I hope more people who feel they’re leftists begin to realize that genuinely hating men AND/OR immediately assuming a man (or someone you perceive as a man) you don’t know is out to harm you is t3rf behavior. This belief will not keep you safe, it’s meant to isolate you and put the marginalized men around you in danger. Hating men will not do shit to the bigoted cishet white men in power, but it’ll tell the marginalized men around you that they aren’t welcome around you. This extends to anyone who looks like cis society’s idea of a man, but isn’t actually one, too - do y’all really think trans people of ANY gender say “okay I’m x gender now” and are immediately treated like that gender by society as a whole? Do you think your fear of anyone with facial hair and a deep voice will stop at dangerous cis men, and that only dangerous cis men have those traits? And I’m specifying DANGEROUS cis men because cis men as a group aren’t inherently dangerous. The way someone looks or identifies says nothing about whether they’re “safe” or not! I thought we fucking learned this!!

Okay, it is way easier to be your authentic self on the internet with strangers so plz no judgment 👍
But I was hoping to put in a request, which is entirely up to you to do, obviously. I started my period this week and it's really the only time I feel like not myself (I don't have any of those specific gender-neutral boxers so I have to wear panties cause I use pads sorry if that's tmi) So I wanted to request a piece with Darksun comforting a non-binary reader during their period? With like the dysphoria and all that?
Sorry if this is ranty, I don't talk about my gender on here much cause it truly terrifies me but I trust you. (I've also spent the last two days crying while trying to pick out clothes for work. I'm going through it in the most first world problems way I can apparently and I feel silly for it)
Anyway! Sorry again for the rant, I'm nervous and over-explaining. Hope you have a great day!
first of all, thank you for trusting me [I hope I did this request justice, please tell me if I did not]. secondly, thanks for your patience seeing as you sent this back in July 🥺
poly!darksun x non-binary!reader who's on their period [876 words]
CW: non-sexual nudity, discussion of gendered clothing and society, body & gender-identity dysphoria, my first attempt at a non-binary reader so please let me know if I've mucked it up at all
You felt heavy; your shoulders ached, you were bloated, it took all the strength you had just to lift your legs to climb the stairs up to James’ dormitory (why did this school have so many sodding stairs!?) and your head felt like it was quickly filling with cotton as a migraine threatened to take over.
All you wanted to do was fall into James’ bed, maybe curl up in one of his quidditch jumpers, and force Barty to act as your weighted blanket for the next foreseeable future.
So by the time you’d finally made it up to James’ dorm room to hear him and Barty snickering to one another, you felt tears prick at your eyes believing that your dreams of cuddles and jumpers were all for naught.
“Hurry up, they’re going to be here any minute.” You heard Barty hiss.
“Barty, I’m moving as fast as I can but- fuckin hells, Merlin and Morgana both; no wonder they’re so tetchy right now. This is a torture device.”
“It’s not a torture device, they’re knickers.”
“They ought to be banned.” James grumbled. “How come you got the comfortable ones?”
“Green really is more my colour, James. Besides, you look great in pink.”
James let out a sigh that sounded like agreement before he groaned again. “Where’d the string go?”
You heard Barty chuckling.
“Barty, where’d the string go? Stop sodding laughing! Where’d it go?”
You slowly - cautiously - pushed the door to the dormitory open to expose both of your boyfriends standing in the middle of the room, each in a pair of your more feminine knickers and a jumper each.
“What in the actual fuck is going on right now?” You deadpanned as you let your bookbag fall from your shoulder and hit the ground with a thud.
James had the grace to look somewhat abashed, but Barty simply turned and beamed at you. “There you are, my lovely Treasure! How was your day?” He asked as if he wasn’t standing half-naked in women’s underwear.
“Terrible. Barty, what are you wearing?”
Barty looked at you like he was genuinely confused by your question. “What? This?” He said as he plucked at his Slytherin jumper. “It’s my favourite jumper.”
“Uh huh…and the panties?” You continued.
“Well, it’s not really my style to go commando under my uniform, Treasure.” He scoffed.
When it became clear you weren’t getting anywhere in this conversation with Barty, you turned your sights on James.
“What are you doing in..my knickers?” You asked, more than a tad reluctant to take ownership of an article of clothing that left you feeling horribly dysphoric.
“Well…I- we just figured, I don’t know, maybe you’d like some camaraderie?”
“Camaraderie?”
“Well, s’no fair that you have to be uncomfortable all on your own.” He mumbled awkwardly, and you felt your heart squeeze at the sentiment.
“I think they look good on us, no?” Barty asked as he gave you a spin whereas James simply crossed his legs and looked at you worriedly.
“I, erm, I don’t want to turn around. I-”
“It’s okay, Jamie.” You let out with a sigh as you made your way over to him. “You two didn’t have to do this for me.” You murmured into James’ jumper where he had you cradled against his chest.
“We know that; of course we know we didn’t have to do this for you.” Barty agreed readily. “But you’re our sweetheart, and we love doing things for you.”
“We hate that you don’t feel like your best self when you get your period.”
You grumbled as you rubbed your face into James’ chest as if you could physically burrow your way into his sternum. “I don’t think anyone feels like their best self when they get their period.” You argued.
Barty let out a noncommittal hum as you heard him shuffling behind you. “No, but we understand that it causes you some extra hurt, Tres.”
At Barty’s soft tone, you turned to see him pulling back the sheets of James’ bed and holding one of James quidditch jumpers - no, your favourite of James’ quidditch jumpers - though he paused when he saw your face emerge from James’ chest and shot you a sympathetic smile.
“I know…it’s different, and I know that this isn’t really what it’s about, but…us stepping into ‘feminine’ underwear doesn’t make either of us any less of a boy.” James started slowly. “In the same way that putting them on doesn’t make you any more of a girl.”
“Society might say otherwise, but knickers aren’t boys or girls…they’re just cotton.” Barty added, and you couldn’t help but huff a laugh at that.
