#I'm not evil for not liking children

Gonna comment on this both as me, and on behalf of my main character Tess. So I have intentionally not mentioned how bad or why Tess has an issue with children, because I'm on the fence of whether or not I'm going to give her the same issue I have.
I have pedophobia, this means I have a natural negative response towards children and young teens. I don't care whose child it is, I don't care how old they are, I don't care how nice or how smart they are - I cannot stand children. I inform anybody with children not to bring them anywhere near me because I always have a negative reaction, it's not that I have any intention or desire to harm them but I don't want to put a child in any form of danger, physical or emotional.
And the thing is is that I've always been this way, even when I myself was a child I did not like people younger than me. Thankfully the cutoff seems to be around 14 to 16, when my brain decides that they are now people and I can stop feeling that ick whenever I see them.
I'm not going to pretend like this is everybody's reason for feeling negatively towards kids, but this is my personal reason and why I will not be shamed into being around children when I know I and the child will not be comfortable.
always astounds me when adults hate kids cause like. did you just Forget about how unfair the world seemed when YOU were a child?? do you not remember being upset about how no adult ever seemed to respect you or listen to you at all? and now youre gonna just go on and treat kids like the way you hated being treated when you were one. ok
#irl me#pedophobia#fanfic#I'm not evil for not liking children#I'm not a broken woman for not liking children#it's not the end of the world if people don't like kids

This was a reply to someone else, but I'm making this its own post because so many people are being so evil right now re: Noah Schnapp.
You can find other, longer explanations with history and all, but all the places I've seen more or less agree with this:
So you're all calling people to cancel Noah because he's in favor of a Jewish nation in what is today Israel. Which is a perfectly reasonable, decent and educated opinion to have, especially when you, to use a trendy term, "educate yourself" and find out why the state of Israel was created.
11000 dead Palestinians, half of them children
According to Hamas. Don't forget that, ever. They're the current, official government of Gaza, thus they're the ones who give numbers. This means that the real number could be 10, 1 million, anything in between. What I've read is that they probably give more of less accurate total numbers. What they fail to do, however, is distinguish between Hamas militants and civilians, and beteween civilians killed by IDF strikes, civilians killed by failed Hamas or Palestininan Islamic Jihad's rockets (which happens a lot), and Palestinians murdered by Hamas/PIJ (which also happens, a whole damn lot). They also don't specify how many civilians they have prevented or tried to prevent from evacuating or receiving aid.
11k dead people is a horrible number. Even 1 dead person is a horrible number. However, urban warfare in such a densely populated area is its own kind of hell, especially when the other side is fond of using civilians as human shields in every way possible. The fact that the number is 11k and not 50k, 100k, and so on, indicates that the IDF have indeed done a lot to minimize deaths. You don't genocide people by doing roof knocks, opening evacuation lines, dropping guided bombs, putting up an Iron Dome to deal with rockets while avoiding escalation, etc. simply because actual genocide, while a lot worse, is also cheaper, easier and faster than what they're doing. This is important because caling every act of war genocide dilutes the word, and there are actual genocides happening around the world. Also, there is a difference between striking military targets and causing civilian deaths as a side effect (what the IDF is doing) and planning and carrying out a massacre deliberately targeting civilians and inflicting as much pain and humilliation as possible on them. And there is a difference between doing so by breaking a ceasefire (which is what Hamas did), and defending your country because if you don't do that a terrorist group will anhilate you (which is what the IDF is doing).
Back to Noah. So far, these are the things that people have tried to cancel him for:
Traveling to Israel (a completely normal thing)
Having Israeli friends (another completely normal thing)
Condemning Hamas' horrible attack on October 7th (the decent thing to do)
Posting a statement saying he feels unsafe as a Jewish person in the US (which, given the rise of antisemitic acts in the world, including the US, including where he lives and where he studies, is a valid feeling to have)
Signing a letter, along with Shawn Levy, Brett Gelman, Ross Duffer and I think Cara Buono, asking Biden to press for the liberation of every hostage by Hamas. This especially shows the utter ignorance of the cancellers because, as it turns out, caring about every hostage implies a slowdown of IDF's actions (and, at the time, a delay of a ground invasion).
Supporting the existence and preservation of the state of Israel (once again, a completely normal thing). The fact that people are turning against him for these things says to me that the real reason you are all hating Noah is beacuse:
He's Jewish. Like, really really Jewish.
And the fact that this all comes from a place of antisemitism isn't hidden at all: I've seen y'all on here, on Twitter, Reddit, every other social media calling him slurs (such as "cunt"), censoring his name, pretending he's not part of the cast, asking the Duffers/Netflix to fire him, wishing him failure, doxxing him, calling on his classmates to physically assault him, etc. He doesn't need to educate himself: you guys are already teaching him a great lesson on why a Jewish state is necessary. If that's the treament he gets from his own "fans", what can he expect from the world at large?
#byler#noah schnapp#antisemitism#jumblr#stranger things#i know many people here are actual children or college students#who have never lived war or armed conflict#and this is baby's first social justice fight#but the way you're acting towards Noah is disgusting and evil#I'm not even jewish but I know what terrorism is like#and I know what it's like to have idiot 1st worlders be on the terrorists' side because they think they're “liberators” or something#harming the very people you think they help

