Wait
When is the ssw for emmerdale. I
know Ian used to give out spoilers like crazy noe he is back do we know the what the theme is about.
Danny coming back after the team was so done with them during the covid era makes ZERO sense but he also has a kid and I can't even blame him for wanting an stable job. Even if is this. He has not control over any of this after all.
But the fucking use of "a prodigal son" over that guy makes me so mad.
The next thing is that every single Dingle will adore him and have xmas eith him as if Robert is not the reason Aaron is still alive.
I hate it so much. Is like the open the wounds that we all have and people are more than ever asking about why ROBERT is not back instead of this.
It does feel like John is reboot-Robert minus everything special Ryan added to the character plus the great writing he got back then (thanks Maxine).
As for this year's super soap week, I don't think anything has been announced yet. The only thing that is known so far is that a major portion of the cast has filmed scenes concerning a big barn fire a few weeks ago (apparently John saves Moira and Ruby's lives, i dont remember more than that, only that Charity, Cain and Chas will be there too, which fits in with what you said about John being welcomed by the Dingles later on lol).
The thing is, I'm not sure whether the filming dates of the barn fire will match with ssw or if the barn fire will be a prelude to whatever happens then? It was also announced that Nate's actor will leave the show, so some people suspect he will die in those ssw eps, and there's also talk of something big happening with belle&tom, though according to the latest interview with one of the producers, their coercive control story will run until the end of the year.
I'm still looking forward to whatever comes, mainly bc John's actor said there were many twists and turns to come and every news piece leading up to his arrival mentioned a return of the Sugdens, so I believe John's appearance is only the start. Maybe Diane will return, maybe some Sugden-adjacent characters like the Merricks, or even Kathy Glover like some rumours suggested.
I've read a few theories recently about how John isn't actually Jack's son but rather the son of Jack's brother Joe, since Joe was romantically linked to John's alleged mother Barbara and also Karen Moore (who was also Jack's girlfriend for a time) which might explain the Aiden Moore dogtags.
Tbh, if John's character wasn't so dull and his romance with Aaron so contrived, I think we would all be having a wonderful time right now. Unfortunately, we gotta work with what we have. Plus the absence of hermit Hawley 😔🙄

Come Adventure With Me
Lyrics and music Marc Gunn
There's a secret door to a hall unknown Inside are fears that Turn me to stone Do I step forward Or head back home Which is the path for me I raise my head and Take one step more The ground it shakes. I look back to the door Feel like I’m caught and stuck to the floor And so I cut myself free
* This world’s a treasure that is full of strife Every moment can enrich your life Just face your dragons with the edge of a knife It’s a better life you see Come adventure with me.
There are ugly goblins doing scary things Deep down in dungeons there are magic rings Live or die with the riddles we bring You’ll find your way through the dark My Precious life Has so many memories Fluttering birds, butterflies in trees My home is comfort, comfort is a breeze But there’s another way to live
So many wars. It’s an endless fight To slay our dragons that soar through our night But I’m no coward. I’ll do what is right. Before I make my way home. Now I’m back with stories that ring A truth That soars up on eagle wings Let’s not forget the songs elves sing Oh the joy that they bring!