“Speak for yourself, Barty…” James grumbled as he shifted awkwardly. “Pretty sure mine are made out of devil’s snare; I still don’t know where that string has gone.”
“I love you, both of you.” You blurted; James tightening his hold on you and Barty making a sweet cooing sound from behind you.
“We love you too, angel.”
“It’s true, I never went through this much trouble to help Reg feel better about his periods.” Barty added solemnly as he plopped down on James’ bed and patted the mattress. “Now come on, I plan to rot in this bed alongside you for the next foreseeable future.”

on dragona
i managed to track down some pictures of the jojolands raws, and specifically one of the pages where jodio talks about dragona. i think ultimately we’ll have to wait for more to get a real read on his gender identity and presentation, but i wanted to see what the original japanese was and what it said for myself
Tumblr media
here is where jodio is talking about how his mom can live a peaceful life because of what he and dragona do. in the first bubble he starts with “オレたち兄弟” (oretachi kyoudai). the key word here is 兄弟, which just means sibling(s). so he says “we siblings” (or, given context, could also be “we brothers”). regardless, this phrase is gender neutral
in the second one, he says “オレと兄” (ore to ani). this is why i’m choosing to use he/him for dragona as of now, because 兄 means big brother, and as far as i know, nothing else. i’d translate this as “me and my brother” (or if we’re trying to be grammatically correct, “my brother and i”)
Tumblr media
in this bubble, jodio again says “兄”, which, if you look up in a dictionary, only translates to older/elder/big brother.
i think you could’ve argued otherwise if jodio had called dragona 兄貴 (aniki) because that once can be a little more ambiguous in terms of familial relationship and gender, but just 兄 alone reads to me like dragona is jodio’s older brother. i also don’t really think that jodio is purposely misgendering dragona.
given what we know so far about the characters, i think there’s enough evidence to say that dragona identifies as a boy, but enjoys presenting feminine. so i’m going to be using he/him for dragona unless something contradicts that in later chapters

໑ৎ♡ Get To Know The Account And The Creator ♡໑ৎ
llııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllı♡ıllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııll
໑ৎ♡ About The Account ♡໑ৎ
This is an account for Neurodivergent Reality Shifters to send in asks specifically about what Neurodivergent Shifting Culture is to them, how they experience it, an example of it, and other similar topics to those things.
So, you would say: “Neurodivergent Shifting Culture is ____”
If anyone has any questions on what is allowed to be sent in, just leave a comment or send an ask to begin with, and I’ll let you know. <3
The list of regular anons will be here: 🔮🦐
Before you follow, interact, or send in asks, know that permashifters, respawners, and those who shift to a reality where they’re a different race or age (as long as you aren’t doing it for p3dophilic reasons, or visa versus) are very welcome on this page.
llııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllı♡ıllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııll
໑ৎ♡ About The Creator ♡໑ৎ
I’m Rhysand (pronounced Reese-Sund), also known as Rhys (pronounced Reese). I’m a Neurodivergent, Queer, and Nonhuman Reality Shifter.
Neurodivergent Identity:
I’m undiagnosed AuDHD (Autism + ADHD), APD (Auditory Processing Disorder), SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder), ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), and Pure O OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), medically recognized PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder), and diagnosed MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) and GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I’m also undiagnosed PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) and/or PME (Premenstrual Exacerbation).
I also have a few other undiagnosed things, like BDD (Body Dysmorphic Disorder), Misophonia, Excoriation Disorder, and Trichotillomania. Those are things that just come along with my “main” mental illnesses and neurodivergencies.
I don’t yet have the confidence to say that I’m disabled (because I don’t wish to intrude on that community or mislabel myself), but I probably am, due to my severe daily executive dysfunction and a few other things.
I have special interests in Wings Of Fire, Harry Potter, Dragons in general, and Neurodivergency.
I have no current hyperfixations, and I’m incredibly low on dopamine.
Tone tags are very appreciated when talking to me, so please use them! If you aren’t sure how, just ask and I will let you know! <3
Shifting Things:
I first found shifting in 2020 or 2021 on Tiktok, and as soon as I heard about it, I did my own research on it. I started trying to shift often, even with my lack of knowledge on the subject and my poor mindset. I originally wanted to permashift and/or respawn, but after I realized just how much it was effecting me mentally, I took a major break from it for about 3 or 4 years, only trying to shift occasionally.
I found shiftblr in early 2024, and my shifting knowledge increased, my mindset improved, and my motivation was renewed.
I’ve shifted once to a parallel reality, where I relived/redid a day.
I’m considering permashifting to my Better CR DR, but I have way too many DRs, so we’ll see how that goes.
Queer Identity:
I’m very queer in the gender, NOT a girl or under the womanhood category, and I use He/They pronouns + any/all neopronouns, nounself pronouns, xenopronouns, and emojiself pronouns.
My most preferred pronouns are He/Him, It/Its, Xe/Xym, Ze/Zym, Ne/Nim, Ne/Nym, /🌙’s/🌙self, Moon/Moonself, Bug/Bugself, Bee/Beeself, and honestly a lot more. Go haywire, as long as it’s not She/Her, you’re all good.
I’m AroAce, Aromantic and Myrsexual (Neuroasexual, Nebulasexual, Requiesexual, Rosesexual, Merosexual, Placiosexual, Falsaesthsexual, Acorsexual, Apothisexual, Bellussexual, and Dreadsexual), and I’m Homoalterous, Omniqueerplatonic, Panexteramo, Pansensual, and Panaesthetic.
I’m a Lesboy and T4T-leaning.
I’m Ambiamorous and have no preference.
Please use masculine, neutral, creature, fey, dragon, wolf, and thing terms when referring to me.
Nonhuman Identity:
I’m a Polytherian, Otherkin, Otherlink, Otherfix, Otherhearted, and Fictionflicker. I fluctuate between Nonhuman and Human, sometimes one is stronger than the other one and visa versus, but always on some level both, but I mainly just say I’m nonhuman. I’m Transspecies and Voidpunk. I’ve only been awakened for a few months.
