Heartless
This month's Carnival of Aros theme is "Humanity and the Non-Human" and these prompts were particularly resonant with me:
Itâs been a fairly well-documented phenomenon that many aromantics tend to feel some sort of connection to some sort of fictional non-human species, whether as specific examples, or as a whole. If you relate, what are your thoughts on these characters and concepts as an aro(-spec)? Do you have any experiences in any subcultures related to non-humanity, such as Voidpunk?
So I thought I'd write something about my personal experiences.
It will come as no surprise to people who follow this blog that I am a heartless aromantic and I'm also a huge Kingdom Hearts fan. (To anyone who isn't familiar with KH, in the games there are beings of darkness called Heartless. There's a lot of designs and some are cooler than others so here are a few of my favorites:)
[ID: Various Heartless from Kingdom Heartles, in order, a Shadow, a Neoshadow, a Soldier, and a Darkling. End ID]
These beings are both literally and very much not literally (it's complicated) heartless. They are manifestations of the darkness in people's hearts and seek to steal more hearts to transform into Heartless.
(something something beings that are recognizably human but also . . . not and yet still have the instinctual desire to reclaim what was taken)
A common stereotype about aromantic people is that we are heartless and unfeeling because we don't experience romantic love. Aromanticism may influence a person's emotions and definitely impacts views on romance, but to say that all aros are cold and emotionless is hurtful and arophobic. But I also genuinely identify with the term "heartless." Not feeling romantic attractions makes me feel alienated from amatonormative society, and "heartless aro" is the best way for me to describe that feeling.
My love of Kingdom Hearts is also a huge influence on that. When I say KH rewired my brain, it's only a half joke. I was 5-6 years old when I first discovered these games and this bizarre Disney/Final Fantasy crossover was a very formative experience. "Heartless" is not just a way to describe my aromanticism, its a defining aspect.
What is it, to be Heartless? To be human, once, but now something . . . other: a being born of darkness. Darkness is a force that is often used for evil, but still KH makes a point of not making it inherently evil. Darkness exists in every heart. It can overwhelm, but it can also be accepted and mastered, like in Riku's case. To choose to become Heartless, in Sora's case, is a defining moment of humanity.
My blog url might be aro-sora (because let's be honest, he's super arospec) but the title, "My Heart Belongs to Me," is quote from Roxas, one of the best examples in KH of someone being denied humanity for supposedly not having a heart, yet being one of the most caring and emotional characters in the series. He's not an actual capital-H Heartless (that's Sora, briefly) but his story and his struggles just . . . resonate with me. "I am me! Nobody else!" I want for people to stop thinking of me as something I am not, as desiring relationships I don't want, or even being a gender I am not.
I don't have much experience with voidpunk culture (but now I want to look into it), but recently I discovered the term otherhearted: "Identifying strongly with something nonhuman and/or fictional, without literally identifying as that thing." (I'm a bit on the fence between being otherhearted and otherkin, but otherheart literally has the word "heart" in it and the KH influence is strong.) It's a very queer experience to want to change your identity and be something other than what people see you as. Sometimes I imagine that for myselfâclaws of darkness, eyes of burning gold. Darkness cannot exist without light, but neither can light exist without darkness. Nothing can destroy me, because I am the shadow at the very heart of the world.
I guess that would make me Heartless-hearted. An ironic term, I know, but similarly to my personal heartless aro identity I find it absolutely hilarious. So many parts of my identity are "contradictions": being bigender, being human and heartless. It fits with the lore of the Heartless themselves: some technically do possess hearts and some don't. (it's complicated)
I call myself heartless the same way I call myself queer. Bigots will use them as insults and an attempt to make me lesser and other and nonhuman, but to me these are my words. They are mine and I give them power, no one else. Someone thinks I'm "heartless" for not experiencing a certain feeling? Fuck them, I AM heartless. And I am still human because I choose to be, not because humanity is something to be given or taken away. I don't have to prove anything about myself to anyone. I define my own heart, NO ONE ELSE.
And if they still think that being heartlessâbeing aromanticâis something "wrong" or "unnatural" or not human? I only have a warning for them:
Beware the darkness in your heart. The Heartless prey upon it.
#kh#carnival of aros#a carnival of aros#aromantic#aro#heartless#heartless aro#otherhearted#my ideal gender presentation is either a mix of masculine and feminine or literally just a neoshadow. or a darkling#semi-related note: the terms âHeartlessâ and âNobodyâ make sense for their respective beings and I will fight anyone who says otherwise#i was very tempted to include images of the wackier heartless designs but it would have taken away from the point#non kh fans reading this i highly recommend browsing the kh wiki and seeing all the designs. some are . . . interesting#like scar. yes. scar the lion from the lion king#you may have heard of him#i also use loveless and lovequeer but mostly heartless because. as i said. the kh influence is very strong#it's about beings that USED TO BE human but AREN'T ANYMORE yet still have that instinctive desire to restore their missing heart#*gestures wildly to the air* DO YOU SEE MY POINT#ITS ABOUT A SCARED CONFUSED BOY HAVING EVERYTHING TAKEN AWAY AND HUMANITY DENIED FROM HIM YET STILL SO PAINFULLY HUMAN#i'm going to go cry about roxas now#happy spooky month everybody!

Blue finds Orfeu (and Haru maybe) watching the videos when Blue was with the internet fuker... and Orfeu talks to Blue about it ??? (I don't know, or something like that) (Just add some angst and comfort)
Big fan of everything you do đđđ
Thank you anon :3 this one was hard tbh sdfghjjdhgf
CW: Panic attack/PTSD; Dehumanization; It as a pronoun; Past abuse;
Orfeu was angry.
He had no words enough to describe what he was watching, and deep down, he knew he should stop. Yet, he kept on watching.
He knew what had happened to Blue. It was carved on his skin forever. He shouted about it at night. The fear was a ghost following him wherever he went.
But he wasnât prepared to see it happening. The fight he had on his eyes slowly stripped from him, his humanity taken to a point where he couldnât refer to himself as anything but an âitâ anymore. The people cheering his torturer, denying him the simplest of kindnessâŚ
And Orfeu was angry. His nails carved on the skin of his palm enough to draw blood. Yet he felt nothing, and if he did he wouldnât care. He wanted that man dead. Each video he watched, his anger grew, and he groaned at his phone, teeth showing, the hatred on his eyesâŚ
He was so lost into it he didnât realize Blue was standing there. Not until he heard a small sob. And he turned, hell still breaking loose inside him.
He was careful. Blue and Haru had never seen him angry. And he wondered what Blue must have felt when he saw it, because his eyes widened, his face went paled and he gasped, falling to his knees, forehead hitting the floor.
Shit. He gets up, still altered and Blue lets out an audible cry.
âSorry. S-s--sorry M-master. Sorry. B-Blue is is stupid bad ugly and dumb. Sorry. Sorry. Itâs sorry itâs, itâs itâŚâ the words turned incoherent, marked by strangled breathing. He curled up on himself, wide eyes and panic so strong he seemed in pain.
âBlueâŚâ he tried, as soft as possible. Blue jumped onto him, grabbing his shirt. He was trying so hard to speak, to beg, but couldnât manage a word, hyperventilating.
Orfeu felt so powerless, as he uselessly tried to coax Blue to breathe. Until he passed out, falling on Orfeuâs lap.
âFuckâŚâ He whispers to himself. He pulls Blue closer, grabbing one of his hands and rubbing it softly, hands caressing the other one while his read rests over Orfeuâs leg. He wakes up a few seconds afterwards, trembling, eyes full of tears âItâs okay. Iâm not mad at you. I promise. Iâm not madâ
Blueâs lost eyes darted from one way to anotherâŚItâs ear is being scratched⌠MasterâŚMaster Orfeu holds it. It wants to scream! It needs to scream and run and hide! Master Orfeu was terrifying. Terrifying.
Master had sharp sharp sharp teeth that could tear into its skin and he looked so angry, so angry, a beast ready to attack. Blue wants to apologize, say he is sorry, Master saw it, saw the videos he, he, he angry Blue walked in on him it was bad so bad-
âBreatheâ Comes the order. He tries so hard to obey but oh god itâs so bad itâs scary its, itâs going to be hurt it will âBlue breathe. Youâll pass out again. Please. Iâll countâ
Breathing is impossible and its chest hurt and itâs so tight and, and, and Blue is going to die its heart will jump out! It will! It grabs its chest, it canât it canâtâŚ
âBlue itâs okay. You are good, you are. I know itâs scary, but it will pass. Please breathe. Iâm not angry at youâ
It hurts. It canât. It wants to cry, wants Master Warren again. It hates here, hates it hates it hates it. Itâs scary and, and nothing makes sense and Master says weird things and isnât, itâs bad⌠It wants its dog bed and be safe with Master Warren and be cared for and loved not this not breathing its hard, it is too stupid! Why canât Master understand that his pet is stupid?
âNânoâ Blue whimpers, each breath he takes hurts, makes his body shake and cold sweat runs through him âNân-no, p--pleaseâ
Master Warren knew the pet was stupid didnât get angry cause he knew! He knew. Itâs scary. Scary. Why wonât it stop why canât it breathe. This will never end it will neverâŚ
âYou are safe, I promise. Blue itâs scary but it canât hurt you. I promise. Nothing will hurt you. But breathe. Pleaseâ
Blue doesnât want to breathe it wants to scream. So it does. It screams. It kicks and thrashes and Master lets it go, just holds his head.
And, and, and more hands. More Hands! Scared ice blue eyes scary green eyes, soft white hair flowing, Haru, Haru, Haru.
It grabs Haru, it wants it, he, he, he is good and keeps Blue safe right? But, but but Haru tells, tells Master where Blue, Blue hides and thatâs, thatâs not good. It is scared itâs scaredâŚ
âŚSoft humming. Haru holds him on a hug, and hums a song for him, slowly. A pretty song. He is crying, Haru is crying.
Blue closes its teary eyes. He likes the song, the humming⌠Bonnie. Master hands it Bonnie. It grabs her, Bonnie is good, she is good. It pulls her closer, nuzzling on Haruâs soft arms, tears just wonât stop. Master walks away, to the window, he buries his face on his hands. Scary. Scary.
He cries. Haru cries. Master⌠He thinks Master is crying. He doesnât know. Doesnât think thatâs possible⌠But once he feels calmer, Haru pulls a blanket around Blue, and goes to hug Master. Master falls to his knees, holding Haru, petting the soft white hair.
ââŚThank youâŚâ Master whispers âIâm sorry Haru, Iâm so sorry. I know itâs a lotâ
Master cleans Haruâs tears before cleaning his own. Haru lets his head fall on Masterâs shoulders, pretty eyes closing slightly.
âŚBlue⌠Blue must have been bad. So bad.
Because they are both sad! Both of them!
It crawls closer, hesitantly, Bonnie on its arms. It is scared⌠But it wants to be held too. Will he be allowed close to them now? He doesnât deserve it... But Haru and Master let him in the hug as well. They ruffle its hair.
âS-s-s-sorrryâŚâ it whimpers.
âItâs okay⌠Iâm the one who should apologize Blue. I wasnât mad at you. I didnât know you were thereâ
âI-i-iit s-s-should have, should haveâŚâ
âYou did nothing wrong. I promise. You are a good boy. A very good boyâ
It looked up slight smile, and pulled Bonnie closer.
âMaster saw⌠Saw⌠T-t-theâŚv-v-videosâŚâ
Yeah. Haru frowned, confused, but Master didnât explain.
âS-s-sorryâŚâ
âItâs not your fault. I was just⌠I didnât like that someone hurt you Blueâ
Blue nods. Of course. It was a good pet before. Now it canât do much anymore.
âIt, it is ugly a-a-and u---u-useless now b-b-but⌠it, it deserved itâŚâ
Master pets its hair.
ââŚNo, Blue. Thatâs not it. You didnât deserve any of that. It was cruelâ
âB-b-b-lue⌠Mis misbehaved Master. And, and itâs, itâs old Master n-n-needed B-b-blue for, for the videosâŚâ
âYour old Master didnât deserve youâ And Master looks at Haru too ââŚYou two are⌠Too good for any of this. If I could change what happenedâŚâ
Master sighs. He doesnât do that often. He seems⌠lost. Not really there, eyes seeing something far away.
âIâm just⌠Iâm so sorryâ
Blue stares at the ceiling, Haru stays quiet, head leaning against the wall.
Tired. All of them. So tired. But they cuddle together, not bothering to get off the floor, and being close to them feels warm.
#blue needs a tag#haru and orfeu#orfeu needs a therapist :3#he so good with Haru but so bad with Blue asdfghjyfmdthnsrgbfgsds

Poltergeist boyfriend
Bill Denbrough x Stanley Uris
When his parents told him that they were moving, Bill expected a new house or a futuristic apartment, but instead he got an old and rusty house. So there he was, big box full of books in hands, looking the house up and down with a sour look in his usually bright eyes. He looked at the window of the left upstairs bedroom, where he saw a figure looking at him. He looked around to find hid mom, but the figure was gone when he looked back. Stupid old house, stupid long road, stupid heavy box. Georgie, on the other hand was more than happy to go inside, running around the porch and urging everyone to move faster. Bill went inside and asked his mom to see his bedroom. She pointed the medium one upstairs, the same room where he saw that figure.
The next day he went to his new highschool. There, he met Eddie, Richie, Ben and Bev. He hit it off with Bev, but there was never gonna be anything between them, as Bev was dating Ben and Bill was very gay. The school was ok: the teachers were kind, the halls were clean and bullying was taken very seriously. Plus it was only five minutes away from home, which meant that Bill could get there in time to say bye to his parents before they left for work. For lunch he had mashed potatoes with chiken, his favourite. While he was eating, he heard a loud thud coming from his bedroom. Licking his fingers of grease, he went upstairs, ready to yell at Georgie for going in his bedroom. But the bedroom was empty. The only thing out of place was the picture of him and Mike, his old friend for the other town. When he picked it up he could swear he saw the same figure behind him in the glass. Placing the picture back, he ran downstairs to finish his meal. Little did he know, that would be the first of many encounters with the supernatural being.
Things started getting weirder and weirder over the next a few weeks. Wednesdays were Alphabet Soup days for the Denbroughs, but they got strange for Bill. Everytime he'd pick a spoon of letters, they would always spell things like: youre cute, i like u, i love u. He'd come home to see drawings of him and a boy on his desk. He blamed Georgie at first, but the young boy denied everything. All the drawings showed Bill either hugging or kissing this curly haired boy. He even saw this boy in his dreams, either looking out the window or playing the piano in the living room. Whenever Bill would open his english notebook he'd be met by short love poems, always signed S.U. But the worse happened when he brought people over.
The first time someone came over, it was boy named Jake, who was Bill's project partner. He only stayed in Bill's bedroom for five minutes, while Bill was making tea, when he cursed loudly and ran out of the house calling Bill nuts. Bill chased after him, confused and hurt, but looking to his bedroom window from the front yard, he saw the curly haired boy dissapear behind the curtains. This happened to everyone who came over to Bill's. It even happened to Eddie. The boy left after 30 minutes, saying someone was watching him and throwing stuff at his head. Bill was desperate, to the point where he begged Beverly to help him. Bev was a witch, so she was more than happy to help him figure the problem out. Her best guess was that a spirit that was bound to the house had taken a liking in Bill and was trying to chase potential partners away.
The plan was for Bill to hold hands with Bev, pretend to be dating so the spirit would give her its worst. That was exactly what happened, but Bev stood her ground. She ignored the yelling in her ear, the things thrown at her and the very scray ghost following her. At some point, Bill saw the ghost and warned Beverly that it was a diffrent one. The usual ghost was a boy with light curly hair and kind brown eyes. Beverly said that this scary ghost was a shape the boy was taking to scare her away. After a couple hours, Bev pulled Bill into the living room.
"Bill, I have to leave. Here you go. Inside this box thereâs a ouija board. You have to paly alone, so that the poltergeist will have to join you. I also wrote you instructions on a paper I taped on the back of the box. This being really really likes you, so thereâs nothing to worry about. Iâm just worried I might anger it by staying longer. Youâll be fine.â and with that she left. Bill took the board and the planchette to his bedroom. Sitting down he read the mantra Bev gave him outloud and looked around.
âIâm alone, supernatural being, so you have to join me. Please join me.â With that, Bill lifted his head to see the curtains move. He was a little freaked out, but he calmed himself down. The scary ghost emerged form the other side of the room, looking around with wild eyes. It passed Bill by, yelling and ran downstairs. Bill was thanking God that neither Bev, nor his parents or Georgie were home to see the scene unfold. The door behind him opened again and Bill saw the boy coming in the room and sitting on the floor, oposite of where he sat. The supernatural being was in its regular form, probably calming down after seeing Bev was gone. It put its hand on the planchette moving it around to spell âHi Billâ.Â
âHi! Can you please tell me your name?â Â
âStanley Uris. My family lived here 45 years ago.â
âBut youâre supposed to be alive today.â
âI am, but I was killed in an accident at school. Two kids locked me in the boiler room as a prank. A teacher found me dead 12 days later. I was burried in the back yard of this house.â
âWhy do you harass my friends? Why do you give me poems and drawing?â
âCause I like you and I dunno how to express it. I chase people away cause Iâm afraid youâll like them more cause theyâre alive. Was that girl your girlfriend?â
âShe is a friend, Iâm gay. I did that to make you respond.â
âI wouldâve responded either way. You have nice eyes. And I like your drawings. Youâre cute when you are focused.â
âYouâre cute now. Is there any way I can make you be alive, sort of. Like in Beetlejuice?â
âI am dead. Whatâs Beetlejuice?â
âA musical about a demon. If someone said his name three times, he could be touched and seen, it was almost like he was real again.â
âI am not a demon, but I get it. You can make me real, sort of real. By allowing me to come into your world at will. You need black salt and moon water. Your witch friend has them for sure. You also need a picture of me. You can find one in the attic. You can do it tomorrow. Iâll guide you.â and with that, Stan moved the planchette to goodbye and went back to the window, where he vanished. Bill instantly called Bev and asked her for black salt and moonwater. Bev was happy to help again.
The next day, right after Georgie left to meet up with his friends, Bill dashed to the attic and looked in all the furniture until he found a picture of Stan. It was a picture of him playing the piano. Bill took it, ran to his room to get the board, took the salt and water from his backpack and ran to his bedroom. Stanley responded in less than a second.
âYou got everything?â
âYes, but you need to tell me what to do with them.â
âYou need to go to the backyard and take 27 small steps from the back door forward. Youâll be somewhat above my body. You need to sprinkle salt around yourself in a circle, emerge the photo in moonwater and put it in front of your feet. Put some more salt on the picture and say this: I, Bill Denbrough, allow Stanley Uris to come back into this world at free will. I will be the only one to see him. Heâll step in the land of the living and come out of it whenever he wants. That should do it. Iâll be watching you.â
âWill I be able to touch you that way?â
âYes.â
âWill you be able to leave the house?â
âYes. Iâll also be able to return to land of the dead if Iâll feel like it.â
âCool. Ok. Letâs do it.â And with that Bill went in the backyard and did exactly as Stanley had instructed him. At first it seemed like nothing happened, so Bill decided to go back inside. Once inside, he felt a hand on his shoulder while going up the stairs. Turning around he came face to face with Stanley.
âHi, Bill! Wow you have soft skin. I have soft skin. Your clothes look nice. Mine are kinda old. Your hair is so soft as well. Mine is curlier then yours I donât really like it that much. What do you think? Is my hair that bad?â Stanley started rambling. Bill just looked at him with wide eyes. He was real. Bill took a step forward, throwing himself in Stanleyâs arms. Stanley didnât respond at first, but hugged back in the end. It was going to be one hell of a ride, teaching Stanley how to be human again, how would his parentâs react, showing Stanley the modern world, but he was ready. After all, Bill would do anything for love.
Hello, Erica here! I just wanted to thank @bi-teen-angst for the headcannons posted their account. Sorry for the bad grammar and for the fact that I am 1 year late with this. I wish everyone the best.

