I was gonna write myself a birthday one shot but the world is against me today so have the teaser version I put in the discord chat instead.

Season 4 AU time travel fic where Steve gets thrown back to the moment in family video when Dustin and Max show up demanding the phones. Previously he was 5 years into a grueling apocalypse.

Steve immediately just bolts to the phone in Keith's office and rats Eddie's location out to the police. If the police throw him in a cell and THEN Fred dies, they won't have much to hold Eddie on.

He'll let Vecna kill Patrick, too, if it clears Eddie's name.

I'll write and post eventually but that day is not today.

#IT'S SO WEIRD I HATE IT I HATE IT SO FCKING MUCH #I've had this weird relationship with numbers for years but it's gotten so much worse #I'm so obsessed with even numbers and odd numbers likeeee #I have even days and odd days?? that's what I call them anyways #where on even days everything has to involve even numbers and on odd days everything has to involve odd numbers #like those are my safe numbers for those days #and if I use the wrong number on the wrong day something bad will happen so I have to.I guess?? neutralize it?? somehow..#usually I figure out how in the moment but other times I just panic #likee for example today's an (I'm assuming) even day right now. so I have to have my tv volume on an even number #I have to eat an even number of food today #I CANNOT rb something on tumblr if I'm not on an even numbered reblog or I'm not an even numbered note... that makes no sense lemme explain #so I always have to like posts I reblog it's a rule I have for some reason. so in order for me to reblog a post #I have to land on an even number when I rb it #so for example if a post has 172 notes I'll like it which'll give it 173 notes then I'll rb which'll give it 174 notes #but if the post already has 173 notes before I liked it then I'll just like and not rb bcz if I rb it'll be 175 notes #which lands on an odd number and ahasbdhfbdsfaedw #it's the same for odd days just vice versa (it'd have to be on 177 though bcz 5 is an unsafe number for me rn)#YEAH 100% unsafe numbers for me are 3 5 6 and 9 and any number involving those numbers (so 26 and 13 are still unsafe)#basically no matter if it's an even day or an odd day I cannot land on anything with those numbers #and if I don't follow these rules my brain made up then something awful will happen or my day will go bad #or something I wanna do won't go well #thess numbers apply to EVERYTHING. and and it's SO ANNOYINGGGG. Monopoly’s banned in the house. They all played it once and it went so horrible that they’re not even allowed to bring it up because it starts arguments.

Also this is another one because I just like to yap.

I love me the one where they all have their own ways to show that they’re safe when comms are down or they just need to communicate and it’s like they each have their own little call. I’ve seen two different versions of this one where they had animal calls and one where they all had their own numbers and when something happened they’d yell their numbers in order.

been thinking about bruce being lost in time and going from era to era remembering nothing of his past lives other than eyes of a colour he can't quite describe. he doesn't know the man that they belong to. there's this weird sense of familiarity there, this niggling feeling that makes him drift towards him, but he never even finds out the man's name. and yet every life he lives, the man is there, never changing, never aging.

and then he gets home and finds alfred and looks him in the eyes and-- they're the same eyes. the same colour he's never seen on anybody else.

alfred looks at him like he knows. like he knows what bruce has been through, like he's known this moment would come, like he knows exactly what he's supposed to do and yet has no idea where to go from here.

and bruce can do nothing but hold him, but be held by him. by this man who has always been there for him. by this man who seemingly isn't much of a man after all.

#this was also in my drafts but i saw another post about eldritch alfred #the one i just reblogged #and suddenly added onto this was bruce finding out that alfred didn't start aging until bruce was born #because that was when alfred starting using more power #to protect bruce and then also his collection of kids and allies #but none more so than bruce #and that's the actual reason for bruce's 'plot armour'#it's alfred always giving bruce just the right amount of luck. always bringing him back from the brink of death.#but even the powerful have a limit #and then there's the whole thing of alfred eventually being killed #and bruce knowing that alfred was only vulnerable enough for that to happen because of how deeply he had protected bruce #oh and also. alfred transferring the last of his magic to bruce in the moments before his death as one last way to keep him safe #and now suddenly bruce (who was already oddly magical) has all this power that he needs to learn to live with #i'm never going to get around to writing this but my god i want to #i always feel the need to apologise when the tags go on too long #which is stupid. this is my post. why am i sorry.#alfred pennyworth #bruce wayne #batman