My theriotypes are Vancouver Coastal Sea Wolf, Red Fox, Nurse Shark, Snow Leopard, Norwegian Forest Cat, and Canada Lynx.
My kintypes are fictionkin (Dark Fey, Forest Type, from the Maleficent movies), dragonkin (SeaWing/SilkWing hybrid), dragonkin (Night-Light Fury Hybrid) and Raccoonkin.
My linktypes are Owl (Snowy or Barn) and Sable.
I’ve been Fictionflicker for Hylian and one of my OC species (Orphinki).
I have a Whale Shark Hearttype.
My Other Accounts:
@rhysandshiftingthespectrum - My account for Neurodivergent Shifters and my new main shifting account and main account overall
@toomuchdivergentformyneuro - My account for my Neurodivergency, Special Interests, and Hyperfixations
Other:
I’m taken by my lovely boyfriend ( @thesunnishboy ) and I’m not looking for any more partners.
I’m celiac, have a dairy intolerance, have pollen allergies, and a dust allergy, plus probably allergic to other shit, so woo for me. (Sarcasm.)
I’m a minor (16).
I’m Agnostic, a bit spiritual, and I’m very respectful of others’ religions.
I have one sibling (She/Her), and she has two accounts on here, although she isn’t that active.
I stand with Palestine.
I love answering asks of any and all kinds, so never be afraid to ask, you are not bothering me or being annoying or too much. <3
I’m pro non-offending p@raph!les and etc., who are in recovery/getting help.
I’m pro endogenic systems, mixed origin systems, non-traumagenic systems, etc.
llııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllı♡ıllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııllııll
໑ৎ♡ DNI List ♡໑ৎ
Any queerphobes (including those against intersex, mspec lesbians and gays, lesboys, turigirls, gaybians, etc., just basically any contradictory label, radqueers, TERFs, and SWERFs), racists, sexists, proshippers, those who sexualize age-regressors and pet-regressors, ableists (including those who demonize personality disorders), those against physical alterhumans, those against furries, offending MAPs and P@raph!les + supporters, pro-ED, pro-SH, pro-SI, those who romanticize any sort of mental illness, neurodivergency, and/or disability, anti-shifters, those against permashifters, respawners, and race-changers, those against endogenic/non-traumagenic/etc. or mixed origins or unknown origins systems, those against Palestine, those who’s blogs are Christian or God/Jesus Christ themed heavy (nothing against y’all, just have trauma with it), those who directly send NSFW stuff towards me, those who can’t respect boundaries, JK Rowling supporters, and just about anybody else that makes me uncomfortable. Hiiii. I hope ur ok with my just constantly being like *ahem* spencer reid 👉🏻👈🏻🥹🥹. I loved how you wrote him in the last request! I feel like a lot of the time, people write him very ooc - just bc he can be hard to get written the right way, but like that's my boy, look at him spitting random facts for HOURS 🥰🥰?? Like yes, pls info dump on me while I stare at u lovingly, Spence 💞.
I recently came to terms with being ftm, but it's almost impossible to find any male! reader x Spencer Reid content. Which can be very dysphoric 😵‍💫. Which sucks! Bc holy hell, there are some fuckinnn amazing writers out there writing fanfics.
So now, I have come to you, an amazing writer out here writing fanfics, to beg ask if ud be down to write any kind of oneshot with Spencer Reid dating a male reader! It honestly doesn't have to be anything specific - romantic, angsty, enemies to lovers, slow burn, whatever peaks ur interest atm!
I would just love, love to have that content with Spence & a male reader if you're down for the task! Thank you so so muchh 💓. Hope ur having a wonderful morning / afternoon / evening !
A/N:im sorry this took so long!! I’ve been busy working (blegh) and I wanted to write something sweet for you!! I’m happy you’ve come to terms with being ftm!! As a cis identifying person myself I can’t say that I know how it feels, but I am VERY happy that you’re more comfortable with your identity!! Also never worry about being too “crazy” over Spencer I’ve been obsessed with him since I was about 5 or 6 (yes it’s been a long time)!! I’ll try more to write in a more gender neutral way when writing anything reader insert related that way you can enjoy my writing without feeling left out or anything!! Always let me know if there are things I can do better <3
Tw: maybe some cursing but overall should be wholesome
Wc: 0.54k
Criminal Minds Masterlist
Spencer Reid often came home dejected after a case gone wrong, it was often that he came home tired but happy after a successful case. It wasn’t often, however, that he came home excited for a break; but then again he hadn’t had a boyfriend to come home to on previous breaks. Now, as you watch him walk through the front door of your shared apartment, you can’t help but grin at the absolutely goofy look on his face.
“Emily gave us all 4 weeks off to rest after our latest case, so that means I get four WHOLE weeks of you to myself! Isn’t that great?” He lets out a giggle after he finishes speaking, putting his bag down on the kitchen counter. You didn’t even have to ask him why he was so giddy, he answered unprompted.
“It is great!” You try to match his energy, only seeing him this excited for the first time since you’ve met. He brings you into his embrace, hugging you so tightly that you think you might die if he squeezed you any tighter. “So what are your plans now that you’re a free man for four whole weeks?”
“Well we could go to the park and play chess, or stay here and play chess but I think the sunlight would be good for both of us. Or we could go to the movies, or take a class together, or…”
“Your plans are to just have dates with me every single day?” You ask, quirking an eyebrow.
He nods as if the answer is the most obvious, concrete fact in the universe. He looks at you, not as if you’re dumb, but as if to say ‘duh what else would I be planning to do?’.
The two of you move to sit on the couch, enveloped in each other as he talks about the many, many dates you’re going to go on now that he’s free from his time constricting job. “What if I don’t wanna do those things?” You ask playfully. He shrugs.
“It doesn’t matter what we do, as long as I get to do it with you”.
“Oh?” You look at him as if he said something scandalous, “I didn’t know you had that big of a crush on me.”
