through the villains of Digimon Adventure to free the chosen children. He is not a Chosen Child himself, though, being made to borrow Taichi's Digivice.
Now, this game is clearly not canon - the villains being brought back is never mentioned again, and it is explicitly said that spring 2000 was the first time that the Chosen Children returned back to the Digital World after their original adventure.
Other than that... I kinda love how vile the villains are in this game. I really adore it. But yeah, definitely not canon.
Tag Tamers
Tag Tamers starts during the events of the second movie. Diaboromon is defeated and just as this happens, Ryou and Ken get contacted by V-mon and Piccolomon. Millenniumon is back, and it is up to Ryou to defeat it. This time he has to partner up with V-mon, who is already destined to be Daisuke's partner. So Ryou and Ken go visit the digital world together - only to find out, that it was all a trap set up by Millenniumon to lure Ryou back.
This game at once is the one most directly referenced in the Show (with Ken's flashback to getting infected with the Dark Spore) and also the more most directly contradicted by the show. Because while the game takes place in March 2000, the series explicitly names the time of Ken and hence Ryou travelling to the digital world as August 2000, exactly a year post-Adventure. More interestingly we do not see any partner with Ryou in the flashback either, and it is pretty clear that if V-mon ever met Ken or Ryou before, he does most certainly not remember.
It should also be noted that in this game Ken and Ryou both get D-3 Digivices, while in the primary canon Ken obviously received a normal Digivice at this point, that only later turned into the D-3 at the Dark Ocean.
D-1 Tamers
D-1 Tamers takes place not too long after Tag Tamers. While watching over Ken, who is sick from the Dark Spore, Ryou finds an online quiz about Digimon and upon answering it gets once more summoned to the Digital World. Here, he is made to participate in the D-1 Tournament against other Children and their Digimon partners, including both characters from the anime and some original characters. However, soon enough it turns out, that the tournament was just something created by the Holy Beasts to train Ryou up to once more fight against Millenniumon.
Basically, the same from before applies. The kids in this game all have D-3 Digivices, that did not yet exist in this universe. Nowhere in canon is it ever mentioned that Taichi and Co. have travelled back to the Digital World at this point - and mind you, the entire thing with the Holy Beasts also does not make a whole lot of sense considering the canon of the show (with the Holy Beasts just being brought back).
As someone who tends to latch onto minor characters very easily, I loved the original characters in this game, even though they have very few lines.
Mind you, if you have been in Digimon fandom spaces for a longer time, you might have come across the picture underneath before and thought to yourself: "Oh, this looks official." However... It is actually Fanart. To be exact this picture seems to originate with a fan-book on the games called Digimon Crusader. (I have been trying to get my hands on that one before. But I have only seen it two times up for auction and never could get manage to set up a proxy in time - as the sellers were never shipping to Europe.)
This is the book by the way:
Brave Tamer
Lastly there is Brave Tamer, a game that is rather hard to describe, because it involves a ton of time travel. Hurray, because this plot was not already convoluted enough. lol
Basically, it starts with Ryou at the very beginning of the Digital World, meeting Monodramon and then timehopping a whole lot to help both the Chosen Children and Tamers (who also show up here, because the game released by the time Tamers was out), and also get some closure. Please note, at this point in time the digital world has fucked up Ryou's mental health for good. lol
The game ends with Monodramon forcing a fusion between himself and Millenniumon, defeating the villain like this and leaving Ryou out of time with a single Digitama.
The plot of this game, due to the time travel, is a whole mess. I adore the game for the worldbuilding it does for the Adventure digital world, even though this, too, is doubtful in terms of canonicity. There is no real harm to take this as canon for the Adventure-world, though obviously the show itself contradicts this in terms of canon for the Tamers-world.
The crossover stuff between Tamers and Adventure verse is also very confusing to say the least. But yeah, given that none of the interactions here ever get referenced anywhere: This is also very certainly not canon. (Also, for some reason Ryou aged 2 years between D-1 Tamers and Brave Tamer, even though Brave Tamer starts up very shortly after D-1 Tamers ends.)
So, what is canon?
