Hazy Light is one of the only natural born alicorns to ever exist, born from the unicorn Midnight and the pegasus Show Stopper from an affair. He's never felt quite worthy of his alicorn ranking, seeing as he didn't earn it like any other alicorn, and wears a hat to hide his horn.

Though he doesn't have a relationship with his parents Shimmer Bright (an earth pony) and Show Stopper, which makes it painfully obvious he isn't Shimmer's blood.

Hazy Light spent most of his adolescence with his uncle and aunt, Silver Noir and Frosty Cocoa, while his parents were away for "business." He still resides there, with his parents currently overseas.

As a young foul he went to private school on the request of Show Stopper, and there he tracked down his classmates pet miniature alligator as his first unofficial case which also earned him his cutie mark!

To thank his uncle for taking care of him he became his apprentice, mostly just helping him out around the office. But he proved to be a very skilled detective and started helping him with actual cases.

Silver Noir eventually got Hazy Light enrolled in the school of friendship, Hope's Peak Academy, in hopes that he could make some friends there and come out of his shell. He couldn't stay cooped up forever.

Unfortunately, things don't all go according to plan when they get trapped in the school by a strange mechanical bear?

Yes, of course! The world of Equestria (which should really get a name more unique to this au lol) is highly advanced after ponies started to learn how to use magic as a physical source of energy. Shinra harnesses magic in order to provide better lives to everypony.

However, much like FF7, Shinra has a more siniter underbelly Equestria used to be ruled over by alicorns, who harnessed raw magic in order to coexist with the planet. They had no need for the machines of the present, and lived in harmony. However, they faced defeat in the face of the calamity from the stars, JENOVA, whose magic warped and decieved ponies, allowing her to infest their lands and raze the lives they all lived. The loss of alicorn magic meant that life became unstable for the remaining ponies. They had no control over the sun and moon. They could not use the alicorn's magic to protect themselves. Shinra arose from the ashes, and decided to overcome the fear in order to power the future. They found other sources of magic, and used them to protect the ponies of Equestria. On the inside, Shinra hopes to be able to recreate Alicorns, using their descendants and the remains JENOVA. Of course, JENOVA isn't an Alicorn, and nor is she a pony. She is a great being of dark magic that chose to feed on the very planet the ponies inhabited. The pony body she inhabits is the remains of an Alicorn, leading to the confusion on Shinra's part ^^, The JENOVA project resulted in three ponies. Angeal and Genesis, who were born earth ponies and incapable of tapping into their magic without the help of the SOLDIER program, and Sephiroth, who was a unicorn born with magic powers that seemed to be on par with what they knew Alicorns to be capable of! Of course, Sephiroth isn't an Alicorn, and the fragments of JENOVA they used to create him means he is something entirely different!

a project I finally got around to finishing!! the mane 6, inspired by their earlier generation counterparts, within a medieval fantasy style setting. please don't repost without permission! you just need to ask.

some fun facts:

fluttershy is half unicorn here!! that's why she has the deer-like build and slightly long tail.

rarity is half horse

applejack is fully just a horse.

pinkie and rainbow are the only true ponies

their jobs (in the order shown in the lineup) are royal messenger, royal jester, royal menagerie keeper, royal tailor, royal orchard farmer and Queen Celestia's Most Specialest Student.

in this au, they all met due to working within the castle grounds.

in this au, celestia is queen, luna is still banished, and twilight is discouraged from making friends as it distracts her from her studies. she is celestia's heir and grew up in the castle.

they are all marekissers. lol