He shoves you gently, rolling his eyes at your attempt to joke off his sweet words.
“You’re joking but studies have found that couples who have regular date nights more often result in higher relationship satisfaction, better communication, and a stronger emotional connection. Us going on dates during these four weeks will be better for us in the long run.”
You don’t reply, or interrupt. It’s always amusing to listen to him ramble on and on about facts that he finds interesting or applicable to the conversation. And all it does is make you fall more in love with him, seeing how serious he is about your relationship working out in the future. He says that he loves you often, but it’s things like this; seeing and listening to how much he genuinely cares about your relationship.
Being the boyfriend of a pretty boy genius has its perks, and how much he cares about you compared to others is definitely one of them.

Naga culture and customs for oc worldbuilding!
Decided to compile some things for any past or future Ksho fics!! Not all of these are identical to snake behaviour 🫵 don’t freak your pets out/j
Long post!!
Ksho typically stands between 6’5 and 7’. He adjusts his height depending on who he’s talking to. However, he always adjusts himself to be taller than whoever he’s looking at. This isn’t out of intimidation! Naga have poor eyesight, and it’s an old tradition to stand above who you’re talking to to cast a shadow on their face and see it better! Disrespect would be shown through standing above someone but not tilting the head down, and instead looking down their nose or tilting the head up and glaring down. You can have casual conversation laying or sitting though.
Naga houses are well decorated on the outside! The walls are adorned with colourful feathers, plants and murals. Once again, poor vision. If the buildings blend in with the trees, people walk into them.
Kissing isn’t often done. Especially on the head. Think about what a mouth on the head would mean to a snake. Very rude. A forehead bump is an affectionate alternative. Kisses, though rare, are normally planted on the shoulder.
Dancing is common! In the original Jungle Book novel, Kaa hypnotises prey through dance, not his eyes. It’s a reference to that.
The transition from infant->toddler->child is quicker in Nagas. It’s common to see little kids out alone with no adult supervision. They’re fine 👍
Surprisingly touchy! It’s commented on that Ksho is surprisingly comfortable resting against his parents could for someone of ‘his age’.
Another greeting- tongue flicking. It might feel weird if you’re not part snake, but it’s just so they can commit your scent to memory. It can range from something you do without thinking for someone you just met, to something vastly more intimate between friends, family or partners. Depends on how up close and personal you’re getting. Tongue in general vicinity/face: hey dude nice to meet you. Tongue out while cuddling, in neck or right up against skin: this dude likes you and wants to be able to pick you out in a crowd.
Aggression is similar to that of snakes. A huff (similar to a hiss, but smaller and quieter. A little squeaky puff of air): annoyance, could also be curiosity, could also be panic. A hiss (huge exhale. Lot of air coming out of a small hole. Spooky noise): actually anger, back off before you get bit. Tail wags: aggression again. Back off.
Zero waste community. Similar to the Na’vi in Avatar, every part of an animal gets put to use. The leader of Ksho’s village wears false wyvern wing ear cuffs, and Ksho has a bracelet made of crocodile teeth.
Very gender neutral. In an ask, I refer to some Naga kids by ‘they’ only. This is the complete standard for them. (Their language is also gender neutral, but still) Post hatching, you can’t really tell what sex a baby is. So all names in Serpentine are gender neutral!
Clothing is seen more as an accessory than something to cover you. They’re reptiles. Nothing on that torso to cover or support.
Body standards are different. Everyone has stretch marks. Everyone has fluctuating hip size. Also, python specific, but big=tough. In the book, Kaa takes any comments on his weight as a compliment. (At the end of book three, Ksho doesn’t actually get what’s embarrassing about the photo. Loads of people look like that.)
Shedding. Very personal. A vulnerable time. Very close people may allow each other to assist in removing shed skin from the scalp. Assisting in shedding is a close and intimate act. Ksho is pre-shed when first properly introduced and comes across as shy and sensitive.
Post shedding? Dude I look awesome. Common to compliment each other post-shed.
Sleeping. When you’re tired, you sleep. Even if you had work to do. Ksho had quite the culture shock because of this. Wdym it’s lazy to sleep first and do homework later? Surely my work will be better when I’m well rested?
Eating cycles. Be respectful of these. Just after eating=sleepy. Go away. Also very vulnerable. If you’re close, you may be allowed to hang out post-meal, though.
Don’t be shocked by the views on minor injuries. Broken ribs are as common as broken toes.
A lot of the body is not to be touched. Stomach? We’re not friends. Head? Don’t threaten me. Tail? That’s very not allowed. Consent is key. Don’t get yourself crushed in self defence.
Fight or flight is STRONG. No sneaking up on people.
Waving is best when making it very obvious. I can see best when you’re moving. Another thing to catch attention is vibrations. Hit the ground then beckon.
Serpentine sign language is a combination of tactile sign language and visual. The visual signs are wider and more obvious.
Common to bathe in groups. There’s a lot of you to wash and dry. Ksho doesn’t visit Pomefiore because he has to wipe his whole body before entering.
Kids are taught early to watch their strength.
Infant-> hatchling. Toddler/child-> snakelet.
I may rb with a part two should more ideas strike!!!

Hey! I really like your blog, and always really enjoy learning more about some of the interesting topics you cover! I was wondering if you have an opinion on people wanting to identify specifically using a lower case spelling of their name, instead of capitalizing the proper noun. This isnt for me, and I'm definitely not looking for a "right or wrong" answer, just genuinely wanted to hear your take on it.
Before I answer I don’t think there’s a single answer or reason why people choose to not capitalise their names. I’m not privy to larger discussions of why people might do this (bell hooks is probably the most famous example), but I’m friends with someone who has chosen not to capitalise her name and it’s made me think about the practice a lot!
I think the first place to start is that a lower case name is meant to be read - you do not pronounce lower capitalisation. this gives context to how and where you encounter a lower capitalised name. They may appear on your legal documents, of course, but also through authorship, online profiles, print media, etc. is there a particular audience or social context that you want to confront with your un-capitalised name?
