Been thinking about what Ashton's FCG-inspired vest might look like, so here is a sketch based on that! I'm not 100% happy with it and I feel like it should maybe have a quote from FCG on it or something, but I'm posting it anyway because not everything has to be perfect.

I did make a long sleeve variant because they need warm clothes for the journey to Aeor, but I don't think it looks as nice.

i want to see kit going to everyday high school, making friends at lunchtime, talking a walk around the devon countryside with mina, training with jem and tessa, learning how to control his powers, finding his own style, exploring his sexuality, going to pride with his school friends and waving the bi flag around like a maniac, taking selfies and using tumblr to look at percy jackson fanart (he's definitely a tumblr user let's face it), i want him making cookies and sharing them with tessa while they have deep chats and do face masks, i need him training how to become a shadowhunter but also just going to the cinema with his friends and being a regular ass teenager, i want to see him just existing, growing and doing ordinary things

It took a while for our teenaged Phil to figure out what exactly was wrong with that ol' motorcycle his friend Hank told him about. If only Hank knew he had just unleashed a new obsession that'd follow Phil into adulthood.

Hank's father has had this thing for the better half of a decade, and when it broke down some two years ago, it was doomed to collect dust at his estate. Something about being a wealthy man meant being able to afford such fleeting hobbies, but he was charitable enough to give it to Phil so long as he was willing to put in the work to fix it.

It took months of troubleshooting and tinkering. The spare shed was in disarray; ground littered with spare parts and tools, smears of oil and grease (it was getting hard to tell what was what at this point), and a handful of mechanics guides and books. He had some sleepless nights, fueled by the interlocked hands of want and need shrouding his mind.

He often spent mornings climbing out of the shed and lugging himself onto the school bus, where Hank would give him a knowing look and insist on calling a mechanic from a few towns over to help-

"You can't keep sleeping through English, Phil. My father was only kiddin' about fixing it yourself."

but Phil knew better. Better to get the job done yourself. Feels better that way anyways.

God, was he right. He turned the key with baited breath, eyes wide as the instrument panel lit up. The motor purred to life in an instant, and when he turned one of the handles, it roared. He had never been happier, running his hand over the shiny red fuel tank, the tight upholstered leather seat. He laughed- he yawped. And Pa came rushin' over like he had heard the end of the world start from inside his own shed.

"Philly, what in the world are you doin' makin' this much noise?" "Finally got 'er workin', Pa!"

Pa's panic softened as he took a second to really listen to the motor. He circled the bike, staring down at it and back up at Phil. He was proud, honestly, as he clapped his hand over Phil's shoulder.

"Y'know, Ma didn't actually think you'd be able to fix it up. Think that was the only reason she let ya' have it."

And Phil's smile grew wider.

"I'll jus' tell 'er I'll only ride it into town." "You lyin'?" "Yup-yup."

When Ma found out, it took her nearly a year to come to terms with the fact that her baby boy was riding a motorcycle. Ever the worrywart. She frowned every time she watched him mount the bike, sighing as she watched him put on his helmet (that she made him get) and fix his riding gloves (that she also made him get).

But that bike was his pride and joy for years. He rode it to prom, and his high school graduation ceremony. He wiped it down every other day, and made sure the paint was still shiny. So when that trusty 1985 Honda Shadow finally bit the dust, he was devastated.

Cried real tears, maybe ones worse than when Joey left for the army.

And then picked himself up and started workin' hard to replace it. He drove Pa's ol' truck for the time being.

After a little while, he finally saved up enough to get a brand new bike. Could barely contain himself when Pa drove him to go pick it up- clutching onto his helmet, flipping the visor up and down like a light switch. He was thrilled to be back on a bike, and he practically left Pa in the dust during the ride home. (Phil pulled off to the side of the road to wait because he felt bad for leaving him so far behind.)

Even now, when you finally agree to take a ride with him on his precious bike, he's still just as excited as he was when he first mounted that Shadow back in high school- especially at the feeling of your arms wrapping around his middle and the side of your helmet pressed against his shoulder blade. He loves being close to you. He loves it even more when you're clinging onto him. He takes you out on the bike a lot more now that he knows you're not that scared of it anymore.

Went to the bookstore today and asked about their mythology section and this frickin guy had the gall to be like "Yeah it's over here, but these are really dense and difficult so let me show you the children's mythology section." I was so baffled I didn't say anything. Normally I would've been very offended, but I couldn't help but laugh because I was like "I've been reading those massive textbook-esque mythology books since I was a literal child as research for my novel, sir. But sure, show me the kid's section, I like reading kids' books too."

Guys I'm actually so invested in the team I ended up getting (technically choosing, but under a set of restrictions and honestly it was all brainless spur of the moment choices) for the "metronome battle" tournament I'm gonna be in with a few friends. I never used any of these Pokémon before in my fucking life but after carefully thinking about and curating their EVs and such to be the best they could be for the situation, I am SO proud of them and can't wait to see them in action!

(Except for Cheshire Cat. She's adorable but she is completely useless stats wise lol. Everyone has to have a weak Pokémon on their team in this tournament as part of the rules and she is mine!)

Mr Hands hits like a fucking truck IF he happens to get literally ANY physical attacking move from Metronome. The odds are pretty in his favour I find. He also has like a billion HP so he takes hits pretty well.

Dollop is from the "mid tier" pool and I'm using him (I've always used he/him for this Pokémon, he's trans I guess) ENTIRELY because he is a shiny I am VERY proud of, but he also hits pretty good when getting special attacking moves, and TAKES special attacks like a champ. He's the only member of my team who isn't extremely slow. He also has an ability that prevents any of my team getting put to sleep as long as he's on the field (this is Double Battles) which could be super clutch, you never know!

Cheshire Cat has exactly one thing to offer to the team: she has the ability Unnerve, which will prevent the opponents from eating their Leppa Berries. I'm going to count the PP used and send her out with the best possible timing to stop them so that they have to use Struggle and take recoil. Also, being Steel type means you tend to resist many of the attacks that Metronome throws up, which is her only hope for staying around for more than a couple turns because dear lord are Meowth's stats terrible 😂

Misophonia is my fucking PRIDE AND JOY. I am SO excited to see her shine. I had never even THOUGHT about Hatterene much before setting her up for this tournament and it turns out its stats are fucking great! You see, their base Attack is actually perfectly serviceable, so I did the exact opposite that one would do for a normal competitive battle and maxed out her Attack so that it's almost level with her Special Attack. In fact Misophonia's Attack is higher than Dollop's Sp. Atk and of course Miso's own Sp. Atk is considerably higher than that! Her defenses are also pretty great. Her stats are so fucking perfect for Metronome where you are going to be both dishing out and taking both physical and special attacks at complete random. AND! Her ability is Magic Bounce, so the opponent gets Thunder Wave, Toxic Spikes, anything like that from Metronome? UNO REVERSE MOTHERFUCKER! That ability is actually the sole reason why I picked Hatterene, its amazing stats are a huge pleasant surprise for me. I think Misophonia is gonna carry me to victory 💖