All of this might leave you wondering: What is canon for Ryou? Well, it is kinda hard to say. What we can assume is something like this:
In the universe of Digimon Adventure there is or was a boy named Akiyama Ryou. We do not know a whole lot about him, but based on his design he was probably 10 or 11 years old in August of 2000. When Ken first got called into the Digital World, he met Ryou there, and the two of them defeated Millenniumon, getting Ken infected with the Dark Spore. We do not know what happened to Ryou after this, but it seems unlikely that he and Ken stayed in contact, given Ken never brings him up. It is not impossible that he has died, though this is never confirmed, or contradicted by the canon.
In the universe of Digimon Tamers, there also exists a boy named Akiyama Ryou. Other than the boy from the games, he is not from Tokyo, but from a fishing village near Kitakyushu. We do not know whether he has a mother, but he has a father, as well as an uncle who lives in Tokyo. Whenever Ryou participated in the Digimon tournaments, he stayed with his uncle, apparently. In December 2000, Ryou meets Cyberdramon in Tokyo, and realized that Cyberdramon cannot stay in the real world because it is too aggressive. So he decides to travel to the Digital World together with it. Now, technically you can argue whether Cyberdramon is the Digimon resulting from the fusion of Monodramon and Millenniumon, but Ryou is very much a different character with a different backstory.
(And mind you: No, that US Comic that marries the Digimon Tamers story with some of the game story, is very much not canon, like all US-only material.)

bestie!! Can you tell me about your book, Land of Tales? I may have just stalked the tag for a solid forty minutes and I’m dying to know more (I LOVE me some good fairytale retellings)
BESTIE I LOVE YOU FOR SENDING ME THIS ASK I'm so so honored?? Thank you so much!! (also same we love fairy tale retellings they're amazing)
OKAY SO! I'm gonna give you a brief overview of the book in case you didn't see what it's about, then I'll do some fun facts because I deserve it as a treat and I'm hyperfixating on my own book series right now (and also Valiant. Minor detail. LET'S MOVE ON)
The main plot: My girl Rebecca Wood lives on Earth, but never knew her parents. She discovers at the beginning of the book that she, and the family she never knew, is from the fairy tale world, and so she goes there with the help of this socially awkward cinnamon roll, Liam. We love Liam, and we feel bad about the amount of Horrors I put him through, including but not limited to social interactions and torture
The rest of the book is basically Rebecca and Liam's travels through Avena (fairy tale world) meeting fairy tale characters and evading the evil Empress Goldilocks (who has magic plants and fairy tale princesses for assassins). And there are more books. Or there will be. Four overall in the main series, two prequels, umm... *pauses to count* okay yeah there are a lot of stories post canon. And I've already written a handful of short stories for fun and profit!
And now it's fun facts about some of the characters time:
Cinderella is, as mentioned, an assassin! She has fabulous fashion taste, glass shoes that can morph into any shoe type she wants, and is incredibly sadistic. Her husband Gavin is what would happen if Jean-Ralphio Saperstein, Schimdt from New Girl, and Oscar from The Rookie were fused into one incredibly vain, lazy person who wore a lot of capes
Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk is a pirate (occasionally of the sky). He's married to a future seer who basically tricked him into taking her hostage the first time they met, and has two kids. They are utter gremlins and we love them
Alec and Risha, who I've been talking about lately, are from Camelot. Risha's dad is Sir Gareth, aka Gawain's cool brother. In my series, the people of Camelot have Australian accents because why not?
OH MY GOSH I JUST THOUGHT OF A CHARACTER I HAVEN'T TALKED ABOUT ON HERE okay his name is Bob. It's short for uhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm gonna be straight with y'all I don't remember his full name. It's really long. But he's the Magic Mirror from Snow White! He's a cursed prince who likes shipping his best friend with her love interest, and boba tea (if it exists in this universe. I shall ponder this) and he's just a little chaos gremlin and I would die for him
Somehow, every single ship in this series is enemies to lovers (except Alec and Risha, slow burn friends to idiots in love my beloved) and it's really funny to me. They're all different flavors of enemies to lovers, too. We've got "coworkers who annoy the crap out of each other to lovers", "I tried to kill your friends that one time and am involved in the organization that killed your brother but now we're working together and technically I'm engaged but it's a engagement of convenience and we're connecting to lovers", and one of my personal favorites, "you forced me to take you hostage that one time and now I'm stuck with you which is really annoying to lovers". There are, believe it or not, others
One more fun fact for the road: I have a book planned that's set after the series, and it's a combination of no less than three fairy tales at once. Possibly more, for all I know
Oh, and actually last of all! The first book in the series, which I shall not reveal the title of just yet because DRAMA, is finished! All polished up and shiny, and I'm currently looking into publishing options and cover artists! (also my girl a.spice is doing illustrations I can't wait for you guys to see them they're incredible)
#thanks for the ask!!#this was super fun to answer#land of the tales#if you have more questions about specific characters let me know#i should really do a writing ask game but for my characters. that would be a lot of fun#hazel rambles about her original writing

I made another thing! Dredge ending spoilers, so watch out. Essentially just an au where the bad ending turns all humans into aberrations. That includes ya boy the Fisherman and the Collector (they’re conjoined by the shoulders and the leg). This is from the Fisherboys perspective. Warning for body horror and some guy snorting massive doses of copium.