Rebirth of A Samurai (Final Part)
Summary: This fic is a what if scenario to SMT4 Apocalypse. I would go into more detail, but I donât want to spoil too much of what this fic entails. If this fic gains traction I may continue the story on from this one-shot. Warning: This is a long one.
This may be the last I write for awhile with college right around the corner. I wonât stop completely, but it will become a lot slower.
He only heard it when he got like this. When he became blind to anything else, but rage.
âA man who forgets kindness is no worse than a demon.â, he suddenly remembered Jonathanâs words as a feeling crept up inside him.
A part of him was also yelling at him to stop and realize what heâs doing. Flynn blinked trying to regain his sense of self which became blotted out by rage when Nanashi taunted him about Isabeauâs death. No. No. No matter what Nanashi had done this was far too cruel. He had to stop, he had to give him a chance to explain himself. The angered voice practically roared at him thinking that. But, he ignored his angered voice he remembered where exactly losing himself has gotten him. If he had a clearer head then his mother would still be alive. No he wasnât going to listen anymore!
Vishnu-Flynn stopped his assault, greatly confusing and relieving Dadga. Flynn felt all the blood coating his skin like back then and he felt just as disgusted as he was then if not worse. He lowered his blades as he looked down at Nanashiâs mangled form which regrow itself. His blood ran cold after finally stopping and seeing what exactly heâd been doing. What was wrong with him?! No matter how angry he was, this was just...unacceptable.
Ryou rejoiced in seeing for once he reached Flynn. His feelings didnât often reach Flynn because of how buried he was, but he finally got through to him.
Flynn waited for Nanashi to prepare himself before he pointed his blade at him. It wasnât to attack him again, it was just to make sure he didnât try anything. He could see the fear in Nanashiâs eyes as he looked up at him. He felt like looking away in shame, but he kept his gaze locked on Nanashi.
Nanashi was completely perplexed as to why Flynn stopped, but he wasnât complaining. He was glad to finally take a breath. Though, he didnât exactly need to breathe it calmed his nerves, something he desperately needed after that. He couldnât help but tremble. He didn't want to look like a scared kid but...How was he supposed to keep cool after that massacre?! Vishnu-Flynn cast a massive shadow over hit feeble form. His gold and red eyes gazed into his soul. He shouldnât have killed the others at least not before facing him. He needed their help, in his overconfidence he bit off far more than he could chew. His heart nearly jumped out of his mending chest when Vishnu-Flynn pointed his blade at him. He couldnât hide his trembling now, his fear that Vishnu-Flynn wouldnât stop trying to kill him till in stuck.
âWhy did you do it? Why did you betray everyone?â, Vishnu-Flynn asked, he sounded hurt.
âI-I!â, Nanashi stuttered, still not completely together mentally believing if he said the wrong thing the former samurai would continue his assault.
He met Vishnu-Flynnâs gaze which was a lot less cruel and enraged now. He could see in his eyes he wanted to forgive him, to understand why he did this. The gaze brought up a distant memory from within him of a kind man with sympathy even for demons, Ryou. It helped him relax a bit and made him feel he wasnât about to be killed on the spot for saying the wrong thing.
âI-I thought it was the only way...To free humanity from YHVH foreverâŚâ, Nanashi admitted.
âYou think that was worth betraying everyone? Why donât you just kill YHVH?â, Vishnu-Flynn questioned.
âBecause heâll come back and heâll keep coming back as long as people long for gods. In our new world there will be no gods, people will stand on their own two feet, not relying on others or praying for help like weaklings. The others would have gotten in our way since we were going to destroy this universe before creating ours.â, Dadga said, revealing himself.
Dadga was taken aback when he heard Vishnu-Flynn wheeze and completely break into laughter. Dadgaâs eye twitched he was laughing at him. He could feel a bit of condescension in his laughter.
âYouâre a hypocrite like Lucifer and Merkabah. You claim you want people to stand on their own and not rely on others when youâre relying on someone yourself. A vulnerable fifteen year old boy is the one you chose to have do your bidding, Dadga. You're pathetic.â, Vishnu-Flynn said in a scathing and venomous tone.
âYou tore apart that fifteen year old boy yourself! Oh great Tokyo Liberator your just as much as a fucking monster as Shesha.â, Dadga shot back.
âWay to change the subject...I guess thatâs an admission. I wonât deny what I did, you're right I am a monster. To the point when I fight I sometimes completely lose myself like just now. But, I would never dream of betraying good loyal people like you did. If things had continued as they had I may have ended up killing Jonathan and Walter myself, but thatâs because they had lost themselves and were going to ruin the world. But, if they hadnât changed if they stayed themselves like Isabeau I would have never even thought about killing them. You on the other hand betrayed your own allies so you could create your stupid universe. Well, I donât care what silly justification you give to justify for committing genocide on a entire people no universe,...I donât care who you are. If you intend to sacrifice innocent lives for your plans Iâll wipe you from this Earth.â, Vishnu-Flynn said, staring into Dadgaâs eyes with a fiery resolve.
Dadga grew nervous knowing he was serious about killing him. He could tell about looking into his eyes he had the eyes of a godslayer and a killer. Thatâs what he truly was. Thatâs what godslayers were and thatâs why every faction wanted him for themselves. They wanted his monstrous power on their side so they could topple their enemies. He knew he was stuck. He had an idea before to make him pause, but he realized it might end up making things worse for them. His godslayer was a shivering wreck right now. He clicked his tongue. Heâs going to have to cut his losses right now and hope Krishina doesnât regain control over Flynn to bring about his salvation then try again. Dadga was ambitious, but he wasnât stupid he knew right now neither he nor his âgodslayerâ couldnât defeat Flynn and he was almost out of power. So he ran. Before Vishnu-Flynn realized what he was doing he disappeared leaving behind Nanashi. Considering him a failure Dadga withdrew his powers from the boy, deciding that heâd start again.
Vishnu-Flynnâs attention snapped to Nanashiâs when his body clattered on the ground like a puppet with its strings cut. The form Vishnu-Flynn melted away leaving Flynn who ran to the dying Nanashi.
âNanashi!â, he called out bending down over him.
âWhy the fuck..do you sound so concerned..you fucking moron?!â, Nanashi questioned, genuinely confused as to why Flynn was showing him any sympathy.
Ryou, heâs back. Even now after all the shit heâs been through he still chose forgiveness. Damn. His current self right he is fucking moron. He always told Ryou that he didnât have to feel sympathy for everyone. That he didnât have to always apologize. Some people are just shit thatâs just how it was. Yet, that idiot never once listened to him and continued to be stupid even when it tore him apart. After seeing Flynnâs rampage he realized that it was probably for the best Ryou never listened to him. Even after that rampage, Ryou's compassion once again entered his incarnation's eyes.
âBecause you were used just like I was by Krishna. I think he sat back because he wanted me to kill you for him. Besides nothingâs wrong about having some by your side while you die. Everyone deserves that.â, Flynn replied, making Nanashi scoff.
He winced as he felt all feeling starting to leave his body. His vital organs were shutting down.
âThatâs why...I called you a moron...You're hopelessly sappy...like Asahi...ah...I wonder if even sheâll be glad Iâm dead...After everything I doneâŚâ, Nanashi muttered, weakly.
Flynn shook his head no at Nanashiâs words.
âI donât think so. I didnât know her for long, but I donât think sheâd hate you that much. I think even if they're mad at you now, one day everyone will forgive you.â, Flynn replied.
âAhh...BullshitâŚâ, Nanashi muttered, he couldnât help but chuckle at Flynnâs naive comment.
Flynn held Nanashiâs hand as it grew continuously weaker. He felt like Nanashi was trying to say more, but he lost the strength to speak. The younger boyâs hand shivered weakly and he stared into Nanashiâs natural brown eyes. Something about them felt vaguely familiar to Flynn, but he couldnât remember where. Nanashi closed them knowing soon he would never open them again. Soon, he could no longer feel his grip and his hand slid down lifeless. Flynn closed his eyes, before he used to pray for those who passed, but after meeting real angels he couldnât do that in good conscience. If left him not knowing what to do when someone died, the only thing he could do now was tell the others of his death. With a heavy heart he reclaimed Masakadoâs katana.
Flynn got up leaving the room noticing Krishna was still worryingly silent. He froze when he saw the dead bodies of Isabeau and the others. He was shocked to see Nozomi; he didnât know she joined Nanashi. Besides that he didnât know many of the others who had been with Nanashi besides Asahi. He bent to looking to Isabeauâs crumpled form.
âIâm sorry...I was too late.â, Flynn apologized quietly to the fallen.
After that he went to Fujiwara and Skins who were glad to see him free, but confused that the others werenât there with him.
âKrishna took control of me and made me kill them. I was too late to break free, most of the Divine Powers are dead and Krishna is still out there somewhere.â, Flynn lied.
âThatâsâŚâ, Fujiwara muttered.
âIâm sorry I failed everyone. Iâm going to do what I should have done a long time ago after that...I donât know what Iâll do.â, Flynn said softly, before walking past them.
âWait Flynn!â, Skins called, out but Flynn looked away and kept walked.
He went before the boulder in the 4th district crosswalk in Ginza.
âMasakado. I need your help to rebuild the world.â, Flynn said as he unsheathed the katana.
However, neither the sword nor the rock reacted.
âWhat?â, Flynn questioned.
Did Masakado give up on him? Does he no longer believe in him after he failed everyone?
âTokyo no longer needs me.â, Masakado said from within the boulder.
âI need you! Iâm lost! I donât know what to do now!â, Flynn thought with bits of panic.
âMasakado?â, Flynn said.
âYou no longer need my protection. You wish to remove the dome and restore Tokyo to its rightful form, no? That is no longer necessary.â, Masakado explained.
âW-what are you talking about?!â, Flynn questioned, not knowing why the god suddenly changed his mind.
âIt is now possible for Tokyo and Mikado to coexist, just as you tried to with Nanashi. The two peoples can help one another regardless of the domeâs presence. This is something I realized when Shesha cut a hole through the dome. With Krishna sealed within you. I will rest. Shall fate call again, we will meet once more. The two lands now move through time the same, and gaze upon the same moon. I leave Tokyoâs protection to you, Flynn.â, Masakado explained.
âMe?!â, Flynn questioned in shock.
But, he failed Tokyo! His weakness led to more people suffering! Why was Masakado leaving everything to him?! Thatâs what got them in this situation! Because everyone left EVERYTHING up to him!
âFarewell, Flynn. May the future you build be filled with hope.â, Masakado said, Flynnâs eye twitched as he listened to Masakado.
A column of light bursts from the rocks and climbs into the sky. It fades from view as it stretches beyond the great blue blanket above. Flynn trembled, still gaping in disbelief at Masakadoâs words.
âHoy what the fuck are you saying?! Come back here you bastard!â, Flynn yelled and in a moment of rage kicked the godâs boulder.
Skins and Fujiwara sweat dropped as they walked in on Flynn yelling at Masakado.
âH-hey?!â, Masakado questioned, taken aback.
âHoy to yourself! The reason we got in this mess is because everyone relied on me! Only me! What I learned from all of this is that an entire people should never saddle their hopes on one person! And whatâs with you changing your mind all of the sudden? Me and Isabeau planned to bring the people down here so they can finally reunite with their kin, but you want to keep them divided by the firmament?! You think a stupid hole will truly reunite everyone?! Are you forgetting that Tokyo still has no freaking sun?! Do you want them to live without one forever?! How does leaving things like that make sense? Get off your ass and finish this with me!â, Flynn yelled as he continued to kick the boulder harder this time.
âHeâs completely lost it.â, Skins commented, looking stunned at Flynnâs behavior.
âThis is exactly why no one respects you gods! You just sit around and do nothing yet expect people to worship you anyway! Youâve done nothing so donât peace out on me like you did something!â, Flynn yelled.
âItâs even freakier since he looks exactly like Ryou.â, Fujiwara commented.
Now, the mental image of the mild mannered Ryou kicking Masakado and yelling at him like he was a deadbeat husband was in their minds.
âI saved Tokyo from the nukes!â, Masakado yelled back.
âAfter I dragged your ass out of your sleep and made you do it! Tokyo was going to be blown to bits while you slept like some deadbeat guardian!â, Flynn yelled back.
âR-Ryou?!â, Masakado questioned, wondering how Flynn remembered that when the specific circumstances before he was used by his previous incarnation werenât explained.
âIf youâre not going to actually do something to reunite Tokyo and Mikado Iâll convince them all to come down here, remove the firmament myself and drag YHVHâs sorry ass off his throne!â, Flynn yelled, kicking Masakado for the final time
Masakado was stunned into silence by the outburst, but he remembered Flynn had been captured and likely tortured for days by the Divine Powers leaving him at his wits end especially with many of his allies gone. With Krishna inside him it probably wasnât best to leave him in that state. He could feel Flynn has become a god far more powerful than even him.
âY-youâre right.â, Masakado replied nervously.
âYou bet Iâm right Masakado take your chalice. Iâll give you the okay when everyone has been evacuated from Mikado.â, Flynn replied.
Then Flynn left for Mikado leaving the stunned Skins and Fujiwara behind.
To be continued?

His Blood Runs Gold VII
Percy is a god: Part VII
Hereâs my masterlist for the next part and my other stuff
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Golden child,
Lion boy;
Tell me what itâs like to conquer.
Fearless child,
Broken boy;
Tell me what itâs like to burn.
-oh darling, even rome fell // p.s. (via madzie-bane)
(Tumblr: @loudthoughtswrittenwords)
âI didnât want to be a God!â Jason bellowed. The stone columns of Olympus cracked.
âIt was the only way I could save you.â A voice as soft as darkness answered.
âHow could you do this to me?â Anger laced every word
âI cannot lose you Jason.â
âI donât care. I never asked you to save me.â
âI could notâ would not let you die.â
âThis is not about you Percy.â
âIt never is.â
âWhat do you want from me?â
âI want youââ His voice broke, âI want you to live. I want you to experience everything the world has to offer. I want youââ He was a hurricane of emotion, âI want you with me.â
âThat,â Jason laughed, cold and dead, âIs the most selfish thing I have ever heard.â
âYouâre calling me selfish for wanting to save my friend? What about you?â The ground shook, fractured, crumbled.
âWhat about me?â
âI am selfish for wanting to save you, but you are selfish for not wanting to live.â
âIt is not your life. You have no right to make that decision.â Thunder was a dark rumbling noise around them. âYou have no idea what itâs like, what itâs been like for me.â
âI DO!â
The world exploded.
Marble floors and stone columns crashed to the earth. Screams, screeching and panicked, were a symphony in their ears. Lightning and tsunamis clashed in a look.
âI was there, fighting the other side to your war. I was there going on quests and dealing with prophecies. I was there leading people into battle and carrying bodies out. I KNOW WHAT ITâS LIKE.â
âThen you would know that there is no chance of living. There is no point.â
âThere is alwaysââ A strangled gasp cut him off.
Percy looked down and wondered with dazed interest why there was an arrow sticking out of his chest. It was such a pretty arrow. White as snow, swirling patterns snaking around the shaft, and there on the arrowhead, a smudge of gold.
He reached out to touch it and giggled as his fingers came away wet.
Silly Percy, the arrow is not gold, thatâs just his blood.
He looked up to show Jason and frowned when he saw those golden cheeks go pale as bone.
A broken sound ruptured from his friendâs throat.
âLook thereâs an arrow in me.â
And then Percy Jackson sunk to his knees, fell to the fissured floor. He did not move again.
It had always seemed kind of funny how we come into the world and go out of it the same way. How we cry on an exhale and die on one too. It is a wonder why we never do anything on an inhale. Maybe because half of life is about letting go. About release. And wasnât that what dying was?
The God of Protection and Guidance stared down at his body, watching a blonde-haired boy cradle it like delicate china. He deigned to laugh at the irony of his situation. Protection and Guidance, for all except him.
He knew he wasnât dead because gods never really died. But did they have souls? Or was this a result of his genes, still coded with his motherâs human DNA? A tether that kept him in the mortal world. He looked around, catching his reflection in a small pool on the far side of the room. A smiled stretched his lips as he took in his appearance. A golden aura veiled his naked body, basking him in godly light.
With a dismissive glance he turned from the pool and floated towards the boy crying over his tattered clothes. The blonde looked so familiar; they must have known each other extremely well for him to look so distraught. Percy thought about trying to tell him that he wasnât actually dead, just in limbo but he didnât know this person. It would be an awkward conversation to have with a stranger.
A gut-wrenching sob interrupted his musings. The stranger was bowed over, tears fresh and hot spilling down golden cheeks and onto his body. His heart clenched briefly as he watched the boy break, unable to help, to comfort.
âCUPID!â He screamed, lightning flashing in those blue eyes. âWhere are you?â
A shimmer of light and then a being materialized above them.
âSo we meet again Son of Jupiter.â
âWhere are you?â The boy screamed again.
Percy realized the god hadnât revealed himself yet, keeping his body hidden between the folds of the universe.
âDo you remember what I said when you asked me that question four years ago Child of Greece?â
A demigod then, Percy decided moving forward to peer at the boy more closely.
âFIX THIS!â The half-blood roared, ignoring the Godâs question.
âWhere you least expect it, as love always is,â Eros continued.
âWhy are you telling me this?â The blonde cracked, voice small, broken.
âBecause Jason Grace, you are terrified of what that means. Your friend Nico di Angelo figured it out. He understood and he embraced it, but you continue to deny yourself because you are scared.â
âI donât know what youâre talking about. Piper broke up with me, I loved her.â
âThat is not what I mean.â
âWhat do you want me to say?â He whispered, âPlease just fix him, heal him.â
âThe only way is to admit what you have been afraid to for so long.â The God of Love said softly, turning his head in Percyâs direction.
Percy gave him a smile, wicked and intrigued. The God was beautiful, the way only love can be. In another life Percy may have asked for a moment to learn who Eros was. In another life he may have learnt just what Cupid could do.
âI love him okay! I love him!â The crumbling room shook with the force of Jasonâs confession.
The Son of Jupiter gripped Percyâs body, mumbling over and over, âI love him, why do I love him?â
The Arrow that had found its mark in a heart of gold, turned to rose petals and floated towards the god still hovering above the world.
âAre you happy, you sick son of a bitch?â He glared at Cupid.
âAre you?â Glinting eyes stared at the broken scene.
Eros turned to Percy, mischief flashing across his features, âUntil we meet again Son of Poseidon,â
He smirked in return. With a nod the god was gone.
Before he had time to blink, he was being hurtled across space, hurtled across memories, and time. He was hurtling right to the cracking marble floor.
Percy Jackson gasped, eyes flying open. He touched a finger to his chest and suppressed a giggle when a single rose petal floated to the floor.
âYouâre alive,â The boy holding him rasped.
âWhy wouldnât I be?â
âWell you got stabbed through the heart with a godâs weapon, I was worried itâd kill you despite your divine status.â
âWell thanks for worrying but I think Iâm good.â He looked around, frowning at the broken columns and ruptured floor, âWhat happened here?â
âYou donât remember?â The blonde squinted, confusion flitting across his face.
âNo, should I?â
âWe fought because you made Zeus turn me into a God and our power destroyed everything,â
âWow,â He mumbled, âWe must really have gone at it.â
âHey, do you know your name?â
He gave the god still holding him a weird look, âOf course I know my name. Iâm Perseus Jackson, God of Protection and Guidance.â
âWho are your parents?â
âLord Poseidon and Sally Jackson.â
âAnd-â The blonde swallowed, âAnd do you know who I am?â
Percy frowned, looking at him properly for the first time since waking in his arms.
âIâm sorry, I have no idea.â
The boy with storms in his eyes burst into tears.