i think the wildest thing about coryo slipping and saying he killed 3 people is that it shows how guilty he feels for sejanus' death??? like in this brief moment of unguarded honesty, when he's speaking without thinking first, he fully blames himself for sejanus' death.
all i'm saying is that if he was a pure evil sociopath who never gave a damn i don't think he would blame himself at all; it's so easy to point the finger instead at gaul, at whoever pulled the lever, at the rebels who involved sejanus. snow's not the one who committed the crime, who gave the order, or who pulled the trigger. but in the end he -- without promoting, without argument -- incriminates himself.
i'm just. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
#the hunger games#the ballad of songbirds and snakes#coriolanus snow#sejanus plinth#snowjanus#i mean ig it's consistent with even fully evil president snow to be honest w himself about his evil#like his brutal honesty with katniss#his “we both know i'm not above killing children”#BUT IT'S STILL. AHHHHHH. SCREAMING CRYING THROWING U P

Back when he was still with Shinra Sephiroth used to secretly write fanfiction about himself. All of it was basically him having a normal life with his friends Angeal and Genesis, and of course his mother Jenova. It was pretty well received by those who read them, but even if they weren’t Sephiroth just enjoyed writing them. Years later after returning from the lifestream yet again Sephiroth decides for old time’s sake to write again. And while people are happy that NormalHuman7777 had returned they’re all also very confused because their stories have now drastically changed. Their new stories are no longer about the late general in a normal and domestic setting, but now their about him becoming a god? And Sephiroth’s mother is also now an alien? Where’s Angeal and Genesis, they used to have huge roles in the stories, but they’re not even so much as mentioned. Also who’s this Cloud person the author keeps shipping with Sephiroth? Every new story now has Cloud in it and the author spends paragraphs detailing everything involving Cloud, talking about how beautiful he is, and how much Sephiroth wants him, and they always get together at the end if not sooner. Is he a self insert? Also the author really hates their OCs Tifa and Aerith, always having the two die in the most horrific ways.
You know what would make this all so much funnier? If young Cloud was a fan of NormalHuman7777's works. Perhaps he even had a bit of a friendship with NormalHuman7777, with the two messaging from time to time and bouncing ideas off each other.
When Sephiroth starts writing again, Cloud gets a little notification about the new fic. He decides that even though he has no interest in reading Sephiroth fanfiction anymore, he may as well comment on the fic for old time's sake. Except when he goes to the comments, people are asking about this new Cloud character and this whole "God" plotline.
Sephiroth's fanfic: Cloud leaned his head back, exposing his neck to his god in a sign of submission. He looked even more beautiful than normal as his mouth parted just enough for his tongue to dart across his chapped lips. As Sephiroth reached out and touched Cloud's neck, the blonde's throat bobbed in nervous anticipation. A rather feminine looking man, it was nearly impossible to see or notice Cloud's adam's apple. Still, the faint bulge of Cloud's adam's apple felt devine under Sephiroth's thumb, and Sephiroth pushed harder to feel the cartilage better.
"Beautiful," Sephiroth praised.
Cloud's eyes fluttered shut with content pride as his god praised him. He felt stupid for ever opposing the great god and for trying to hide from Jenova's warm embrace.
"I know," Sephiroth said, sensing the distress that washed over precious doll as memories of those horrid women came back to him, "but now you are exactly where you belong, and you will never leave me again. We will be together forever--a god and his most cherished possession--and there is nothing those fools can ever do to change that."
"Sephiroth, please," Cloud begged, leaning further into Sephiroth's touch, "please fuck me. I want to be one with you in everyway. I need you inside of me!"
Cloud: What the actual fuck.
#This would be fun to write as a full fic#Just the most unhinged story about Sephiroth becoming a god with the support of his alien mom#And Cloud is like this beautiful damsel in distress who is either being manipulated and tricked by the “evil” Tifa and Aerith#Or he's being forced to serve them but his heart longs to be with Sephiroth and he's too scared to defy them#sephiroth#cloud strife#sefikura#ff7#ffvii#I'm kinda imagining Dragon's Lair 2 and Cloud being Dauphine#Complete with the outfit and him happily going “you saved me!” and covering Sephiroth with kisses at the end#(not to mention all the children hahah)