Everything is fine…everything is fine…
Our hands are quaking. We can—I can barely hear myself think. It doesn’t hurt, but everything feels so wrong. All I have to do is try not to think about it. It’s like he isn’t even there…it’s like we’re still separate. Because we are! We have to be!
The air groans and whistles, carrying the thick smell of smoke and the sounds of faint screams. The sky burns red, the water mirroring its crimson intensity. The air is so hot, sweltering and thick, truly unbearable. We can’t survive for long. This is all our fault. I shouldn’t have listened to him. I should have never given him any ‘relics’. If he wanted relics he should have hired someone else!
Wait.
Are we in the Marrows?
It certainly looks similar. Despite the…growths and the generally red look the layout is fitting. And Greater Marrow, it’s in ruin. The lighthouse has taken the most of the damage, but the rest of the homes are still ablaze. Little Marrow is not much different.
However, Little Marrow is closer, and it is the first land that we would have set foot on in a while…should I wake him? I turn to his sleeping form, which I regret instantly. My eyes pull themselves down out of curiosity, inspecting our predicament against my will, yet I do not stop them.
His arm is joined into mine, our hands connected by the tendons. The side of his head is still scabbing, and mine is too. Our faces had been fused together, but it wasn’t pulling up any important veins, so I had cut us apart. It was painful and difficult, but it helps me feel like he’s not attached to me. His eyes…dammit, his eyes. He had pried them out at the sight of our—his dearest wife. Although she wasn’t much of any human anymore.
I tear my gaze away. I can’t be glossing over this disgusting mess. I’m going to fix it. I’m going to fix everything. Everything is fine.
I drag our bodies through the thick water before I pull us ashore. It’s what I expected, the houses in ruin and the bright red fires blazing endlessly. I turn, but a sign catches my eye…it’s a scrap of a hull, very similar to the hull of the travelling merchant’s boat. It reads “SAFE PLACE IN WOODS”.
I look up to the trees behind the village, burning quickly. Is it worth a shot? Well, anything’s worth it at this point…
Where was I? Nowhere! (Okay, I lied. I was busy being hyperfixated on the Magnus Archives ((the Vast forever)). I’m sorry, I’ll try to be more dredge but I can’t make any promises)

NEW HYPERFIXATION BABY !!!
Today, it's the owl house !
Wanna know about my fucked up unhinged Eldritch Horror hc/au/world building/lore bullshit ??? (I kind of got inspired by Danny Phantom, just a tiny bit ?)
Yes ? Fantastic ! :D
Spiritual Unifying (it's not connected to the "day of unity", Philip just read about Spiritual Unifying and believed it was the best way to fool the demon realm's citizens) (it was-)
But it doesn't explain what it is...
Simple really ! It's when two (2) different Souls mix together to become a completely new one ! (You see what the batard man did here ?)
How does it happen ? Well... When the Souls collide against eachother one way or an other of course ! Either the Souls are from the Dead, or the Living !
But if they are from separate state of existence (Alive and Dead), they cannot mix together. It would just be a possession of some sort.
*looks at Eda/owl beast + lilith/raven beast + hunter/flapjack (because yes he was still alive when he gave his Soul save hunter, sue me !), and smiles*
... Anyway !
It's easier for the Soul of the Dead to unifie, since they're "unaware" and "unconscious". Plus they leave the memory of whom they once were upon death (those are the oracle's spirits, sealing away a soul is... horrifying, but possible), so they technically became new souls. They're recycling themselves (?) Naturally
The "recycled" Souls do Wander a bit before their rebirth. That's when the Unifying process could possibly happen, and it can happen multiple time during the Wandering too !
Now, for Living Souls... The process is quite... Uncomfortable to say the least.
