A small love letter to Leuprorelin in transfem hrt:

Disclaimer: I'm not a medical professional and will only be relaying information and my own experiences

Now what is Leuprorelin? It's a T-Blocker in the form of an gnrh analogon, meaning it blocks the formation of sexual hormones (in this case testosterone)

So why do I love this stuff?

1. I've had absolutely no side effects, most other people I've spoken who are also on it have also confirmed this experience

2. I don't have to take it daily, because it's injected into the tummy fat as a 3 month depot

Which gets us to the only major drawback I'm aware of: The syringe used to inject it, if that should be a Problem for you

Now why isn't it more common?

My endocrinologist said mainly because it's used to treat hormone reactive late stage cancers which leads to a) Other endocrinologists being less aware of its use in transfem hrt and b) it being rather pricey, so your insuranxe might fight you about it

Hey saw your titty ask on Lily's blog . How long have been on hrt? I've been on it 9 years and my tits are still growing, these things take time(and nourishment); if you're worried they won't get any bigger

i’ve been on hrt for just over two years now. however, i don’t think my regimen is very good because my doctor isn’t good and never order any labs for me

the thing is, for the first ~4 months or so my breasts seemed to develop normally, and i got little buds and up to a B cup. but it hasn’t changed at all since then. and my body frame makes it impossible to tell there’s anything there :/

thank you for your kind words tho, i honestly really need them 💜. as you can probably tell i’m incredibly insecure about this, but i’m trying my best to find solutions

the funniest thing about transfem hrt is that the drug which (allegedly) makes your boobs larger also happens to metabolize into a compound that makes your GABA-A receptors more sensitive, with predictable results.

and that metabolite is also an antidepressant, because sure, why not?

it's a really weird drug, and it only gets weirder the more you learn about it.

I've been trying to get DIY hrt, lately bcs I've realised that getting it through the NHS is impossible, (I wonder why) but, it's literally impossible to get it shipped to my house, and I'm so confused, like do I take the risk, and just buy something from aliexpress and hope for the best?