*toots worldâs littlest horn* Hi hello itâs me.
So I promised chapter 25 of Not As Simple out today, for Undertaleâs 5th anniversary....and truth be told, I worked my ass off trying to make that happen. I have...not had much sleep lately haha... But at the end of the day I had to accept my physical limitations, and recognize that even for this special day, it isnât worth putting out a subpar, shortened, chapter lacking in quality.
So...Iâve reluctantly tabled that.Â
Instead, what I would like to offer you, is a glimpse at the next chapter--a rough version of its first two scenes (subject to revisions in the final chapter, obviously) sitting at 2.5k words--and my solemnest promise that, god willing, I will be releasing the chapter in full either this weekend or the next. Basically, as soon as I can without costing the writing quality.
So, without further ado, please enjoy this preview--
âDaddy, help meââ
The recorder stops. Rewinds. Plays again.
âDaddy, help meââ
And again.
âDaddy, help meââ
And again.
Sans sighs as he steps back into the lab room, making his was over to Gaster. With a deft maneuver, he wrestles the recorder out of his mentorâs hand, cutting off another plaintive, shrill âHelp me.â He places the recorder on the far end of the table Gaster is sitting at, just out of his reach, and plops into the chair next to him. Gaster doesnât reach for the recorderâno doubt understanding itâs a futile effort after the last time Sans had confiscated it and spent the next hour swatting Gasterâs hand away from it every time he reached for itâbut his eyes follow it all the same. And stay there.
Thereâs something shell-shocked and empty about him, ever since heâd heard Remnantâs voice over the radio. Ever since heâd stumbled closer, demanding to know what the fuck heâd just heard, and played it backâthen played it once more.
Then heâd sat down heavily, eyes wide, and had said quietly ââŚThat was a child. Sans, that was a child,â like it was the most earth-shattering, devastating revelation he could picture. Sans hadnât known what to sayâhadnât ever really stopped to think about it until then, because Remnant is Remnant, and Sans knows something about being both a child and not oneâand Gaster had gone uncharacteristically, unimaginably quiet.
He still is. He wanders around as if heâs in a daze, startling whenever Sans touches him, and answering slowly, with long pauses, when spoken to.
And that recordingâthat last sentence, especially. It seems whenever Sans makes the mistake of leaving Gaster alone for more than a few minutes, he comes back to the other monster listening to it over, and over, and over.
Needless to say, heâs gotten used to prying the recorder out of Gasterâs hands in the days since their successful venture into void-studying, as he juggles sifting through the mountain of data the experiment had given them, and trying to cajole Gaster into helping him. Itâs the only way they manage to get anything done.
âGaster,â Sans says, patiently, and Gaster makes a vague, acknowledging Mhmm noise, eyes still on the recorder. Sans waves it vaguelyâfeeling rather like he does when he holds a treat in front of Toby, or a really engrossing volume of manga in front of Alphysâand feels mildly put out when Gasterâs eyes track the recorder, as expected. He bites back a sigh, and tries again, actively taking the recorder out of sight and putting it in his pocket. âGaster.â
Gaster startles, and finally looks him in the eye. âYes, Sans, what is it?â
âWellââ Gasterâs gaze slips lower, to the jacket pocket Sans is currently hiding the recorder in, and Sans groans. âGaster!â
Gaster blinks. âWhat?â
Sans frowns, feeling the genuine concern creep in underneath the thin layer of annoyance at Gasterâs constant distraction. âWhat is up with you?â he says softly. âAll you seem to do is listen to that recording.â
âI justââ A complicated look passes over Gasterâs face. âI justââ He makes a frustrated noise at his inability to put his feelings into words, and makes a complicated hand gesture Sans assumes is supposed to convey his meaning. âI just canât get the thought out of my head. A child, trapped in that place. After everything Iâve heard you say about itâafter everything Iâve seen it do to youâŚâ
Gaster trails off again, expression filled with some kind of morbid, fascinated horror, and Sans feels a pang of sympathy. Much as heâs more used to Remnantâs⌠Remnant-ness than Gaster, and to the void, he wonât deny the recording was certainly disturbingâor that it hasnât stolen sleep from him the last few days, plagued by shapeless nightmares and dreams filled with those screams.
It seems neither of them can get it out of their head. Itâs just that Sans is, perhaps, a little bit better at compartmentalizing.
OrâŚperhaps itâs something else.
ââŚIs it a voice you recognize?â he asks slowly, turning over an old thoughtâa thing heâd wondered, about who Remnant might have been before, and about Gasterâs human, the smartest of them all.
âNo,â Gaster says firmly, dismissing the idea without hesitation. Sans senses no lie. âNo, itâs not a voice I recognize.â
Sans hesitates, confused. âThenâŚâ
Gaster makes a face.
âItâs not a voice I recognizeâand thatâs why it scares me so much.â
                             xxx
Sans runs a series of commands into the computer in front of him, overlaying the various maps their tech had drawn up of the void, trying to form a concrete, comprehensive image.
The computer hesitantly, choppily, acquiesces to his requestâand forms a few samples based off their compiled maps. Sans stares at it, and then squints really hard. He squints some moreâand then a little more, just to be safe.
ââŚHuh,â he says slowly.
Itâd taken them a difficult, well-overworked couple of weeks to slog through sorting the mountain of data their little void-studying quest had given them, and things were finally starting to fall into a manageable enough line to take a proper look at and study. ExceptâŚExceptâ
âThat canât be right,â Sans says, and Gaster perks up from across the room, practically shoving himself back from the table he was working at, and sending himself, in his desk chair, rocketing over to Sans.
âWhat? What is it?â he asks excitedly, and Sans points a confused finger at his computer screen. Gaster also pauses, and then also squints. He takes his glasses off, polishes them thoroughly, replaces them, and then squints again.
âI donâtâŚWhat?â Gaster says eloquently.
Sans blinks. âWeâreâweâre looking at the same thing, right? Youâre seeing what Iâm seeing?â
âIf you are referring to the completelyâŚillogical map of the void your computer has drawn upâthen yes, my boy, we are.â
âSomething must have gone wrong here,â Sans mutters, and types quickly, calling up the individual scans of the void. Â Dozens of images flood the screen, and Sans tries to look at each of them and figure out what has caused the error. Eyeballing this is a little difficult given theyâd used so many different mapping tools and scannersâand when some were designed to study greater ranges than othersâbut when looking at all the maps together on one screen, for the first time, Sans notices something heâd not stopped to think about before.
âItâs not just incorrectly measured averages of the scans or something,â he continues slowly. âLook at the individuals. Thereâsâtheyâre all familiar pieces, theyâre places we know.â
âItâs the Underground,â Gaster says, shaking his head. âThatâthat canât be right. We took a scan of the Underground? Howâd I fuck up that badlyâhowâd you not catch it? Thatâs what youâre best at. â
âHey,â Sans says, with no real heat in the word, but then frowns. Too distracted with his shifting thoughts, the images on the screen, to argue with Gaster. âHold on. Just let meâŚâ He runs a few more commands into the computer, pulls up his composites again. âMaybe weâre looking at this wrong.â
âHow so?â
âRemnant told me the Void was the place between places.â
âYes,â Gaster murmurs. âThe connection between the Underground and the Barrier.â
Sans shakes his head. âNo, no. Thatâs the problem. Weâve been thinking about it too literally.â He taps the screen. âThis is the void.â
âSans,â Gaster says patiently. âThatâs the Underground.â
âNo,â Sans says. âItâs the void.â
Gaster raises an eyebrow.
âWeâve been treating the void as this separate, physical other. Like a houseâweâre in one room, and thereâs another room between us and the door. Thatâs the void, right? Except thatâs all wrong, Gaster the room is right hereâunder our feet, between our fingers, in our breath.â
The eyebrow climbs higher.
âThink of it likeâŚa mirror,â Sans says, âWhen you look in a mirror, you see the room behind you, you see yourselfâitâs the same, except it also isnât, right?â
âOkay butâŚit is, thatâs how mirrors works,â Gaster says patiently, and Sans groans, burying his face in his hands.
âOkay, but what if it wasnât? What if there were things you could only see in the mirror? You canât see them directly, butâbut they were there the whole time.â Sans gestures in a hopeless way, not sure how else to explain himself. It all feels so clear, suddenlyâand at the same time he feels so, so stupid for not understanding it sooner. âThis entire time, with Remnant flittering in and out, I was assuming they were coming from somewhere else. I thought of the void as a discreet placeâbut I was completely misunderstanding what they meant. Itâs the place between places, an echo.â He waves his hand around the room, between the two of them, âItâs here, itâs always been here, we just canât see it. We canât hear it.â
Gasterâs eyes widen.
âImagine ifâŚâ Sans says slowly, âImagine if you were standing in a room. You can see everything going on around you, you can hear it. But you canât touch it, you canât change itânot physically, at least. Not the way we think about. ImagineâŚâ Sans swallows, and suddenly his heart feels heavy. âImagine if you stood there, and screamed and screamedâŚand no one could see you. No one could hear you. Youâre standing in a crowded room making as much noise as you can, and youâre there, you know youâre there, but you donât exist. As far as the rest of the world is concernedâŚyou donât exist.â
Heâs not even sure if heâs explaining anything useful anymoreâdrifting further and further from the pointâbut now all he can think of is Remnant, and all the tears they have cried and all the different ways they have died. Dead in form, dead in soul. Dead to the world. But still there.
They were nothing, theyâd said to him, just something with too much power and not enough common sense to die.
Sans shivers.
âChristâŚâ Gaster mutters, face ashen. âSo youâre saying thatâŚchild, that child is wandering the Underground, alone, completely alone, and no one can see them, except in the moments they find their way to you.â
Sans winces, thinks of roots beneath the earth, beneath the skin, and switches images on his computer. âAloneâŚmight be the wrong word.â
Gaster squints at the screen, and frowns. âWhich one is this?â
âItâs the readings of the magic surges in the void. The hotspots, the movements of power. It was going to be a way to find more shortcut spots, like the one in the labs that goes to the Core. See, thatâs there.â Sans taps a small, dark spot on the map. âYou can see it. Thereâs some kind ofâŚconcentration there, presumably thatâs whatâs opened the rift.â
âGod,â Gaster hisses in a breath. âLook at the labs.â
On the map, within the loose, spiraling storm of energy in the vague shape of the Underground, swirling and moving in its currents, sits the bright star, the eye. Right where they sit, where they sleep, along the tunnels and basements where they and their family spend their days.
âRemnant,â Sans says softly.
âTheyâre here?â
Sans sighs. âThey always have been.â
Gaster moves closer the monitor, snatches the mouse out of Sansâs hand and zooms in. âNow Iâm still not completely sure we havenât both lost it, butâand tell me if I am crazyâdoesnât it look like thereâs a second, separate hotspot, right next to it?â
Sans frowns, leaning in. ââŚThey did say they have a friend.â
ââŚPlease tell me itâs not another child.â
âShit, I donât know Gaster,â Sans snaps, annoyance getting the better of him. Itâs Gaster and the recording of Remnant all over again. âWhy are you so convinced Remnant is a kid, anyways?â
Sans has never been able to make sense of Remnant, shies away from any kind of label for them, who or what they might beâhave been, will become. Theyâre static, an empty holeâtiny and grief-stricken and not quite all there at the best of times. Thereâs the teeter-totter innocence, little feet on his own, but thereâs the darkness, too, the precise and intelligent way they hold themself, speak.
Child, it feels too small, too easy. He knows what itâs like to have a young body, and an older mind. He knows what itâs like to exist outside of time. And Remnant, he suspects, has done it much longer than he.
âI just know,â Gaster murmurs. âI can hear it.â
âGaster.â
âNo adult screams for their father like that, Sans.â
âTime doesnât work for them like it does for us,â Sans reminds him as gently as he knows how, because he doesnât know how else to admit youâre right, butâbutâbutââTheyâve pretty much said as much. The void may echo the Underground, but how times moves for themâŚIâm not sure, Iâm not sure itâs the same. And when theyâŚtap in, when they parse that barrier and I can see them, itâs notâŚlinear. Theyâre finding me from a different time, a different place. How can we be confident weâre not doing the same? What we heard could be years old, Gaster.â
It could be the future, he doesnât say.
Gaster grumbles, but doesnât argue any further.
âAnyways,â Sans says. âRemnantâs uhâŚfriend? Not what I was talking about.â Slowly, he zooms out, and points upwards with a careful finger, and Gaster swears.
âI acknowledge itâs not very becoming of the Royal Scientist himself to keep asking his own assistant questions, butâŚSans, if Remnantâs here, who is that?â
The second star beams bright, casting a wide, warping trail in its vortex. On the map, it stands in direct opposition to its twinâthe one Sans is sure is Remnant, buried beneath the castle deep with all the rest of them and their ghostsâtwo centers of power staring out over the battlefield across the planes of the Underground.
The Royal Labs, and the Ruins.
Sans thinks of forces that have found him within the grip of the void, tangled him up in blood and vines. He thinks of roots, spreading deep, searching for a way out above the soil.
âHonestly,â he says. âIâd like to know that myself.â

First, Previous (Chapter 20), Ao3
Words count: 1466
Warnings: alcohol, mention of murder, guilt, mention of human experiments, blood mention
Something was wrong.
Logan was sure of it.
Something about him wasn't the way it was supposed to be.
If he was honest that had always been the case but this was some new wrong.
He didn't like it.
Didn't trust it.
Heartrate's sidekicks shouldn't have dropped like that, the exact moment the lights went out as if someone had punched all the light switches at once.
He could do that to machines, electronics and the likes. Not people!
Those boys were definitely human. He had checked after they had passed out. So the reason was him.
He had made them pass out.
Had his powers changed?
How was that even possible?
Powers were developed and then they were supposed to stay that way.
In all his years of research he had never once even heard about powers changing.
It made him wonder if there were more ways his powers had changed.
It made him wonder if this forced shut down would have lasting effects.
It made him wonder if he might accidentally make Virgil shut down.
And that really was the biggest problem. The fear of hurting Virgil. The feeling that he was nothing but a danger. It tasted sour and familiar on his tongue.
"I'm going to give him up for adoption," Logan said staring down at the whiskey glass he was spinning between his fingers. "I have to."
"You don't have to do anything," Remy cut in. "Where the fuck is this coming from? You love the tiny gremlin!"
"I loved her too!" Logan snapped, slamming his glass down. His hands were shaking uncontrollably now. "I loved her and I just..."
He couldn't say it. Couldn't bring himself to put the true horror of what he had done into words.
 Remy knew anyway.
"You're scared you'll kill him too," Remy said plainly. From him, talk about murder sounded like talking about the weather. Like a simple 'Looking good out today, doesn't it?'.
Logan wondered how a person could be this cold. Sometimes Remy scared him. Right now he scared himself.
"Well, I'm pretty sure I can speak for Emile when I say that we won't let that happen. You try to hurt him, we'll break your bones."
The threat was delivered so casually yet it still send shivers down Logan's spine.
 "Don't give him away, Logan."
He took a sip of his drink.
"The kid's all you've got left now. Trust me on this one."
Remy and Emile couldn't do anything if he shut them down. He should have known he'd lose everything one day. People like him didn't get to be happy. Didn't deserve it.
When had he stopped wanting to throw up when he killed a subject during tests?
Why had he ever thought he could raise a child?
Logan took a shot of liquor and cringed. It was that weird stuff he had tried once and decided to never drink again. It tasted even worse than he remembered but the alcohol burned his throat the way he wanted it to.
He had to get his shit together.
One more raid then he'd be able to stay hidden from the public for at least a year.
Part of him wished he hadn't asked Virgil for help on this one.
But he needed someone as agile and small as him. There was no way he'd find someone else in time.
With a sigh he stood up and put on his jacket.
He only had to stay in control of his emotions. That was all.
After tonight he could begin to figure out what had happened to his powers.
Virgil met him on the rooftop near the lab they'd be raiding.
"What's wrong?" were the first words out of his mouth.
"Nothing," Logan lied. "Just... stressed."
Virgil nodded and did something that made strong metal hooks shot out from his underarm armour about an inch from his closed fist. He made the turn so that the curved hook faced out and a flat one in.
"Interesting mechanism," Logan noted.
"They're good for climbing," Virgil grinned. "Came up with it myself."
Pride dared to flutter its waxy wings in his chest and Logan forced it down. It had brought him enough misery already with every time he let it fly, thinking he could stop it from going too high.
"Let's go then," he said instead.
Logan disabled the security doors and set the cameras on loop with his ability and they snuck into the building.
A security guard rounded the corner and tried to grab his walkie-talkie but Logan made it shut off too. One of the lamps burned out with a bang. That hadn't been his intention. That wasn't good.
Why was his control slipping?
Was the security footage even looped properly?
The security guard pulled his gun and pointed at Logan before he froze and looked around confused.
"Where's the kid?" he demanded.
Logan glanced to his left.
Virgil was gone.
Up, his intuition told him but he forced himself not to look.
"How would I know?," he shrugged calmly. He had to stay calm.
A hook swung from the ceiling and hit the man at the temple, hard enough for blood to splash against the metal and the man to drop just like the sidekicks had.
Logan swallowed hard.
Calm.
He had to stay calm.
Virgil landed next to the guards unconscious body.
"Should we hide him?" he asked.
Logan took the guards gun and shook his head.
"We should hurry. Best case we're gone before anyone finds him."
"Okay."
Logan led the way into the underground lab he had worked at what felt like a lifetime ago. Weird how people called him a monster but didn't see the human experiments they conducted around here under orders of the government.
He was a monster, he wouldn't deny that but he was far from the worst one.
At least he didn't pretend to be anything better than he was.
"I'll get the stuff I need up here. The shaft I told you about is behind that door. I disabled the alarms so you just have to make sure you don't fall down," Logan told Virgil. "Do you remember the code?"
"1342-3369," Virgil nodded.
"I can't guarantee that the cameras down there are off so you'll have to be careful."
He ignored the questioning look Virgil shot him and made his way to the main office.
Behind him he heard the door to the elevator shaft open and something get dragged into the opening.
The office was locked.
Logan kneeled down, pulled his lockpick and got to work.
At this time no one should come down here anymore but he still listened carefully for footsteps. Better safe than sorry. The most important rule of any robbery.
The lock clicked open and Logan slipped into the room.
He knew exactly how the files were stored.
He had come up with the system after all.
It took him less than two minutes to find all the files he needed, he quickly flipped through them and put everything else back in its place. He didn't want Laberts to know immediately that he had taken anything.
He went over to the elevator shaft.
Virgil was no where in site. He probably needed a little longer to get the safe open and get everything Logan needed.
He looked around the room and sauntered over to his old desk.
The chair had been replaced. It looked like it had been packed in a plastic bag. He didn't bother sitting down.
There was a picure and he picked it up.
A family of two woman, a toddler and a baby smiled at him.
The frame had been drawn on, probably by the toddler, with shaky hearts, loopy flowers and inept letters spelling out 'Love yuo Momma'.
Logan set it down again and ignored the feeling welling up in his throat. A family picture he had hidden away and done his best to forget came to mind and he pushed it away again.
He heard metal clanck by the elevator and looked up.
"Can you give me a hand here?" Virgil called.
Logan hurried over to him and took the pack Virgil held up for him before taking Virgil's hand and helping him up.
VIrgil let out a breath of air.
"That was a lot of blood," he muttered.
"Are you alright?" Logan asked. He could smell the blood on Virgil.
"I'm fine. Don't think those fellas down there are though."
Logan still gave him a once over to make sure.
"Can we get sushi tonight?" Virgil asked. "I'm hungry."
"Okay," Logan nodded slowly. "Let's get this stuff somewhere safe first."
He just had to stay calm until he was alone. He just had to make sure he didn't hurt Virgil.

