This is what happens when you elect Democrats- no talking points lifted from the Third Reich, no constant whining and lying on Xitter, no coup attempts.
Just steady, competent governance that no, may not fix everything all at once, but does keep the country running while making life meaningfully and measurably better for the working class.

Trump literally said this tonight. At this point I don’t give a flying fuck how you feel about VP Harris, we all need to get up off our asses and vote to stave off fascism cause it’s fucking here. HE DOESN’T WANT US TO VOTE ANYMORE. EVER.
PS this doesn’t mean we can’t have fun organizing and canvassing for her, I just want us to stay laser focused and determined and know what we’re up against. One of the Kamala Harris for the People campaign slogans in 2019 was #joyfulwarrior and I just feel like that sums up her and us so well. So let’s fucking go WIN this thing and send orange shitler into hiding once and for all.

The Harris campaign released a statement full of Taylor Swift references after Donald Trump declared he hates her:
''Mr. Not-at-all Fine has spent this week working through his feelings, whining about his Champagne Problems, and spending exactly none of his time addressing the issues facing the American people. His rambling, yelling, and constant conspiracy theories have many asking if The Man is ''too emotional'' to be president. Call It What You Want, but it's Nothing New for the Smallest Man Who Ever Lived. […] Voters know All Too Well how dangerous Trump and his Project 2025 agenda will be if he wins. This November, we can make sure this is The Last Time we have to deal with his End Game of jacking up taxes on the middle class and ripping away American's freedoms.''

Vice President Kamala Harris ending her speech with this hopeful message:
“To the young people who are watching, it is okay to feel sad and disappointed, but please know it’s going to be okay. On the campaign, I would often say, when we fight, we win. But here’s the thing, here’s the thing, sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win. That doesn’t mean we won’t win.
The important thing is, don’t ever give up. Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever stop trying to make the world a better place. You have power. You have power, and don’t you ever listen when anyone tells you something is impossible because it has never been done before.
You have the capacity to do extraordinary good in the world. And so to everyone who is watching, do not despair. This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves.
This is a time to organize, to mobilize and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together. Look, many of you know, I started out as a prosecutor, and throughout my career, I saw people at some of the worst times in their lives, people who had suffered great harm and great pain and yet found within themselves, the strength and the courage and the resolve to take the stand, to take a stand, to fight for justice, to fight for themselves, to fight for others. So let their courage be our inspiration. Let their determination be our charge.
And I’ll close with this, there’s an adage and historian once called a law of history, true of every society across the ages, the adage is, only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.
I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time, but for the benefit of us all, I hope that is not the case. But here’s the thing, America, if it is, let us fill the sky with the light of a billion brilliant stars, the light of optimism, of faith, of truth and service.
And may that work guide us, even in the face of setbacks toward the extraordinary promise of the United States of America, I thank you all. May God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America. I thank you all.”

Some things to do if you live in the United States as a queer person or a woman:
Learn self defense. You don't know whether someone will harm you. The idea that someone might is not far-fetched.
Stock up on contraceptives. Shelf life of plan B is four years. See this list for information about condom shelf life. These may become banned.
Buy queer books. As many as you can afford, starting with trans books. These may be banned soon.
Stock up on HRT medication if possible. This will likely be quickly banned when Trump becomes president. HRT meds have a shelf life of 1-3 years depending on the kind; check on the container! Read about DIY HRT here.
Read about what Trump and his followers are planning to do about abortion and other reproductive healthcare (i.e. contraception, etc.).
Read about what Trump and his followers plan to do about trans healthcare and rights for same-sex couples (I say same-sex instead of same-gender because they don't care about gender).
Teach your children (if you have any), siblings, friends, family, and especially other queer people and other women around you.
If you are too afraid to remain in danger, register for a passport as soon and look into countries you could move to. Look at what you'll have to do for jobs, living, a visa, citizenship, etc.
You may want to stock up on educational materials about prejudice, slavery, Native people, and other materials that may be censored.
As a reminder: This won't necessarily become a necessity. But based on the many things Trump and his supporters have said about the issue mentioned within this list, these actions will, unfortunately, probably be needed. Don't avoid taking these actions until it's too late. Do these before it's too late. Start now.

This election isn't looking great now.
BUT.
There is one thing you must ALWAYS. ALWAYS REMEMBER.
Your two greatest, most powerful weapons against evil, against bigotry and fascism, against hate, against even hate that comes from inside the self...
are Hope, and Spite.
If nothing else can fuel you, let these. Embrace these. Let these consume you, let them become all that you are.
Let Hope help you find light in the little details, silver linings to cling onto with bleeding hands and pockets of joy to admire in every day. Let it inject you with good faith, motivation to spread kindness where it is needed most, and deepening trust that this won't last forever.
Let Spite charge you with fury that carries you to make moves and take actions. Let it lead you to little victories right in the face of evil. Let it fuel you to do the strongest, most meaningful thing you can possibly do in this potential age: Thrive.
With enough reframing of perspectives and looking in the right places, even the most oppressed can find little ways to thrive in their personal communities, to find joy in every day. To forget how bad things are for even a second. To believe and see proof that they can change it all. To cling onto their Hope and Spite.
And THAT is the most powerful message you can send to those who wish to eradicate you.
We are the cockroaches who survive the radiation. We are the banged-up sewer rats who get in countless scuffles and still come crawling out of the tunnels covered in wounds to see the sunrise. For it rises every day no matter what may be brewing underneath its shine.
And we will watch every sunrise together. We will hold hands and sing in our defiance. We will always remain connected through our shared suffering and yet especially our shared Strength.
And with our weapons kept at our sides, we will all make it.

To all the women, people of colour and different cultures in America, I’m deeply sorry for the outcome of this election.
I’m not even American, and so I can’t begin to imagine the fear, pain, resentment, oppression and all other complex emotions you must be feeling. This is truly a horrible result, and I’m not going to lie and say I think this chapter of americas history will be good or easy.
All I can offer is my absolute empathy and the fact that my inbox is always open. Don’t take this out on yourself: you did the best you could, and are doing the best you can and so many others did too.
I know it’s not today, and I know it’s hard to hope, and it’s easy for me to say when I’m removed from this awful situation you’re facing. But one day, all the fighting you did and that you continue to do and that you will do will change something. It will.
And until then, however I can I’m here to support any of you and hope that you can stay strong however you can. I hope you’re feeling better or that you can soon.

This sucks. This really really sucks. But, once we’ve taken our time to cry, and accept what is coming. We can’t give up. We’re about to face a whole lot of challenges. But all these challenges have been faced before. And when you look back, it was scary for them too, but they moved forward because when things got bad they didn’t give up. We can’t give up. It’s gonna be hard, but we have to stay strong no matter what. For those who have gone before us. For those with us now. And for those who will follow behind us. We can’t give up now, we may have lost this battle but the war rages onward, and we must rage with it.
