its very funny to me if francois and gilbert are the same height for all intents and purposes but gilbert is one (1) centimeter taller. like. it doesn't matter in practical terms. you can't tell when they stand next to each other especially because francois has curly hair and sometimes wears heels. but they both know its there, that single, awful centimeter, and gilbert WILL make a thing about it

The thing about the whole "Ludovika wants to force her daughter to marry a Duke twice her age" plot is that it makes no sense if Helene is already promised to the emperor. Like why is she giving her younger daughter such a terrible match for no reason??

If they wanted an arranged marriage plot to make Ludovika uncaring and cruel and Elisabeth Not Like The Other Girls, it was right in front of them: Maximilian!! Like the plot could've been that Ludovika takes Sisi to Ischl so she meets the emperor's younger brother and then they also can become engaged, to which Elisabeth is all "no you won't force me to marry someone I don't want!!!" Then the rest of the episode could've played out exactly like it did.