Specially when, technically, only Dead Souls can Unify. But don't worry ! It's only on first contact when they die, and they come back to life really quickly too ! (But healers and oracles who check on them will know that they died at one point, even if they're alive right now)
Unless it happens during the womb, the souls are still "unaware" at that stage. They're alive but not yet living, the mixing process isn't painful here.
Because yes, it is painful.
Either because of two completely different body fusing together to make a singular one, like their Soul. (And also their memories)
Or because the body has to change to adapt to the second Soul as they merge together. (Again, memories too) The body may have been owned by only one Soul before, but now the other one is as much of the owner as the first. It does... Strange things. In particular, the shape shifting.
Strange enough for anyone else other than an oracle would believe that it's a curse. :)
It's physically, mentally, emotially and spiritually painful and exhausting.
So much stress being in ones bodies...
But it's fine ! Once the process is finished, the new Soul (and merged person) will be okay ! Even if they didn't wanted to happen in the first place. :)
But only one thing,
something that you really shouldn't do...
Separating two Souls that are merging.
If they started the process, they're already one.
It will only destroy them. Kill them.
Their Soul will be gone.

This is making me realize that the way I function is abnormal and I fuse everything together. In a way it shouldn’t.-🐬
Hey love,
I'm wasn't sure if you genuinely wanted to share the previous ask so publicly, so I'll just respond to this part.
I know it's really hard to realize that 'your normal' isn't 'everyone else's normal'.
It can be so jarring and emotional to have it begin to click that something so ever present inside you is 'wrong'. The literal way you view the world and process life isn't the 'typical' experience.
And I want you to know that there is nothing wrong with you.
Now, bear in mind, this does not mean you shouldn't take steps to address this and find better coping mechanism for daily life.
What you've described is coping mechanisms to trauma.
You are this way, at least in part, due to the things that have happened in your past. Deeply unpleasant things that you haven't been able to process, in part, due to these coping mechanisms.
None of these things are your fault.
But you can recover and find a better path forward despite all of it.
I will not lie to you, love, it will be hard.
You will have bad days where you wish you never started unpacking this trauma and stayed a daydreamer.
But there will also be good days.
Beautiful days.
Days where, at the end of them, you realize how far you've come.
Where you were there. The whole time. And wouldn't have wished to miss a single thing.
It may be frightening.
It will be difficult.
You will likely backslide hard a few times, if not more.
But you can do it.
I know you can.
I don't want you to think these words are empty, 'just don't be depressed' kind of platitudes, love.
I have also struggled with disassociation, apathy, anxiety, cptsd, and (undiagnosed) autism.
It took a very long time to realize that I wasn't really okay. And I'm still not totally okay.
I've had to go through many, jarring realizations about 'my normal'. Losses of control and prolonged periods of anxious hyperfixation. Difficulty with connection, self image, and lacking social skills.
I should have gotten a therapist by now, a very long time ago if I'm being honest.
And it's good you're getting one/have gotten one.
So, in short, love, I'm glad you decided to share this with me. Though you may feel differently about the impulsive message later once you've processed this new information.
And I hope this brings you comfort and strength, in whatever measure you find it.
You can do this, love. You've already done the hardest part.
Now it's time for the most difficult.
Persistent pursuit of wellness.
It's not for the faint of heart, love.
But still, you will find a way through the dark.
It's only a matter of time and effort.
#mittens answers#tw: mental health#you will earn your place back in the light#the dark is cool and comforting#but it cannot be kind#you cannot grow there love#just as i could not/cannot not

Kaiju AU? But with people instead??
Okay, sooo, I’ve been doing more thinking and hyperfixating on stuff. So I have 2 thoughts atm. This is the first one because it requires a bit of explain. The other will go into the ask box because it’s a very simple idea.
—
I remember reading somewhere about if TFP did something unique with Earth being unicron or made of living metal. I also remember that the post contained something about humans being Unicron’s creations…or humanity was influenced by him somehow. So, I just had an idea that, what if humans reacted to Unicron’s energy? Like, they evolved to be subservants of Unicron and they have a unique reaction to his energy? I figured, why not have them go full on weaponized kaiju? Okay, so in brief summary. The arrival of Autobots and Decepticons to Earth trigger Unicron to cause earthquakes. These open faults that allow his energy to seep out. These are called “Unicron Powerfaults”. If an organic, human distinctly, gets close to the fault, they absorb the energy from it and grow into a powerful Kaiju.
