Space Age takes a different stab at Jonathan and Martha as parents, in a way that I think is very interesting. Jonathan is portrayed as critical of Clark (for a reason, but), and there's a panel after his death of Clark and Jon:

Space Age is a comic set in one of the worlds culled during Crisis on Infinite Earths, but I'm always interested in the different ways comics portray Jonathan and Martha Kent because of their status as kind of the perfect parents. But it's interesting to consider and explore the ways Clark's upbringing also effects him in more complicated ways.

Thinking about the whole "Jon is very similar to how Jonah was when he was younger." idea. That shit makes me go crazy. Here is the most selfish person ever who will leave anyone to die if it means he stays alive. And here is someone who is on a dangerous path to becoming exactly this, and the biggest difference between them is whether or not they're fine with sacrificing people. Like Jon is willing to hurt people to help himself. He will be horribly ashamed but he will do it and enjoy it. Jon will hurt so many people and it will make him feel safe and powerful and like he's finally not the helpless little kid watching someone die. But Jon will not ever let one of his assistants get hurt, no matter how horrible they are to him. Being in a position where there are countless people he cannot save is literally the worst nightmare the apocalypse could give him. He would steal someone's autonomy and humanity to save them, because they made him feel better once years ago. Thinks about how this is what Jonah tries to get him to stop doing specifically. Using an example of his own decision to leave someone behind in the lonely? Which. Idk, something about the idea of Jonah seeing himself in Jon makes that idea very interesting to me. It also makes "Do you want me to go in after him." "No, YOU want you to go in after him." Very interesting. I don't have coherent thoughts right now but like. Do you get where I'm going with this. Do you see it.

The asoiaf fandom is WILD! Why am I seeing so many posts absolutely condemning Rhaegar and asserting that "JON IS NOTHING LIKE HIM!!!" and that Jon inherited no qualities from his bio father and that he'd just hate and deny all his Targ connections?

This in itself is wild enough, but the truly crazy part is how many comparisons and parallels there are drawn between Jon and CATELYN instead! Posts about Jon being a 'hater' like Catelyn and having her traits and sharing parallels with her and wanting her love and validation?? Posts about him recreating a NedCat romance with an certain character?? CATELYN? The lady who emotionally abused him his whole live?? Who told him that he should have been crippled?? Who made him feel that she begrudged his every bite, that he wasn't allowed to outperform Robb, that his very existence was unwanted?? Who did her best to send a fucking 14yr Jon away for life to the point Ned Stark called her "damnably cruel"?? Who took away any chance he had at having a home??? That woman????

Pls keep your grubby hands away from Jon. He will learn about his parents, Rhaegar and Lyanna. He will get in touch with his Targ side through Dany and Bloodraven. He will learn about Lyanna from Howland. And he will eventually understand his true identity, that he's a Targ and a Stark. And what's more, he is the blue rose who shares traits with Rhaegar (able, that above all, determined, dutiful, single-minded) and Lyanna (protective, kind, fierce) and shares NOTHING with Catelyn Tully.

Then, they have Jon and Damian babysitting wonder woman’s daughter for *checks books* 7 years????? Making Damian and Jon 21 and 24 respectively??? Ok…?

Then, they do Beastworld, and Nightwing comics, AND Superman comics AND Wonder Woman issues with Jon in ALL OF THEM at the SAME TIME and looking vastly different in all of them, with vastly different characterizations, none of them solid, consistent, or acknowledging the fact that he’s been trapped inside a volcano and travelling the multiverse and having a boyfriend all in the same breath.

What am I supposed to be believing right now, DC.

I don't know the name for the technique but there's this thing that was in there that's the string players, like, tapping the instrument with the bow to create a more percussive sound and normally I wouldn't think too much of it but I swear to god it sounded like creeping spider legs. During the case set at Hill Top Road. With the very obvious references to the Buried and the Stranger and all the rest. Which dropped about a hundred Achives references including Jon's fucking name???

I have always respected the soundscaping they do at Rusty Quill but they're really going above and beyond for this show.

Melanie is tiny and Swedish. Basira's family is from France. Sasha is chubby and Black. Elias is still just white middle aged management. Georgie is unidentifiably mixed race with gorgeous black hair. Daisy is literally anything but blonde