As long as I live.
|Pairing: Simon Blackquill x Reader| |Genre: Angst| |Words: 3.029| -----------------------------------------------
[STARTING PROGRAM...]
âCan you hear me?â âYes, bzztâ
[UPPER LIMBS CONNECTION...]
âMove your armsâ
[CHECKED]
âGood.. Now, try move your headâ The woman kept writing notes on both paper and in her computer as the tiny robot answered her commands.
[CERVICAL DYNAMICS...]
âLike this?â Asked the tiny artificial beign as he rotated his head with a full 360.
The woman giggled watching the robot who began to become familiar with his body. âExactly like thatâ
[CHECKED]
âNow.. Try move your body forwardâ
[LOCOMOTION...]
The woman freed the robot from his base, leaving him free to move, then she took some papers from her desk, the papers where she could read all the tests she had to do to the robot. Meanwhile, the subject of these test was wandering around the lab, coming, at the end, near the woman who wore that heavy, dark blue coat,
[CHECKED].
âGood, looks like you are perfectly functional pretty boyâ she patted his head and took a little box from the desk âNow, before the last tests, do you want a name?â she asked while smiling at the tiny beign before her.
âYes! I want a name! A beautiful one! Please mom, give me a name!â
She stopped for a few seconds before leaving free a little laugh from her mouth. âMom you say?â she took a piece of paper and a pen, starting to think for names. âI have a lot of names, but thinking about it, you are the realization of my dream so... Morpheco?â  she turned her head towards the robot that started to party for his new name. âThank you mom!â âYou can search the origing of the name thanks to your brain if you want, in that way we can also make this a testâ she said taking again the paper where she wrote all the results of the previous tests. âmy research tells me that this name is similar to that of an ancient Greek deity, is that right?â He asks while spinning his head from one side to another doubtful âExactly! You know, I have a sister whose name is Athena, like the Greek goddess, so I though about giving a deityâs name to you too, then the â-coâ part is because you already have two sibilings and their names finish both with â-Coâ so I wanted to connect you three with somethingâ she smiled and got up from her chair, taking a box on another chair; her hands took a vial with some blood in it, returning near the robot after she unbuttoned the lowest buttons of her lab coat.
âYouâre special, you know that?â her eyes pointed directly at the screen where the robotâs face was âIn what way?â he asked, curious of understand why he was special âWell, if I say that I love you so much, how would you feel?â âI would feel like the happiest robot in the world!â âAnd if I punch you in the head?â she said and did it, but with the lowest effort in strenght âH-Hey! Of course Iâd be angry at you mom! I did nothing wrong!â he patted the hitted zone âIâm sorry, but, did you know that I have a ot of superpowers?!â the woman said out of nothing, scaring at first the artificial creature âFor real?! What kind of powers do you have?!â he asked like a baby, believing everything she told him âI canât fly, turn invisible or things like that, but I can create a lot of things! Both artificially, like I did with you, and naturally, something Iâm working onâ her laughs filled the phrase, stroking his head gently âBut, you do have superpowers compared to other robots, you and your sibilings, and the answers you gave me are the proof of thisâ âMy answers? So, my feelings?â she nooded âYou have an heart, something that a lot of other robots donât have, you are capable of feel emotions. This makes you more human than any other machineâ
Even if they were a flat screen, the robotâs eyes were trembling with joy, not only life, but this woman gave him an heart to make him more human, a coscience of its own.
âNow! I need to tell you why youâre here and why you have this wonderful thing called âHeartâ; right?â her face was deformed by one of the brightest smiles on heart, her hand pressed a button on Morphecoâs torso and opened a tiny recess where she inserted the blood vial previously taken, pressing again the button. âYour programs should be able to analyze on their own that blood, itâs a sample of my blood; instead to continue talking, I wanted to try all of your abilitiesâ
[ANALYZING...] Blood group:0+ Red blood cells: normal White blood cells: normal Platlets: normal Beta hcCG value: 74.715 Presence of substance HE4 in blood: high
âThe last two results, what are they?â Morpheco asks, confused by the new, unusual informations âYou can search by yourselfâ
After some minutes, one of the two big answers came in
âM-Mom! Iâm going to be a big brother!â he waved his hand in the air from exitment âThatâs it! Isnât it?!â âYes! Yes it itâ she laughed, trying to calm down the robot âSo, you have this big belly because you have a baby in there?â his artificial hands gently touched her stomach from above her clothes âWho is the dad? I want to meet him Heâs also my dad right?â âWe got married a few months ago, so theoretically yes, heâs also your father. His name is Simon, Simon Blackquill and heâs a prosecutorâ âAnd the baby? Itâs a boy or a girl?â âA girl! You are going to have a little sisterâ
But one thing was still to clarify; that substance in her blood, so the system of Morpheco started searching automatically what that was
âM-Mom..â his bubbly and exited attitude vanished in time of one second âThis substance, the HE4, its a protein but, it also indicates the presence of an ovarian cancerâ he looked at that tiny woman as she was tightening the sleeve of her blue jacket âYes, canât deny thatâ she putted on one beautiful smile, looking at the screen on the robotâs face, resting one hand on his head
âI have an ovarian cancer, yes. I have only have three and an half months to live, yes, but I donât want to waste them, as I donât want to ruin my daughterâs life, so thatâs why youâre alive, I need your helpâ she looked right in his eyes, remaining calm despite her shiny eyes âThereâs no time to desperate nowâ
âMOM! This isnât fair! Iâm just born and you are already telling me that you are going to leave me so soon?!â his voice was shaking like the rest of his body âS-Simon- Dad, knows this? Is he helping you?â he hoped for a positive answer; he didnât want to lose his mom so soon. âNo, he doesnât knowâ she sighed and took her head in one hand âHe already has his problems, this isnât the time to share my situation with himâ she watched the ring he gave her the day of their wedding, the day Simon smiled and smiled, nothing else. âMom, just why?! You can go on a cure, you have to save yourself and sister!â but he imagined the answer âItâs too lateâ âHey, your sister will be alright, and, your aunt will help you here at the labâ she tried to talk as she wasnât going to die without the joy, the hope of seeing her babygirl grow. âNow, could you please hear my request? The reason of why Iâve created you?â sobs came out of her mouth as she talked, noticing the nod of the robot to her words. âWhen Iâm gone, would you please, help Simon? Would you be a friend, a brother, someone to count on for my daughter? Please..?â tears started to walk on her cheeks as she took both Morphecoâs hands in hers âThis is your mission, what do you say?â a little smile came in her face as she raised her head. âMom, I-I feel like Iâm wet, inside?â âThis feeling should be the equivalent of our tears, please, donât cry, you are stronger than me, you must beâ âYes. I will help dad, I will be a good brother and someone to count on, I will be everything my sister needs!â his sobs decorated those desperate and sad screams before his sight went blurry.
[LOW BATTERY, TURNING OFF IN 1 MINUTE]
âIt seems like you have to go to sleep, thank you for everything... In these days Iâll teach you everything you want to knowâ she pressed te button behind the head and the screen turned off.
Morpheco was brought back to its base to recharge and as soon as she picked all her papers, Ms. Blackquill left her lab.
Bad luck.
For once, Simon came to pick her up from work and he was right outside the door, back resting on the wall and his hand on his eyes, trembling.
Her blood froze in that istant and the heart stopped for a few seconds; she wanted so much to run inside the lab again and hide herself from reality, but her body approached the man in front of her, picking his free hand. âHey beautiful, what are you doing here?â she acted like nothing happened, trying to keep inside the tears âWhen were you going to tell me? When youâd be one step from the grave?â he sounded cold, but his words trembled. âYou understand that someone canât get to know these kind of informations while the direct interested is talking with a robot. With a robot and not with her husbandâ he hated raising his voice to her, but he was panicking.
Him, a former jailer, couldnât see himself as a single dad. Even with the help of Aura or Athena, or that robot, he wonât be able to have the confidence needed to raise a child. She remained in silence, knowing that she had made one of the biggest error in her life if not the biggest. âI tought youâd start hating me because I stopped you from comng at the echography, thatâs when Iâve discovered it... I touhgt that would be an echography like any otherâ âYou think too muchâ he freed his hand from herâs, walked away, trying to make the picture of the situation. Her heart started to fall in pieces, but she wasnât mad at Simon, he was right, she was wrong. âIâm sorry, I realize now that I should have told you sooner and of my own free will, but I have created that robot, Morpheco, so that he will be by your side when it is neede-â âI need you by my side, not a fucking robot!â
Slowly her eyes pointed down, her brain stopped thinking about answers, she just fixed her papers and went to the elevator. As if he had teleported, Simon was behind her, and he selected the ground floor to go home.
He put one hand on her belly and his forehad on her head âIâm sorry, I didnât want to raise my voiceâ he cuddled slowly her big belly, feeling some movements in it âSheâs still movingâ he smiled and kissed her head âOne last month and she wonât be there anymore, sheâs enjoing her timeâ she laughed softly and put her hand on his, trying to free Simon from her hair. His eyes were shining with tears as he slowly began to realize everything âI donât want to be alone again and our daughter needs a momâ âI know that more than anything, and I feel so bad for this..â she squeezed his hand with strenght, turning her head towards his chest, feeling finally protected from everything when his arm held her close. âI guess in these last months we should to get used to this futureâ he his once again his face in her hair, keeping her close at his body.
âIâll go on loving you, for as long as I live.â Months passed and they brought with them a big surprise; after the birth Blackquill heir was born, the contractions continued and it came to light that between the two things that could go unnoticed on the day of the echography, that was just the presence of a second fetus, developed long after the first: born prematurely but healthy as a fish was a little boy of just under two kilos.
Just after another day in court, Simon returned home but the silence strangely reigned, but luckly, entering the bedroom found those two trublemakers asleep with their beautiful mom. âYouâre home late tonightâ she said once Simon sat on the bed âWhy youâre awake?â he discussed with a tired voice âI donât want to sleep tonight, Iâm scaredâ the fluids of the drip attached to her arm continued to make noise at every drop that fell âI feel like, if I sleep tonight, tomorrow I wonât wake upâ she held the two babies in her arms, moving them gently to make them sleep âCome hereâ Simonâs heart began to beat wildly and tremble like a leaf as he took the three small forms in his arms âThat robot turned out to be a lot more useful than I thought in these monthsâ he tried to avoid the direct topic right now, he could already feel the tears in his eyes âYou see? Iâve made it, so of course it would have been usefulâ her smile did nothing but break more efficiently Simonâs heart âTheyâre in good handsâ she cuddled both Simonâs and the babiesâ faces, coughing after taking some air.
They both could feel that her life was coming to itâs end, they both werenât ready; she didnât want to leave her family, he didnât want to lose the love of his life and be alone, once again.
âYou know that I will love no more after you? You that were the start of my real life and my first love, first and only loveâ He gently pulled his fingers between her hair âYou have to find someone else, someone who doesnât keep secretsâ she giggled at her own words âShut up. You see this? This is the proof that I loved you and that I will always do, even if I wonât be able to touch your skin anymoreâ he said, touching the wedding ring on your finger with hisâ âI only need our children and you to be happy, nothing more, âSimon... I donât want to leaveâ she started crying without too much noises to not wake up the babies âPlease, keep me awake, I want to stay with you another day, I want to see the babies growâ her sobs were suffocated in his chest, as his hand slowly passed from her hair to the babiesâ heads âDo you remember the first time we met? You were so cheerful, Athena was so curious and happy to be with youâ âYou were too much devoted to my mom, you never smiled but you were kind and sweetâ she smiled between her tears, covering Simonâs body with the heavy blankets.
They continued to talk about their past together fot minutes and hours, but diseases make people tired, and her wish to stay awake slowly faded away, but thanks to Simonâs words, she didnât even realize the fact that she was slowly falling asleep.
âSimon, you know that I love you?â her tired eyes looked towards him as she continued to cough due to her sickness âIf you know it now, please donât forget it. You will be the best father in the world even without me, youâve been my best friend, my brother, then my partner and now my husband and father of my children, you will do fineâ her smile was printed on her lips and the coughs never stopped as she talked âPlease, donât give up, keep going for them..â she took his hands and slowly pressed her lips on his. She didnât want to ruin his life like that, she didnât want him to feel so bad that he cried at her, she didnât want to die, she didnât want to see him try to keep her to himself in those childish ways, but she had zero control over the situation.
âI love youâ one last wisper came out from her lips before her head fell on the pillow, asleep.
Simon watched her figure with tears in the eyes, keepig her hand in hisâ and letting then himself fall into Morpheusâ arms, tired both physically and mentally.
The alarm ended Simonâs sleep, which stretched to the bedside table to turn it off. He rubbed his eyes and sat on the mattress, stretched his back and tried to wake up despite that grip that held his heart. Â
âIf I sleep tonight, tomorrow I wonât wake upâ
His head snapped towards the other side of the bed.
His face became gloomy, he felt something inside him shatter.
She was gone. He looked at her in all her beauty, immaculate and illuminated by the morning sun; her purple lips, her eyelids closed and her hair messed on the pillow made her one of the most beautiful visions of his life, if only her body had kept her soul with it.
He then looked at his two babies, still asleep in the most peaceful sleep, in the most comfy arms.
His hand kept on holding hers, now cold like ice but still beautiful like no one elseâs.
He took the babies from her arms and brought them back to their room. He hoped that she was on her feet again when he came back, but nothing.
Simon laid down next to her and brought the finger with the ring to his mouth, trembling like a scared baby, trying ro squeeze her hand with all of his strenght to make her react.
Useless.
He just stayed there, powerless and broken inside, waiting for a call from his hungry children.
âPlease... Please come back...â.

Wangxian Week Day 5
Past | Future | Mythology AU
Title: The Birth of a God
Author: wangxian rabbit
Rating: T
Warnings: character death
Summary: When a hero who helped the gods fight the tyrant fire god is turned on and killed by the same gods he helped, the moon god will do anything to save his beloved.
Among all the gods, there was one that not many people knew about. Even the other gods didnât interact with this god. This god was known to take in young orphaned mortal children and train them to become great heroes. Her name was Baoshan Sanren. One of her most famous disciples was a woman named Cangse Sanren. This woman was well known for breaking rules and getting into trouble. She was very much the definition of a free spirit. She attracted many suitors, even gods, but in the end she married an ordinary mortal man. With him, she had a son, Wei Wuxian.
One day, while helping a small village with its demon problem, she was killed, along with her husband, leaving their young son alone. For a few years, their son struggled to get by, stealing food when he had to. Then one day, a rich looking man in purple robes appeared before him. The man claimed to have known his mother and wished to help him. The man took him to the temple of the water god, Jiang Fengmian, and he told the boy that heâd visit often and bring him food, clothes, and anything else heâd need.
Years had passed and the boy was now fifteen. Over the years, the man heâd started to call âuncleâ had taught him how to hunt and fight. His daughter and son had stopped by when they could over the years as well and they all grew quite close. They considered each other siblings at that point.Â
One day, while out hunting in the forest near the temple, he ran into a young man in white robes. The man was so handsome, otherworldly so. The man seemed to radiate light. His golden eyes seemed to glow. When the young man noticed him staring, he started to walk away. Wei Wuxian tried to follow him, but the man turned around a tree and vanished. Wei Wuxian believed heâd just seen a ghost.
Soon enough, the fire god started a war against the other gods, trying to become the ruler of everything. He burned down temples, killed many mortals, and even killed a few gods. Wei Wuxian, having grown up hearing stories of his mother and other heroes as well as being a prodigy when it came to fighting, chose to fight on the side of the other gods.
There were many gods, demigods, and even some mortals who fought the fire god, Wen Ruohan. Everything became truly serious to the gods when he attacked the home of the sky god, Cloud Recesses. In the attack, the Cloud Recesses was burned, the sun god disappeared, plunging the world into constant darkness, the moon god became seriously injured, and the sky god himself became fatally wounded, dying soon after.
Hearing this, Wei Wuxian decided to do something that nobody else would dare to do, scared of what the consequences would be. He attacked the fire godâs temple, burning it to ashes. This infuriated the fire god. Not only had he attacked his temple, but doing so with his own element, what a bold move. The fire god started hunting Wei Wuxian down. When the fire godâs second son, Wen Chao, was close to finding him, the water god stepped in. Wei Wuxian was confused when his uncle appeared to him.Â
âWe havenât got much time. Quickly now,â his uncle urged him. He held his hand out to Wei Wuxian and once he took it, they teleported somewhere heâd never been before. The place was beautiful. They were in a palace surrounded by a huge lake full of lotus flowers.Â
âWhatâs going on?â Wei Wuxian asked.
âI guess itâs time I properly introduced myself. My name is Jiang Fengmian,â his uncle smiled.
âWait, youâre the water god?â Wei Wuxian asked in disbelief.
âYes, I knew your mother many years ago. When she married your father and had you, I promised her that if anything happened to them, Iâd look after you. Iâll admit, it took me a while to track you down, but I did eventually. I raised you so that you could choose what you wanted for your life. I never imagined youâd burn down a godâs temple though.â
Before Wei Wuxian could respond, a woman marched into the room. The woman demanded angrily why Jiang Fengmian would bring this troublemaking boy into their home, claiming that all heâd do is bring them problems. Jiang Fengmian argued with his wife and tried to diffuse the situation, but his wife just stormed off.
Sadly, the lightning goddess had been right. Once Wen Ruohan found out that Jiang Fengmian brought Wei Wuxian into his home, he attacked Lotus Pier and burned it to the ground. Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan were both killed in the attack when they were protecting their children and Wei Wuxianâs retreat.
Afterwards, they took refuge where the other gods set up camp. This is where he finally met the man from the woods. The young man was introduced as Lan Wangji, the moon god. Wei Wuxian instantly took an interest in the god and stuck to him whenever possible. At first, Lan Wangji hated being around him, but throughout the course of the war, they became closer.Â
Soon enough, the sun returned and the world was once again bright. It was revealed that the sun god, Lan Xichen, had been told by his uncle to take what he could from their library and flee. Lan Xichen hadnât wanted to leave them, but did as his uncle ordered. He had taken refuge in the mortal world with a young demigod son of Jin Guangshan, the god of riches.
The war ended when the sun and war gods were directly fighting Wen Ruohan and the demigod son of Jin Guangshan, Meng Yao, had stabbed the fire god in the back with a heavenly weapon. The fire god had perished and order was once again restored. A leader of a branch family who had acted as a medic throughout the war, Wen Qing, took the place and title of the fire goddess. Jiang Cheng had taken up his motherâs title as the new lightning god while his sister became the new water goddess. The two siblings rebuilt Lotus Pier as well as helping the other gods where they could. Since Meng Yao had killed Wen Ruohan himself, he was granted godhood and renamed âJin Guangyaoâ.
In the following years, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji had become so close that they were believed to be lovers by the other gods. The two were oblivious of the otherâs feelings though, so no intimate relationship actually occurred. They just remained close friends. In the meantime, Jin Guangyao had started scheming for a way to take the throne of the gods for himself and he needed someone to be his scapegoat. He saw the close relationship that Wei Wuxian, a mere human, had with the moon god and decided that he was the perfect one to cast the blame on.
In the end, the gods turned on the hero that had helped them so long ago except for his siblings and Lan Wangji. The moon god tried to defend and protect him, but it was no use. Wei Wuxian ended up being killed and Lan Wangji was left to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart.Â
Lan Wangji decided that he would bring Wei Wuxian back no matter what and set out for the Underworld soon after. Once there, he met with the god of the dead, Mo Xuanyu, and asked him to return Wei Wuxian to him. At first, Mo Xuanyu denied his request, saying that once someone died, they couldnât be brought back. Lan Wangji continued to press him and eventually Mo Xuanyu granted him permission to see Wei Wuxian, but still told him that Wei Wuxian couldnât leave since he was dead.
Wei Wuxian was summoned to the palace of the dead to see Lan Wangji. âWhy are you here?â Wei Wuxian asked him.
âCome to bring you back,â Lan Wangji explained.
âYou canât. Iâm dead. The dead can never leave the Underworld.â Wei Wuxian seemed confused by Lan Wangji.
âThereâs a way.â
âWhat? How do you expect to do that? Anyways, what could I do if you somehow brought me back. The other gods would just kill me again. Dying once was enough for me, thank you.â
Lan Wangji didnât say anything, instead reaching into his chest and pulling a ball of light out. Wei Wuxianâs eyes widened when he saw it, âIs that... is that your heavenly core? What do you plan to do with that?â
As a reply, Lan Wangji tore it in half. He placed half back within himself and pushed the other into Wei Wuxianâs chest. Lan Wangji had just given up some of his godly essence to turn Wei Wuxian into a god. âNow you can leave.â
âLan Zhan! No! I canât take this! Take it back, take it back please! This is too much!â Wei Wuxian pleaded.Â
Lan Wangji shook his head.
âIâll still be hated and killed! I donât want you to waste your core on me!â
âNot a waste.â
âBut-â
âReturn to Gusu with me.â
âWhat, I canât possibly. Iâll only damage your reputation.â
âItâs fine. Return with me.â
âI canât. You know this.â
âYou were framed.â
âWhat?â Wei Wuxian couldnât believe what was being said.
âYou were framed,â Lan Wangji repeated. âWe will find the culprit and clear your name.â
âEven if I was framed, what makes you believe that we can find the culprit? It wonât end well for either of us if I leave here.â
âLove Wei Ying.â
âWhat? What did you just say?â Wei Wuxian had to ask. He mustâve heard him wrong. There was no way that Lan Wangji felt the same way.
âLove Wei Ying. Return with me. Please.â Lan Wangji looked so serious that Wei Wuxian believed him.
âYou really wonât take no for an answer, will you? Fine then. Youâve already given me part of your core to save me. I guess I owe it to you then,â Wei Wuxian finally accepted reluctantly. âBy the way,â he whispered into Lan Wangjiâs ear, âI love you too.â
Lan Wangjiâs ears burned a bright red, but a smile could be seen on his face.

PANIC! AT THE DISCO
Whumptober 2020 no. 18 (posted on day 8) Title: Panic Fandom: Final Fantasy VII Prompt: Panic Attacks | Phobias| Rating: T, Characters: Vincent Valentine, Words: 1341
Tags: panic attacks, paranoia, character backstory
AO3 Link  Summary: Ever since he was a child, Vincent has always been sensitive to the energy of death. His father promised him he would always be there for him. But who could save him now that he was a Turk?
ξγΝ 1974 May 18. 22:14. Junon.
Why did it have to be a morgue? Vincent shivered as he took in his surroundings; the revolting smell of decay mixed with embalming fluid and the frigid air made his skin crawl. He had to focus, this was an easy, yet still important assignment. Just find the targetâs autopsy report, replace it with the forged copy, and get the hell out of here. This should have been an easy mission for a member of the Turks, so why couldnât he just get it over with?
Vincent had always been sensitive to the energy of death, the invisible force of the lifestream that surrounded decomposing corpses, giving him extreme anxiety and terror. It made his job a lot harder; being a part of the professional mercenary organization meant sometimes needing to assassinate a target. It was always excruciating to carry out those sentences, the overwhelming feel of the lifestreamâs pull on the dead in sick harmony with the guilt of ending a life--as if he needed to be punished further.
Perhaps it had stemmed from an incident in his childhood. His father was an archeologist, and the Valentine family lived in a small flat above the laboratory which often held artifacts or exhumed skeletons of ancient humans. One evening, when he was about five or six years old, his mother told him to the library to remind his father to finish his work and eat dinner with them. So he playfully skipped downstairs, proud that he could go all by himself this time. The door was unlocked so he let himself into the dark room in which his father was nowhere to be seen. On the examining table in the center of the room were a dozen or so human skulls of some ancient civilization. Vincent called out for his father, his voice shook with fright. The closer he stepped toward them, the more intense was the sensation of deathâs energy piercing through his soul.
There came a point where it felt like something was squeezing his chest, knocking out the air in his lungs and making his heart feel like it was about to be crushed. He was cold, his hands shook, and he started screaming and didnât stop. Vincent didnât remember what happened after that, his father told him years later. Grimoire had been with his colleagues in his office when he heard the young boyâs screams of terror. He rushed to him, fell to his knees as he tried to get his attention but to no avail. His mother heard it from upstairs and ran as fast as she could to save him. The young Vincent kept screaming and screaming despite his parentsâ desperate attempts to calm him down.
His mother yelled at his father demanding to know what happened to which he vehemently insisted he didnât know. Grimoire carried him upstairs to their room where his mother held him tightly as he continued to shriek in terror. One of the other researchers from the lab phoned a doctor who came to their home and sedated the boy after he had been screaming incessantly for over an hour. The doctor examined him once he fell asleep, but couldnât find any evidence of physical injury. When Grimoire recounted this to Vincent years later, he said that somehow that was more terrifying to him. At least an injury was an explanation, but his distraught parents were denied one of any kind.
After that, his mother stayed by him nearly every waking moment, never allowing her eyes off him for even a minute. His father refrained from his work for a few days to care for them. Vincent never spoke those days. She cried every night after the boy had fallen asleep, confiding in her husband that she worried their son would never speak again and never understand why this had happened. Grimoire assured her that even if Vincent did lose his ability to speak, they would adjust to it and love him all the same. It was weeks later when the boy could say anything. It was the middle of the night, after his mother had fallen asleep but his father remained studying at his desk. Vincent quietly slipped out of the bed, careful not to wake his mother next to him and went to his father.
âDad,â he said in almost a whisper. Grimoire was startled but his expression quickly became one of joy when he realized the voice he heard was his sonâs.
âVincent, itâs nice to hear you again.â
âDad, I wanna be a monster.â
This sudden confession perplexed his father, and Vincent was never really sure why he said such a thing whenever he recollected this conversation. Grimoire hid his worry and confusion of why this would be the first thing the boy would say. âOh? What kind of monster do you want to be?â he said as he lifted the child onto his lap
âA big scary one. With fur and horns. Big teeth and claws, and maybe a tail too.â
âAnd why do you want to be such a scary monster?â
âBecause monsters donât have to be afraid of anything if everything else is afraid of them.â
âWell, Iâm sorry to tell you that even monsters are afraid sometimes. They have to fear bigger monsters and humans with guns. All creatures on this planet feel fear, and thatâs not a bad thing, Vincent. Fear is our mindâs way of keeping us safe, so we know to stay away from danger.â
âIf Iâm not afraid, Iâll end up like the skeletons in your lab.â
Grimoire was completely taken aback. He paused, carefully considering his words. âDid seeing those skeletons make you feel afraid?â Vincent nodded. âSo thatâs what happened. Iâm so sorry you had to see that and that it scared you so much. But youâre alright now because I am here, and I wonât let anything bad happen to you. Mom is here too. We are always here for you, Vincent. Always.
That was a lie. Anger always consumed him when Vincent replayed that conversation from his memory. His parents couldnât protect him; his mother had been dead for over a decade and he was estranged from his father who had chosen his research over helping his son.
His only family now were the Turks--the mercenaries who had taken him in and made him a professional criminal. They took him in as a lonely and frightened teenager and trained him to kill and torture without any hint of emotion. They convinced him to trade his soul in exchange for praise and a place to stay--a twisted, psychotic chosen family. Maybe he didnât need fur and claws after all. He was a monster in human skin.
But the horror of deathâs presence never eased its assault on Vincentâs soul. No matter how many corpses he found himself around, he could never ignore the energy of death--a twisted gift from the lifestream. He couldnât ignore it, but he could force himself to push through it.
Now his hands were shaking. He fought through the panic in his chest as he read and re-read the charts on the doors of the morgue. The pain intensified with each second spent in this place, spreading from his heart and traveling up his spine to his head--throbbing in his temple. Taking a breath was a fight in itself. Finally, he found the poor sapâs autopsy report. His fingers fumbled as he took the paper and replaced it with the forged copy. But it was finished. Time to get the hell out of here.
Vincent hurried out of the room, but taking caution to stay quiet in case some hospital employee was nearby. Fortunately this ward was empty after hours, and his partner Veld was manipulating the security footage now. Every step away from the horrid place, a breath of air refreshed him. The pain in his chest and head faded replacing it with an acute sense of light-headedness.
Vincent wouldnât be sleeping tonight.

