Haiii ^-^ I really like the gods' designs in mlp rw and I'm very curious to hear more abt them… Anything you wanna share about their characters or their relationships or their powers or worldbuilding elements? 👀

YAY not much atm beyond just Vibes but here’s just a list of things from off the top of my head:

-my thought is that perhaps they’d all live in a different plane of existence like disc does in canon (might just steal Skyros from g5 but instead of alicorns it’s the gods n all that lol)

-none of them are inherently evil nor good. All start neutral but choose paths later— discord going too far with his chaos but not outright malicious, concord being about peace and order and all but gets that through harmful means/punishing (hence the ties to canon show lore w the wind spirits appearing when there is disharmony), esse is the most traditionally god-like so would be very quiet/Not All There in a way?, cosmos is the balance with it of creation and destruction BUT note. Not death. Just like esse is creation but not Life if that makes any sense at all lmao?? SK honestly is just an asshole LOL no real deeper reasons beyond that tbh that and having a huge ego, serenity (aka allura but I renamed ofc)(was gonna call her aroura to get the same name sound but aroura are at night so that didn’t exactly work w her theme and cyclone and serenity has a good ring) I’ve not thought as hard on but will be one of the in quotes good ones but probably would be kinda bossy/not perfect/almost goth maybe lol? -i hc the gods have a rule of not messing w eachothers business, hence the answer to the age old “why was discord not in the movie/why didn’t he help” question has an answer here lol

-concords hc voice is Spock from star trek to match that discord is a from star trek <3 (here’s a bit of their actors interacting bc they didn’t in the show iirc?? Idk Star Trek don’t quote me on it)

-another concord idea is bc he’s a winter god and snowdrop is in my rw, I like the idea the snowflakes used to all be identical before they befriended her and they were inspired by her to make snowflakes individual/unique/go against his nature

-dynamics: disc causing intentional highjinx vs con who is very dry/no nonsense, SK vs serenity intentionally annoying eachother they’re one of those siblings who fight all the time and piss eachother off, cosmos very bitter and angry at being banished from Skyros bc she went too far in her destructiveness so she hatesssss all of them not just Esse

-I like the fact Storm is white/cloud colored but Serenity is grey/storm cloud colored teehees I’ll definitely have fun making final colors for her (and maybe a updated SK ref just bc I’ve drawn him a bit more/got his stylization down since the first doodle)

-I like con is Oder but is the only one to break the rule of the gods all having wings bc he runs off Chinese dragon rules to contrast discord traditional dragon rules :3

-initially my doodle of esse was gonna be the one with bug wings but I preferred the look of feathered ones so to not waist the idea I swapped it over to allura bc I think the sectioned colors will look really nice that way, and makes the clear sky idea fitting seeing as bugs are only out when it’s sunny/not raining/butterflies flying around gives the visual of peace

-even though they come from skyros I don’t think they all live there but they travel back and fourth to do their jobs (sk would only leave to cause storms, con leaves for snowstorms (usually stays around crystal empire tho), etc you get the idea they’re not always there it’s just when they are from, esse methinks would be only one to really Stay there and not leave

Opinion on Opaline and Allura?

I think they kinda neat,, would definitely be better if g5 had more time to shine/flesh itself out, and I love the alicorn dimension thing even if it breaks continuity lmao it’s just neat conceptually I mean

Give it up for part 3, anyone?? Anyways this is basically just me rambling and sharing my own ideas atp I hope you don't mind sobs but uhh Ocellus should've been related to Thorax. Give her the princess treatment /silly

Even better, give her trauma. She's Thorax' little sister ( I know she has an actual family I DON'T CARE let me be delusional /silly ) and also Chrysalis' designated favorite ( heir ), and perhaps was always meant to be a princess from the start due to that, being chosen to be next in line etc etc. Chrysalis took her in at a very very young age methinks. That would make her fear of literally becoming Chrysalis much more real ( which we see in the "What Lies Beneath" ep ) and also just give me like one royal character who's actually avoidant / doesn't want to be royalty pretty pleaseee ( Twi doesn't count imo she warmed up to the idea like really fast ).

