I don't watch YouTube ads. Don't have an ad blocker for the PS5 app I use with my TV.

I'll spend three minutes clicking on and off the video again and again and again until the commercials stop playing rather than watch a single 15 second ad.

They make it as inconvenient as possible for you: they'll start showing you LONGER ads, then they'll start sending you back in the video to reset the next ad break, or they'll even play two ads in a row after only a second of watching the video again, SOMETIMES they'll say "oh you're done watching this video then? Well now it's gone" and you have to go into your History to find the video again, but if you keep clicking on and off the video the commercials will stop playing and the video will play.

Is it annoying? Yeah. Is it a pain? Yeah, they make sure it's as much of a pain as possible. BUT. I have not watched a single YouTube ad in over two years because I refuse to do so.

(Also, if you ever get asked to fill in a survey instead of getting a commercial, don't skip it. ALWAYS answer "none of the above" no matter what they're asking. They HAVE to have a "none of the above" option in every survey, and it royal fucks with their data to have a bunch of useless non-answers mucking up the gears.)

I just got described as an "ad hating commie" by someone because I said a minute of youtube ads is unpleasant. fully spent 5 minutes arguing and defending youtube ads. insane stuff

Help Layla get a proper phone in Gaza