đŁđąđŽ đđťđ¸đđˇ đđťđ˛đˇđŹđŽđźđź- Chapter 9
đ¸đđ đŞđ đŚ đ đ¨đ đđ¤ đŞđ đŚđŁđ¤đđđ
Let it go, let it leave, let it happen. Nothing in this world was promised or belonged to you anyway. â Rupi Kaur.
Chapter  1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6 7 8 <- hereÂ
(Adelaide Archeronâs âpaintingâ up above)
With Randolph being gone for extended periods of time Romella had descended upon Prythian much to her sisterâs delight.
Nesta had taken an instant liking to her aunt. Her aunt told her stories from all over the world, stories from the other side of Prythian. Nesta was told her family history and she was so excited to be a part of a family with Fae blood.
Nesta was perfect. She was moulded to be like that.
Sent to Etiquette school at 8. She was taught how to play instruments, she was taught ballet, waltz. She was taught etiquette rules from different kingdoms, she knew 5 different languages by the time she was 10. 9 languages by the time she was 11.
But then one day as she was skimming through the library she felt a surge of power burst fromâŚher. She was scared, crying, screaming.
âIts fine Nesta,â Adelaide said bursting through the library doors. Romella clinging to her sisterâs side.
She slipped on an iron bangle on Nestaâs wrist. Nestaâs golden skin paled. Suddenly weak.
She gathered the skirts of her blue gown and strode through the halls.
That night, Adelaide and Romella stepped out of the mansion in their hooded cloaks and saddled their horses. Romella carrying Elain as she mounted her horse, Adelaide carrying Feyre, Nesta at front. Their midnight cloaks flowed behind them. They went to the people of the Hill.
Algeron came to them.
âMy Lady, whatâs wrong?â
âNesta,â She pushed Nesta in front, âHad her first powers this morning, I need to know-Elain and Feyre will they have their Settling when theyâre older too?â
He took each sleeping child in his hands brushing a hand over his brows. âNo, they will one day possess powers but not because of their Fae heritage.â
Nesta looked up to the ethereal, towering man.
âIs our fae heritage something to be ashamed of?â
He beckoned her closer, âMy dear, your power is an entity of great beauty,â he made a mist figure of a female with beautiful powers helping humans, âBut also an entity of great danger and fear, which will incite people to harm and hurt you.â The mist female was smothered by the same people she helped when her power got out of control, Nesta gasped. âThe human race is very narrow-minded. Therefore we must try to smother your fae powers.â
âI was proud of my powers.â
âI am afraid my love, there will come a day where you will have to learn to master a power much greater than this, and that power will make you one of the most powerful females of your time.â
She nodded, âMy people will show you to conceal your power. There are not many rules. Donât let it consume you; your coldness will shove it down. The less people there are, the less people getting hurt.â
She left to the females in emerald gowns beckoning to her.
Romella turned to Algeron, âIâm training her.â
Algeron said to her, âThere is a great danger coming to her. She must remain defenceless. The Lord above demands it.â
âI donât care. I am not letting her be defenceless.â
âElla-â but Romella had left to go to Nesta.
âLeave her Adelaide; she will not stop the inevitable. Let her try to soothe her tormented heart.â
The green mist changed the scene to Nesta in the bottom floor of her fatherâs ship checking the new goods. She twirled a diamond chain around her fingers. A thud came from behind she picked up a dagger in a crate next to her.
âCome out, Ruffianâ She shouted, âI am the heiress to the Archeron Mantle and I will not be afraid of a vagabond.â
A young boy stood up from the inside of a crate.
âCome into the light.â
He stepped through his hands up in his defence; he had blue eyes with emerald flecks. And pointed ears.
She dropped the dagger, gasping.
She crossed the distance and pushed his hair behind his ears.
âMr Stowaway you are fae,â she breathed.
His eyes were pleading, âPlease my family- they, I have nowhere to go- please just let me walk off this ship safely and you will never hear from me again.â
âOh no no, you must come with me to my mother, she will help you.â He was confused.
âHelp?â
âOh yes, sheâll know what to do, sheâs half fae herself, donât worryâŚâ
âOliverâŚOliver Bondavich.â
She smiled.
The green mist changed the scene again
Christiana had brought her child to meet her sister. Audrey Astor. Audrey, Nesta, Clare and Oliver became as thick as thieves fast. Romella had now met Adelaide every day to strengthen the glamour being put on her whole body to hide the baby bump. Randolph came home for a fortnight at the best, and Adelaide would feign sickness and stay in her room. Then Jonah was born and he was beautiful and Adelaide had begged Drian take him to Rask which he did, but Drian didnât want to announce him as the heir to the throne, instead he made the first child love his heir. He made Nesta his heir. He had taken Nesta to Rask to meet his mother Vera. Veraâs heart broke at the sight of the small child shackled with an iron bangle.
Then came The Dark Fae. In her last attempt to change her daughtersâ fate she called upon some really ethereal people. People who had stuck to their Godâs scriptures and called upon different sources of power, the fae people called them witches and warlocks. The parties she threw were now a cover up. King Peirce of the Dark Fae came with his two sons Torin and Tyrus. Nesta took an instant liking to both of them but the bond of a childhood sweetheart formed between her and the boy who kept himself hidden between the worn pages of old books. The boy she stayed with next to that oak tree in front of her fatherâs house.
Nesta with her dimples and fringe stepped onto the balcony. She eyed the young boy reading a worn out book. His dark hair fell over his face, his knees curled to his chest.
âHiâ No answer.
She cleared her throat, âHello.â
He slowly looked up trying to drink in the last few words on the page. He looked at her with curious grey eyes.
âIs my brother causing any issues?â
She chuckled, âNo, no not at all. On the contrary he is proving to be quite theâŚlife of the party.â He went back to his book but she wasnât quite finished, âHas Stephen found out about his cousinâs weird obsession yet.â
He looked up in shock, âItâs not an obsession!â
âYes it is! Which man would spend his life wanting to be immortal instead of living it to the fullest?!â
âSome people die young and get buried at an older age.â
âGood point. But he killed children.â
âWhich is what makes this story so compellingâŚ?â He paused, âWhat was your name again?â He dropped his legs of the bench. She sat next to him.
âNesta.â He held out his hand.
âTyrus.â She shook it.
The green mist changed the scene. Their clasped hands being the last image to change.
The day before everything changed. Tyrus and Torin had become frequent visitors. But something in Tyrus had started changing. He had realised that he was getting to close to Nesta, the feelings were not able to be controlled, and he hated that. The voices in his head made him think twice, they told him to leave her. And he, not possessing the courage to deny them came one day to her house under the cover of night.
âTy!!â Nesta ran into his arms. He memorised the feel of her under his fingertips. If he didnât push her away now he wouldnât be able to do what he had to.
âNesta, we need to talk.â
Her face scrunched in confusion.
âI am letting you go. I am setting you free.â
Her face scrunched up again but this time tears were forming, âWhat do you mean?â
âFriendship was ok, but loveâŚis impossible.â
âWhat-what why? Did I-Iâ her face fell and she took a shuddering breath.
âYou donât mean that.â
He had to be cruel now. âReally? Youâre sure I donât? Please Nesta a relationship between us would never work out! Loving you would mean destroying me. You would die in the next 70 years anyway what would I do then wallow in grief? No, thatâs not me.â
She held a hand at her throat, trying and failing to keep her sobs in. Audrey came out.
âNes-Tyrus?
She took a look at Nestaâs face.
Tyrus kept his eyes on Nesta, âGoodbye Nesta.â
He turned leaving.
Nesta sank to the floor; her hand outstretched trying to form the words to stop his leaving figure.
Audrey wrapped her hands around Nestaâs shoulders.
âNesta. He is not coming back.â
âHe has too,â she sobbed.
After that Nesta had asked Romella to start her training. It went on for months and Nesta had developed muscle memory but it was all about to die out.
Ollieâs power was getting vicious he was having sudden outbursts and since iron would permanently harm him, Adelaide was helpless. Nesta, Audrey, Clare and Ollie were in the old clock tower looking down on the village when Ollie had his second outburst. All three of the girls were flung back rendering them unconscious. The surge of power did not go unnoticed by the villagers.
In his last attempt Oliver hid the girls in the corner. Upon seeing his pointed ears the villagers, in their fear had locked him in a cage of ash.
When Adelaide found out she went mad. She sent her sisters away, she sent away Jonah, and she sent away any trace of magic from their lives. But when Nesta woke up there was no force alive stopping her from saving her best friend and ensuring her family got away safely.
Nesta ran, her hooded cloak trailing behind her in the mud. She hid an axe under her cloak. Getting in was the harder part but she had managed with Clareâs help to create a diversion.
âOllie!â She held up the axe.
âNesta! You should not be here!!!â
âDonât tell me what to do!!â She swung the axe on the ash bars.
âYou are rubbish at yielding that!â
âDonât make me swing it on your face!â
She managed to make a permissible hole which he wsa bale to climb through.
As they were running out a village boy had seen the hole.
âThe Fae monsterâs gone!â
They ran.
As they ran into the woods, where Feyre would one day hunt to provide for her family Nesta said,
âGo! Thereâs a ship waiting for you, Aunt Christie is taking you all to Rask for safety, Go!â
He hugged her tightly, âOn one condition, you promise me youâll go straight home, no looking back understood?â
She softened, kissing his cheek, âYes, now go.â
He nodded and kissed her cheek running off into the dense forest to the sound of the trees.
As his figure disappeared, Nesta whispered,
âIâm sorry Ollie.â The only promise she would ever break.
She ran into the opposite direction, making as much noise as possible, rustling leaves making yelps.
The squiresâ men saw her hooded figure and made a run for her, she let herself get caught. They had fallen into her trap.
âSheâs a Randolph Archeronâs girl be soft with her men,â The squire himself had arrived he knelt down, âListen sweetie, you tell me where that fae boy is and Iâll let you hurry on home, how about that?â
She spat in his face.
He took out his hankie, wiped his face and addressed his men.
âOld boy Randolph isnât home for weeks; he doesnât need to know anything.â He chuckled at the coldness on her face, âA few weeks in the mental asylum ought to fix her.â
Her face drained of colour but she didnât yield.
The scene changed to Nesta being dragged by her hair to the mental asylum. As she went in and the bars clanged shut.
Everything went silent.
And then the void filled with a whip slapping against skin and bone-shattering shrieks. They had taken a child and they were torturing her.
The squire in fear of Nestaâs father returning had let her out. Nesta had come out physically and mentally broken. Hostile and cold. She came out to find her mother dying.
Feyre and Elain thought that Nesta had been travelling with their father. A weak lie fed by their mother.
Her motherâs last words to her,
âNesta, warriors are not meant to be coddled, take your shadow off Feyre let her live however she wants to, Do. Not. Stop. Her. Feyre knows what she needs to do.â Her eyes softened, âI will weep in my grave because my gender stopped me from being able to protect my daughter. I am so sorry Nesta, I love you.â
Nesta wept, âI love you too, please.â
Her motherâs eyes drooped, she let out a last shuddering breath and her hand caressed her daughterâs cheek once more.
 The scene changed.
âTHE FAE PEOPLE CAN SAVE HER!â Nesta screamed.
âI AM NOT RISIKING THAT!â Randolph roared back.
Nesta sobbed leaving to see her mother one more time, she had tried for the past hour to deal with her father, but he didnât budge.
Once more the memory in front of them changed.
It was a pregnant Adelaide with playing with two-yaer-old Nesta on the grass. They were on the floor, their heads next to each other. Cloud watching. Â
âMomma?â
âYes darling?â
âWhat if youâre gone and Iâm still here?â
Adelaide stilled, âWell thenâŚYouâll be all big and you wonât need me anymore.â
She considered, âI donât think Iâll ever stop needing you.â
The green mist blew once like a roaring fire.
Clare came to her, next to the oak tree, âFeyreâs gone. Youâve tried to bring her back. What are you gonna do now?â
Nesta brushed her hand over the tree, âI wait.â
Clare nodded wrapping her hand around Nestaâs waist, âQuick question, Nes are you waiting for him?â
âNo, Iâm done with that other life. I need to focus.â
The mist roared again.
A few years after Nesta had left the night court she had gone back to their old mansion in the continent. She coughed as she pushed the heavy doors. She trailed down the ghost like hallways. After her mother died her father had taken all these paintings and had put them in her motherâs childhood room. She pushed the door of the childhood room and let out a gasp. She sat in front of the paintings.
She stroked the painting,
âHey momma.â
The green mist flared and died out.

83. âIf you want me, come and get me, motherfuckers.â (boeser and pettersson) kinda has a pissed brock defending petey vibe lol
disclaimer: this is a scarlet letter au! because im stupid! and i have no ideas or originality!Â
in this universe, people are very homophobic and it is outrightly viewed as a sin. there are no specifics in which there are derogatory terms used. however, there is a confrontational scene where homophobia leads to violence. (the violence is just swearing, but there are no derogatory terms used such as the f word.)
im sorry. but have the scarlet letter au :)
Elias is new to New England. He cannot deny that. The colony is chafing and restrictive, nothing like the wondrous sanctuary that his mother and father once thought it was supposed to be. The climate is harsh, probably not as harsh as Sweden, and the people are stifling. The land and surrounding vegetation are telling of the colonyâs future, with its powdery and infertile soil and a multitude of weeds sprung up throughout the area. It will be bleak and miserable. It was nothing like what his parents intended.Â
At first, New England seemed to be an adventure worth living to experience. The settlers had convinced his family with bold fantasies of a life away from claustrophobic Europe to a place where a new community was to be made; a new religion, a new society, a new start. His parents had believed it, and so had he.Â
The journey there had been rough; the toiling ocean had been an angry god. The waves had crashed upon their ship ceaselessly, ramming upon the oaken wood with the harsh force of a thousand bulls. They had lost a large portion of their peopleâtheir, Elias laughs to himself, he cannot believe he thinks he is a part of this colonyâ, including his parents and his brother.Â
Elias was no stranger to death. It seemed to follow him like an evil fiend, one that was ready to take from him everything except his own life.Â
But even after his familyâs passing, he thinks he would have been able to push on and make a living for himself. Yes, he definitely could have lived in this New England society, if only it were not for the mindset of the people. If only he had not journeyed with this specific group of people. If onlyâŚ

âThis boy! Thisâthis wretched wisp of a sinner! How dare he trample upon our consecrated soil that we have just come to bless with our settlement?â a woman exclaimed haughtily, standing near the makeshift scaffold. Her face was wrinkled in an unattractive manner, the shadows draping across the creases in her skin and creating harsh concavity to her visage.Â
âAnd with another man!â another woman gasped, her eyes filled with anger and fear.Â
âNow, now, he wasnât ever part of our community. Remember, he came to us with his parents from Sweden. We can all discern what type of people are born and bred in those areas.â The woman who made this comment seemed to be wiser, yet her wisdom seemed to strangle its receivers rather than placate and inspire them.Â
âThe nerve for him not to reveal the identity of the other sinner. He should be thankful that the punishment wasnât dictated to be harsher,â one of the older women huffed, still managing to maintain an air of dignity about her despite the repulsion she felt.
âHush, ladies! Are we not women of proper breeding and state? We shouldnât bow down to the boyâs level and consecrate ourselves. Look! Here he comes!â The young woman who spoke pointed her finger at the prison door, which had been pushed open to make way for the young man. She held her child in her arms as the group of spectators diverted their piercing gaze to the iron door.
The young man walked out with disdain in his footsteps. His gaze was cool and sharp, surveying the rest of the community with ice in his light, blue eyes. He was tall and lanky in a way that introduced a sense of elegance to the people who laid eyes on his figure. It could be seen that he came from a line of high standing, not necessarily in royalty but certainly in human nature.Â
âHe thinks heâs better than us!â the first woman shrieked again, holding an affronted hand to her chest.Â
The young man, having climbed up the stairs to the scaffold just then, turned his long neck and stared into the eyes of the woman who had shrieked the statement aloud. His gaze instilled fear into the womanâs heart; a type of fear that seemed to pierce all the way into the marrow of her bones. She averted his gaze, instead focusing on the black letter S that had been inked into the centre of his chest.Â
The young manâs gaze followed the womanâs down to the mark marring his skin. The action seemed to shake the man up, as he clenched his jaw and whipped his head away from the group of women, leaving the first woman to smirk inwardly.Â
Elias seemed to have no place in this godforsaken community.
_________
When Elias is rid of the stupid criminal sentence that the community forces him to endure, he moves to a cabin near the sea. Itâs a nice, cozy place close enough to hear the waves crashing against the rocky cliffs. Most days, the seagulls cry out and keep Elias company. Itâs pretty lonely, but at least itâs a place where he doesnât have to suffer under the scrutiny of the community.
In Sweden, he had aspired to be an artist, because he was the second child and his family were supportive. But here, in this small, close-minded society, there was no place for frivolous pleasures like art. So, Elias sets out to find a job that maybe heâll be able to hold for a while so he doesnât starve and die.Â
He ends up working as a carpenter under a man named âBoâ. Bo is his saviour. Bo doesnât mind Eliasâs sin or the letter upon his clavicle or the fact that he slept with a man. Bo helps Elias when he struggles, often sending him home with extra food that would have gone bad if Elias hadnât taken it or giving him an advancement on his pay because Bo just âfelt like itâ. Not to mention that Bo lets him paint on the walls, when they work on a religious or decorative building, sometimes instead of calling for another specialized worker.
Elias thinks he mightâve fallen in love with Bo if he hadnât met Him.
Elias thinks he mightâve left New England if it wasnât for Him. Or else, why would he take the shitty ostracizing from the community?
_________
âCome âere fellas, look who we have here,â a man calls out, âthe sinner himself. In the flesh.â
Elias groans inwardly and glares, huddling into himself.Â
âItâs him, huh? Didnât your mom teach you to stay clear from unsafe places? Oh, thatâs right, you donât have one anymore,â the second man laughs, his features twisted from the malicious smile on his face.Â
Elias grits his teeth and clenches his fists. To a spectator, it only seems that Eliasâs glare has become a touch deadlier. âTime for some new jokes. They are not funny.â
The first man has the audacity to laugh, further tormenting Elias. âYou wanna go, foreign boy? What a shitty accent, donât you think?â He nudges his partner.Â
âOh yeah, just hearing it pisses me off.âÂ
The first man smirks. âTook the words right outta my mouth! Think we gotta dispel our anger somehow, yeah?â
âFuck yeah,â the second man chuckles darkly.Â
They stalk toward Elias with malice, fists balled up and muscles bulging in their arms. Elias backs away, sweat beading from his hairline. He doesnât want to seem like a coward, but there is no way he can take one of these guys, let alone two.Â
Thereâs a rush of adrenaline in Eliasâs veins. Heâs about to run.
Another pair of footsteps thud across the soiled ground. The two men turn their heads toward the unknown personage.Â
âBrock!â the second man exclaims happily. âGlad youâre here. I thought it was someone else and it scared the shit out of me.â
Brock stops, his eyes surveying the situation. He freezes entirely when his gaze catches sight of Elias, his body still tense and prepared to flee. Brockâs eyes soften just a little before his mask is put on again.Â
âYeah. What are you two doing?â he asks.
âNothing much, just teaching the sinner a lesson. You wanna join?â the first man laughs.Â
A brief flash moves across Brockâs eyes. The two men wouldnât be able to catch it, but Elias it does. The emotion brings more fear to Elias than the two men do. Elias shakes his head vehemently at Brock, pleading him silently.Â
Brock smirks back at Elias, making Eliasâs heart thump, before shaking his head slightly to placate him. Donât worry. Itâs time I do this.
âWhy are you guys bothering him, though? Pretty fucking dumb if you ask me,â Brock scoffs, crossing his arms.Â
The expressions on the two menâs faces change from surprise to confusion to anger.Â
âYou calling us dumb?â the second man speaks up.
âYou better not be starting shit, Boeser. Your dad wonât get you out of trouble all the time, you little bitch,â the first man sneers.Â
The muscles in Brockâs arms bulge through his clothing. âYou think I need my dad to get me out of trouble? Fucking idiots. If you want me, come and get me, motherfuckers.â
Elias can only watch in horror as the two men swing their fists in Brockâs direction.

