Mini-review:

I feel like I'm one of the few people who loved the first season of Hellbound. It used an original and terrifying concept to showcase a fascinating exploration of themes like religious fanaticism, sectarianism and media manipulation. And this second (and final?) season delivers the goods once again. Yeon Sang Ho continues to be a master director of action scenes, plus the performances he gets from this cast are simply superb. On top of that, the CGI is much better than it was in the first one; I'm glad they made an effort to improve on that. I'm sure many people will stay mad at the show for refusing to give clear answers until the very end, but I think that makes the viewer feel the same chaos as the characters. If this is really the end, I have to say I really enjoyed what this dark fantasy had to offer.

It’s basically a sub-par cliche drama (might be more geared for a younger audience not sure) I would recommend watching on a rainy day maybe where you could skip around the storyline a bit. Personally I thought it should have been cut down to at least 10 episodes. There were many that drag on a lot especially the cheerleading mystery that essentially was no real mystery. It’s still an overall decent watch, but for those who hate love triangles, there’s a really terrible one in this one.

Sinopsis: Jin Moo Hak (Kim Min Jae) es el segundo hijo de una familia que dirige la firma global de franquicias de restaurantes Dondon F&B, una empresa que comenzó como un restaurante de gamjatang (estofado de huesos de cerdo). Jin Moo Hak carece de educación, pero tiene una excelente capacidad para ganar dinero. Por otro lado, Kim Dal Ri (Park Gyu Young) es investigadora visitante de una galería de arte. Ella es la única hija de una familia prestigiosa, puede hablar 7 idiomas diferentes y tiene una amena personalidad, pero no es muy buena para hacer las tareas del hogar como cocinar. Jin Moo Hak y Kim Dal Ri se conocen sin saber los antecedentes del otro y desarrollan buenos sentimientos por el otro. Más tarde, debido a la quiebra de una galería de arte, se reencuentran como hijo de una familia rica y sin educación e hija de una prestigiosa familia al borde de la bancarrota.

Dali and The Cocky Prince es el kdrama más lindo, ligero y reconfortante que vi la primera mitad del año pasado (2022). Cuando lo empecé a ver, tenia la noción que era otro rom-com ligero para pasar el rato, y sí, en cierta parte lo es, pero también es mucho mas que eso, tiene muchas enseñanzas y lecciones de vida que vamos aprendiendo a través de las experiencias de los personajes.

La química entre Kim Min Jae y Park Gyu Young está en las nubes, tanto que me atrevo a decir que es una de las parejas más lindas y tiernas de kdramaland. Su actuación estuvo en el punto y no me puedo a imaginar a otros actores perfectos para estos papeles que no sean ellos. 

El humor fue lo que más me encantó. La personalidad de Jin Moo Hak es distinta a lo que estamos acostumbradas a ver de un rico, que en los kdramas es usualmente un chaebol de 3era generación, y que en este caso es distinto, pues Moo Hak es un nuevo rico. Y debo decir que es ver a alguien así es refrescante en el mundo de los kdramas. Los personajes peculiares y la historia lograban romper los estereotipos de rom-com de los kdramas. 

Los 16 capítulos estuvieron muy distribuidos. No se sintió lento al inicio, ni apresurado al final. Todo estuvo en la velocidad correcta... ¿y lo mejor?

No hubo triángulo amoroso y no hubo periodo de ruptura. LO QUE DEMUESTRA QUE UN KDRAMA NO NECESITA DE ESTOS ELEMENTOS PARA SER ENTRENIDO Y TENER 16 CAPÍTULOS.

Una última cosa que me gusté y aprecié de los escritores es que no se olvidaron de los pequeños detalles -no tan pequeños- que usualmente son parte de porqué la pareja principal se acerca en primer lugar. Como es usual, para el episodio 16 creí que habían olvidado o ignorado completamente este artículo/detalle, pero no, no me decepcionaron incluso al final.

Bu dizi bana biraz “Find Me in Your Memory” dizisini andırdı. Bunun nedeni belki erkek başrolün aynı oyuncu olması, belki de psikolojik hikaye temelli olması olabilir, bilmiyorum. Kötü değildi, hatta bence diğerinden bir tık daha iyiydi diyebilirim. Yine de hatırda kalan çarpıcı bir hikaye olmadığını da baştan söyleyeyim.

Dizi; Kang Da-Jeong(Seo Hyun-Jin)’u yaşadığı binaya psikiyatri kliniği açarak komşu gelen Ju Young-Do(Kim Dong-Wook)’nun aralarındaki arkadaşlığı konu ediyor. Yanlış anlamalar ve tanışma fazlı ile başlayan hikayemiz ikilinin birbirlerinin dünyalarını tanıması ile devam eder. Hayattan bir kesit gibi başlayan ama aynı zamanda çok basit olduğunu düşünüp gereksiz aksiyonda ekledikleri, bol bol duygusal gerilim serpilmiş ama yumuşak havasından çıkamamış bir hikayeydi. 

Ju Young-Do geçmişten gelen travmaları olan bir psikiyatristtir. Terzi kendi söküğünü dikemez mantığı ile yıllardır kendi sorunları ile uğraşmaktadır. Kişisel hayatındaki bu çalkantı bir yana mesleğinde başarılı bir doktordur. Ofisini taşıdığı bu binadaki yeni komşusu ona başka kapılar açar. Kang Da-Jeong ise mükemmel bir hayat yaşıyormuş gibi görünen yönetici pozisyonunda başarılı bir kadındır. Ancak onun da geçmişten gelen çözemediği bir iç dünyası vardır. İşte bu noktada da iki içten bozuk insanın birbirlerine çekilmesini izliyoruz. Psikiyatrimiz aynı zamanda boşanmış, eski karısı da oyuncudur. Ama aslında karı kocadan çok hasta doktor ilişkileri vardır. Ayrıca eski karısı Ahn Ga-Yeong(Nam Gyu-Ri) da oldukça sevimli bir karakterdi.

Apartmanda yaşan diğer kişilerde yavaş yavaş hikayeye dahil olmaya başlayınca iyice dizinin içine girmeye başlıyorsunuz. Aşırı sakin, şimdi ne düşündü bu diye sizi dürtükleyen biraz izleyiciyi de psikolojik olarak etkileme yolunda anlatım dili kullanmışlar. Yan karakterlerle biraz daha derinlik katmaya çalışmışlarsa da kafanızda hepsini aynı kazana koyamıyorsunuz. Bazıları çok da lazım değilmiş gibiydi.

Bölümler ilerledikçe farklı gizemler, geçmişten gelen gölgeler hikayenin üzerinden geçiyor. Yakınlaşan çift için duygusal yeni testler çıkıyor derken bir de diziye gerilim unsuru ekliyorlar. Bir yanda kendi içsel huzurunu ve gücünü bulmaya çalışırlarken bir yandan da fiziksel olarak kendilerini korumak zorunda kaldıkları durumlar çıkıyor. Benim şahsi düşüncem buna gerek olmadığı yönündeydi.

Kadın oyuncuyu güzel bulmasam da başarılı olduğu düşünüyorum. Daha önceki dizilerinde de rollerinin hakkını hep vermişti. Yine de hiç yakınlık hissedemiyorum. İkili olarak beni rahatsız etmediler. Yani hani ne çok yakıştırdım ne de yakıştırmadım diyemem, öyle bir ikilem işte. The Beauty Inside dizisindeki rol arkadaşı Lee Min-Ki ile çok daha fazla yakıştırmıştım.

Kısacası, izleyici olarak kafa göz yarmadan sakin sessiz izlenebilecek bir diziydi.