I use the word confront deliberately, because lower case names challenge people - I don’t think we would be talking about it if it didn’t, but the obvious question is why. My instinct is that it is an attempt to de-centre the individual, and this is what people are reacting to. We do not capitalise pronouns, for example, because they are interchangeable amongst many people - gendered pronouns are used as a standard way to refer to people because the assumption underlying them is that gender is the most important (and only) consideration when referring to someone by something other than their name. Pronouns are not neutral, they are a deeply contested and politically animating part of everyday language. In a similar way, I think choosing not to capitalise your name could be a gesture towards this interchangeability and the contested nature of gendered referral, to emphasise that you are not an individual but a subject within a set of social and political circumstances. A name is a summary of yourself - your deeds, your personality, your art, your beliefs, and so on. It’s why we call it Marxism, it’s why people refer to “Reaganomics,” “the Kubrick stare,” etc - there is a discursive process happening by summarising particular beliefs or actions in the world by a person’s name. Refusing to capitalise your name can be a resistance to this automatic and unremarked upon process of summary, to prompt people to ask why this is the way we do things (as opposed to referring to the effects these actions or beliefs have on the world, their content, their technique, or whatever else - why is the individual given primacy when naming ideologies, policy regimes, and artistic practices when these are all products of historical, political, and social processes far larger than any one person? Did these men make these histories, or are they only the figureheads, and if so, why?)
It also calls attention to the fact that capitalisation is also a choice - one of the first things I thought about when my friend stopped capitalising her name was why I was still choosing to capitalise mine. What conventions am I holding onto, and are they actually important to me? What is it about my name that requires this kind of sacred or authoritative treatment? I refuse to capitalise the word god primarily because I refuse to imbue the word with any sort of authority or respect - what authority would I be resisting or giving up if I were to refuse to capitalise my own name? Is there a kind of self-disrespect happening, or am I disrespecting the linguistic and grammatical conventions where capitalised names arise and are considered normal? What parts of myself and my identity are removed or revealed by refusing to capitalise my name? If something so normal and mundane may be contested in a similarly mundane way, what other linguistic possibilities open up to us?
My familiarity with this practice is one that is deliberately political, in the sense that the uncapitalised name reveals something that is normally hidden - these could be linguistic conventions, societal norms, ideas about individuality, and so on. I think the practice is very cool and prompts a lot of productive discomfort with everyday linguistic and social practices. It also pisses off conservatives and I think that alone is evidence that this is a practice worth pursuing, that this decision is actually not trivial at all and reveals a larger network of political and social ideas about personhood

Introduction to Mlmshark
Tumblr media
Info:
Oliver, 17 yrs, trans male, gay/vincian, taken <3
This is my account where I ramble about being gay and talk about my experiences as a queer man
DMs are open, I’d love to chat
And now because apparently I have to add this:
‼️PROSHIP AND RADQUEER DNI‼️
This isn't an nsfw account, but it is 17+ so I can be more mature without worrying about younger followers like I have on my other accounts
Fanfic acc: @sharkboywrites (dead) art acc @sharkboyoli
I will give out my discord, but only to mutuals who ask
more info below, including boundaries please read before sending messages
Tumblr media
This is an mlm blog
The labels I use/are comfortable with are trans man, transmasc, gay, vincian, achillean, aroace, aromantic, greyromantic (more specific way of describing my romantic attraction) and asexual
I am autistic (maybe, I got tested and my results were inconclusive so I’m not sure what to make of that). My special interests are genshin impact and horror media (please talk to me about them PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE)
My pronouns are strictly he/him, but I'm not sure about neos, feel free to use them on me it doesn't bother me
Anyone can interact regardless of sexuality or gender identity, I prefer the people who are my mutuals to be 17+, but younger people can like my posts and ask me questions. I won't follow back anyone under 17.
The main point of this account is to have somewhere to talk about being gay and find more gay people to have a community with it.
For a long time and even sometimes to this day I've been shamed for my identity, so I want my own space to be an openly gay trans man with no hate and find other people in my community. I'm also still exploring myself and the world as a trans man, despite being out for six years, and this is my space to talk about it.
Tumblr media
Boundaries
No proshippers, radqueers, zoophiles, etc.
No racism or ablesim, this is a space for all gay men/nblm regardless
My mutuals need to be 17 or older, I may be more mature at times, but not to the point of full nsfw
Do not send me nsfw asks unless they're questions about the queer experience ( for ex. asking about my experience, how to know, about my asexuality, and life as a gay/trans man are fine)
Don't send me/tag me in nsfw posts
Don't try to be homophobic or transphobic, I'll just block you
No shaming me or other people for liking men, even if you're also queer
Don't come onto my posts complaining about how you hate men
Don't try to compare my experiences with other queer people/try to make it the oppression Olympics
Don't complain to me about gay labels or flags
Don't try to invalidate anyone who interacts with this account that identifies as gay, even if you think they don't count (transmasc gay, tranfem gay, genderfluid gay, etc.)