Always Watching (Yandere!Soundwave/OC SFW)
Thank you to @jinxkatkazama (wonât let me tag you) for your business!
If you like this fic, consider commissioning me!
Warning For: Stalking, kidnapping, obsessive behavior
Nienna still remembered when she first met the Autobots.
âStupid fucking gps,â she grumbled, resisting the urge to throw her phone out of frustration. Of course, even following a fuckinâ COMPUTER, she still got lost. Of COURSE she did. This SUCKS.
She was simply mumbling to herself when she heard⌠commotion. Something big slamming into something bigger. Yelling and fighting. What the hell was going on?
Something told Nia to run, but she was a hard-headed girl. She ran, but not away from the fighting like she SHOULD have done. An absolute idiot, she is, it seemed.
What she saw crash into the street was⌠incredible. Terrifying.
Alien.
A giant, robotic creature had been slammed into the ground. A larger creature shot at her with some kind of blaster, and she had to roll out of the way. Nia had no idea what happening, butâŚ
Girls gotta stick together, right?
She thinks the blue one is a girl, anyway- she sounded feminine. That was good enough for Nia.
She fished a large textbook out of her bag, whistling loudly to catch the bigger creatureâs attention. It turned to face her, bright red visor shining down at her dangerously.
âDonât you know you canât hit a girl, jackass,â she screamed, chucking the book at the creatureâs face.
It bounced off harmlessly. Nia didnât really know what else she expected, but it wasnât the creature coming at her with a giant gun.
âOh shit,â Nia yelled, scrambling backwards. Before the creature could attack, the female had gotten up and slammed herself into the other botâs back. While they fought, Nia hurried to a safer spot.
She heard yelling, shots fired, and then finally tires screeching as someone drove away. Nia felt her heart hammering in her chest, hearing clunking as one of the creatures approached. She was gonna die today. Of course she was.
The blue bot appeared, peeking around the corner she was hiding behind. She had her hands up, trying to convey that she wasnât going to harm the human in front of her. Nia stepped back a little, but didnât run.
â... Ugh, great,â she muttered, crouching down to Niaâs level.
âI know you have a lot of questions, and I can answer them, but you gotta come with me- youâd be in danger if I just left you alone. Got it?â Too stunned, Nia simply nodded, eyes widening as the bot transformed into a⌠fucking motorcycle. Great. Fantastic. Niaâs going to the looney bin.
She didnât want to argue with a weird giant robot, so⌠she was going to be kidnapped by one instead, it seemed.
Reaching the base, meeting the others, was⌠something else. Seeing the other humans with them put Nia at ease, as well, after they explained their own situations.
So, now sheâs stuck with alien robots and their human adoptees. Ratchet denied THAT association with the kids, but Nia can tell Ratchet is the MOTHERIEST of mother hens. It was cute.
Nia had time to kill, some days, and would idly watch Raf mess around with programs on his computer. Already having a bit of knowledge on coding and programming, she asked if she could help with anything.
âNo, thatâs fine-â. An alarm blared, cutting him off. He turned back to the screen, ignoring her as she looked over his shoulder.
âScrap,â he huffed. âSomeoneâs found a signal? I thought everything was secureâ. Nia saw the big computer flash something, and moved to let Raf work on his laptop.
Climbing up to the main console, she wondered if she should mess with it. Ratchet would KILL her, and, honestly, she had no idea what she was doing.
As she heard Raf getting frustrated and scared, however, she knew she had to try. She had to do SOMETHING.
Herr fingers flew across the holographic keyboard, the keys automatically switching to her native language. Thank GOD it did, Nia thought, or else sheâd be FUCKED.
Nia looked up when the alarm ended, seeing the alert system had stopped. Raf ran a hand through his hair, glancing at her with surprise.
âThanks for⌠the help- I didnât expect you to be able to do that,â he said, eyes wide. Nia gave him a thumbs up, hopping down from the console.
â... How about I teach you how to keep up with the alert system,â Raf said, motioning for her to come over. Nia couldnât help but feel proud as she sat next to the young boy.
Nia spent months with the Autobots, helping Raf with his security, and Miko with her music. Not helping Jack babysit, though, as he ended up babysitting HER as well. She was not a good influence on anyone.
She really shouldnât have been surprised when she thought she was being followed, due to her⌠recent activities.
Another late night, another hour of being lost on the way home. Stupid GPS never worked like it should.
Nia felt like something was⌠off, however. The air felt heavy, and she constantly felt like something was staring holes into her back. Her chest felt tight with nerves and anxiety.
When she looked over her shoulder, she caught something dark gliding into an alleyway. It was big and birdlike, but definitely not organic. Nia swallowed thickly, turning back around and hurrying down the street.
Now that she was paying attention, she could hear a faint whirring noise from⌠whatever it was following her. God, it was terrifying.
She picked up speed, brisk walk turning into an all-out sprint. She recognized where she was, now. Nia knew how to get home from here. Sheâd get home, and call the Autobots. Everythingâs gonna be alright.
When she found her home, she all but booked it into the house. The door slammed shut, she braced herself against it to try and stay upright. Her legs shook with adrenaline, and her hands were too unsteady to grab her phone.
She heard it outside for the longest time, zipping around the house. Seeing itsâ lights shine through the windows. She didnât know how long she stayed there until it finally left. Nia didnât DARE move until she was sure it was gone.
The call with Optimus was shaky, and he had Bumblebee stationed outside her house for the night with the order to comm if anything suspicious happened.
Over the course of the next few weeks, Nia would feel like something was severely off. She felt watched. She felt like she wasnât alone in her own home. It was horrible, not able to feel safe in the comfort of her house.
She had various Bots outside her home, keeping watch outside. That small comfort allowed her to be calm enough to continue with her normal routine, instead of turning into an anxiety-filled hermit. It just took a little longer to be comfortable enough to sleep at night.
Unbeknownst to Nia, though, someone was keeping a very close optic on her.
The Decepticonsâ recon bot, Soundwave himself, had taken an interest in the foolish little human the vehicon complained about. Even if he wasnât harmed, there was still a small crack in his optic that he wouldnât shut up about. At least, until Knockout finally fixed it.
Soundwave was a little intrigued- he was interested in all of the Autobotsâ little pets, but this one⌠this one was more annoying than the child.
After he tapped into Niaâs computer, he found the programs Raf had put on it. The ones she modified. He recognized the code, and a flame of curiosity lit in his spark.
So, this was the one that enhanced the childâs primitive coding, too? Fascinating. Heâd have to keep tabs on her for a while. Make sure she isnât planning to do anything that could be⌠detrimental to the Decepticon cause.
Heâs sure Lord Megatron wouldnât mind this little side project. Itâd be to ensure the safety of the Decepticons, of course.
He kept a feed of her up constantly, alongside his usual duties. By the end of the first week, he knew her schedule. Knew what she liked to eat, what she sang while she cooked, how she liked her showers.
By the end of the month, he knew what she was going to do before she even did it.
He began to notice small changes about her, after a day. He had been sending Laserbeak to keep watch on her when she was out of her home, and she must have taken note of the Conâs coloring. She stopped wearing the blues and purples Soundwave had come to enjoy. Gaudy pinks and reds replaced her normal clothing, reminding him of Knockout.
He didnât quite know why, but it made him angry, thinking she was matching another Con.
Soundwave found himself entertaining the idea of putting her back in clothes that matched his paint. Keeping her here, out of the reach of those weak Autobots.
Hm⌠He may be more involved with this project than he initially thought. Well⌠he has been loyal- perhaps Lord Megatron will allow him⌠a small privilege.
By the next week, he found himself waiting for Laserbeak. His little friend went to pick up his⌠new guest. Megatron had been pleasant about the idea, if confused. When told that this human was a friend of the Autobots, Megatron was proud of the idea.
Soundwave was fine using you as leverage. As long as he had the human.
The sound of screaming caught his attention, angry cursing filling the halls of the Nemesis as Laserbeak entered his quarters. Nia was dangling from the flying Conâs hold, kicking her legs and cussing furiously.
She fell quiet as she was brought towards Soundwave, anger replaced with terror as she was dropped into his palm. Laserbeak returned to his spot in Soundwaveâs dock, slipping into recharge. As she stared up at him, Soundwave began a recording.
Megatronâs face appeared on Soundwaveâs screen, startling the tiny, fleshy creature in his hand. One simple squeeze, and itâd be over. The idea of having this much power was⌠interesting.
âWelcome, human,â the recording began. âYou are being given to my reconnaissance professional, and he has full control over your wellbeing- I suggest you behave yourself.â Niaâs face contorted, returning back to being livid.
âFuck you, you bucket of bolts!â The recording, of course, paid her no mind. Soundwave thought it was amusing.
âYou are here as collateral, but do not think you are above being killed, should you prove to be too much trouble.â Megatron grinned, making a wave of nausea wash over the human.
âLetâs hope your Autobots really do care about you.â The recording ended there as Soundwave entered his private room, adjacent from his work space.
Nia was placed into a small hole in the wall- well, small for Soundwave. It was VERY large for her. It had basic bedding, a bucket, and some food and water in the corner. There was a pile of clothing near the entrance, which sealed shut with a forcefield.
Instead of saying anything, Soundwave simply sat down. Silently, he observed her. Seeing her grow disgusted and enraged, realizing these were clothes from her home.
âYou took these- what the hell is wrong with you? Are you some kind of sick freak?!â Soundwave smiled, under his mask.
Humans were so emotional, and so⌠lively. It was amusing.
âSick freak,â he repeated, using Niaâs voice against her. She swallowed the lump in her throat, torn between screaming, crying, or vomiting. Considering the small space, and just a bucket, she figured throwing up was the worst thing to do, at the moment.
âThis is more than using me as a bargaining chip. What do you want from me, you giant bastard,â Nia yelled, standing as close as she could to the forcefield. Soundwave stood, stepping over to her cell. Despite not wanting to show how terrified she was, she took a few steps back as his face appeared at her level.
Soundwave decided to give her a bit of a treat, since sheâs finally here. Instead of using a recordingâŚ
âWant you,â came his own, mechanical response. She flinched a little bit, not expecting it to be so loud- or as robotic as it was. Ironic, considering sheâs talking to a huge robot.
âWhat⌠do you mean?â The forcefield lowered, and Nia was grabbed before she could react. She struggled, growing more panicked as she was lifted into his hold.
âWatch you. Know you. Want you.â She stilled for a moment. Watching herâŚ
âFor fuckâs sake- did you bug my entire house?! Is that how you knew when Iâd be home alone-!â He cut her off, placing a digit over her mouth.
âYes.â He sat down again, letting her move his digit from her face. Her eyes- a lovely, bright blue that reminded him too much of the Autobots- shined with fury.
âOptimus is going to kick your aft, you stalking monster! And Iâm gonna rip out your spark with my bare hands!â A silent laugh left him.
âCute.â The mockery only infuriated her more. She tried to struggle as he reached up to run a digit along her hair.
âStay here. With me. Whether Autobots come or not.â Nia tried to argue, but Soundwave was being hailed to the bridge. Reluctantly, he moved to put her back in her cell.
âLet me go! Let me out of here!â Soundwave paid the human no mind, leaving the room.
âChange clothes. Hate the red,â was all he said, before he left the room. She cussed at him as the door shut, sitting in the bedding angrily.
A screen appeared in her cell, showing a feed from Soundwaveâs point of view. She knew it was him, because he made sure to start it up while staring into a monitorâs reflection.
âAlways watching,â he all but purred, beginning his trek to the bridge. Nia glanced up, seeing cameras in all corners of her cell. He really could see her from all directions. She felt sick. He couldnât help but smile, not that anyone could see. Even as she began to cry out of frustration, he felt as giddy as he did when he was a sparkling.
âAlways watching.â

Realm of Dreams
He promised that he would never leave you and that he would get you out of the darkness. But at the end of it all, he had lied because what he was meant he could never step into the light and give you the love you deserved.

Jimin pulled at his shirt, letting the feeling of the cotton swallow him. His feelings tore away at him, he was scared, he was worried, and he was not ready to let go. He had walked a long way with his human. You had been a relief for his grief-ridden days, a way to let go of the disappointment that he had so willingly accepted as his own way. Your beautiful eyes sparkled at him as you teetered on your feet, looking for validation. He wanted to give it to you, he wanted you to be sure of what you were doing. He wanted to encourage you to leave his realm, the underworld was no place for a human after all. But, he couldn't help the selfish urge to hold you close, and to never let go. He had spent his days in such a lonely daze. Every day he would eat, then lay on the ground and stare at the ceiling of his room and wonder if there could ever be anything more. His records would scratch their way into his ears, shaking his inner self and reminding him of his inner darkness. He never had an escape, he never had a way to leave what he was behind.
In the end, he was a coward.
"You'll visit me right?" Your voice shook him out of his musing and made his plump lips pull into a morose smile. He knew what your expectations were. You wanted him to follow you to the human realm and live with him. You had told him already that you were willing to let him live with you, you had coloured a picture of him with his own room and a set of CDs. You told him that music had grown so far that he would be astounded by what there was. Jimin had felt a mournful acceptance when he listened to you carry on about movie nights and eating out. He had let you explain what your favourite places were and why he would like them too, and it had all torn him apart.
"You're asking a lot." His fingers gripped at the striped cloth, and his eyes dwelt on your form, trying to carve You into his head. "Monsters are here because we were banished. Our peoples have never gotten along peacefully." Jimin couldn't find it in him to tell you the truth, that he could never follow you through the arches and into the wooded paths beyond his realm. He could see the leaves shaking in the background. He could smell the taunting crisp spring that he knew was lying in wait past the rocks. Everything was there to remind him that he had failed you in more ways than you knew.
"That doesn't matter, you know that." You said, your forehead pulled taunt as you took his hands into your own, pulling his trembling digits from his ratty shirt. Jimin could see the hope in your eyes, and the confidence that what was between you was more than he could deny. The relationship between You and him had grown strong. It had been a long time since he had woken up to find you staring down at him. He could still feel the leaves sticking to his skin when he remembered the pile had napped on. Jimin knew that his meeting with You was by chance. You could have walked through any walkway in his realm, but you walked right to him instead. You could have found any monster to guide you home, but you had asked him instead.
"It doesn't, does it," Jimin said with a shake in his voice. He could feel his lips shake as he allowed himself to indulge himself. He pulled you close, his fingers resting on your hips. He felt assurance in feeling you against him, he knew that as long as he felt you he could never fade away. "But it does to others." He hadn't known how much he liked you at first. When he had just met you, after all, you were just a confused human that was holding a bag of cookies, strands of a long forgotten web clinging to its cloth. You hadn't been able to comprehend anything that had occurred, and he found that so expected that he hadn't cared about learning about you. He may have been a kind soul, but he didn't care for the mortals that had left him in the cold caves of the underworld. But eventually, that had changed.  Jimin couldn't say when he realized he had fallen for you. It could have been when You had slipped in the snow of his realms mountains and smiled at him, willing to face the embarrassment with a glee he had long forgotten. Perhaps it had been when you had taken a crying monster child into your arms, assuring the young boy that he would be home for supper. All he knew was that when he had laid on the floor on his living room with you, listening to his music, he had felt affection for you. Your eyes were closed, and you were so relaxed, so content. He could feel everything from you that he had lost so long ago. It had been a long time since he had closed his eyes and felt happy since he had seen anything but the darkness. When he had seen you so vulnerable and open, he knew he was in love. But that hadn't been the moment, he knew it wasn't. He knew because You had pulled at his heart from the moment he saw Your gentle smile. There was never a chance he wouldn't have fallen for you. Jimin knew that the path he had been on with you was always meant to happen. He was always supposed to guide you home, and he had always been the one that was fated to love the beautiful You.
"You never cared about them before," Your eyes fluttered as you pulled away from him. Jimin's fingers curled into the empty air as if trying to catch Your warmth from the space. He could see your fear. "You promised you would never leave me." Your voice cracked and he felt his heart break along with it. You were so scared of being alone, you had confessed that to him from the start. He had understood that from the beginning, he had understood the cold that clasped itself around your soul. Jimin had promised You that he would never leave you behind, that he would always stand by you. But, it had been a foolish promise from the start. "You're leaving with me, Jimin, you promised."
"I will." Jimin nodded diligently. He wanted to pretend he was scared, that he didn't fear what would happen when he followed you. Monsters never left the underworld, if he followed you the way he promised, he didn't know if he would simply cease to exist. He had only screams of warning. He could feel centuries of wisdom telling him to stay where he belonged. Yet in the end, he knew he could only truly live if he was by your side. "I won't break my promise." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to push himself to ignore the look of distrust you were giving him.
You had every right to be wary. Only hours before he had pulled you close and asked what you truly wanted. If he ever actually meant enough to you that he could be convinced to follow. You had read the conversation correctly, it was a feeble plea to be released from his purpose. You had looked him down and told him what you wanted. You wanted him, no matter what. Jimin couldn't say no to that, he couldn't say no to you. If their roles were reversed he knew that he would have said the same, and challenged you to pursue the future you wanted.  In the end, he knew Your dreams of the future meant nothing, and that his desires had nothing to do with what would happen. Moments after walking into the mortal realm he would lose everything he had ever cared about, he would lose you.
"I don't want to lose you." You were stubborn, so stubborn. Jimin loved it. He loved watching your eyes steel themselves as you made up your mind. He adored the way you helped yourself, and how you refused to let your dreams pass you by. You had an inner strength that he craved. He knew that he was stronger when he was by your side. But the result of his strength was your weakness. You had spent so long alone and fending for yourself. You had forgotten what it meant to love and he knew that you loving him was only a weakness. It gave you something to miss, and someone to lose.  However, that was the game. To love one must give themselves to pain, and to the reality that never lasts forever. His love for you was authentic, and it was real. But, that meant that it would never last forever. It meant that one day it would fade away and disappear. Nothing good ever lasted, and he supposed that made it all the sweeter. He cherished every moment with you because he knew that it was all he would have.
"Never, my love." Jimin kissed your forehead, his lips red from how roughly he had bitten them. His stress had blossomed within him so strongly that even his light skin had hit a new shade of pale. "I will never let you go, no matter what happens." Despite his hold on you, he felt as though he was alone. The arch taunted him, reminding him of the frailty of his love. Monsters and humans were never meant to be. He could love her as fiercely as he wanted but that could change nothing.
"Thank you." You shook against him, feeling the end of it all. Your adventure was so close to ending, all you had to do was to walk through the arches. And so you did. Jimin watched you walk past the boundary and smile at him so sweetly, then he wondered how such a being could exist. If monstrosities existed, then it only made sense that such a beautiful being like you could exist as well.
"I love you." Jimin closed his eyes, feeling tears warm his skin, running the length of his cheeks. He couldn't forget the expectant look on your face when he walked after you, and he could never forget your screams that followed. In the end, he held you, in the end, he never broke your promise.  But, in the end, you had lost him because a ghost like him could never exist in the plains above.