381. It Came From the Daily Show: one episode from October 1999, and one from November, 1999
(August & September)
October 26, 1999
Headlines: A Time to Kill Brain Cells
“Do you like origami?” Jon also embarrassed an Atlanta Braves fan in the audience.
Matthew McConaughey was arrested when officers in Texas were called to a public disturbance call. Matthew was high playing bongos, naked, while another man danced. Matthew said it was a nice stay in jail.
Field Piece: Live! Without Regis and Kathie Lee - Stacey Grenrock-Woods investigates turmoil among fans of Regis & Kathie Lee. Is it just me, or does it feel like sometimes that Regis is still on TV with Kathie Lee? I can’t believe its been almost 20 years since Kathie Lee left Regis—and its been nearly 10 or so years since Regis left.
So, the Regis & Kathie Lee fan club no longer exists. Oh, no. btw, the Barbara Mandrell fan club also broke up a while back.
MILLENNIAL MOMENT - GENERATION DEADLINE - a quick parody of all the books that came out at the end of the year, marking the beginning of the millennium.
This just in: Fight Cub -
--but first, Jon pulled an eyelid muscle winking at us —
“Bear wrestles man, wins coveted pic’nic basket.” This guy, Randy Miller a wrestling promoter was promoting a wrestling match between Dakota the bear, and Dominc Renaldi, an idiot. Miller thinks its fun for the bear to fight.
Other News: Smack to School - a professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice was awarded a grant to study heroin use. He used the 2.6 million dollars for cd’s, vacations, and …. heroin for himself. oops.
Other clips:
Al Up in That - Hotel Parking http://www.cc.com/video-clips/lbp6z8/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-al-up-in-that---hotel-parking
Interview: Louie Anderson: http://www.cc.com/video-clips/ksd7vn/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-louie-anderson
November 4, 1999 — I uploaded it to YouTube!
I wanted to include a picture of my bedroom at this time, but I couldn’t find one, so here’s what I got for Christmas in 1999.
This one gives me all the feels for the year 1999. I can totally picture myself sitting in my childhood bedroom watching this episode. Thing is, I don’t think that Daily Show was repeating on the weekends anymore at this point, and that was the only time I ever saw the show, unless I had a day off school and could watch the 10 am repeat.
First, this amazing promo for Comedy Central with Bebe Neuwrith and Lewis Black, and he’s holding her purse.
Headlines: “A Glover and a Fighter” - “Danny Glover can’t hail cab, claims ‘Riggs, I’m getting too old for this’.” He saw five cabs in Harlem! Cab driver disagrees and says that he doesn’t refuse cab rides b/c “he’s on the duty”.
There’s a joke that Danny was on his way to record a “buckle up” recording for the New York Taxi and Limo commission when he wasn’t picked up. Vance DeGeneres does a recreation — which totally wouldn’t fly today.
Lowdown Dirty Seamus - Irish people offended by NBC’s “Leprechauns” miniseries. Rightfully so, they showed the ad over and over again during the World Series. I found one here during this Thursday night lineup set of commercials.
“Vance DeGeneres discusses people getting offended by Harry Potter” - “The Harry Potter series is popular as hell, and just as evil.” Is anything safe anymore? Green Eggs & Ham: gangsta rap. Goodnight moon, goodnight moral standards.
Other News: Live and Let Dive - Boxing taunted with fraud, boxers admit they’ve thrown fights. Nice Lean Mean Grilling Machine reference.
Interview: Roshumba Williams the supermodel, who came with her book “The Complete Dummies Guide to Becoming a Model”, which is in high standing for most 90s book ever. There’s a copy currently over at archive.org : https://archive.org/details/completeidiotsgu0000will_k0t0
This Just In: Spines Like Us: oldest vertebrae found in China.
The Public Excess segment is missing from my copy, but Comedy Central has us, for once. Pet the entertainer has a museum of sex? Ostaro the psychic tells Hillary to sleep on it, when concerning her senate run.
“It’s a good grill!”

Superman Fancast:Last Son Of Krypton
With the success of The Batman, I’d love a similar treatment for Superman
my other DC fancasts
DCEU Recast
Batman
Wonder Woman
The Flash
Green Lantern
Aquaman
Green Arrow
Justice League
Teen Titans
Justice League Dark
Batman Beyond
The Dark Knight Returns
Telltale’s Batman
Injustice
Legion Of Doom
Birds Of Prey
Few things I wanna say before we continue with the fancast.
Metropolis. You know how Batman adaptations make Gotham very distinct with a broody atmosphere and Gothic architecture? We need the same energy for Metropolis. Metropolis should look bright, shining and borderline futuristic. Metropolis should have a proper 50's retro-futurism vibe. Long monorails, golden shiny buildings, rounded glass penthouses
Director. Ideally I would say Brad Bird, George Miller or Matthew Vaughn
Reason for reboot. WB still has no idea on what they want to do with Superman or if Henry will even still be attached. Also another reason for why I want this hypothetical reboot is this video
youtube
David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent
Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane
Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olson
Sydney Sweeney as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El
Ross Lynch as Superboy/Connor Kent/Kon-El

NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps to become first Black woman to join an International Space Station crew
NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps will join astronauts Sunita Williams and Josh Cassada as a crew member on the first operational flight of Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS), the agency announced Tuesday. The six-month expedition, which is planned to launch in 2021, will make Epps the first Black woman to live and work in space for an extended period of time.
“Jeanette Epps is the natural addition to NASA’s Boeing Starliner-1 mission,” Kathy Lueders, associate administrator for human exploration and operations at NASA headquarters, tells CNBC Make It in a statement. “She fully complements the other members of the first Boeing full duration crewed mission.”
Epps responded to her new assignment in a Twitter video, saying she’s “looking forward to the mission” alongside Williams and Cassada.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Epps earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from LeMoyne College in 1992. In 1994, she earned a master’s degree in science from the University of Maryland, College Park and in 2000 she earned a doctorate degree from the same school in aerospace engineering. She worked seven years as a CIA technical intelligence officer before being selected to NASA’s 2009 astronaut class, according to the agency’s site.
Her new assignment in space comes two years after she was was first tapped to become an ISS crew member aboard a Russian spacecraft, which would have made her the first Black astronaut, man or woman, on an extended space mission. But, at the last minute Epps, who had already trained for her role, was removed from the assignment without any explanation by NASA. Her brother, Henry Epps, blamed racism as the reason for his sister’s removal, but Epps told The Washington Post in 2018 that she could not comment on her brother’s remarks or the reason for the last-minute crew change.
NASA responded to the accusations of racism being a factor by saying, “Diversity and inclusion are integral to mission success at NASA and we have a diverse astronaut corps reflective of that approach.”
Epps’ new ISS mission in 2021 will follow astronaut Victor Glover’s six-month ISS mission which is scheduled to launch no earlier than Oct. 23 of this year, which will make him the first Black male astronaut to go into space for an extended amount of time.
Though Epps and Glover are both set to make history as crew members on extended space missions, they are not the first Black astronauts to visit the ISS. NASA confirms that six Black Americans have visited the space station in the past, including Stephanie Wilson who has visited three times.

It's here! DECAHEDRON is now live!
June 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of Artists on the Lam. Celebrate with us!
It was on Monday, June 6, 2011, that I published my first post on what would later be voted “Best Arts Blog” in the Chicago Reader’s Best of Chicago issue.
As part of the celebration, I've curated an international exhibition called DECAHEDRON.
Knowing from the start that this would be virtual, I wanted to involve more artists than I would for any physical show, as a way to truly take advantage of having an online platform (when getting interviewed about 2020’s acclaimed SLAYSIAN, one point that kept coming up was the silver lining of being able to exhibit bonus pieces as digital exclusives), and to truly fit a milestone anniversary.
I invited all artists from past shows, invited other artists I admired but hadn’t exhibited yet (likening the process to an episodic TV series where you wander the land embarking on different adventures and meeting different characters, and then in the end you go back and revisit all your old friends and ask them to be part of your heist), and—in keeping with the nature of Artists on the Lam group shows—put out an open call for artists too. Past, present, and future are all intertwined.
The result? A show with 74 artists, with over 350 works of art.
Hailing from all over Chicago, the country, and the world, DECAHEDRON's participating artists include:
Adrienne L. Glover (@a-glorious-art), Adrienne Powers, Agnieszka Ligendza, Alba Margarita (@albamargaritaart), Alex Kostiw, Alix Anne Shaw, Allen Vandever, Angie Redmond, Brianna Lynn Hernández Baurichter, Bruce Riley, Caroline Walser, Carrie McGath, Céline Browning, Chad Kouri (@chadkouri), Charlene Moy, CHema Skandal!, Chris Silva (@lovercraft).
