What I use (and recommend) for my intramuscular injections

a 2ml syringe

a 20g 40mm / 1½" needle to draw the oil from the vial into the syringe

a 27g 20mm / ¾" for injecting the oil into the muscle

(people with a thicker fat layer in their skin might need a longer needle to reach the muscle tho!)

Does anyone else have a bad reaction to injecting their own T? I'm on IM sustanon and it doesn't happen every time but I usually get full body sweats, bad nausea, and lightheaded.

It might be anxiety but it feels awful and makes me dread the next time

One tip I learned as a young kid that I use now for my IM injections is to relax the muscle I'm injecting into make it as painless as possible. The idea behind this is that when your muscles are less tense (i.e., when it is relaxed), the needle will have an easier time penetrating into it to administer medicine.

Here's how I, personally, relax my muscles for injection:

Put on music or a YouTube video that piques my interest

Make sure I am focused on exactly what I'm doing to ease my anxiety; basically, being intentional and mindful

Sit myself down since I inject into the thigh, then slightly position my foot further than I normally would when I sit

Jiggle my thigh a bit before prepping it with an alcohol wipe (I don't know why, but this helps me so much)

Take a deep breath before injection, making sure the injection needle is at a 90° angle

Look away! (helps because I have very shaky hands that get worse when I look at what Im doing. Do check on your progress as you push the plunger down, but I find I don't have to look to know now)

This will be different than if you do SQ injections, so this is geared toward folks who are doing IM. These tips are things I find, personally, to be helpful, and so I implore anybody reading to realistically explore if it would work for yourself.

I don't regret changing careers because I need money to live but I there are so many things I loved and miss about being a vet tech. my coworkers and the animals are one thing but there were so many skills I was learning that I will now lose or never get good at because I will never use them again. I'm never going to take another x-ray ever again probably ever in my life

I do not love when the needle goes into my thigh like a rust knife lovingly slipped into an overstuffed garbage bag; nor do I love the feeling of puncturing a cling-wrap membrane 3/4" beneath the surface of my skin.

It is necessary, yes; but necessity is not love. It is an unpleasant task that lingers like cleaning fluid's putrid floral perfume.

GOD i need to get on T already but if I do and get the injection kind that will be my third injection medication (fourth if you count the IV the neuro insists on giving me with my ajovy for my low BP (girl it's a losing battle)) which is honestly objectively hilarious atp