We're gonna be okay
(Holy shit! You guys!! I didn't think my last post was gonna get that much attention! Over 100 notes?? Thats crazy im ajakfjsaujdh- thank you guys!! I personally thought that last post was complete garbage but idk about that anymore. Anyway I was rewatching Jacksepticeyes lets play of DBH and I wanted to write another fanfiction! Also I would really love some feedback on if you guys want some more Connor x Reader things! Thanks again that makes me super happy guys!)
Fandom: Detroit: Become Human
Paring: Deviant Connor x Detective Reader
Summary: You, Connor, and Hank get kicked from the deviant cases because of the hole war that was going on and everything and you had to leave Connor and Hank to warn Markus about it. Soon your faced with machine Connor with him pointing at gun at you and Markus. You got shot! Now what's gonna happen?! Read and find out!
Warnings: Swearing, blood, violence, wounds, and mentions of death. (Also spoilers?? I tired to write down what i remembered from the game but i know its not 100% accurate so don't come after me. Juussstt warnin ya! :))
(Honestly guys this story is kinda all over the place but i hope its still good. Its way longer then i wanted it to be but oh well. There might be some misspelled thing but oh well. I really don't feel like fixing them rn đ anyway i hope you like!)
"You're off the case." Fowler said. "Wait what??" you yelled as you looked at Captain Fowler in complete shock. "You can't pull the plug on us now! Not when were so close! Can't you have my back this one time?!-" Hank said. "This isn't in our hands anymore Hank! This is doesn't have anything to do with us anymore- this is a fucking civil war were talking about here! We have no control over this situation anymore!" Fowler yelled.
You stood there in complete shock. No way! They couldn't do this! Now what are you gonna do? You're gonna have to tell this to Markus right away!
"Hank your back on homicide. While the android goes back to Cyberlife." Fowler said as he nodded over to Connor. You looked at Connor with a concerned look. Connor looked at the floor for a second, then to you. You gave him a 'im so sorry' look and he just looked back at Fowler with a slightly sad look on his face. "As for Y/N, your back on the red ice investigation. They need you back there because they have barley gotten any leads since you left." Fowler said as he rubbed his head. You nodded and looked down at the ground as you shoved your hands in your pockets.
Hank walked out of Captain Fowler's office and you followed right behind him along with Connor. You sighed as you sat in a chair next to Hanks desk while Connor sat on Hanks desk. You bent over and put your head in your hands while Connor just looked at Hank for a second.
"We could have solved this! With just a little more time! We could have accomplished this mission!" Connor said with a frustrated tone. "So what? Now your headin back to Cyberlife huh?" Hank said as he looked over at Connor. Connor shook his head, "I have no choice. Im goings to be sent back and deactivated to see why I failed my mission." He said with a slightly sad and disappointed face. You looked up at Connor with a worried expression.
"But that isn't fair! You didn't do anything wrong! We just didn't have enough evidence! We weren't close enough! It's no ones fault! Especially not yours Connor!" You said in a defensive tone. Connor shook his head. You sighed and looked back down at your legs. Hank was about to say something but you stood up and walked in front of him and Connor.
You hugged Connor. You hugged him like it was the end of the world. You felt so bad for him. You always believed deviants were in the right and humans were in the wrong. Markus helped prove that along side with the rest of Jerico.
You had developed feelings for Connor over the last few months of working with him and Hank. You had a crush on the Android, you wouldn't deny it. So knowing that this would probably be the last time you saw him, you hugged him with everything you had.
Connor didn't know how to react. He didn't know if he should hug you back of if he should push you away. So he didn't do either. He just sat there. Shocked. While you hugged him. You understood that he didn't hug back, but it still hurt you non the less. Slowly you let go of him. You needed to go and report to Markus and the rest of Jerico about whats happening. But you didn't want to leave Connor. You looked at Connor with sad eyes as he just sat there, stunned. You looked down as you shook your head slowly, then you felt tears start to make there way to your eyes.
"Im sorry Connor but I need to go. I have to go do something." you said sadly as you looked up at him. He looked at you with a sort of sad expression.
'No!' he thought. He didn't want you to leave just yet. He wanted to spend his least moments at DPD with you! He didn't know why but he just wanted to stay by your side! And just be with you!
"Im...Im gonna miss you, you fuckin android..." you said as your voice cracked. You slowly leaned in and kissed Connors cheek. He was taken back and so was Hank. Poor Hank was so confused. He was just sitting there awkwardly as you too were in your own little world.
Connor didn't know what to do or how to react. This wasn't in his programming. This wasn't part of his software. He was so udderly lost for words. Poor boy. You chuckled softly at his reaction. But oh was that laugh music to Connors ears. He loved it and he realized he wanted to hear it more. But he couldn't.
You slowly let go of Connor and backed up away from him. Your touch still lingering on his shoulders. You sighed sadly and looked over at Hank. You put a hand on his shoulder and gave him a small peck on his head. Not knowing if you were gonna see him again either. You were going to go help Markus with the revolution and you had no idea if you were gonna make it out alive. Hank just looked up at you confused as ever as you looked down at him with a small smile.
"Bye you guys...i.." you trailed off as your voice cracked. "I'll miss you two..." you said softly. You felt your tears overflow and run down your face. You quickly turned around and walked away, out of DPD, and to go to Jerico to help Markus and the rest of the cause. All the while, Hank and Connor sat there confused and sad.
---------
You cautiously walked into Jerico and quickly found your way to the main room and ran up to wear Markus, Simon, North, and Josh were at the top of the ship.
You were panting by time you made it to them. They quickly turned around as you had scared them. Josh let out a relived sigh as Markus walked over to you. "Y/N what are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be-" You cut Markus off, "They kicked us off the case and are handing the 'situation' over to the fbi and the army. This isn't in my hands anymore. Which mean I have no idea what they plan to do anymore." you said this a forceful tone. Markus looked at you slightly stunned.
"But all i know is that there on to us. There close to finding out where Jerico is! So that means we need to be on high alert." you said with a stern tone. Markus nodded and looked back at North, Simon, and Josh. "Josh, Simon, North, go tell our people downstairs to be cautious and ready for anything that may happen. The 3 of them nodded and quickly left to go warn the rest of Jerico.
"Do you know what they know?" Markus said in a concerned tone. You shook your head. "All I know is that they know what Jerico is. I don't think they know WHERE Jerico is though." you said. Markus nodded. "What about 'the famous deviant hunter'? Where is he?" You were about answer when all of a sudden, you were cut off.
"Im right here." you heard Connor say with a stern tone. You quickly turned around to find Connor with a gun pointed directly at you and Markus. He was also in different clothing. Which, you would admit, he looked pretty good in.
"Connor?! Wait- how did you get here??" you asked as you face held complete shock in it. "I was ordered to take Markus here alive. And I won't hesitate to kill anything that stands in my way." Connor said as he pointed the gun directly at your head.
What the hell? This isn't your Connor! You Connor would never do this! He hasn't killed anyone since you started working with him! He isn't like this! He-
You were brought out of your thoughts when all of a sudden you heard a gun shot, then felt a sharp pain to your shoulder. No way.
No way!
Connor shot you!
You fell to the floor as you held on to your arm. Markus called your name, "Y/N!" but you could barley hear him. All you heard was ringing in your left ear. But soon after, the ringing went away and you could hear everything again. Now all you needed to focus on was the bullet shoved into your arm. You looked at your wound, man it looked way worse then it felt. You looked back over at Markus and Connor, and Connor still had the gun pointed at you. "That was a warning shot. Stay out of my way Y/N." he said with a cold tone. You looked at him with complete shock. You felt so betrayed. He told you that he would protect you! That he would save you! That he wouldn't do anything to hurt you! But that look in his eyes says otherwise.
All a sudden you felt something lift you up. It was Markus! He carefully walked up to you and helped you up. After you were standing again, he leaned his body against yours and whispered in your ear, "Go warn help the others. I'll be down soon." you furrowed your eyebrows and turned your head to look at him, but then stopped when he squeezed your arm as a sign to hurry. You looked at Connor and slowly walked forward. His gun still pointed at you. "Okay okay...i-i'll leave...just don't shoot me again." you said with a shaky voice. He looked at you with a cold stair. "I can't let you do that detective L/N. Im going to have to get rid of you first." he said coldly. He was about to shoot but Markus lunged forward and grabbed Connors gun and made him shoot at the ground. You quickly took your chance and ran out of there as fast as you could, and down to the main room with all the androids to get help.
Meanwhile Markus and Connor were fighting over the gun. Connor threw a left hook to Markus face, then Markus kneed Connor in his stomach. This made Connor fall to his knees and Markus was able to grab the gun and pointed it at Connors head.
"Its doesn't have to end this way Connor. You don't have to be like this anymore! They're just using you. We're your people! Come join us and our cause!" Markus said. Connor slowly got up and backed up away from Markus and said nothing. "You shot Y/N. She cares for you Connor. A lot. She wanted to help you become a deviant. You can be with her if you stop being a 'machine' and open your eyes to the reality of things." Markus said with a slightly smoother tone. Connor again said nothing. "Now I think its time for you to decide. Are you just some program, or are you a deviant?" Markus finally said. Connor looked at Markus with a cold look at first, but then it slowly softened as he looked around. He did it.
Connor became a deviant.
"They're going to attack Jerico." was the first thing Connor said. "What?!" Markus yelled. Then they heard what sounded like jets flying over them. "Shit!" Markus hissed as he ran out of the room, with Connor quickly following behind.
Connor ran behind Markus, but the only thing he could think about was how he shot you. He felt guilt in his chest but tried to push away the feeling, but he couldn't. He couldn't believe himself! He shot you! All he wanted to do was hold you and say he's sorry, but he wasn't even sure if he could do that anymore. You two would be lucky to survive this.
-------
You were running through the halls when all of a sudden you heard a loud BOOM sound. You quickly turned around to see soldiers running around the Connor towards your direction. "Shit!" you hissed. You quickly ran away from the soldiers while still holding on to your upper arm. Along the way you ran into Josh.
"Y/N!" you heard him scream. You stoped in your tracks and looked over to where you heard your name. He smiled slightly and quick ran over to you. When he got closer to you, his smiled quickly faded and you saw his eye dart to your wound. "Your shot-" you cut him off, "Yeah I know what I am- we need to get out of here! People are attacking Jerico!-" you were cut off by the sound of bullets flying past you. Josh quickly grabbed your right arm and pulled you to safety. You two stood there and waited for them to leave. Eventually you both knew that they were far enough, so you both booked it try to go find Markus and the others.
"Do you have any idea where the others are??" you said loudly, glancing over at Josh. "No! We got separated!" he said in a panicked tone. "Damnit!" you whispered. You whipped your head left and looked over to him, "We need to regroup! Can't you talk to them telepathically??" you asked. "No! Only when we're so close!" He said back to you. "Look out!-" he yelled as he pulled you into a little room as the soldiers went by. You two sighed, then carefully walked out, then started to run again.
"We just need to pray to RA9 and hope that we can find them!" he started up again. All a sudden you were tackled to the floor by a soldier! You yelled in pain as you landed on your wound. "Y/N!!" you heard Josh yell. You felt the weight of the soldier suddenly leave you. You looked over to see Josh fighting with the man. You quickly looked around to see if there was a weapon near by. Luckily for you, there was! You reached for the gun then quickly aimed it at the soldier. You felt the pain from your left shoulder shoot through you hole body but you forced yourself to ignore it.
"Josh! Hold him still!" you yelled at Josh. He did exactly that and held him in a choke hole. You quickly shot his head and watched as his body went limp. You sighed and looked at Josh. He nodded and you both took off again.
About five minutes later you ran into North and Simon. You called there names as the quickly turned around to see you and Josh. They smiled as you ran up to them and gave them both hugs! "Oh thank god you guys are alive!" you said thankfully. "We could say the same for you! He had no idea where you guys were so we just started running." North said. "Y/N your arm-" you cut Simon off, "Yeah long story but we don't have time! We need to find Markus-" this time you were cut off. You heard hurried footsteps, so you quickly turned you head only to see Markus and...
Connor?!
Connor looked at you with wide eyes as you did the same. You could hear Markus talking to north but you didn't really pay attention to him. Connor's alive?? Wait but does that mean-
Your thoughts were cut off when you heard Markus say, "We need to blow up Jerico." "Wait what?!" you yelled. "Markus that's suicide! You can't, you'll die- they'll kill you!" North said in a worried tone. "Its the only way!" Markus said, "I'll meet up with you guys again later, for now try to get everyone off the boat!" you heard him yell before he started running. You looked at North, and he nodded at you. "Let's get going then. Come on!" she yelled. You all ran to go help the other androids get to safety.
------
"Is that everyone??" Simon yelled. "I think so!" North yelled back. "Then lets get out of here!" Josh said as he started running. "What about Markus?!" you asked. "He'll meet up with us! For now we need to get to safety!" Connor said to you in a calm but rushed tone. You nodded and started running, but all of a sudden you heard gun shots. As you were running you got shot on the right side of your hip. It had barley gotten you, but it was still enough to make you bleed. You cried in pain and fell, quickly grabbing your hip, letting go of your other wound. Your right side was soon soaked with blood, and so was your hands. It was covered in it.
Connor looked back at you with a panicked expression on his face. "Y/N!!" He quickly picked up a large piece of metal as he ran over to you, shielding you and him from anymore bullets. He threw your right arm around his shoulder and helped you up, then turned you and him around as he through the metal at the soldiers, causing them to get knocked out.
"Are you okay?!" He asked in a panicked tone. "Y-yeah im fine! But we need to go! Or else were gonna die!" you said in a rushed tone. He looked at you with worried eyes, but then nodded. You and him both ran and eventually caught up to the rest of them. Also in time to meet back up with Markus too. You all made a run for the exit, but then you heard gun shots again, but this time you weren't the one getting shot.
"North!" you heard Markus yell. He quickly ran back to protect her. You let go of Connor, which causes you to stumble at first, but then quickly regain your balance as you went to go help them. "Y/N no!" you heard Connor yell at you.
You quickly pulled your gun out and started shooting at the soldiers, killing 2 of them. You saw the last one quickly aim at you, then fire. You prepared yourself to feel the pain of the bullet, but it never came. Instead, you felt a arm wrap around your chest and pull you safety. You looked to see who it was and you were slightly taken back to see that is was Connor! He spun you around and pushed you against his chest, being careful not to touch your wounds, then fired his own gun and killed the last soldier. You were shocked. He saved you!
You looked up at him and he looked down at you. He smiled softly at you and let go of you. Then his smile quickly faded as he grabbed your right hand, staining his own in your own blood. "Come on! We gotta get out of here! The things gonna blow!" he yelled at you. You nodded and started running with him.
Then you saw the ledge. Oh god! You guys were fucking high! Were you gonna survive that?! You didn't have anytime to think about stopping when all of a sudden you where snapped out of your thoughts by Connor yelling at you. "Pencil Dive!" was the only thing he said before he pulled you off with him. You didn't even get a chance to react. He made you jump with him cause he knew that you wouldn't jump other wise. You quickly held your breath as you put your arms to your sides and your legs together. Once you hit the water everything went dark. You passed out.
---------
You woke up cold and in a lot of pain. You opened your eyes slowly yo see you were in a old building. But you couldn't tell what building it was though. You quickly sat up and coughed violently. After you were done, you felt a comforting hand on your back. You turned around to see Connor with a worried expression on his face.
"Connor!" you said happily as you went to hug him, only have you thoughts snapped away as you felt pain shoot through your body. You flinched and whimpered quietly. You forgot that you had gotten shot and looked down at the floor. Then you noticed how your wounds were cleaned up, and that you had bandages on your arm and hip, then covered up by some wraps. Connor sighed and sat next to you, then putting his hand on your leg. You looked up at him with a sad face. But then you realized something. "Wait- Conner! You became a deviant??" you said taken back. He smiled and chuckled softly, then nodded. "Markus helped convince me. He helped me understand that im not just some machine. That im not just some thing that takes orders." he said as he looked at the ground. "He said all the things you used to tell me..." he said softly, almost in a whisper. He held a guilty look on his face. Then he looked back up, not to you, but to your wound on your arm, where he had shot you.
You looked at him with a worried expression, "Connor, its okay!" you said in a soft tone. "I know you didn't mean it-" he cut you off, "No Y/N! Its not okay!" he said as he voice cracked. "I...I fucking shot you!" he said as he looked up at you. You saw tears running down his face. You froze for a second, but then quickly collected yourself.
You put your hands on both sides of his face and wiped his tears away. You didn't care if this put you in more pain, you needed yo comfort Connor. "Its okay Connor. I know you didn't mean too. You were just following your orders. No one is blaming you for this. Im okay! It'll heal i promise!" you said in the softest voice you could manage. He looked at you with his big puppy dog eyes, and you saw tears start to form in his eyes again. This alone broke your heart. "Come here." you said softly as you brought him in for a hug. He wrapped his arms around your hips, being carful not to touch your wounds, as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and held him tightly. He tucked his face in the crock of your neck, which made you giggle slightly. You stroked his hair and ran your fingers though it as a tactic to calm him down slightly. Luckily for you it worked and he soon stopped crying. He slowly started letting go of you as he backed up. When he finally came face to face with you he stopped, and kept his hands on your sides, as you kept your arms around his shoulders.
He looked at you sadly and rested his forehead on yours as he closed his eyes. "Im so sorry Y/N...im so so sorry..." he said quietly as he furrowed his eyebrows together. You frowned slightly and looked at him with a sad look. "Hey, look at me." you said softly as you put a hand on his cheek. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at you. "I forgive you Connor. I'll always forgive you. You could shoot me one hundred more times and i'll forgive you. You know why?" you asked. He kept his eyebrows furrowed. "Why?.." he asked quietly. Smiled a sweet smile and looked him directly in the eyes.
"Its because I love you."
Connors led went red, then yellow, then back to its beautiful shade of blue. "You...you do?" he asked hopefully. You smiled and nodded softly. "Yes. I don't when I fell for you but it was somewhere along the way of us being partners. But I think I realized i loved you when you saved me from falling of that edge when we were going to catch a one deviant, you know, the one that loved the pigeons and stuff." you said as you and him giggled. "You didn't have to save me then. But you did. You chose to save me instead of accomplishing your mission. That's when I realized you were going to become a deviant." you said as you giggled again. He just shook his head and smiled at you. "As time went on, I fell more and more in love with you Connor." you said softly as you looked at him. "Tell me Connor. Do you feel the same for me?" you asked quietly, but only loud enough for him to hear. He looked at you as a smile grew on his face. (In your opinion, it was the cutest smile you ever saw.)
"I do. I love you too, Y/N."
Connor said only loud enough for you to hear. You smiled widely as you eyes lit up. Oh god Connor just melted seeing your reaction. He thought it was the cutest thing ever. He put a hand on your cheek and smiled softly as you leaned into his touch. You wished this moment could last forever.
Sadly it couldn't.
Markus came over to you guys and coughed to get your guy's attention. You both turned to face him. "Sorry to interrupt, but, Connor were about to leave." Markus said calmly. You looked up at him questionably, "Wait, what do you mean?" you asked Markus. Markus sighed and looked at Connor. "You didn't tell her yet?" Markus asked, and Connor just shook his head. "I was getting there..."He said quietly. He then looked back at you with an apologetic look on his face. "Im going back to Cyberlife-" you cut him off, "Wait what?! Connor-" he cut you off as well and put his hands up in defence. "Let me finish! Im going back to Cyberlife to get the other androids there. If we get them, then we would be able to out number the soldiers and they would have no choice but to step down." he said calmly.
You looked at him, trying to process what he just said. "But Connor!- Love that's suicide! You can't do that! I-" he cut you off. "Trust me Y/N. Im gonna be fine." he said soothingly. You sighed and rubbed your face. Then let out a frustrated huff. "I can't make you change your mind, can I?" you said to Connor. He chuckled and shook his head. "Im afraid not Y/N." he said softly. You sighed again and nodded. "Okay fine. But you need to promise me one thing!" you said as Connor got up, then help you up. "And what would that be?" he said as he pulled you up to him. "You have to promise you'll come back to me." "But Y/N-" you cut him off, "No 'buts' Connor! You have to promise me you come back to me alive and safe! You got it?" you said as you poked his chest softly.
He sighed and nodded as he looked down at you. "Okay I promise i'll come back home safe and sound for you." he said softly. This made you smile, and he smiled right back at you as he gave you a kiss on your forehead. "Okay. Lets go drop you off at Hanks house so you can get a little more cleaned up and out of theses wet clothes." he said as he grabbed your jacket. You nodded and shivered. You didn't even realize how cold you were untill now. Connor noticed and took off his coat and put it around your arms. You smiled at his action even though you knew it wouldn't do anything, but you still thought it was a cute gesture.
-------
While taking a ride back to Hanks in taxi, you fell asleep on Connors arm. But he didn't minda at all. Infact he love you being so close to him. He was thinking about if he made it back alive, he would totally go straight to Hanks house to cuddle with you there. The thought brought a smile to his face.
Eventually you guys made it to Hanks house. Connor woke you up gently and told you that you had made it. Your face dropped from a smile to a small frown. Connor noticed this and kissed your cheek softly. "I'll be back later, Okay?" he said softly and you just nodded sadly. He sighed, "Do you want me to walk you up there?" he asked and you nodded fastly. He chuckled quietly, then got out of the car with you. He held your hand all the was up till you were at the door.
You turned to face him with a sad face. He smiled sadly and squeezed your hand slightly for reinsurance. "I'll be home before you know it, okay?" he said smoothly. You nodded and looked up at him. "Okay." you said softly. Then you did something that caught Connor of guard.
You kissed him on the lips.
He obviously kissed you back right away. He loved it. He loved the taste of you. The feel of you. He just wanted more of you.
Yeah he was definitely coming back to you. He thought. After about a minute of kissing, you two broke the kiss and just looked at each other, untill you broke the silence. "You should get going. Everyone will be waiting on you..." you said quietly as you messed with his shirt. He smiled and nodded. "Your right." he kissed your lips one more time. "I'll be back soon." he said finally before he got in the car and drove away to Cyberlife.
You walked in Hanks house only to find no body home. Well of course for Sumo but Hank was no wear to be seen. You decided to call him, but he didn't answer. You sighed and just welcomed yourself to his shower and some of his bigger clothes as you washed you soaked ones. Your sure he wouldn't mind right?
--------
Later on you found out that Hank was kidnapped by a fake Connor and you freaked out! But then he told you everything was fine and Connor got all the Androids to "wake up" and follow him to go help Markus and the rest of Jerico. This helped but you at ease.
Then the next day you found out that the Androids had won and are now getting their liberty and their rights! This made you the happiest you've ever been! They finally got what they deserved! You felt now you could truly relax! But wait!
Connor wasn't home yet!
And Hank wasn't at home anymore either after you thought about it. He left again? You asked yourself. You had fell asleep last night after Hank got home because you couldn't keep yourself up any longer. So you quickly kicked off the blanks Hank gave you last night, but got light headed as soon as you stood up. After you were fine again, you ran to your phone to call Hank or Connor. Neither of them answered and you went into panic mode!
Were they okay?! Did something happen to Connor?! Did something happen to Hank and Connor had to go help him?! Is Connor wounded at all?
All these thoughts were going through you head, when all a sudden you hear the door open. This quickly snapped you back to reality. You quickly turned around to see Hank and Connor both standing there with grins on their faces. You couldn't help but smile back at them.
Then you tackled the both of them with a hug, which they both gladly returned. Soon you let go and then smacked their arms softly. "Jesus you guys scared the shit outta me!" you practically yelled at them. They both laughed as you folded your arms. "Sorry, I guess I could have woken you up huh?" Hank said with a "im not really sorry" tone. This made you laugh and then nod. "Yeah you dick!" You said with an offended tone. Hank chuckled again and walked into his room to change. Which meant you and Connor were left alone.
He smiled brightly at you as you hugged him with all of your might. He hugged you back just as tight. "Im so happy you're home and safe!" you said quietly and tears started to form in your eyes. He let of the hug and looked at you as he kept smiling. "Of course! I promised you i'd come home to you, didn't I?" he asked and you nodded and let out a breathy giggle. You were so happy and just relived to see him home and safe and free!
Your tears slowly slid down your face as you smiled up at him. He still had his smile on his face as he wiped your tears away. Then he covered every inch of your face in kisses. You giggle happily as you hung on to his while you let him continue.
After he was done, he gently grabbed your chin and forced you to look up at him. When you to made eye contact he smiled softly. Which made you melt. You loved his smile. Slowly he leaned down and kissed you slowly. The kiss was full of passion and love! You could just feel the raw emotion radiating off of him. You turned your head to deepen the kiss and you could just feel Connor melt into your touch. You smiled into the kiss as you wrapped your arms around his neck. He followed you and wrapped his arms around your back, being carful not to touch your wounds.
After a few minutes of making out, you too broke the kiss and just looked at each other. You were both so happy and both feelings were so genuine. You hugged him again once more, then whispered in his ear, "I love you Connor." you said softly. He smiled a huge smile and whispered right back, "I love you too, Y/N." and kissed your head.
Then Hank came back in the room and made a fake gagging sound. Which made both of you laugh and look his way. Then Connor looked back down at you and said, "You think we're gonna be okay?" you smiled and nodded,
"Yeah, we're gonna be okay."