Now, they don’t just become large people and fist-fight. They actually take on a change that enables them to become colossal techno-organics. Whatever they are wearing that is metallic/technology in nature, fuses with their bodies and becomes a weapon or armor. The Decepticons are VERY quick to notice how useful this is and they have kidnapped a set of humans to experiment on. These humans become Kaijus and attack with a goal to destroy the cities, while under the control of Decepticons. Human Kaiju’s that are under the control of Decepticons will be wearing a Tarn-like helmet and will have a large collar-like device around their neck. These are only for ‘grunt’ decepticon kaijus, however. Their 'Admin’ Kaiju’s are…special. Meanwhile, the KPO (Kaiju Protection Operations) uses the powerfaults (Or Unigems/ A gem that is infused with the energy of Unicron) to turn into Kaijus to defend the human settlements. They work very closely with Autobots to help understand what the Decepticons are doing and to protect the innocents while they do so. KPOs are specialized in combat and each Autobot is paired up with an officer in order to work together to protect the cities from the kaiju human attacks. They also help control “Kaiju Outbreaks” if a new fault opens up and kaiju civilians start running amok. However, the Decepticons also have each paired up with a 'admin’ human. In which, they are servo-picked humans and are equipped with lethal weapons and have undergone experimentation. Even when they are turned into Kaiju’s they barely resemble the humans they once were. Becoming more like metallic giant monsters than humans. Until they are either defeated or run out of Unicron’s energy. Autobots don’t really need a controlling device for their human partners. They merely keep close bonds and communication devices to help assist in battle. Some humans will even equip armor that shares similarities to their Autobot companion. Also, during battles, some Kaiju humans with certain equipment will be able to use certain elemental attacks. Like one with giant wings can stir up tornados, one equipped with certain boots can bend metal from the ground into giant spires to impale their enemy, ect. Aaaand, this is as far as I have gotten at the moment. I should draw the 'Admins’ that the Deceptcions have control over. Sorry if this was a mouthful! I’ll deposit my simpler idea in the ask box and stop rambling now.

An idea I’m drawing stuff for:
Okay so g/t sanders sides au idea but where the tiny people are actually mini android/cyborgs made to accompany people /if they want to/ as companions to humans that can connect to technology and the internet. (Medium-big sized ramble under-cut)
They arent nessesarily helpers, but they can help humans w/ technology issues if they want(and there are lots of human laws in place that prohibit forced labor and captivity from this new sentient race, but as you might guess, just bc there are laws doesnt mean everyone follows them or gets caught breaking them) the rest of the world is kinda up for development but i can tell you these tiny android people sometimes come with additional features such as tails w/ audio jacks/place where the tail would go to insert an audiojack, eyes and fingers that glow, ear type varients depending on what time they were born/created, have as many bendable joints as a human, but their legs and feet are naturally a bit thicker/wider both for balance and more room for technology in their tiny bodies.
Theyre a very intermingled mix of liveform and android(and are probably best explained as just. Straight up aliens to planet earth), to the point that theres no actual way to seperate tech from bio-matter. And theyre so tiny that trying to seperate the two on such a small scale is still scientifically impossible at this current time. Damage and wear/tear to their body can heal quickly with enough energy, rest, and time, but losing body parts can be nearly detrimental to their health if said parts cant be reattached quickly. They are not strong enough to regenerate a full limb.
It’s not an immediate death if they lose a limb, but its very much an emergency due to how spread out their bodily function sensors are in their tiny bodies. Losing a certain leg can mean losing complete mobility of both legs and balance, or losing certain patches of memory, losing a certain arm can mean losing the ability to balnce well, or go nearly sensory blind(meaning they can see things, but no longer feel them that well.) the tail is the only bodypart that is not immediately detrimental to their health, just their lifestyle. Their tail is their only way to directly connect to the online world without assistance. Without it, they rely on adapter prostetics that wear out over time and need to be replaced on occassion.