Ok I know I'm heavily biased here but like I kinda love that Astarion's romance is one of the few in this type of video game where you basically end up canonically unmarried and childfree in his "good" ending? Just travelling the world??
Like it's honestly the millennial dream lmfaoo cannot believe i chose what would undoubtedly be my favorite option, first try
#also love that he's basically atheist like ok thanks you made the man exactly coded to be my type#and the humor and beautiful curly hair is very much something my IRL partner has too so like... how can i resist#anyways not sure a lot of people relate cause i think a lot of people want that fairytale romance#even tho wyll is right there yall#but i love me an unconventional or nontraditional one!!#i'm TIRED of being married with children as the endgame pls let's not do it#also a lot of people seem into him being a dad and im like... how? why? where in canon did he ever lmfao#more power to ya if you dig it but i just dont see it being in character#like in DAI i loved cullen and my inquisitor getting married and having a dog#and they seem the type to wants kids one day. but Tav & Astarion? lol no#i just think it's neat#is this a hot take? i have no idea but i don't see it mentioned a lot as a new fan tbh#pls do not come at me you can enjoy whatever you like#i haven't seen the ascended stuff so idk if being his 'consort' is like being his bride#but i feel like overall it's not and the vibe isn't all that different in this sense#except that you're hosting evil parties instead of travelling :/#Astarion#bg3 spoilers#baldur's gate 3#baldur's gate 3 spoilers#bg3#also YEA he's nice to Arabella but you can tolerate certain kids without wanting one or being 'good parent' material#case in point: me lmfao#OKAY update i saw the AA stuff and yeah you're kind of implied vamp married and he does mention spawn as children 😫#but he also says in banter he won't make any other spawn??? so what is it dude#anyway that's also clearly the “bad” route and he doesn't seem as happy as unascended#who feels “truly free”#and if you're durge I'm pretty sure its even worse to consider having kids?? lol#but i digress#pk plays bg3

every time i see someone make the "trapper didn't leave a note" argument i lose 5 years off my life fr

just went and listened to the usum version of ghetsis’ battle theme and it’s actually got me feeling like this image
like. you mentioned the whips cracking. you didn’t mention the way it sounds like pure bloodlust. i don’t know what it is about it but it sounds like sheer hatred and evil. it doesn’t even sound like a pokémon boss theme. it sounds like the song itself is trying to kill me. and like it could. this is a ghetsis theme with a PUNCH to it. i am viscerally uncomfortable just listening. and i LOVE it. what on earth did they put in it. that is the definitive version of his theme now
IT'S SUCH A GOOD THEME. They somehow manage to make it sound more threatening than the original which is a feat. And it fits so well with the context being that this Ghetsis won in the world he came from. The song itself just sounds cruel, it's perfectly fitting for the version of him who succeeded in conquering Unova.
Just everything about it fills you with this sense of dread that you got from the original but it feels so much more intense here. Every time I listen to it, it makes my skin crawl, it's so great.
#thanks for the ask <3#come join me in “ghetsis' usum theme is the superior ghetsis theme” land#it takes what makes the original so intimidating and then crank it up to eleven#it's not even mimicking arceus' theme anymore and it's still so scary#putting this in the tags because i'm rambling and being less coherent here#like i mentioned in my response#the song itself sounds cruel and it does share that trait with the original#but like you said this one has a punch to it#along with being fitting for the ghetsis that was able to win#it's so fitting of the cruelty that that goes along with being able to commit the acts needed to get to that point#and that includes maybe killing n#idk it just becomes all the more terrifying on top of everything else when you think about what had to be done#for ghetsis to get what he wanted#truly a theme fitting for someone willing to kill children and to kill his own son in a heartbeat if it could benefit him#it sounds so evil and if he *did* kill n if he did all the things he needed to do to win#then it makes sense#a more evil sounding song for a version of ghetsis#who did much eviler things to get where he is#gaaahhh sorry for rambling i just think about ghetsis in usum a lot