You detached yourself from Jimin as soon as you appeared again, you tried to shove him away from you but your effort only provoked you to fall down. Between the gags and the sobs you couldnât breathe properly. You inhaled sharply trying to regain balance being in your fours on the floor. You felt Jimin attempting to help you stand but you screamed when his hands made contact with your arms.
-Donât!-
You still couldnât believe it, it seemed like a nightmare, Jiho being discovered, Yoongi showing no mercy or consideration towards Jiho or even you, even when you begged him. The moment of Yoongi slitting Jihoâs throat, and the blood, all that blood. You gagged again but managed to keep it in, or your body didnât have anything else to throw up. The scream drew the attention of the other inhabitants of the manor. Hoseok was alarmed when he came the first, staring at you and then at Jimin in utter confusion.
-Y/N- he muttered going closer to you but stopping when you lifted a palm for him to keep his distance. Hoseok regarded Jimin then the silent question in his eyes coming to his mouth when Jimin only could shake his head and look at you. -What happened?-
There were more steps and murmurs, you obligated yourself to stand and put up a strong face, swallowing hard your cries and tried to breathe deeply and steady to not pass out or fall again. Jungkook and Jin were there, the former just looking at you and Jimin while Jin took a step towards you with hands held up high.
-I just want to know if you are hurt-
You shook your head. Taking a step to walk away, seeing some other demons where starting to gather around too, you wanted to be alone and not being stared at like some injured animal. You were ok, it was Jiho who was dead. Namjoon came and started shouting orders for everyone to clear the area, you saw Jungkook looking over his shoulder so you turned in that direction, seeing Taehyung was standing on the high of the staircase that lead to the long hallways of the maze that was the manor. A rapid torrent of energy emerged in you, suddenly your feet felt sure and you were in full control of your body again, you strode to him under the bewildered stare of the other demons present, even Taehyung was taken aback when you threw the first punch.
-What the fuck?- he let out as he dodged the second strike.
-You fucking asshole, this is all your fault!- you lunged forward to attack him, trying to hurt him even if it was on the slightest, it was impossible even less without a weapon but such was your fury that you just kept going screaming at him. -All this happened because of you, fucking traitor, you couldnât keep it to yourself, no, you have to fuck up peoples lives to make it miserable like yours!-
Jungkook and Jimin intervened, Jimin took you away from Taehyung while Jungkook just stood closer with his shadows ready.
Taehyung crossed his arms and just stared at you for a couple seconds, seeing your agitated breathing and how you struggled once more in Jiminâs hold. He nodded cocking his head to the side slightly before turning around and leaving.
-Come back asshole! You prick, Jiho is dead! Heâs fucking dead- you cried out feeling the sobs coming again, Taehyung kept going and then Hoseok was in front of you.
-Y/N- he said softly, you could almost feel empathy coming from him but after today you couldnât say that was something demons could feel, or at the very least Yoongi couldnât, which was worse. -Let me take you to your room-
You didnât know what to do besides curling to a ball and try to breathe. The memories of the last couple of days coming to your mind like gusts of wind. It was almost obvious something like this would happen, it was obvious it was bound to happen being in this world. Nevertheless that didnât do anything to diminish the guilt you felt, you hadnât been able to protect Jiho, you wondered if you had been mean to him then he would be alive, so much for being a nice person. You were so stupid.
And Yoongi. You didnât think you would be able to look at him in eye, not without feeling your insides turn.
You looked at your surroundings, the place where you had been sleeping, living. You had told yourself you were there just because it was safer but honestly you had grown used to living with Yoongi, the comfort and luxury the manor offered, the boys around always up to something. But they were not boys and Yoongi wasnât just a loving boyfriend who shared his extravagant life with you. Now you not only saw Yoongi in the objects scattered around the room, you saw yourself. The tv, your shoes, your clothes, your books, your makeup, even your hair was all over. For some reason that you couldnât put your finger on the fact that you were so present there made you want to cry again. Like you had betrayed yourself.
Yoongi appeared at that moment, you stared at him feeling all the anger hit you all over again.
-How could you?- was all you managed to say, shaking your head.
He turned to you to pierce you with those cold eyes, he took two steps closer to you, calm and collected until he spoke.
-You dare say that to me?- it was then when his anger came to the surface. He came closer and you thought of backing away but held your ground, gathering all that rage you were feeling to be able to face him and not be intimidated. -You went behind my back- he spat.
-I didnât!- you denied strongly.
Yoongi cornered you, way too fast for you to react or scape. You were against the wall and his hand held your jaw tightly for you to stare directly at his eyes. -Are you going to deny that wasnât your ex boyfriend? Do I need to remind you I saw everything in him regarding you?- he growled. -You are mine Y/N, I donât tolerate you seeing your ex when you say you are with friends, studying- he scoffed. -You lied to me-
What could you say? That was true, you had lied to him. But even if you had, for you that didnât amend what he had done.
-Let go of me- you demanded lowly but firmly. -I said let go- you repeated trying to push him away. but Yoongi kept his posture and hold on you. -Are you going to hurt me? Thatâs it?-
-You know well the answer to that- he scoffed again
-Then let go-
He did after a couple of seconds of furious glaring. You couldnât bare looking at him, being close to him, not under the same roof and even less in the same room. You started looking for a bag, something to put your stuff into, you didnât know what would you do after this, maybe go to Anjiâs or Yuriâs before you could rent something again.
-What are you doing? Y/N, what the fuck you think you are doing?- You tried to keep going without answering him but Yoongi appeared in front of you when you were about to go into the bathroom for your toiletries.
-Stop- he demanded.
-Iâm leaving-
The statement made Yoongi inhale sharply but he didnât move. -You will put everything behind just for today-
You almost dropped the bag you had halfway stuffed with clothes and the random objects scattered around the room. Â Was this really the end of everything for you two? You stared at Yoongi, the face that you loved, the eyes that set every single pore on you on fire. You didnât know if you were capable of it, of not loving him, but for now you couldnât be next to him.
-Yes-
Yoongi tightened his fists, the anger flashed on his eyes but he just nodded, going back to that stone cold state that had provoked this, that you realized you hated because it hurt more than anything else he could do.
-Very well- he nodded once more and you swallowed to not cry. He didnât move so you were standing facing each other, perhaps silently wondering if this was really happening. If nothing ever got to him, if you could put him behind. -You can leave if thatâs what you want, but not now- You opened your mouth to refute but he was quicker with words. -The conflict with the demons itâs too heated right now, if you go you will be an easy prey for them-You shook your head and he just took his chin higher. -You are a weakness to me, they will take advantage of you- he spat and his spiteful tone made your insides turn with hurt.
-Let me through Yoongi- you were about to cry. -I canât be with you right now-
He did, only to reappear in front of the bedroom door. -If you truly cannot bare my presence then Iâll arrange rooms for you, here in the manor, you wonât have to see me but youâll be safe-
You assessed his proposal for a brief moment, your stubborn side said you had to go out of that place, but the logical side said staying and accepting the new arrangement was the smartest choice. You nodded, putting down the bag to cross your arms, although more than looking defensive you must have looked like you were trying to hold yourself together.
-Give me an hour- he stretched his neck giving you a look youâd have deem desperate if you hadnât been so angry and hurt. -Donât leave- he commanded just before he disappeared.
Yoongi kept his word, after an hour you heard a knock on the door and saw Hoseok standing outside, his expression was neutral, probably not wanting to meddle in business that were not his, but as he told you to follow him his eyes went to you from time time.
-We had to improvise- he said after you had walked for at almost ten minutes, which was a lot considering you were still in the same floor. -You see guests rooms are in another area butâŚ-
-He wanted me to be as close as possible- you said with a sigh, resenting a little your own tone and all the mixed feelings inside of you.
Hoseok nodded. -You know how it is Y/N⌠or perhaps not after all- he muttered with a sigh a bit more quietly, you were going to ask what he meant by that but Hoseok opened the door and started to show you the room. -The maids will bring your belongings so do not worry about that, and any other thing that you might need or wish you just need to ask-
You wanted to ask what he meant by the first thing he said, but instead you just thanked him and Hoseok left, leaving you alone in your new space, a big room with wallpapers that made you think of the french renaissance. The cream and gold pattern was exquisite and it went wonderfully with the bed, which was what you would describe as a princess bed. If this was improvisation you could only imagine what they could do with time ahead.
You had only brought your laptop and purse with you when you first came, so you requested the maids to bring you clothes and your bath stuff. You didnât want to risk going back and encountering Yoongi, you couldnât look at him. A bath seemed like a good idea, but you were exhausted and didnât feel like doing anything except from crying your heart out. Were you weak because you cared? You couldnât just shut down your feelings, your empathy for others, something Yoongi lacked. Even so you had wanted to believe heâd react thinking about you.
The maids came in with your clothes, arranging everything in the closet silently, as discreet as the shadows of their master. You took the bath after they were gone, your thoughts revolting in your head no matter how much you wanted to keep them away. You thought about all the blood, Jihoâs confused stare, Yoongiâs hand piercing through him like it was nothing. You thought about his mother, she wouldnât be having his son calling back ever again. All because of you.
-Did she say anything?- Yoongiâs voice had a bit of an echo on the meeting room. He was sitting by the fire with a scroll on his lap and a drink at hand. Intelectual investigations were as important as field ones, and it helped to settle down his mind. He heard Hoseok approaching and thus his question, he was angry but your well being would always be important to him.
-It seems like sheâll stay- Hoseok answered after he was closer. Yoongi nodded taking a sip of his drink not looking at Hoseok. -Would this be an interference? I must say this will lift the uproar of reprobation against her-
-So thatâs what the great underworld has become? A gossiping playground? if anyone disagrees with me I encourage to come for my head instead of going around gossiping like bloody girls- he took another chug of his drink to then looked at Hoseok who was already standing by him. -You can go spread that, put it in the walls if you must-
Hoseok scoffed. -Iâm just saying clock is ticking for a good part of them, they wonât fully respect Y/N until she turns-
If she turns. Yoongi refrained himself from spitting that out. The thought of you leaving him disarmed him and thus he couldnât stand it, even less with Hoseok or anyone else around, or with everything he had to deal with. -That is suspended until new notice and end of the issue, now, any news about the possible lair of the lizards?-
Hoseok nodded. -Of the four groups we sent three of them came back empty handed, either it were false leads or they couldnât find more clues to guide them to the lizards-
-What about the fourth one?-
-Forth one hasnât come back, their destiny was Japan and since they cannot be tracked we assume they either fell into a trap orâŚ-
-Or they are dead, killed by the lizards and the warlock who is helping them- Hoseok nodded.
-Alright, we will set for Japan soon then, this shit show has to end-
There was a knock on your door in the middle of the night. Startled you thought what you could tell  Yoongi to go away, to made it clear to him you didnât want to see him and even less sleep with him. You stood up and opened the door with the words already prepared on the tip of your tongue, there was nothing he could say right now for you to go back sleep with him. But after opening the door you found out it wasnât Yoongi standing in front of you, it was Taehyung.
-I donât want to talk to you- you said with the resentment latent in your tone.
-I didnât break our deal- he stated before you closed the door. -Iâm serious, I didnât, we donât break our deals-
You let go of the door to cross your arms. -Then how Yoongi found out?-
Taehyung sighed. -I donât know, maybe he had you followed or he just figured you out- you shook your head exhaling. You stared at him in the eye, he seemed a bit bothered but there was none of his mischievous annoying smirks. What was Taehyung doing? Why he had come see you so late at night?
-You blood thirsty creatures, go away Taehyung-
You were going to close the door but the held it this time. -What did you expect?- he stepped forward to your room and you glared. -You knew well what you were doing was going to have a bad ending, and you still did it-
-Thatâs becauseâŚ-
He leaned down a little and confronted you with the truth and perhaps why you were so angry. -It is your own fault-
You winced after hearing it. -Yoongi didnât listen, heâŚ- your mind took you back to that moment again and you shuddered. -He was so ruthless, he was soâŚ-
Taehyung sighed again but this time an ironic smile dancing on his face, he stood straight again and in full heigh you realized you barely reached his shoulder. -Yoongi is who he is, but any of us would have done the same- you were going to refute but he went on. -Even Jimin- he scoffed perhaps a bit reluctant to admit Jiminâs value because of their newfound rivalry. -Maybe not as bloody but you get the picture-
You bit your lip, putting your hair behind your ears still not able to evaluate this situation with a clear head. -You are all beasts then-
-You are right- he conceded. -But truth is if you wereâŚ- he regretted his words and started again. -If my girl was rounded by some prick who wanted to bang her IâŚ- he hesitated again, you werenât sure why but he looked uncomfortable and frustrated all of the sudden. -I would certainly want to kill them-
You took a deep breath, demons werenât humans, you should have never have forgotten about that, they didnât take things like you, Yoongi wasnât like anybody else, but you still felt bad, that didnât make things ok. Your thoughts about Yoongi prevented you of seeing Taehyungâs strained face.
When you looked at him again he was back with his usual arrogant expression. Should you thank him? He had said that to make you feel better, but explaining how they were violent beings per nature didnât seem like something you should be grateful for at the moment. So you just nodded.
-You better get going then- you said when you realized he was practically inside your room, you felt self conscious even more when you looked down and remembered you were only wearing your little pajamas.
Taehyung noticed your discomfort and by reaction his eyes traveled up and down before he took a step back as he fought the little smile that flourished at your discomfort. -Practice tomorrow?-
-Yes, now get out of here- you rushed and he chuckled before going away.
You went to practice with Taehyung, you felt tired because of the lack of sleep but then the extra effort brought you to exhaustion and at the same time you managed to let out some steam. It was good and Taehyung wasnât acting different so you felt at ease, you didnât insist on him giving you away as you believed him and he didnât press on the matter trying to excuse Yoongi either. The sporadic chat limited to swordsmanship technics and how you were still out of shape.
The day went by with you training and resting alone, it was in plain afternoon when you got a call from Yuri. She was crying and before she finished speaking you knew what what she was going to say. Jiho had had a terribly accident, his car was found in a highway and apparently he had died instantly with the impact. -Heâs gone Y/N, this is so crazy-
You took one deep breath, because that lie was so dirty, because you felt guilty of knowing the reality of his death. He had suffered and he had been afraid, and he hadnât deserved it. You knew Yoongi would cover his tracks, but somehow it added more to your anger.
Yuri told you the place of the funeral but you didnât know if you would be able to attend, he was dead because of you after all.
You washed your face and then found your way outside the manor as fast as you could, you needed air. You had to lift up your head and go on, you deep down knew that very well, but it was hard doing that being so close to Yoongi. So you walked around the gardens, caressing the flowers with the tip of your fingers, feeling the last rays of the sun on your cheeks. Lately everything had been darkness, you were surrounded by shadows, in a tainted love with a shadow king what else did you expect? It angered you as it saddened you at the same time, his reaction and yours. Yoongi had been more ruthless than you had imagined, you werenât as strong as you thought you were.
Suddenly you felt goosebumps all over your body, looking over your shoulder you saw him there. Think too much about the devil and he might appear. Yoongi was all steel beauty and coldness, even more as he dressed all in black making his pale skin paler in contrast, his movements so smooth, he didnât make a sound, like the shadows he bared.
-If you come here to tell me not to leave you can go away, Iâm just taking a walk- you said as you suspected what he might be thinking.
-Y/N you are not my prisoner-
-Really?-
He shook his head. -You have all the freedom you want, but Iâm sure you understand what is safe and what is not-
-All the freedom I want- you scoffed. -Thatâs so big, you are so generous-
Yoongi lifted his chin not lashing out at your sarcasm. -I donât think I have to explain myself to you, you are smart enough Y/N-
-You know what else is generous of you?- you took a step to him ignoring his remark. -That you made it seem like a painless accident, so the family donât suffer I imagine- you huffed. -When in reality Jiho died in fear and pain, you are really generous and thoughtful-
-Would had it been better for you if I let them know the truth? that their boy was slaughtered in an alley?- he was the one scoffing then, coming real close to you. -You think I regret it? It means nothing to me- he spat in that cold anger of his.
-Nothing means anything to you- you said feeling the tears coming to your eyes. You wanted to believe that wasnât true, a part of you had been so sure of it, how he cared about you, how sweet he could be, how loving, and thenâŚ
-Does that boy mattered that much to you?- he asked frustrated.
-Itâs not about that Yoongi, donât you see it?- you looked around at the beautiful garden, the sun had set and the night covered everything with its darkness, just like the demon lord in front of you did.
You walked away from him but this time Yoongi didnât oppose or restrained you with his shadows, he just let you go.
You had expected him to follow you or appear in front of your room to keep arguing, but Yoongi had really let go at least for today. What you didnât expect was seeing Taehyung standing just outside your room, really odd considering him not even using to coming to this floor.
-What is it?-
-Where were you? Jimin panicked because he didnât find you-
You sighed. -Itâs fine, tell Jimin is ok, I just met with the all mighty so there will be no trouble for him-
Taehyung chuckled. -Still hadnât made peace I see-
You shrugged looking at Taehyung a bit more attentively. -What are you really doing here? Helping Jimin, yeah right-
-Y/N, you donât give me enough credit- you sharpened your gaze and he smirked. -Maybe I wanted to stir the pot a bit more-
You shook your head but smiled a little. -Is that even possible?-
-Of course it could, you must be bored out of your mind-
Taehyung wanted trouble it was obvious now, but you had enough of that. -Honestly, I wish I was bored, Iâm just⌠I guess itâs a little hard being here all the time, training helps though-
-You want to go out?-
-I just took a walk- you shrugged.
-I meant out of here, of the manor-
You pushed your hair back. Why was he saying that all of the sudden? What did he want? Did he want to kill you? No, Jungkook had said he didnât want that anymore. So what was it with him? -I donât want more trouble Taehyung-
-It wonât be trouble if no one finds out-
You arched a brow. -Really? Yoongi, the demon lord of the shadows who controls every breath that is taken under the sky wonât realize Iâm not here?-
Taehyung shrugged. -You give too much importance to yourself Y/N-
You glared and he laughed.
You were going to evade him and just go to your room but then an idea came to your mind, it took you a moment to gather courage and will but you figured this was your opportunity.
-Actually thereâs a place we could go-
He showed a little teeth in his smirk, unapologetic, Â always ready to create trouble. -Letâs go-
