When I first started making my own DC universe I didn't realize just how much DC has erased and ignored the time between the JSA disbanding and the JLA forming, like they really try to sell that the league is the starting point for the "modern age" when in reality there's barely even a gap between the time superheroes stopped operating and the new guys coming in.
For starters I don't think you can put the JLA forming any later than 1990-1991 because these people are OLD so this gives you an 40 year gap to play with considering that the JSA disbanded in 1951.
Here's a list of teams that have operated during that time:
• freedom brigade
• inferior five (depending on if you consider the freedom brigade being formed in the 40s or the 60s)
• justice experience
• infinity inc (there's NO WAY those fuckers are peers with the teen titans)
• squadron of justice
Even when the JSA and the All-star squadron disbanded most of them still operated as usual.
While I'm at it I would also like to note that there were other heroes before 1938, the old west vigilantes are pretty cool and there have been heroes here and there through the centuries.

The Inferior Five Alone they're a danger to themselves, but together they're a danger to everyone! The children of the Freedom Brigade, our heroes banded together as a way to get out of their parent's basements. They came together under the name- Infamous Inferior Five!
White Feather
William King is the son of the mysterious vigilante Bowman and has inherited his father's incredible aim- if only he had his father's courage to go with it! Love Bunny
Athena O'Day is the daughter of powerhouse hero Princess Power, an Amazon from the secret, unground city on Easter Island. Athena inherited all of her mother's muscles, except for the most important one!
Awkward Man
Leander Brent/Sand-Bell is the son of the heroes Mister Might, Mark Brent/Bar-Bell and Mermaid, Lori Lemaris. A natural born swimmer thanks to his Atlantean DNA, on land he is the most clumsiest man alive.
Merryman
Myron Victor, a third generation superhero, son of the fittingly named Patriot and Lady Liberty, it was almost guaranteed he would inherit one of their powers... Which he didn't. Encouraged to fight the good fight regardless, Myron dresses as a clown because that's exactly how he feels about himself and his team.
The Blimp
Herman Cramer, son of the fast-flying hero Captain Swift has his father's power over the wind- with none of his control. His wild wind is contained only by his inflatable suit, allowing him the amazing ability to float at a slow speed!

Once known as Merryman before being reborn as Merriment, Myron Victor was heir to a long line of legacy heroes on his home earth, forming a small team of fellow misfits called the Inferior Five. They protected their home best they could until it fell to the armies of Pariah and the King of Tears.
Separated from his friends, Myron found himself...nowhere. A living, breathing nothing outside of reality. While he was trapped in Limbo, he also quickly became its king, and he slowly began to change. While possessed of some level of skill before, Myron’s confrontation with cosmic awareness extended beyond his mind to altering his body itself: through pure accident, Myron became an Omega Humanoid.
Myron’s lax and peaceful rule of Limbo when Buddy Baker--followed sometime after by a crew of multiversal Superman--came crashing through his front door. While time had moved normal outside of Limbo, within Myron had lived like a god for thousands of years, only to have his dream of blissful nonexistence threatened by the four-colored he-men had always longed to both become and rule over.
Approached by Kell Mossa to join the very forces than had trapped him and destroyed his world, Merriment happily became a Knight of Sorrow...something very much upsetting to Cartoonist Myron Victor, who heard all of this for the first time while wearing a jester party costume and being told the only way to stop a Superior Myron would be with his own Inferior Five...

Comic Book Review: DC Special Blue Ribbon Digest #22: Secret Origins of Super-Heroes
Comic Book Review: DC Special Blue Ribbon Digest #22: Secret Origins of Super-Heroes edited by E. Nelson Bridwell “Secret origins” are a big part of the superhero genre. Since, back in the day, most superheroes had secret identities, just how exactly they’d come to gain powers or the motivation to fight crime was also a secret to the public. But we readers got to be in on the secret, creating a…

I love the five oddballs and I feel like an underrated part of their character is how they comment upon how society treats talented beings and the dangers of placing someone so talented on a pedestal. The isolation the Oddballs felt from others, especially the OG three oddballs, and their arcs relating to humanity is one of the most intriguing aspects of this game’s writing

Sorry I have FNAF thoughts I must share.
The thing about William, specifically in the fnaf movie but also kinda in the games, is that he's... Just some guy? Like.... yeah he possesses springtrap at some point, but before that... William Afton is second to his creations.
The animatronics are the ones we see killing the intruders, they're the threat Mike has to navigate. William only comes in at the end to interfere when they're not able to kill Abby and Mike.
Even then he doesn't have powers like the kids do. He can't lock doors, make you see visions of a child to follow, he's secondary to the things he has created.
(ye I know this is probably gonna change but like I'm focusing on the first movie)
And isn't it fitting that his ego is what gets him killed? He tries too hard to make the animatronics seem small, like he is the monster behind it all. But really.... He's just some guy and he dies all the same. He thought too highly of himself, thought what happened to the kids could never happen to him.
William Afton isn't as special as he thinks he is. Because he's just some guy.
