If you’re someone who says testosterone gel “doesn’t work,” please stop saying that.

It’s not true whatsoever. I get that not everyone has the same reactions to it and some people don’t fully absorb it but it has worked wonders for me. It has improved my life x10. I used to struggle and DREAD doing my weekly testosterone shot.

The night before I was going to start gel, I decided to go on Reddit to see what people were saying about gel because I had no experience with it. All I saw was people talking about how it “doesn’t work.” It was hurtful to see all that shit. So please stop saying these things.

Hi hi love the information you give!! /gen ehm I have a question about T gel!! so I'm autistic, bad sensory issues with gels and creams etc. but I also have a worse fear of injections and all that jazz so it's looking like T gel will be my only option in the future and I was wondering if you have any insight on what it feels like on the skin? does it stay sticky or wet after being rubbed in?? not forced to answer at all, just wondering :D

the gel is alcohol based, so a lot of it evaporates after sitting on the skin for a bit. once it's rubbed all the way in, it is no longer wet, but it is a bit sticky. not much. you can easily wash the residue off your hand if you're not using gloves, and covering the area with a shirt, jacket, etc. should take care of the slight sticky feeling

Voice cracks are NOT the same as normal voice cracks. It just feels like the absence of sound rather than a crack?? And, at least for me personally, it's worse when trying to sing than it is when speaking. But don't worry! You'll have plenty of cracking while speaking too!! 😀

Speaking of singing, there is gonna be a point in time where you just can't really sing comfortably because your voice is not low enough for songs but also cannot physically go higher. So you're just kind of stuck in a very limited range.

But also! For some, testosterone can make acne better!! Me, personally, it hasn't been bad at all. Just confused about the shoulder pimples.

Would a small article on transdermal testosterone (tgel) be interesting?

Maybe comparing the difference between the gels and the traditional way of intramuscular injection.

Also, just a side note about testosterone. It is important to have your hormone levels checked (blood work) in a periodic manner so you stay in the safe or your discussed levels. If you are still working on finding your correct dosing, please be sure to keep on top of your blood work. It is important for many reasons; blood pressure, blood thickness, too high levels can even increase your possibility of a stroke. Lower levels or fluctuations can cause mood swings, depression, irritability. So be sure to keep yourself safe and check your levels periodically, even if you have been on the same dose for years.

Thank you so much for answering the question about tgel, glad I did treat it like a lotion, a bit worried that my cycle might come back given how overdue/inconsistent I've been with my injections recently on top of that but its in fate's hands now... go tgel go!

of course, happy to help! it seems like NOBODY gets good information about T gel from their provider like, at ALL. it seems like people never really get an explanation and if they do it's either wrong or missing information. my provider never even explained how to use it, either, they just prescribed it and i was on my own.

now technically, it *is* the pharmacists job to tell you these things, and i do encourage people to ask their pharmacists questions for every medication they take. in many places its mandatory that the pharmacist asks you if you have any questions. take advantage of this, they are more than happy to explain how to use a medication, or point you toward some resources that can help. most pharmacists that i've met actually take that explanation pretty seriously. the thing is: nobody really knows this is an option and i totally get why people don't do this more often. nobody advertises this, that your pharmacist is ready, willing and waiting to help you figure out how to use your medication... but people just make you assume its straight forward to take

I had an appointment with my endocrinologist over video yesterday and I am now gonna be using two (2)(✌🏻) pumps of gel every day! very excited to see how a bigger dose might speed up some of the changes I've been seeing!
