Soap with right side hearing loss from an accident when he was a private. The incident went into his file, and the hearing loss. Only half a sentence. And Soap never told anyone for fear of being kicked out. And he hides it well. His left side hearing is up to code, and his spacial awareness impeccable, so he's hardly ever caught unawares. Sure he's a little more jumpy if you come up on his right, and he can be just a smidge slower to respond if you're speaking on his right. He favors that side, and is a bit more vigilant. He subtly adjusts so people are on his laft if he can. But you wouldn't know any of that unless you were looking. And nobody ever looks.

Nobody except Ghost. Who did notice. And he did confront him. And Soap didn't lie. Yeah he's deaf in one ear, but he handles it fine. You hardly even notice. And Ghost agrees. It doesn't change anything. Soap is still the same soldier he knew before he figured it out. And so what if he starts walking on soap's left when they're on base. Kara respectfully asks Bruce if she can court Oracle one morning over breakfast. Bruce spits out his coffee all over the table. He’s two seconds away from telling her to ask Jim Gordon if that’s what she really wants, but then sees the wildly confused and slightly hurt expression on her face and relents. Suddenly, this makes him the de facto Decider of marriages between the House of El and the House of Wayne.

hey isnt it kinda pretty how in a way each jrwi campaign, its people who are what they say because they arent.

godslayers - not really killing the gods mercilessly, they even give chances it seems

pirates - holding onto vague memories of how to be a pirate, but other wise just fucking around

heroes - not really using that black and white ideas, which allows them to do better at this job of theirs because yeagh.