Generally don't bring any discourse
You're free to vent in my asks if it's related to being gay or transgender, this account is for people to find community, just try not to make people uncomfortable
Don't call me the f or t slur unless you know I'm okay with it, even when I call myself it
As you can tell, this is mostly an nsfw neutral account, I'm okay with talking about it in the non- horny sense or now. this acc may be more open to it as time goes on (probably as I get older and experience more things), but for now: no <3
That's it, feel free to interact, i'd love to find some gay people in the community that I can ramble with and be a man kisser with :)

I also want to say this as a transmasculine nonbinary person that I’ve seen a LOT of trans men be uncomfortable with the term being universalised to include them. Transmasculine started out as a nonbinary label (I think, I could be mixed up) that described enben who were transitioning to a more masculine point instead of a neutral one. Obviously trans men can use transmasculine if they feel like it fits, but still I think it’s best to not just lump us together with the label because there are so many trans men who aren’t comfortable with it (I’ve actually seen a lot of people saying that it straight up makes them dysphoric because they take it as being seen as less of a man)
Same goes for non-transmasculine afab nonbinary people— there’s actually a lot of people calling to just get rid of the terms because they see it as just an indicator of agab. I’ve actually encountered more transneutral afab enben who hate being called transmasculine than I have trans men who hate it. It makes sense, the entire point for transneutral enben is transitioning to some sort of complete middle, or outside of gender alltogether, and aligning them with a specific gender is not only just incorrect but also very uncomfortable and dysphoria inducing for a lot of them. A lot of people also really don’t like the idea of t being ‘transmasculine transition’, which I totally get because I feel the same way when someone says that t is inherently ‘male transition’
(btw this is all stuff I’ve heard from these groups, I’m not just saying what I think goes through their heads or anything)
On a personal note, I also don’t like the universalisation of it because it feels like aligned enben can’t really have a term to describe ourselves— like, being a transmasc or transfem nonbinary person is a very complicated experience, most of us really struggle with this sort of balancing act of androgyny and maleness/femaleness, we’re like an in-beteeen of an in-between and it’s really fucking hard to deal with. It would just be nice if we could have our own label and space to discuss it and help each other with it. But I also get that now a lot of trans men resonate with the term and it would very much be a dick move to just say ‘nope, you can’t use this anymore, fuck you lol’, like, no
idk, I think about this a lot and the topic comes up quite frequently so I have a lot to say on it, but I can’t exactly articulate it, so I hope this made sense sorry
if anyone has sources to show otherwise i'd be happy to see them but i've always been under the impression that "transmasc(uline)" and "transfem(inine)" were umbrella terms first and foremost, with origins in the world of medical transitioning, particularly HRT, that sought specifically to include non-binary people and therefore not imply that everyone going through [medical] masculinization or feminization necessarily identifies as a man or a woman. whether the end goal is conceptualized by the individual as a masc/fem role, it's just a matter of having useful, succinct language to describe shared experience. i really don't see it as denoting agab any more than the term "trans man/woman" does. like if you really are not comfortable denoting your agab at all, it sounds like you're not comfortable talking about being trans period.
as for the binary trans men who hate it i'm gonna be real, i cannot comprehend being mad about someone using an umbrella term simply to address you and others who have significant things in common with you in one breath. i'm a binary trans man and i won't lie, i have had my phase of whining about being "lumped in with non binary people," but like... that's what it was. it was a phase that i'm over because i've grown up and now realize that it doesn't actually dilute my identity to simply have things in common with other people. it would be like a square being mad about being called a rectangle because "you're erasing the fact that i am SPECIFICALLY a square!" literally no, no one is erasing anything. especially not in the context of a poll that's just trying to not draw really arbitrary lines, and which you also literally don't have to answer.
i think it's completely valid to be made dysphoric or uncomfortable by any terminology, but there's a point at which you kind of have to accept that that is a you thing? if a term's literal function is to be inclusive and you feel excluded somehow bc you don't like that you're not being acknowledged as fundamentally different than the others who that term applies to... like i'm sorry, that's kind of ridiculous. you have to accept that it's ridiculous and not anyone else's problem.
also i truly think that if it's coming to contentions such as "just because i'm a man doesn't mean i'm masculine" or ppl otherwise trying to draw hard lines between masc and man/male as definitions... i truly think you are just trying to make this more complicated than it is. like we do need words to describe things, lol.
in any case my thing - at least on this blog - is always gonna be in the context of making polls. firstly i'm working with a character and option limit. secondly, the questions being asked make it sometimes relevant to use some terms that lump groups together, denote agab, etc. the more i think about it, i don't think there's going to be a solution that satisfies everyone, and i also don't think that there's a huge problem with that.
(btw none of this is directed at anon, you articulated yourself fine, i'm just jumping off of your talking points)
edit: irt anon not liking the universalization of "transmasc" - it just occurred to me, would "transmasc nonbinary" not simply work? like it seems to me that you just need to add the word nonbinary and now you're gucci

I enjoy all your posts, but why do you ignore that Harry suggests he also dates men? And he wouldn't say he was unlabelled probably if he didn't.
As you say Harry has not labeled himself so I’m certainly not going to do it for him.
I’ve included men he’s been shipped with when seen together in my timeline like women, (though note he’s worked with most), use gender neutral pronouns talking about songs (unless the song doesn’t), posted about ‘isn’t it all sparkly bi music’ and the lyrics of Medicine. If there’s something you think I should have posted let me know.
On ‘a straight man wouldn’t be unlabelled’ I disagree. A homophobic man wouldn’t, but a man who values privacy over tits may, especially given how identity has played into his career. I’m specifically not saying I think Harry is gay, straight, bi or ace, I think he doesn’t want to be thought of as any by strangers and I’m comfortable with that ambiguity. When this comes up I think about this Rolling Stone interview:
Behind the effervescent stage persona, there is more lore than fact. He likes it that way. “With an artist like Prince,” he says, “all you wanted to do was know more. And that mystery – it’s why those people are so magical! Like, fuck, I don’t know what Prince eats for breakfast. That mystery  …  it’s just what I like.” Styles pauses, savoring the idea of the unknown. He looks at my digital recorder like a barely invited guest. “More than ‘do you keep a mystery alive?’ – it’s not that. I like to separate my personal life and work. It helps, I think, for me to compartmentalize. It’s not about trying to make my career longer, like I’m trying to be this ‘mysterious character,’ because I’m not.”
Granted Prince was of another time, but that particular question went unanswered throughout a time it was more pressing and eventually more accepted than earlier in Princes career and in that sense he was visionary. The title of this is horrid, but it’s a book except I found interesting:

evil is arbitrary, or, i’m begging you all to be normal about hyde (and queerness)
so like. does anyone else think it’s weird when people conflate hyde’s actual evil with hypotheticals about his gender identity/presentation? here’s a post about that.
cw for discussion of general queerophobia and specifically transmisogny
to contextualize this post going forward, i'm going to lay down this principle: that what we consider evil is totally arbitrary.