why is there so much discourse over characters being good or evil in the Morally Grey/Everyone Commits Murder and Warcrimes book
#jin guangyao#wei wuxian#jiang cheng#nie huaisang#xue yang#mdzs#i could tag more characters but i think these guys get the most flak#listen character analysis is one thing but i'm convinced some of y'all can't read#yeah there are the comically 'evil' characters like wen ruohan and jin guangshan who are meant to garner no sympathy#and the only completely 'good' characters are the literal children#because y'know#there's a clear dichotomy between the generation of teenagers who were forced to fight a war#and the generation of teenagers who are allowed to run around solving scooby doo mysteries#everyone in between is a mixed bag of trauma and conflicting motivations

The thing about being autistic is you want to loke correct misconception and it is in your brain an act of like. Love for the thing and wanting to share it with others. Unfortunately this is very hard to do without sounding like a shithead.
#gnashing of teeth#For me anyway#Though I was pretty generally steamed#But also I was telling my friends the movie theater was turning me evil#Because people were being wrong about Sonic#and Sonic is my best friend I can't abide by that#I did not correct the literal children that would've been insane#But do you get what I'm saying. I think it sucks I'm like this and I try to not but eventually#I just kind of run out of brain power to not. And so I become a shithead. Im so sorry about that genuinely#Anyway hi I just got home

#drifblim#does this one still kill children? let's find out#oh wow this one is killing adults and also pokémon‚ too. it's moved up in the world from children to Literally Everyone. that's not good#why are they so cute if they're both so evil. i don't get it. their cute appearance lures you in‚ only for them to snatch you up i guess#why do they even want to do that to me. why are they taking me to the afterlife. what is in the afterlife that they want me to see#or maybe i'm assuming too much good-will out of these fuckers. maybe they just REALLY like murder. which someone finds relatable

Giving a complicated tragic childhood backstory to your favorite character is all fun and games, until you realize you need to account for how old all the other adult characters would have been at the time and realize that scenes that would work perfectly if one character was twenty three and the other was fourteen stop working when you need other characters who are played by adult actors clearly younger than they are to be in college at the same time so your story beats line up thematically.
#Don't worry. I made an excel document for this over a year ago#Was that unhinged? Yeah. But this is harder than you think it is#In unrelated news it is now reasonable to have a child in your 20s 30s or 40s depending on when the plot needs the child#Also people in their early 20s can be in grad school have already established careers and adopt children now. I've declared it.#Also: Hollywood stop trying to trick me into believing women in their 30s are the same age as men in their 50s. It's never gonna work.#I'm fighting for my life to make these age gaps normal even on a platonic level#Don't worry I aged the girls up and the boys down#But still this is a bit ridiculous#If you use the actors' ages it doesn't work. Garrison's actress is 16 years younger than Curtain. Why?#I mean I like the casting. But SQ is a teenager. We know Curtain has had his evil plans at least since SQ was born and lost his bio dad#and if the Whisperer is Garrison's invention that means she and Curtain were working together when SQ was born#If SQ in the show is 16 (the actor was older I believe) and Garrison is 37 (that's how old the actress is now she was younger at time)#That means Garrison was only 21 and Curtain was well into his 30s. And that's after you age SQ down and Garrison up for the calculations#So Garrison was likely (according to the shows' casting) even younger than that which begs the question what was Curtain doing?#Was he spending his 30s lurking around college campuses and high schools looking for a kid whose inventions he could steal?#What in the Marcus Cutter is that about?#All these jokes about Garrison being SQ's uninvolved divorced stepmom but nah she's really his estranged big sister#also this is very frustrating because the irl age gap between the actress who plays Number Two and Tony Hale only 7 years#but they're the ones for whom a 16 year age gap would have actually made sense because he adopts her in the books!#but now since Garrison is clearly so much younger than Number Two Curtain and Benedict I have to deal with this#(Don't worry I figured it out and made the age gaps normal. You just now have to believe Number Two is only a year older than Garrison)#It was the stress of living with her family that aged her and Garrison just looks naturally super young that's what we're going with.#And don't get me wrong:#I do like the actresses and actors they casted they're great but sometimes I google the ages and I'm like oh you cannot be serious#But we've (more or less) figured it out#Rant over#writing#writing struggles#tmbs