Uhhh something something that would mean she starts off as an antagonist and also angst for Thorax because his little sister is being manipulated to be evil and do evil deeds. No idea how that would work with the actual school of magic plot though, maybe she doesn't start off as like the designated reformed Changeling for obvious reasons ( she's not reformed yet because again, still under Chrysalis grasp / control ), but rather infiltrates the school as a spy ( can changelings shapeshift into reformed versions of themselves? Is that ever mentioned in the show? ).

Maybe the actual designated changeling goes on to befriend her which is how she becomes part of the young six ™ ( I don't care about numbers why does it always have to be six, can't a gal have a group of seven ) and they have a Barbie: Princess and the Pauper type friendship. So cool. Also gives a bit of a reason as to why Ocellus is shy. So cool.

More manipulation from Chrysalis, less cool, she tells Ocellus to betray / backstab the young six. Mother Gothel type vibes for Chrys. Gaslighting... Can we teach the kids about that? Yes we can! Especially given how relevant it is because like parental figure gaslighting. And we ( the viewer ) see it and realize that it's bad because Chrys is Chrys and she's evil and everything but for Ocellus it's less obvious because Chrys is the only parental figure she's ever had and Chrys reinforces the idea that Ocellus is just young and naive with her ideas of friendship and that she knows better and also she has to do what she says "because family". So much angst potential it's crazy... But yeah Chrys is essentially very much trying to brainwash little Ocellus. Bonus point for similarities with Starlight, making their whole disdain for one another that much uhh, logical I guess.

Angst two part epic episode where Ocellus does end up completely brainwashed ( be it literally or not ) and she actually betrays the young six ( didn't expect that plot twist huh! ) buuuuut of course in cliche fashion Thorax is there and he recognizes his sister and he's like "Stop... This isn't who you are..." And Ocellus goes "I don't know who I am!" ( this goes crazy with the changeling parallels ) because she actually doesn't have any other "real" identity due to being raised by and living most of her life thus far with Chrysi. Her friends / young six go "But we know who you are, you're our friend! :]" and blah blah blah she gets redeemed. Boom. Epic reformed changeling transformation, bonus points if it's much more colorful and bright than her initial reformed disguise. She learns to stand up against toxic parental figure, and she gets the redemption and not Chrys ( imo Chrys really should never get redeemed idc ), and she gets reunited with her brother, Thorax. Big celebration. Yay.

Bonus episodes where she learns to adapt to an actual like, non-toxic environment.

She still has nightmares and fears about Chrys.

Thorax legally adopts her and he's now her guardian because she's still a minor. Family :]

Bonus angst idea being that the designated changeling is an orphan that Thorax chose because they reminded him of Ocellus. Hence why they and Ocellus immediately got along so well from the start. Found family goes crazy fr.

Ocellus is still a ball of anxiety and very much shy, but she learns to overcome that and heal from her traumas by the end of the show. Drops mic. Hire me Lauren Faust. I'm going to take a nap now, ramble over but please do share your thoughts and opinions on this whole plot I came up with on the spot sobs /lh

THIS IS SOOOO FIREEEEEEEEEEE YESSSSSSSSS if I wasn’t so deep into my rw already I’d make this real. My compromise is I’ve been debating flutterpony ocellus as sunrax daughter bc ocellus shimmer has a really good ring to it and lets her still have becoming chrys angst and I love ocellus and wanna use her anyway EATS AND CHEWS ON THIS YEAHHHG WOOOOO

Round twooo, I'm not sure if you've mentioned it before I am so terribly sorry if you have, my memory is abysmal, but do the "pillar ponies" exist in your AU?

