Woah, a fic? From me? Crazy. Anyways, basically my first snzfic in the history of ever. 2 parts since I’m writing this while it’s a whole 2°F outside and I’m freezing. Not proofreading and you can’t make me.

Sniffly Snowstorm (Part 1)

Caretaker: Lady Holly

Of course, the one time Kip goes on a mission on a frost planet there’s a blizzard. Why wouldn’t there be? Holly stopped for a moment.

“Kip, are you alright sweetie? We’ve been at this for a while, you can’t be feeling well without your regular naps. Want me to carry you?”

They wouldn’t take that offer, as much as their head hurt, as much as they had to keep stifling sneezes into their handkerchief, why? Holly was already carrying the newbie, they couldn’t bother her anymore than that. The safe house was only up this last hill. Wait…

They were falling.

A crevice in the ice.

A scream.

Holly stared down the hole, she wanted to jump down there but Shiro needed to get inside. She would come back later, Kip was strong and there weren’t any monsters in the area stronger than S-they…they could handle it. She practically sprinted up the hill. She slammed through the wooden door, not bothering with fumbling for a key with her cold hands. She had used a lot of her mana to get past those adventurers unseen and now she was paying the price. Her magic flickered a few times before finally summoning a collection of vines and leaf litter. She tossed it into the fireplace and lit it up a small fireball. She coughed up smoke as her body reacted to using an incompatible magic. She got up, wiping the blood that started to leak from her nose and ran back out of the cabin.

200ft below the surface:

Thud!

Kip landed face first into the cold floor. They stumbled to their feet, shivering as they looked around. Icy stalactites hung above them, dripping crystal clear water into small puddles. Kip could see the hole they fell through, no way they could warp up there with their head so fuzzy. Their breath hitched.

“Fu..Aaa..ahh….oh, I lost it.”

Great, their nose wouldn’t even cooperate with the-

“HTZCHEW!”

Nope, it was just trolling. Amazing, fantastic even. They wished they listened to Zayo, they should have brought that extra layer. Kip sniffled and started looking for a way out. Their hair stood on end and they leaped back as a lightning bolt was thrown at them. Great…this was a monster den. Two feral electricity elementals leaped at Kip. They ducked under a claw swipe before slamming a fist into its abdomen. Kip hacked into their arm as tears beaded in their eyes. That small movement made their entire body ache. Their muscles felt like jelly but she had to keep fighting. They breathed out slowly, emitting a purpleish smoke. The elemental rushed forward and when it came in contact with the gas it fell forward, unconscious. Their own smoke irritated their nose.

“Why me…” they muttered as they felt the faint beginnings of a sneeze. “HYTZCHEW…H..Haa…K’STZCHEW.”

It hurt, everything hurt. It was cold, they were in combat, they were alone. Suddenly, a large vine wrapped around the elementals and drained their life force. While the elementals dissipated, and before their vision faded to black, they saw a figure rushing towards them.

Holly picked up Kip and sighed, Kip unconsciously pressed into her eliciting a small smile from Holly. She rode a beanstalk out of the crevice and back into the biting winds. The storm had worsened and the chill bit down to her chloroplasts. The plant lady huffed as she almost slipped back into the crevice. Kip stirred in her arms.

“Holly, I don’t feel too good.” Kip whined and pawed at her chilled, runny nose.

“I know Kip, I know. Just rest ok?” Holly shifted her posture so that Kip was better sheltered from frosty winds.

Holly would have loved to help Kip fix the itch in their poor red nose but she unfortunately has to deal with the growing blizzard. She could almost feel the water in her veins freezing, though that wouldn’t stay just a feeling for long. She heard the sound of shuffling behind her. She would normally be up to a fight but she was entirely on the back foot here. She did her best to erupt a wall of thorny vines as she ran. She pushed open the door to the safe house and placed Kip on the bed next to Shiro. She was exhausted and two of her friends were sick. How awful.

“L…Lady Holly?” Shiro had woken up. She’d go and check his eyes to see if he was actually focused but getting hypnotized was not in the plans.

“Just Holly dear. How are you feeling? Where do you hurt?” She was suffering from mana exhaustion but she hoped Shiro’s fever would stop him from noticing. “I’m sorry that I had to leave you alone here. Did the fire go out while I was gone?”

Shiro weakly shook his head, “No. By the way, do you have any tissues?” He rubbed his nose, sniffling.

She handed him a box of tissues and pat his head, ‘accidentally’ brushing his nose with a vine.

“Hk…H’TSCHEIW!”

She tried to hide the deeper shade of green her cheeks turned. Gosh, she was freak of an alrune huh? She was tempted to tickle that cute button nose again but he needed rest. Kip wrapped an arm around the neko’s stomach eliciting a small squeak from him. They mumbled into him, scratching their nose on his hoodie.

Holly stepped back and went to the bed, she didn’t want to leave them but her veins were threatening to freeze over and her mana was almost in the negatives. Ignoring the pounding ache in her head and the feeling of sap starting to clog her nose.

“Gods, I feel horrendous.”

jayvik as cats (i’ve gone fully insane). no but ok imagine. jayce is caitlyn’s cat and viktor is idk maybe vi’s and he’s an amputee so he’s got the three leg limp going on and he’s one of those cool angular ones like the oriental shorthair and jayce is a longhair half main coon bc he’s enormous and they don’t get along at first and caitvi are worried viktor will be too stressed by jayce’s presence bc he has a troubled past (vi found him in a shelter and he was about to be euthanized 💔💔💔💔) but jayce just follows viktor everywhere and eventually they’re like those cat videos where the cats are curled up together with one VIGOROUSLY licking the others face or sitting watching out the window together and their tails are flicking side to side in unison and jayce is always putting a paw over viktor when viktor naps on him 😭😭💔💔💔 holy fuck the brainrot is brainrotting i’m sorry this even exists