#I don't like this character and you do? okay hell yeah tell me why you like him so much#and also vice versa#it's fun because hey I'm talking about silly children's fantasy books and not everyone who disagrees with me is evil#kotlc

Can we all collectively start to view parents who post online about the "fuck-ups" their child did as what it is - abusive? I genuinely do not care about the "reason" somebody has for posting their child on the internet, if it can be "solved" in the public court of shame and humiliation, it can be solved in a home that should love them.
Public humiliation is not an appropriate response to a child being a child. If your first line of defense is airing out your dirty laundry to millions of strangers, you are at best not mature enough to be a parent, and at worst, you are completely abusive and should not be a parent, and both options are pretty grim.
#abuse#abuse tw#youth liberation#saw somebody say that the most evil people they know are parents and... yeah. no fucking wonder that person said that#i'm sorry i get that being a parent is hard. i think it is an amazing feat in fact.#but i have so much scorn for parents who decide to leave the parenting to bullies and directly put their children in harm's way#NOWHERE in parenting does it require you to stop parenting and instead go 'well let's have billy bob bully you into submission'#NOWHERE in parenting does it say it's appropriate to gain clout off your kid making kid-level fuck-ups#start treating your children like human beings or i'm going to start biting#if you ever want to know what it's like to be a parent and have your kid block your number and never talk to you - come speak with me#i was the kid who blocked my abusive parent's number completely. i never speak to them. i do not have a nice thing to say to them.#if you would like that to be your future then you are not in the headspace to be a parent#kid's fuck-ups are typically significantly less of a fuck-up than what some of y'all adults do as a fuck-up#so it's like... gain some perspective about what the cost is and what the 'reward' is

