Do you guys ever think about Caitlyn Kiramman bleeding out in Mel’s arms, early 20’s, missing eye and cold, crying out for her mum? missing her and hoping to reunite with her?

Maybe in her haze from her wounds and unable to see properly, do you ever think she hallucinated her mother holding her instead of Mel?

I wonder if she would have been happy to see her one last time or ashamed of who she had become, seeing as she did say she hated herself at times.

What of her father? Did he even know she left for war? Did they get to speak one last time? or did he get summoned to a hospital out of nowhere because his only daughter, his last bit of family was heavily wounded and on deaths bed, unaware of what she was up to. Who she had to face. Why she allowed herself to go to such lengths, why she put herself on the front lines.

Too deep in his grief over his wife’s death to be able to face her, she who resembled her mother so much. I wonder if it pained him to look at caitlyn and that’s why she sent maddie to check on him. Something that seemed almost like routine, like she herself couldn’t let her father see what she was becoming.

I think this one, along with the Silco Poster 3, are the two drawings that took me the most time. I went crazy trying to make them look decent and had to change my mind three times about the final composition. The way Mel doesn't even flinch when Ambessa slaps her, doesn't even react. Just keeps trying to negotiate, keeps trying to get her to see reason right up until that final fight. Your mother is the only person in the world left who truly knows and loves you and yet she does not respect you.

Thinking about Cait smacking Ambessa right as she was about to give another condescending smirk and line to Mel, snapping at her to shut up and fight even with a dagger in her gut. And she would have died seconds later if it wasn't for Mel.

No one can understand what it's like being raised by Ambessa. Not anymore now that Kino is dead. The level of abuse, manipulation and genuine love all tied together is something only Mel carries with her. Cait certainly can't understand it, but she was trained for a few months at Ambessa's side, each other's shadow of a replacement for their respective mother daughter losses. And sometimes that's enough.

Sometimes the spark you need to finally heal your inner child and stand up to your mother is your feral twenty two year old baby sister in law essentially choosing to die fighting rather than bow to your mother's will. Just that one little push past the point of no return, and suddenly your mother is dead and you have killed her and she is finally, finally proud of you.

am i the only one strangely fond of these two bonding?

i just didn’t expect them to interact but it makes so much sense?

they are both two brilliant, talented guys. one coming from a place of wealth and opportunities, the other familiar with death and destruction only. two sides of the same coin.

also, i kind of want someone more mature to be there for ekko.

both him and powder lost everyone when they were children. but while she had silco before (not a good father figure but still one) and now sevika, ekko had nobody.

he had to grow up fast and learn how to live on his own. he turned out into a good, strong, clever boy. he is a leader and a defender and he’s more than capable of taking care of himself by now.

but he is in fact so young still. his father figure died when he was just a kid and no one ever filled that hole.

so, to have jayce interact with him, sharing his knowledge with him and being humbled by ekko, who shows him the brutal reality the people from zaun are forced to live in is kind of heartwarming.

i don’t know, i am just a softie when it comes to mentor/mentee-father/son-older brother/younger brother dynamics and i’ll hold tightly onto every little moment lmao.

can’t wait to see more of these two :”)