"evil" is a concept, and like all concepts, we made it up, both as a society and as individuals. there are some things that basically everyone (individuals and society) can agree and have agreed, across time and culture, are objectively evil, like straight up murder. there are other things, however, that are morally neutral, or even good that have been deemed as "evil/morally wrong" within certain societies (which shape individuals), like queerness.
following so far? excellent.
there are two aspects to what i am reluctant to call hyde's "evil" considering the above, but keep in mind this idea of evil is filtered through two lenses: the individual (jekyll) and the society (victorian england). the two aspects are the canon/textual and the subtextual.
the canon is what we directly see on the page, and what we see on the page amounts mostly to two things: hyde's violence and cruelty towards others. when it comes down to explicit, textual evidence of hyde's evil, those are the examples we can pull from. these are also things that can, pretty objectively by many individuals and society, be considered evil. murder is bad. not really inventing the wheel here.
the subtextual is, obviously, very different. technically, it doesn't exist. the subtextual nature of hyde's "evil" is going to be different for everyone because it's what we think exists underneath the actual canon. based on textual evidence, we build a subtext that explains or expands on themes, characterization, messaging, etc. based on canon evidence in the novella, many people read in a degree of queer subtext, regarding both jekyll/hyde's gender and sexuality. jekyll is some kind of queer and has repressed that due to the heavy stigma and bigotry present during the time, and this emerges in hyde along with his other "base urges." but that doesn't actually exist in the text, it's just one reading that you can have.
hyde does some things in canon that are objectively evil (violence and cruelty) and could have done some things if you read the subtext a certain way that were arbitrarily evil, based on jekyll and the society that molded him (queerness).
so why do modern readers, modern queer readers treat these things as equally evil?
honestly? fucked if i know. but i have some theories.
this problem may be the opposite of the "sir danvers problem," which i've talked about before. while that comes from people woobifying hyde and wanting to remove any ill intent from his canon, objective evil, i think this problem comes from people wanting to put ill intent into his subtextual, arbitrary evil. with this, people lump in hyde's subtextual, arbitrary evil, specifically this reading of queerness, with his canon, objective evil and judge them as equally bad. which is just fucking not true!!!! i don't care how tired you are of people calling hyde a poor little little meow, it's a weird, poorly analyzed take.
if we take that reading of queer subtext, we can understand why jekyll and victorian society would conflate these things as equally evil, but as modern readers we don't have to. and we shouldn't! we should understand the nuance between which of jekyll/hyde's behaviours are actually evil, and which are only treated as evil. to imply that these, (again, because they're based on subtext) hypotheticals of hyde getting it on with other guys, or not adhering to binary standards of masculinity is just as bad as him killing a man in cold blood is gross, plain and simple.
it's especially sinister since i see this most often paired with the idea that hyde is in some way gnc. he's a drag queen, or a cross-dresser, or just more effeminate than jekyll, and that is supposed to make him more evil or just generally more "unpleasant." that's some straight up alfred hitchcock's psycho level transmisogny. if you want to make hyde any of those things, it should to be to question what "evil" means, who or what decides what evil is, and whether or not that is a correct judgement to make. (hint: it's not. gnc men/transfem ppl are not inherently evil. jesus.)
tldr; there's a lot going on. evil is arbitrary. some things are pretty objectively evil and hyde does those in canon, and some things are not and hyde could have done those in subtext. treating them as equally bad is weird. have all the queer readings of the text you want, just maybe interrogate why you're making those readings and how you pair them with the actual text.

⭐️ i would love to hear any director’s commentary about point of pride!
Okay, I got this and my mind proceeded to go COMPLETELY BLANK of anything to talk about. So since this one is more general about the AU, I’m going to talk about the Aulendi.
I often tell people that if I could be anything in the world, I would want to be a Ñoldor elf, despite the murder. This is because I love making stuff, and really love how significant it is to their culture and identity. (and problems. I must not forget the problems.) So the majority of the Aulendi either a) do things I really want to do, or b) do things I have at least a little experience with. Which is why I love writing them, and loved building out their world.
Taarwen is (I think) the first one that I wrote in, and I sort of made her and that scene out of a combination of things, including: my dislike of fast fashion as an institution, my love of the Gender Neutral Skirt ™ (seriously, so many people wore ‘skirts’ for so much of history. They are SO much easier than pants), and my conviction that making proper clothing takes a whole lot of time and effort.
(You may notice that Findaráto still doesn’t have the custom outfits. Because it takes time to craft something Really Really Nice, and immortal elves who are also devotees of the god of craft most definitely take the time to Do Things Right.
That said, it IS coming up!)
And the other significant ones we’ve seen are Meryanilda and Tiquwen. My experience with harps is definitely on the ‘making’ rather than the ‘playing’ side, but I’m still very new to making them, and have only dabbled. Still, I enjoyed getting to feature them and the sort of interplay between their craft, practiced by the Aulendi, and someone like Makalaurë, who has a competitive AND collaborative desire to work around and with the masters of HIS craft. Which is practiced to less of an institutional degree among the Aulendi.
When I started planning this story and universe, I started from the threesome and worked outward. What safe place could Findaráto find? What made Fëanáro’s family different from the other Ñoldor to such a degree that they had completely separate gender roles and social culture?
…It had to be craft. The fact that there is a culture in which craft is important and respected is still very different from a culture of craftspeople. Historically speaking, however much craftspeople were respected (or not) they were not a ruling class. Ruling classes are generally politicians, by birthright or (more rarely) election, religious leaders, and economic ones. Similarly, in my reading experience, I see few examples of actual craftspeople among the royal Ñoldor. The specific examples are Míriel (dead), Fëanáro (…complicated), Mahtan (among Aule’s folk, not Tirion, not royal), Nerdanel (same as Mahtan, don’t know if/how she fit into the court, but my guess is no), and Curufinwë II and III.