That being said, in this au, Roman, Remus, and Janus are tinies in this world. Roman and Remus are twins, and both suffered an injustice of experimentation that involved one of their legs each being removed, and being reattached(successfully) to the other’s body, as a test to see how similar twin tiny’s bodies are and if the similarities assist any in surrogate limbs attaching successfully. Theyre rescued and rehabilitated amd rehomed together before anything more was done to them, but they live life knowing they have eachothers leg and function as if said legs are really their own, and it connects them in a very odd way that they cant really explain.(it comes w/ a bonus of being able to send messages to one another, but a con of being able to see a portion of the other’s memories, be it mental, or physical muscle memory)
They live with a group of humans, Logan, Patton, and Virgil, who are aware of their situation and have welcomed them into their home to live normal tiny lives. Patton and Virgil are brothers, and Logan is their childhood bestfriend. Remus tends to travel w/ Logan the most bc Logan isnt bothered by Remus’s constant hyperfixations on dark and grusome things.(they hold alot of convos abt dark literature and anatomy, and astronomy. Remus finds Logan’s voice soothing on his semi-irratic stream of thoughts, and talking abt astonomy helps sooth Remus to sleep the fastest.) Roman clings to Virgil mostly but passes inbetween Virgil and Patton pretty frequently depending on whose at work. (Virgil and Roman bicker about everything under the sun, but it’s still healthy for them. Virgil keeps Roman’s ego in check and Roman helps Virgil gain more confidence in things, especially things in public.)
Janus is.. well, he was born.. defective, in a way. No ones really sure exactly what happened, if there were dificulties in his development, or if his existance was fused semi-incorrectly with another while in the preverbial womb, but he is born with his body being partially down the middle on one side with another set of tiny genetics, leaving 1/4th of his body from one side of the head to just below the same side’s ribs to be a different skin & metal plating color. One eye glows gold, the other a bright milky white, the same going for either hand w/ his finger-tips on the same sides. Pure snow white skin, plating, and hair is unnatural, and its theorized to be a permanent glitch in his physical coding seeing as the ‘other tiny’ that had yet to combine correctly would not have developed any physical traits until birth to mimick a combination of it’s parents, it’s physical attribute coding would remain dormant and thus not addapt with the rest of the body.
This leaves Janus visually different, and physically different. He has his own two legs and tail so that part of his body functions normally, but the arm that is inter-functionally dormant leaves him with terrible balance issues(thus leaving him to require a cane) and his on the same side that is similarly dormant leaves him functionally blind in said eye and deaf on said side.
He’s developed an extremely defensive personality because he refuses to be pitied for something he was never in control of. He’s plenty independent without help and beyond grouchy. Has been known to bite humans who try to help him but wont listen to him, hard. He’s never been allowed to live a normal tiny’s life because the parents he was born to gave him to humans to ensure he lived, then got retroactively babied since. His foul temper has lead to a difficulty in the homing process, and the humans are almost about to give up on him when Virgil walks in one day, curious about homing a third tiny to help stabalize the twins antics and frustrations born from there only being the two of them.
Janus is just as foul at first as he is to everyone who approaches him, because he fully expects pity. Instead of Virgil moving on in rejection/dismissal of the rude behavior, Virgil just chuckles in amusement. “Oh boy, you’re fiesty huh?” “Have to be, lest people think they can do and think whatever they want about me. Better to give them my worst so they don’t get any god-complex over my disability, right?” And Virgil relates, and isnt hesitant abt mentioning his own struggles w/ how rudely people treat him w/ his general anxiety disorder and chronic depression.
Virgil manages to convince Janus take a chance and come home w/ him. And then Janus meets Patton, and things go so much better than anyone expected them to go. I mean, they get worse before they get better, but the getting better is so much further than any resulted backtracking. Janus likes Patton, and is uber protective of him. No one knew Patton to bicker much, but oh boy, does he bicker with Janus, often abt taking care of one another. Its all out of love and care, and its honestly jarringly sweet. (Patton gets Janus hooked on chocolate chips, and may or may not bribe him with a bottle-lip full from time to time if it means making Janus relax.)

Wait a damn second, this is my tumblr account, I can infodump as much as I want.
Infodump on my fanfiction universe that I've been working on for three years that has been fused by a combination of multiple hyperfixations and being a special interest below the cut.
Okay so it all starts when the Daleks decide to do what Daleks do and exterminate not just one but all the universes by throwing them together with a universe collider (There's also Davros in the background using this as an opportunity to reality bomb the multiverse again). Two important things happen because of this:
1. Samus Aran becomes a spider totem
2. Darksied realizes the Triforce exists
The Daleks of course fail, because that is the other thing the Daleks are good at.