I found it really cool how they're all based on different ancient civilizations like hello?? That's so awesome,, and then we only get to really see said ancient civilizations for like. One exposure episode. Like whyyyy, granted they're ancient but what about like. Mistmane's village, for example, like I want to know more about their culture and dragon fighting magic whyyy. Tfw your whole civilization is doomed to be the "brought up once and then never again" episode special ( looks at the Kirins ). Or even Somnambula and the Sphinx... Many such cases. I guess that leaves groundwork for the comics but still. I want my Adventure Time-esque type lore / world building IN the actual show, if done well it doesn't matter if it's a million episodes.

Anyways if they really wanted to limit the world expansion or whatever they should've made Mistmane a Kirin so they can both have some kind of actual relevance. We were robbed of Mistmane Kirin 💔

REALLL I do think the pillars are cool conceptually, but I actually do something different! Mostly bc I don’t have much of an attachment to them is all

anyway my take (which I drew concept art for a bit back) was instead the “pillars” could be based on the beta mane six/be ancestors, as well as the hearthswarming characters, bc Starswirls whole thing was not having friendship in magical mystery cure but then he had a whole group ? Granted they could be more a coworker dynamic but I don’t see it in the execution, so for me I wanna make starswirl more bitter/loner kinda like twilight if she didn’t get her arc kinda. As for my original element bearers they are as follows: clover the clever (aka luckyclover/luckystar sparkle, two names bc why not anyway he’s the son of starswirl sparkle and gusty leaves (as in gusty the great), smart cookie (aj and pinkie ancestor) private posey (fluttershy), firefly blaze (RD), jeweled armor (rarity/SB/shining), apple pie (aj pinkie, is together with cookie hence cousin status and pies n apples name conventions), suprise party (an enigma, meant to seem like pinkie but nah shes just along for the ride no mane six tie in for her bc oc already made for that to make them related lol, fitting for her name being surprise though teehees)

another idea I had was tying in the tree of harmony with how ponies have trees on hearthswarming, esp w the decorations added it could be a tie in ! :3€

Hi moot I've come to harass you with several MLP Rewrite AU related-asks because my brain suddenly did a thing called "thinking" and uh. Yeah, I apologize for the potential spam in advance lmao

First off, does Daring Doo exist, and if yes what would be your interpretation of her, if you have any?

Imo I've always disliked how they just made her a Dash carbon copy design wise, I liked the theories where her early episodes "appearances" are just Dash imagining herself as Daring Doo, and because RD is projecting, naturally DD has to match her appearance in some way.

Looking back at that I wish that theory ended up being true and I kinda wish they also went with the whole "the person (pony) I idolize and see a certain way is actually completely different in reality" route, I think that could've been a super interesting "arc" (?) for RD, where she finally gets to meet DD ( who's naturally secretive about her identity due to being kind of a celebrity and everything ) and she's just. Nothing like what RD envisioned of her. Like wouldn't it be super funny if DD was actually a really mundane looking pony ( or even other species ) and like the only descriptive factors that match are her coat and mane colors, as per what little there is about her appearance in her own books? Does that make any sense? I hope it does

But yeah insert episode where Dash learns to break prejudice because of course the pony she projected as HAS to be an awesome strong pegasus like her, right? Insert lesson about the people we idolize not always being on par with our expectations / visions of them, etc etc, I don't know I felt like that would've been a really cool idea and concept to play with other than just. Daring Doo being de-yassified Dash. Straight flag looking mf /silly

LETS GOOOO I LOVE BIG LONG ASKS huge agree the DD thing felt a little forced im gonna say it I don’t like they made her a real pony/the author.. on paper that’s fun I love me a author who went on a fantasy journey writing their life as a fictional story bc no one would believe it BUT that idea sort of falls flat w mlp bc it’s already a fantasy world

also daring doo is based on Indiana jones but then they make her authors name a play on jkr I,, don’t get the logic there😭 like ???

I’ve not thought on DD yet but if I were tbh I think I’d just keep her as a fictional character no plot twist with her author bc I personally prefer that simplicity lols, also YESSS I’ve always loved the RD projecting hc
