honestly the Merlin fandom is so lucky that one of, if not the longest, fics in the fandom is actually, genuinely, incredibly good. i don't think there's another fandom I've been in where the longfics are consistently good. im guessing student prince is one of the most kudosed and it deserves it but ALSO. the fact that we really got a million+ words of IN CHARACTER well-written plot and conflict and drama and humor and good dialogue... man. loaded march forever the goat. top 3 fics of all time

Idk about you guys but I’m kind of living for this trend in the YA/NA fantasy space of not giving names to mysterious and dangerous characters (primarily antagonists) and instead giving them ominous titles. For example: What Waits (Realm Breaker series) and The Man with the Three Eyed Crown (A Crown of Ivy and Glass)