i think part of what makes so many people just flock to dungeon meshi as well is that it's also a story involving an autistic main character, who actually IS the main character
Because many stories will have an autistic character in them and then the story is more about how all the neurotypical people AROUND the autistic character deal with the characters autism, and the autistic character ends up as a side-character in a story that's supposed to be ABOUT them.
But in dungeon meshi, Laios especially is so much the main character! And i know he's not the only one, and not the only autistic character obv, and i know the story isn't about just him alone OR his autism...
But we get Laios' perspective. On just about everything. The story is, in the roughest terms, about the party venturing into the dungeon in order to save Falin, who got eaten by the red dragon. They're on a time constraint and have no money or equipment except what they literally have on their backs. That's the story.
Another author, a worse author, probably wouldn't have made Laios the party leader. A worse author would've relegated Laios to the "weird, awkward newbie who's excited about monsters but doesn't have the slightest clue or experience with them" who's job would've been to cite fun facts about whatever monster they encounter from some book he carries around, and the main interactions between him and the party would've been them yelling at him or calling him weird, to the point where you're wondering what this characters purpose even is in the story beyond comic relief.
And I'm so glad we didn't get this.
Instead of a story that emphasizes how "weird and unlikable" this weird character is, we get Laios being the partys leader, who, yes, is weird, but also competent and knowledgable and skilled and also is still a full character, with thoughts and feelings of his own, who actually speaks his mind and interacts with others on equal footing, who defends himself when he KNOWS he isn't in the wrong.
Laios and Shuros confrontation is both shocking, and also a huge breath of fresh air.
(Also, i know that "Shuro" isn't his real name but i can't remember his real name and I can't be bothered to look it up rn)
Shuro tells Laios to learn to read the room. A worse author would've had Laios apologize to Shuro for his own incompetence, but instead of meekly accepting that accusation, Laios throws it back in Shuros own face. That Shuro should've just been direct and honest with Laios when he KNEW that Laios wasn't getting it, instead of just playing along and letting that resentment fester.
And Laios is not only shouting it out, speaking his mind, and refusing to be treated as lesser than anyone else just because he can't "read the room", but he's also portrayed as RIGHT! Shuro would've have had to put up with Laios, whom he didn't like, but whom he let believe that they were friends, if he had just TOLD Laios he didn't like him DIRECTLY.
and look, i know that there's some hints or pages or whatever you wanna call them, that Shuro is also autistic, but comes with a different background, which basically just makes him and Laios incompatible in a certain sense.
But even with all that, Shuro still had no right to fault Laios for his shortcomings, when his own shortcomings played just as much of a role in their eventual confrontation. And the difference? Shuro KNEW how he himself AND Laios felt, but Laios only knew how he himself felt. Shuro was at an advantage in their situation, and he still faulted Laios and made him out to be this villain, who was purposely trying to make Shuro miserable, when Shuro himself NEVER opened his mouth to correct Laios!
And the thing is, Shuro isn't in the wrong for not liking Laios. Shuro is in the wrong for blowing up at Laios without EVER even giving him the chance to correct his behaviour!
And Laios KNOWS this, and he REFUSES to just apologize for something that wasn't even his fault! How could he possibly have known Shuro didn't like him, when Shuro never gave him any kind of indication of that fact?
And that's just it, isn't it?
Because I know I've experienced this kind of situation, even if exact memories don't come to mind, and I know other autistic or otherwise neurodivergent people have experienced this kind of thing. Of someone whom they were just having a normal conversation with or whom they considered a friend, just randomly blowing up at them for no conceivable reason. From our perspective, the other person just randomly decided they didn't like us anymore, didn't care about us anymore and wanted to be rid of us, or decided we were suddenly just evil, and they got mad at us, yelled at us, called us names, and then just left. And we're left confused and sad and, having no other information to go off of, because none was given to us, are bound to come to the conclusion that there's something wrong with us. We're just not likeable and any kindness from other people coming our way is just them being too polite to say anything until they've decided they had enough of us and abandon us. Because they never liked us. They were just too polite to say anything until they couldn't take us anymore.
#i won't lie that specific situation feel pretty personal#not to me specifically but to the author#because I'm not sure if any “normal” (neurotypical) person ever thinks about things like this#they just think we're dumb or malicious or something and don't even consider that maybe we just don't have all the pieces#and instead of just telling us we get treated like we've either evil or like we're children with the end result being that we get yelled at#and abandoned#oh hey while writing this a memory DID come to mind#in elementary school i wanted to play with these two classmates#and the thing is that they've apparently decided to play tag with me on the playground#except they didn't tell ME#so i was left looking for them all over while they kept running away from me for reasons i had no idea of#and the only reason i figured it out is bc i actually did get to see them once and was making a beeline for them only for them to point at#me and run away the moment they saw me#and i saw them doing that since i was beelining for them#can you imagine how hurt and betrayed i felt after that?#i had no idea why they were running from me#it's been 15 years and i still don't know#so the only reason i have left for why they could've done that is as a mean prank on me#because what other reason could there have been?#i've never been mean to them as far as i knew. from my perspective there was no reason for them to dislike me#and i know that others have had similar experiences and is it really any wonder that neurodivergent people have so much trouble making frie#*friends?#dungeon meshi#laios touden#laios dungeon meshi

40 dollars for a figure i can buy at wal-mart, not even a collector's figure or anything that's actually made for collectors. These people are scalping cheap action figures and selling them at a markup and calling it a side hustle? God damn.
welcome to the nightmare
#thebloodyheartgirl#i have merch brain so i watch the secondhand market like i'm#some white tie wall street stock broker.#believe me when i say people are not just unfair in how they price things but downright evil. the greed is incredible#especially when you remember that all this stuff is#for a CHILDRENS FRANCHISE. and you know what's the worst part?#sonic resellers aren't even as bad as it gets. pokemon is far worse
