cardan’s mortal fascination

(pt. 1 kinda: alice in wonderland analysis )

related to my last post- cardan has shown throughout the series how much he despises faerie. it’s very obvious that cardan prefers to isolate himself from the court or faerie entirely- whether that be through flat out distancing himself or drinking away his sorrows. so could his copy of alice’s adventures in wonderland be another means of escapism for cardan? he shows very clear interest in mortals and i’m wondering if maybe it’s yet another way for him to escape his responsibilities and reality of his life in faerie. he makes another reference to mortal stories when talking about the fable, the ant and the grasshopper. plus there’s his obvious obsession with jude. could cardan be similar to vivi and crave connections to the mortal world? just cardan can’t travel there quite as freely as vivi so he feeds his fascination through consuming mortal media.

like chip thrives off sneaking around and shit and his weapon stops him from being surprised by people doing the same thing.

and then Gill has a sword that was literally like ‘we need to sever the thread of fate’ and Gill was like yeah sounds legit and just went with it. when his whole thing is following destiny and what not

and Jay switching from her bow to her gun after episode 53 makes me cry a little bit every time I think about it

If Joshua graham was a cat he’d be a scraggly stray who used to be a show cat but his previous owner died and her child didn’t want the cat so he got thrown onto the street and no one knows who he truly is.

If Edward Sallow/Ceaser was a cat, he’d be some really fancy breed of cat. Maybe a British shorthair. They’re very fancy but also quite good at killing.

Vulpes would be a small fox that pretended to be a cat and was in the cat shelter and no one bothered to question it

Josuke can technically use his stand to stop a period. He could use Crazy Diamond could stop a period, right? Like they have the ability to make things go back together or well fix them so they technically could because a period is just the lining of a uterus breaking down so technically they could repair it and stop someone’s period.

A headcanon of mine is that Viren has megalophobia, the fear of large objects. I think his desire for control manifests as the fear of that which is larger and more powerful than him; that which lies far beyond the scope of his comprehension.

He was likely raised without high status and grew up trying to gain power in fear of becoming poor and weak again. Like the tsunami in his dream, it felt as though the unspeakably powerful elves and dragons could just swallow him up. He wanted to rise above the tsunami and rise above the elves and dragons because he was scared.

One of my biggest guilty pleasures is to watch The Proposal, and my mind immediately went to Pro-hero Katsuki who agreed to go up to his family’s summer lake house for his nana’s birthday. Thing is, he told Mitsuki a few months ago that he had a girlfriend to get her off his back. (She may or may not have called the morning after a night of drinking, probably for a birthday or something —a rare indulgence he regrets getting himself into.) ANYWAYSSS, Katsuki’s now panicking one evening in his office when he gets a text from his mother who can’t wait to meet his girlfriend come that Saturday. Suddenly, he’s wracking his brain for someone who could fill in and pretend being his girlfriend —it’s pathetic, this man in his late-twenties is trying to find someone to literally fake date him so his mother doesn’t knock his ego down into unthinkable depths… Then, you walk in with his latest files, ready to clock in for the day and he suddenly sees the light at the end of the tunnel… I’m on the fence about making this an actual fic because I’m not productive enough. 😭

Ok but imagine Andrew and Neil house sitting for Matt and Dan. The absolute chaos they would get up to with a toddler and dog (let’s be real Matt and Dan are dog people).

I’m thinking dog shows, and dog contests. Who’s better at training wild animals than Andrew, that man has a dog and toddler at his will, and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t win that dog contest. Because the one thing he hates more than dogs is losing.