Darksied does more research into the multiverse and finds more fun omnipotence granting toys like cosmic cubes and infinity stones. He then decides to collect them all like they're Pokemon cards. The people of the universes these things are in aren't so fond of the whole part where he becomes a despotic emperor, and naturally fight back. Long story short every universe is torn to shreds, and the only way the good guys win is by taking the five remaining tardises, looping them back in time several times a la day of the doctor, hooking them up to the moment, and channeling all that power through the Three Elven rings to stitch the remains of the multiverse into one, single universe: The Oneverse.
There's a whole lot that happens in the oneverse, so today I'll focus on the Black Maelstroms.
This all starts during the clone wars for two reasons: The Separatists are pursuing an arms deal with the zebasians, and the Kaminoans need new clone templates because the Jango Fett sample is deteriorating. So the Republic sues with the Galactic Federation (not to be confused with the United Federation of Planets) and they put together a team consisting of:
Samus Aran, (this is before zero mission), who has been noted as a bit of a loose cannon
The Wanderer, who goes by the kind of reverse moniker James Lumstrom, where only those he's close to get to call him that, A Timelord and a Jedi who has also had a problem with going rogue
Turel, an Empyrean and an Iron Marine(if you've played Iron marines, you know. If not, they're aliens with high psychic abilities who are very similar to the Jedi) who is two years from retiring and has said "Fuck You" to every single one of his commanding officers at least twice
Kyra Lindela, a Mandalorian mercenary who had been trying to join the republic army for a while now and who kept one upping them when they refused
and Thacrer Krocikt, a Tusken and one of the only non-Jedi generals in the Republic army, renowned for being extremely competent and respected, but who also caused a good deal of trouble for the Senate by doing things like saying that the clones deserved rights. He was also an extremely capable pilot, on par with Anakin despite not being force sensitive. He quickly became the de-facto leader of the group, with the others submitting to him if there was a disagreement amongst them, so much so that the Kaminoans deemed that if they couldn't get a sample of him that it would be pointless to clone the others (I think the Kaminoans are big into eugenics, it's implied and I'm pretty sure it's outright cannon and they deemed the others too unpredictable without a "suitable handler")
They where each given upgraded arc trooper armor, as part of the darktrooper program (which they where given only the most basic information about) and go on several missions, all successful, and a sort of family dynamic evolves between them, Turel essentially becoming the grumpy grandparent of the group, James and Samus adopting each other as siblings, Tharcer and Kyra doing the same, but with a different dynamic (James and Samus being like two siblings close together in age, while Tharcer becomes Kyra's older brother), and Kyra and Samus begin dating. All goes well until a raid on a zebsasian base housing bio-weapons goes south, resulting in Kyra, Samus, and Lumstrom being trapped in a high-heat area used to store specimens from high temperature environments. They manage to escape, but Kyra succumbs shortly thereafter to infected blisters. They bury her in her armor. Later that night, through the Force, Lumstrom senses the destruction of Gallifrey. Wracked with guilt, as he believes he could have stopped Kyra's death by forcing a regeneration, and tortured by the grief of losing his best friend and his planet and his family in the same day he flees, teetering on the edge of a Timelord victorious breakdown. A few weeks later Tharcer does some investigation and finds out about the Kaminoans plans, including that they have been instructed to collect samples even without consent. Hoping to prevent this, he disappears into the night. Thus the project is deemed a failure and closed, though not before a sample of Samus is collected. Samus stays in the Federation Police force a while longer before leaving to become a bounty hunter, and Turel retires, mourning another lost friend.
Meanwhile, in the Mandalorian afterlife: "Fuck this. I want to propose to my girlfriend. Hey Mandalorian spirit over there, you've been here a while and probably have some pull with the higher ups. Could you get them to send me to space hell?" Kyra asked
"Are you sure you want that?" asked Mandalore the Great. "Space hell really sucks, like, the ground is made of various sized pieces of broken glass, and there's tall grasses made of razor blades, and instead of water they've got sulfuric acid, and the air is mustard gas, during the day it's hot enough that you'll get blisters and at night it's so cold you'll get frostbite. And you'll be completely naked, no armor or anything. Are you sure you want that?"
"Yes" She said. "because if I can walk out of space hell I get to come back to life"
"Okay then" said Mandalore the Great, sending her to space hell. Then it took her a year to walk out of space hell, after which she came to on earth in the in 1998.