Most of the next generation comes into their own in Beleriand. They’re politicians, rulers, warriors, generals. They build things, yes, like cities (Turgon and Finrod), ships (Eärendil, with clear Telerin influence from Círdan), and Maeglin (half-Sindar, specifically learned smithing from his Sindarin father and not his Ñoldorin mother). There are a few other notable smiths, but still. Not directly in or from the ruling line, save Curufinwës 1-3.
(I'm not saying they aren't a culture of crafters, I'm just saying for the purposes of this story, I engineered a split working off of a potential subdivision in canon. Also, a culture is more than just the ruling line, that's only where we tend to focus because those are the significant and named figures in canon)
So that’s kind of where the split came from, in Point of Pride. The Ñoldor respect craft, and it is what their culture is known for, but most of the people who specifically devote themselves to it as a calling can be found in Aulë’s lands, which I feel has at least a little canonical justification. Even if they wouldn’t see themselves as priests, disseminating the work and ideas formed in his forges to the broader Ñoldorin culture at large is kind of the role they play in this story. And because of the physical and social distance, they had the room to develop in a drastically different way (as much as the two-way unawareness might be a bit unrealistic). I like the idea that the farther one gets from a strict social ‘court’ and the closer one gets to a sort of egalitarian unification of ideals and purpose in proximity to a literal deity, the more protected one gets from strict social consequences. And the less close someone is likely to look. Like nuns, who were allowed/required to eschew the social requirement of marriage for religious purposes (not an expert, don’t quote me on that). I’m not saying the Aulendi are religious figures to that sort of strict level, but by opting into the inner circle of a Vala, they are effectively opting out of the monarchy and the social structure of the Ñoldor, knowingly or not.
(Yes, this will cause problems later.)
Well, that was probably way too much!! Thank you for the chance to (over) explain some thoughts I had! I hope you enjoy reading this excessive wall of text, and thank you for the ask!

Any other headcanons you wanna talk about? For Ford or others? I’m always free to listen!
hi sorry this took a while, i was trying to figure out which headcanons i wanted to talk about here- thank you for the asks! :D
i have yet to post any queer headcanons for the pines family and im still excited about ford using it/its pronouns, so here you go!
mabel - i headcanon her to be panromantic and aspec. maybe demisexual? havent quite decided yet. she's also transfeminine and xenogender. xenogenders. she cannot be contained in just one. also a neopronoun user- she/they and a bunch of nounpronouns. she collects them like pokemon cards.
dipper - had to think on this one a bit (ive seen two different headcanons for him that i really love). i headcanon that he's biromantic arospec and bisexual (possibly aspec? still not completely sure.) he's transmasculine! i think he'd tell people his pronouns are he/him, but he wouldn't mind people using they/them or neopronouns for him
stan - bisexual biromantic for sure. also somewhere on the aromantic and asexual spectrums, im just not entirely sure where exactly he'd fall. he doesnt know either. he's trans, and he's not sure if he's transmale or transmasc. he doesnt really care about finding out. he/him but he's fine with they/them too.
and i saved ford for last because i wanted to say- there's actually a specific reason i headcanon all these things about his identity. which is that i saw other people talking about him with these things in mind and went "oh shit thats me isnt it".
moral of the story- the below headcanons were all stolen directly from other people and this is how i realized i was trans and aroace. the gravity falls fandom really can be wonderful. also i would die for aroace ford.
anyway- i headcanon ford is aroace. specifically, he doesnt feel any romantic attraction (im sure theres a word for that but i wouldnt know it) and he's sex-repulsed (i know the word for that one- apothisexual). he may or may not have a queerplatonic relationship with fiddleford. this is something mabel and stan have been trying to figure out and they just havent yet.
he's transmasc! real big fan of the idea that he realized that simply not gendering was something he could do after going through the multiverse. he uses he/they/it and, like mabel, collects neopronouns like he collects anomalies
bonus headcanon for fiddleford - biromantic bisexual and transmale. may or may not be in a queerplatonic relationship with ford. he's okay with whatever pronouns you want to use for him but does lean towards more masculine or gender-neutral ones.
i wouldve included soos and wendy and melody but i havent quite nailed down my headcanons for them yet

There have been a few posts from you, or asks from others, where you've talked about gender. I'm just wondering if you could talk a bit about gender and feeding/gaining; do you notice any differences in your own experience of fat people of different genders, or are you more fatsexual in the sense of simply being attracted to a person's fatness?
See as a Cis white guy, it’s hard for me to speak on behalf of so many people that can talk about gender and gaining with much more personal experience, but I can certainly give my own perspective, and happy to be corrected.
Being aromantic and having certain romantic interactions just, really give me the ick, like kissing or going on super elaborate dates, I know kinda vague but I’m keeping that aspect brief, but feedism has always felt like the opposite to me, and it allows me to be more open that way for my affection and love.
When I’ve thought of gaining myself, I think of it to kind of find the body I really feel I need to be happier, though I can’t gain myself due to outstanding reasons, but in turn I feel if I gained, I could better understand my own identity. Be more, I guess gender neutral in that sense. Something about getting so fat you can’t tell gender has always been a love of mine, and I suppose that does make me fatsexual to an extent? Cause, I’m really not into guys,… but if that guy is so massive, he’s a borderline blob of fat, I’m gonna start drooling~
Which I guess is what I’d want personally myself at some point, but let’s say “never say never” on that :)
I know gaining can be a very reaffirming experience for so many people, for lots of reasons, and giving that love and kindness back into the world is important for such a tiny community like this, there’s no room for creeps and people looking for a quick fix for their fetish if they can’t own up to admitting their love of fat~ whether it’s one gender, everything, or just simply no real attraction just wanting an indulgent fetish, that’s all okay! All that matters is supporting each other into a more positive environment and plenty of snacks to help along the way~
Just my very tired brain rant on the whole concept of gaining and gender, but if anyone else has more specific examples of their own experiences please do let me know! I always like to learn more about that kind of thing
And thank you so so much for the ask 💞
